You actually don't know when to replace me.
literally never just fill it with water and microwave it
>>18189380go on?
>>18189389There is literally nothing to "go on". Get it wet, the microwave nukes the bugs, continue using it.I can't believe I'm teaching zoomies how to live on a mongolian basket weaving forum.
>>18189444I don't have a bug problem so I'll just skip the microwave part. Thanks anyway
When the scouring pad loses it's coarseness.
>>18189360Isnt the green part like a wear strip, replace when its gone?
>>18189360GTFO my house now nigger!
>>18189444Microwaving wont remove the chunks and gunk that gets stuck in the fibers over time and stops it from being able to properly scrub and clean.
I once had one for 5 years straight, and, mine you, it was there when I'd settled in. It was black all over.Hail frugality.
>the kind with the spongereplace it immediately
It's not nearly as important to replace as you think. If you have soap on it, then you're fine.Simple as
When it goes soft or the green starts to come off
>>18190265t. Sloppobacter gunkensis
>>18189360im not poor so i only use them once lol
>>18189360When it starts to smellA dry sponge is a happy sponge, always wring it out properly after use, don't leave it in the sink
>>18190369I'll kick your ass right now
>>18190431the driveway to my house is longer than the street you live on lol
When its no longer rigid and starts to smell? I love dishwashing as much as the next guy but there's no need to be frugal on sponges
>>18189444That's gross. You're gross.Although I wish they would make some of these that lasted longer. Seems like a waste.
>>18189444>the microwave nukes the bugsmicrowaves don't kill spores
>>18192003Microwave will kill anything that has water in it. Spores have water in it.
>>18189360when the soft part gets so fucked it can hardly hold any water anymore
>>18189444dont do this it makes mustard gas
>>18189360if you rinse your dishes before using it, it'll last much longer. and squeeze and rinse the sponge after your done
>>18189360After the lemon is applied. Duh
I use one of these. Replace it every time the plastic mesh starts to break down.
>>18189380sounds like it would smell really bad
>>18190317Just think about it.You take use a cloth, wash it in a washing machine, then reuse it a million times.I do the same thing with my hands instead of a washing machine, and suddenly I'm going to die? That's silly.
>>18189360reminder that studys have shown that those kitchen sponges contain more bacteria per cubic inch than fresh human feces.
>>18192100lolno
>He doesn't just use the one that came with his housengmi
>>18192169>scratches all your cookware
>>18190369I was going to say similar. The off-brand ones at Target are like maybe 40 to 50 cents each. Use them a couple days max and throw them away. Simple as.
>>18189444microwave wont fix it breaking down after a month of use
>>18191811you dont deserve to live
>>18192100endospores laugh at boiling water
>>18192443If you scratch your Teflon with plastic sponges, you need anger management
>>18192261Nope. Supposing it's not filled with gunk...which it shouldn't be if you've rinsed properly...then it removes all smell. The microorganisms are indeed too small to microwave, but the water acts as a medium for the waves to use to kill the things that are causing that smell in your sponge. Like other anons have said, make sure you ring out your sponge before putting them away.
Some fucking idiot on reddit was saying that they toss their sponge and toothbrush in with their laundry once a month to clean and last longer
>>18192963sleep tight sponge
>>18192905I don't own cancerflon pans, mantits-san
>>18192963let him sleep... he's earned it.
I change them whenever the bathroom needs a good scrub. That gets the sponge nice and gross so it's a good time to throw it out anyways
>>18192963Sweet dreams
>>18192100Fruit flies and other small bugs aren't affected by microwaves at allYou can microwave them for 30 minutes and they'll come out just fine
My nigga you can get 3 of them for a dollar. You replace them when touching or looking at one feels anything less than great to you. Please care about yourself enough to spend an extra $3 a year on kitchen sponges.
>>18195652Try drenching them in water first.
>>18189444>t. neet who's never washed a dish in his life
When it's falling apart and no longer useful
>>18189444microwave won't fix my poorfag habit of not having a microwave
>>18193112>>18193861>>18194480are you guys stupid? the sponge isn't sleeping. the sponge is the bed
>the cleaning device she told you not to worry about
>>18196776This shit looks entirely useless
>>18196751he is sleeping please do not wake him up
no one could replace you, sponge
>>18196900sorry
>>18189360if i use you, smell my hand, it smells off instead of like soap, it's time
test
>>18189380how american
>>18189360Why the fuck do people use these? I haven't bought any of these shitty sponges since I was a freshman in college. Literally just spend $5 on one of these and never look back. You can clean out a black greasy pan that's had two pounds of bacon run through it, rinse it off and you're good to go. Tomato sauce? No problem. Meanwhile a sponge hits a bit of burnt grease and it's basically ruined.
>>18189380Are you retarded?
>>18189380>>>18189389 >>18192261 >>18197116 >>18198248musturd gas, don't do it
>>18198248yes
>>18197968I took the brush pill years ago.
>>18197968too big for glasses
>>18189360Monthly because for some reason people keep stealing them from the sink. Should I hide them? They are pretty cheap but what's with people taking them away like souvenir? I honestly don't understand.
>>18197968This, sponges take forever to clean. I have a round brush for glasses, too.
I just use a shitty rag
>>18189360When the coarse stuff has been worn off
>>18197968>*flicks shit all over your kitchen counter tch - nothen personnel kid pic related is the actual kino dish-washing solution
>>18192169>>18192443>>scratches all your cookwarecompared to the OP's suggestion which is made with aluminum oxide, literally the same material as sandpaper?
>>18199504These suck they feel like they are from the dollar store. You have cheap taste
>>18199548Are you kidding? Scrub Daddy makes great products. That material of theirs is the absolute best, way more durable, hygienic, and effective than a regular sponge. After a long-enough while that mesh will wear out (especially when you're washing cutlery, it snags) but other than that, one of these is worth 15 ScotchBrite scouring-sponges. You're a goofy.
>>18199606Dumb shill
>>18199606They suck and they can't scrub for shit. My mom (bless her) bought me some for Christmas and they can't scrub for shit and the towels just push water around
>>18199172Anon, where do you live that people have 24/7 access to your kitchen sponges?
