what's the best fast food chain to work at? checkers is the closest to me but there's also a subway, McDonald's, KFC, culver's, chipotle, taco bell, Wendy's, and burger king nearby
>>
>>18019645
>what's the best fast food chain to work at?
Your own one. My brother and me are making shawarma and hotdogs in a small kiosk. It's comfy, it gets you enough money, it's not too hard and nobody from above screams at you
>>
>>18019690
Beyond based good luck anon
When I was unemployed was seriously thinking about doing the same in Berlin where cart/mobile kiosk are a thing and it's cheap to get started. Then I got a job but I still think it is a nice job
>>
>>18019645
chickfila for the slutty christians?
>>
America used to give out gold watches and pensions after 27 years. Tiny hats in full effect.
>>
>>18019746
No, that is for retirement. This was just because he never missed a day for 27 years.
Do you enjoy shit in your mouth?
>>
>>18019645
There's a dairy queen in my town that has two or three ladies that are in their lates 60s/early 70s, who have literally worked their since they graduated high school. Does anyone know what they'd be getting paid after 50 years? Surely they have to be getting paid pretty good to stay. Just lile they guy in the OP. Do you think he makes decent money?
>>
Why are people so afraid of change? I start looking at new jobs a month after I get one. And I was a low skill wagie like these people, fast food worker in high school but I've climbed up to a nice job just from switching over the years.
>>
>>18019773
Used to work at dq and had a manager who had been there for over 30 years. She made $4 above minimum wage. I'm sure what has changed during covid though
>>
>>18019690
what is your garlic sauce made out of?
also, do you sell halal snack packs?
>>
>>18019827
Jesus, that's fucking grim
>>
>>18019773
Way back you used to be able to support a family of 4 on one minimum wage salary. They probably have husbands with careers and just did it to supplement their income, now doing it to pass the time.
>>
mcdonald managers where i live make 80-100k+ easy
>>
>>18019645
Of those choices?
I'd probably have to say that Taco Bell would be your best bet.
>>
>>18019879
What do Micky D's managers do exactly? The hiring, scheduling of shifts, product ordering? What else am I missing?
>>
>>18019889
Micky D's or not, every problem is your problem, anytime there's no one to work a shift because someone quit or got sick or whatever, you get to do it.
If your sales aren't good, that's your problem too, so fix it or hit the road, etc.
I'm not sure I'd want to be the manager of a fast food joint.
>>
>>18019889
I did shift supervision, ordering and receiving stock and trained the back of house crew
>>
What makes you work behind the counter at BK for 27 years? How do you go that long and not go "I really need to do something with my life"?
>>
>>18019773
Not fastfood but I have a family member who worked for a drug store chain for over 40 years as an assistant manage. He was making decent money but a few years before he retired, the company "restructured" and they renamed his position and cut his pay in half. Then on top of that, the company did profit sharing as a retirement, and so all of his retirement was invested in the company, but a few years before his retirement the company stock tanked, and he lost like 2/3rds of his retirement investment.

These, I was a shift lead at Taco Bell in my stoner years and you are basically the punching bag and the last rock that shit rolling down hill hits. I was in charge of end of shift inventory checks, counting down tills, and dealing with every ass mad faggot that complained there wasn't enough cheese on their taco even though I would always give at least double what I was supposed to to avoid that shit. I was almost going to go up to assistant manager and get ~60k or so but nothing is worth having to deal with the general publics retardation all day.

Walking the fuck out and getting a job in a warehouse was the best decision I ever made. $32 an hour to sit on a forklift and do nothing is so fuckin good.
>>
>>18019690
My brother and I.

That bag was what, $20 tops?

The dude deserves an extra months pay or two.

complete myth
>>
>>18020136
I feel sorry for him but at the same time I wish there were more people like him. Dumb people who are aware that they're dumb so they're happy with doing a simple job well, getting a fair wage, living a simple life. Much better than entitled minority youths who don't give a shit about their job, or anything really.
>>
I don't know how people can stay working for the same company for years. you could always be getting better somewhere else.
>>
>>18020281

why risk it all for the possibility of a slight improvement with the risk of a huge failure

27 years and not manager yet? hmm
>>
>>18020281
Careful about job hopping too much. Potential employers start seeing that you don't stay in one place that long and they will start passing you over.
At the same time, don't sit too long in a job that you know is shit. Fast food work isn't a viable career path unless it's the only work around.
>>
>>18019645
at first I thought it said "$0 THANKFUL" lol
>>
>>18020266
My grandpa was literally a cashier at a grocery store when he bought our house. Mind you this was right after WW2 but still.
>>
>>18020266
My grandfather never graduated high school and can barely read English. He worked loading bags for different airlines since the 70s. Made minimum wage and was able to support a family of 5, put 3 kids through college, build both of his houses, take regular vacations, and he retired early.

I make ~$145k/yr but I can’t afford to buy an apartment, let alone a house in this economy.
>>
>>18020640

my grandpa was a high school teacher and was able to buy houses for his three daughters and let my grandma be a stay ay home mom. teachers nowadays in my country can barely afford rent in some places.

>>
>>18019645
Any of them are fine. Just go in and do the bare minimum work since they're paying you the bare minimum. If you get fired, just get another job at another burger joint.
>>18020509
Nah. Jobs like this don't give a fuck and most only ask for your three most recent. If you want you can just lie to them and say you didn't work at whatever job. Not like they give a fuck if you have employment gaps either. They just need people and if you're a person you're in.
>>
>>18020509
Incorrect, job hopping is demonstrably the fastest way to increase your compensation, at least in white collar fields
>>
>>18019645
I approve of this.
People who are stupid enough to work that miserable job for a fucking quarter of a century should indeed be mocked.

Try to find a Summer job at an ice cream place. Scooping all day will build up your arms.
>>
>>18020679
Yeah, a 2bed/2bath in a shitty part of where I live goes for a cool $270k. I chatted up a guy at ATL a few months ago and he was telling me how lucky he was to get a cheap $800k 3bed in Hoboken.

>>18020708
>have you tried living within your means
Yes. Don’t drink or party. Only vice is an unfiltered Camel at the end of the day. Only real payment is current rent and my car.
>>
>>18019645
Subway is a very comfy restaurant to work at. the teams are small so there's not a lot of people to get to know, you usually only have 1 other person working with you at a given time (who is usually NOT a manager), there's no deep fryers to clean/operate or anything like that, and customers aren't in nearly as much a rush as the burger places.

Oh wow, some reeses pieces for 27 years of service, gee thanks…

Kek this thread reminds me that I have a DUDE WEED LMAO friend who is such a fuckup that he dropped uni and is simply waiting until 25 to become a bus driver
>>

Why not just replace those jobs with robots and justify the starvation of the poor with reduced pressure on finite resources? In a few generations we could eliminate unskilled labor and reduce the population by about 5 billion or so. Food is not a human right, if it was I can just keep having babies and tell the government to feed them for me.
>>
>>18021099
Why the fuck would he want to be a bus driver? If you're gonna drive should drive for like UPS or Amazon or something and actually make good money

Bruh wages don't work like that when it comes to gigantic corporations. The position they hold pays what it pays, regardless of how long they've been doing it. You don't get a raise every six months. Zero chance those ladies are making more than $15 an hour.
>>
>>18019690
THIS FPBP.
>>
>>18019645
>what's the best fast food chain to work at?
It all depends on the franchise owner, not the corporation.

cut the dogs, stick to schwarma. Don't juggle international and continental. Or stick to dogs and go balls deep on wacky varieties of dogs. One will suffer nonetheless.
>>
>>18021595
The dogs will suffer but there is a reason to serve hotdogs. It allows groups who have a person who doesn't want shawarma to get the non shawarma eater a hotdog. Even if the hotdog is shit the shawarma eater will have bought the good shawarma and tell the dog eater to fuck off, asserting dominance and potentially turning them into a shawarma eater as well.

Catholics are willing to do anything. They simply clean the sin away by telling a priest about it, who probably uses the stories as fap fuel.
