why is japanese cuisine so hilariously bad?
the main staple dish of nipponland is sushi which is literally just fish on rice
their curry is just watered soup
ramen is just inferior version of authentic Chinese noodles
even instant noodles is taiwanese (Chinese) and not from japan

why could the nips not make a satisfactory cuisine?
>>
>>15907195
I can't imagine someone whose "lazy food" involves actually getting up and cooking anything. My lazy food is not eating.

Curry (little prep work but relatively simple). Have recently tried tamago gohan. Works pretty well with a dash of eel sauce. When I'm really lazy I'll throw some fish or chicken patties in the air fryer.

Rice with chilli tuna it is very nice and easy to make.
I like to cook the rice with vegetable stock instead of water and I add a litte oil seasame oil and chillie powder and curry powder.

Thats a crackpot post right there. Instant Noodles was invented by Nissin.
Japanese curry is nice and thick and rich.
And staple dish is straight up rice. Just add whatever you want.

>>
I hardly consider rice to be a lazy food
you either have to take the time to rinse it or wash the starch out of your pot afterwards, both take effort
>>
Lazy food in the same vein as TKG:
(all variations on "rice with stuff")
Cat's rice (bonito flake on top, watch it dance)
Rice with vegetables (steamer basket over rice cooker; sliced carrot & cabbage)
Butter rice (pat of butter, a few drips of soy sauce)
Rice with kimchi

And to further change it up:
Add a pinch of dried seaweed (fueru wakame) to rice when cooking
Season your rice by cooking with Knorr powder or a stock pot
>>
>>15907951
>fill cup with rice
>put it in rice cooker and fill water to the line
>press button, rice appears less than 20 minutes later and is kept warm until you're ready for it
It's perfect convenience food.
>>
I make a sandwich. Bologna, imitation american cheese, sriracha, wah lah.

Can of coconut milk and some red curry paste. Makes a base for many Thai dishes. Simmer it on the stove. Add aromatics, meats, and vegetables as necessary.
Add chicken stock for tom yum or kha soi soup.
Add sugar and peanuts for panang curry.
Add nothing for red curry.
Serve with rice or rice noodles.

Cook quick oats in microwave, when it's done spoon in some yogurt, then pour some cereal on top. Cheap parfait.
I also like one pan breakfast ramen. Fry some bacon in a pan, render out all the fat and pour it into whatever bowl you're gonna eat out of along with the bacon. Break the noodles in half and put them in the pan, cover with like half an inch of water and bring to boil until cooked. You want to use the least amount of water as possible so when you pour the super starchy broth into the bowl you can emulsify it with the bacon fat. Cook an egg in the pan and voila.
Omurice is good, which is just an omelette with rice as the filling. I'll usually mix the rice up with some leftover Taco Bell sauce packets with a little bit of ketchup too.

Get one of those Japanese rectangular omelette pans. Cook your egg, add whatever, flip over, put on toast. Damned good hot sandwich in ~10 mins.
>>
>>15910829
reduce water. average is 1.5 water to 1 rice, just cook a cup at a time and adjust.
always wash your rice unless you want to use the extra starch in a dish. when i had a cheapo cooker i also soaked for a couple h, but with a good cooker that makes the rice taste watery.
>>
>>15910420
Rice is a staple food here and I'm not even in Asia. People eat it basically everyday, maybe interchanging with pasta sometimes
>>
>>15907195

1. Lebanese lentils & rice

2. Roasted chick broccoli burritos

Currently dialing in various lazy dumpling/stuffed pasta and stuffed breads. There are some kickass things that you can do with meatballs too.
