Based. This is my go-to ramen lunch. It's easy to make, absolutely stuffed to the gills with flavor, and doesn't take a lot of time. There's very little veggie involved, so make sure to have a healthy dinner tonight.Broth:1.25 cups water1/4 tsp hondashi*2 tsp mirin**1 tsp dark soy sauce (koikuchi shoyu)1 tsp light soy sauce (utsukushi shoyu)***1 green onion, sliced1 can sardines, mackeral, or herring1 bundle Hakubaku organic ramen****Combine broth ingredients in a small pot. Bring to a simmer.Meanwhile, boil a pot of water and cook ramen to package directions. When the noodles are nearly finished, add the green onion and fish to the simmering brother.Strain the noodles and add to a large bowl. Pour the soup on top. Serve and eat piping hot!* Substitute fish sauce or MSG** Substitute 2 tsp rice wine and 3/4 tsp sugar*** Substitute regular soy sauce is fine**** https://ii.worldmarket.com/fcgi-bin/iipsrv.fcgi?FIF=/images/worldmarket/source/22768_XXX_v1.tif&wid=480&cvt=jpeg
>>17274306what does adult requests have to do with canned fish

>>17274294for breakfast i made a sardine egg hash and ate it over rice. yum..
>>17274294So basically, I hate fishy flavor but I enjoy some types of whitefish, as well as shellfish and scallops, but not oysters or mussels, etc. How can I enjoy deenz? I don't want to try them and scare myself off them forever because I understand the benefits and want to reap them... but damn, do I hate fishiness.

>>17274332i unironically enjoy this shit, but don't eat it often, i dont trust chinese products very much
Anyone try these yet? They are really good
>>17274294Tried this for the first time ever and they have no texture at all, they just turn to mush in your mouth and have barely any flavor at all except a cat food like fishy flavor. I don't understand the hype at all, just take a fish oil pill or eat some canned salmon if you want more cheap Omega 3s
>>17278855>i only like food if it feels like i'm putting a hard penis in my mouth>oh a fish flavor but fish shouldn't taste like fish that's what cat food tastes like>just have pills don't eat food/ck/
>>17278855that's on you for buying a crappy and probably cheap can of sardines
>>17276855way more fishy than tuna, tuna is mild compared to deenz, mack, kippers, etc
whats the consensus on matiz?
>>17274332>sauce, plant oil, refined cane sugar, sauce, table salt, edibility spicefucking kek
>>17280383They're pretty good and high quality. Better than Bela's and Santo Amaro's, which I see as their main competitors. Nuri's are still better than all three though. If you can, try Trata's. Product of Greece and they're like the half way point between King Oscars and Spanish / Portuguese sardines. Not too small and mushy like King Oscars sometimes are, but not so huge that there's only three per tin. Still have the crunchy spine that any patrician will love. Also, the Matiz tined octopus is not worth the price, I wouldn't bother with it.
>>17274332yeah, do you guys think chinese don't eat canned fish or what?

>>17280383Chad-tier deenz. The Bonito del Norte and cockles are fantastic as well. For the past 2 nights I've had 2 cans of Matiz sardines and a bottle of Manzanilla for dinner! The only thing I don't like from them, as >>17280719 said, is the octopus- it's tasty but very expensive.
why is king oskar mediterranean style mackerel on multigrain wasa crackers the best snack money can buy?

I have high hopes for these . Trying acan with dinner .

Canned cod liver is also very nice.

Got into canned sardines and holy shit UK has crappy selection which is bonkers because we're an island, only ones I can find in store are store brands or John West which aren't bad and really cheap but just OK. Any bongs recommend good brands to get that aren't too pricey?
How'd I do bros?
Who else here a fan of the eastern european style sprats in oil?
>>17288954never had them, kinda hard to find over here
>>17277915I dont know, I haven't done the substitution in like a year. Add a little at a time; you can add it into your bowl as you eat if you want :^)
>>17284152What'd you think? I've had some sanma in a similar can (different flavor though) from my local japanese market and they were good.
>>17288459>kippers Very based
>>17289034They were delicious . I liked them better then the majority of canned fish I’ve tried . The only downside is that they use some added sugar . I’ll certainly try other flavors . 6 grams isn’t too bad if I watch the carbs in the other parts of my meal .
>>17289641Yeah, the japanese sanma cans I've had have all been unexpectedly sweet
>>17287365You might want to check the John West website, they have quite a range.
>>17290154Cheers man, found the John West and they're really good, no joke, I think I'll be getting a few from them as I'm not too sure on the difference between them and store brands.
>>17288459I'm not a big fan of the provence nicoise from freshe. The other one is good. Never actually tried Bar Harbor's productsThat being said an actual nicoise salad is really great

I really like Tiny Tots . I know they’re the same thing , I still like them better .
>>17288459>upside downNot bad, for an Australian. Although, the "small meat, big protein" selections are mostly meme.
>>17288954>eastern european oilSunflower seed oil, which must be as acquired a taste as soybean oil. Might as well pack them in water as far as taste is concerned. Is there any point in packing them in oil that's not as flavorful as EVOO? Genuine question. Does it last longer?

>>17291991My favorite way to eat them is to make a salad dressing with the olive oil and eat the fish with salad & soup
>>17291999Alton browns sardines and avocado toast recipe is highly approachable for the uninitiated and should give you a good idea of flavors that work well with them. They're good on a green salad with some lemon, cracked pepper, and paprika as well. You may want to look for cans that specifically say brislings on them. The fish are smaller and less fishy than the big boys.

>love me deenz>love me choona>love me chovies>love me mackrulsimple as
>>17294132Deenz in tomato are a good beginners choice. The tomato overpowers a little and makes the fishiness more palatable to those who arent used to it.
>>17294186yesterday i made some albacore tuna salad with bumblebee albacore desu, i prefer albacore over chunk light tuna.
Got this haul from Rainbow Tomatoes Garden last week and have slowly been trying different ones. The expensive ones on the right were interesting and really good, but I think I don't quite have a refined enough palate to make them worth the cost other than as a curiousity or gift. Maybe if a pro was preparing & presenting them I'd feel differently, though.
>>17294700I want to buy Alshark deenz just for the name alone .
>>17294726They were pretty solid, I'd put em on par with King Oscar's spicy ones. Reasonably priced too at only $2.50 a can, or probably cheaper if you can find them in an ethnic market.
Are deenz good for gains?
>>17278259THE QUALITY OF THESE THINGS WAS IMPRESSIVE. BUT EXPENSIVE AS WELL.I JUST DONT SEE PAYING THAT PRICE FOR DEENZ WHEN AT THAT PRICE YOU CAN LITERALLY JUST BUY WHOLE LARGE FILLETS OF FRESH FISH.ALSO WHEN YOU REMOVE THEM THE OIL LEVEL LOWERS AND THE PART ABOVE THE OIL GOES RANCID FASTER.
>>17294700try the regular ortiz's in olive oil. They cost about half of nuris and are equally as good
>>17284152NO MORE SARDINESIM SAURY.
i like making small pancakes with sardines inside
