I have some rice+meat leftovers, 6-7 days old. Smells fine. Kept in the fridge. Can I eat this? Will I realistically get sick from bacillus cereus, or is that just a meme?
>>16452180How poor are you that you're willing to risk food poisoning for rice? It'll probably be okay, but is it worth it?
Depends on how it was stored. If it was airtight and put into the fridge at room temp, it's fine.I'd chase it with a glass of hard liquor just to be safe though.
>>16452451I'd chase it with a glass of hard liquor too, but just because I'm an alkie
>>16452474Cheers, I'll drink to that
>Leftovers can only be kept for 2-3 days (4 is pushing it) in the refrigerator. Be sure to eat them within that time. After that, the risk of foodborne illness increases. If you don’t think you’ll be able to eat leftovers within four days, freeze them immediately.eat at your own risk. you might be fine but you're in the danger-zone
Just make sum fried riceWah la
>>16452180Try cramming it up your ass?
>>16452180discard that shit niggeranyone telling you eating this would be fine is a fucking retard
>>16452180What kind of meat?
>>16452525>But the FDA saysLmao who the fuck only keeps leftovers for 2 days? My whole life I've kept leftovers until they're eaten or they obviously smell bad which is usually at the 12-15 day mark and Ive never had an issue. I've only ever gotten food poisoning from eating at restaurants never my own cooking
>>16452180>b. cereuswas it just me or did everyone else go hard on the "be serious" puns in their youth?
>>16452525FDA guidelines are meant to keep the wagies waging away no matter what. You can safely double any recommendation in that image.
>>16452180How cold is your fridge? Some fridges can barely cool a beer whereas other people have theirs set to nearly 0.Either way, I would just toss. Some cheap rice and meat isn't worth the worry.
>>16454367I don't think I'd use eggs 10 weeks after getting them
>>16454367Maybe, or they're just trying to keep the lowest common denominators alive. It's the same as microwaving a sponge to kill bacteria and re-freezing things several times. You can do both of those things without any issue but they tell you not to so you don't start a fire or kill yourself.
>>16454405Shut your black mouth or I'll have you banned from this board permanently. I control the mods on this website. They fucking answer to me.

my parents keeps spanish rice in the fridge, often times theyll make more and forget there is still some in there. it usually last 10 days, sometimes 14... it gets mushy and starts to smell bad.i think the dryer the rice, the longer it last. i could see really mushy rice going bad in a few days
>>16454456your meds brother, take them
Smell it. If it smells fine, it’s ok to eat.
>>16454405>Maybe, or they're just trying to keep the lowest common denominators alive.Pretty sure that's what I said.
