Yo, I just discovered what matcha is yesterday and now I'm hooked. What are your thoughts on matcha??? Is it gay??
>>
>>15907171
Good matcha is incredible and unique, but expensive. Most matcha you buy at the grocery store or whatever is absolute garbage.
>>
>>15907171
Make some machta milk tea and be happy
>>
>>15907171
https://www.o-cha.com/matcha-powdered-green-tea/uji-matcha-taiko-san.html

I can vouch for this site and this matcha. Try a variety and work your way up to appreciate this stuff.
>>

I gotta do some more research on it. I've been drinking (((republic of tea)))
>>
Awesome! Matcha from Uji is the most premium one.

I've only had matcha from Aya, and I think it was called Hourai. Supposedly ceremonial grade, but doesn't come close to Uji matcha I imagine.

>Is it gay??
And what if it is? Are you going to stop drinking it?
>>
any suggestions what to do with bad matcha?
>>
>>15907250
Milk tea, top milkshakes, top fruit, stuff like that.
>>
>>15907234
Absolutely beautiful stuff. The green color is incredible and the flavor is intense, but smooth and delicious. Like the ocean with a unique umami. Prepared koicha of course.

yes

You should also look into Genmaicha. It's green tea mixed with toasted rice. Tastes like a mix of black and green tea. Great for casual drinking, but obviously not as classy as Matcha.

What do you lads do for Wagashi? Gotta have Matcha with some sweets. Do they sell the genuine Japanese stuff where you live, or do you improvise?
>>
>>15907171
Yes! It's gay! Isn't it wonderful?
>>
>>15907196
wtf $70 for 10 servings?
>>
>>15907323
real matcha ain't cheap.
the cheap stuff is actually just powdered sencha.
>>
>>15907323
It's worth it at least once if you like matcha, but it will ruin most other matcha for you. Oh yeah, and the way it's prepared is with very little water, so it's the consistency of warm honey. I'd say it's an acquired taste, but amazing if you're down with it. Kind of like the espresso form of green tea.
>>
>>15907256
Never heard umami used to describe matcha.
>>
Go for Japan-shipped Latte grade to save a little money. Do NOT buy ceremonial grade. EVER.
Not unless you're ceremonial hobbyist or a weapons-grade weeb.
You get the quality leaves with only minor astringent notes due to the harvest and preparation cycles. It's the best bang for your buck in casual drinking scenarios.

Matcha is also a great match for whipped cream.
It is especially good for those who do not like the bitter taste of matcha.
However, if you like matcha, you will find it lacking, so we recommend the wagashi.

>tfw flyover amerifat and can't obtain fresh matcha
True suffering. At least I have some good black tea from England, but I would love some good matcha.
>>
>>15907452
Isn't your black tea made in other countries and transported to yours as well?
>>
>>15907472
Yeah, but black tea holds up to transport better than matcha does. Any time I get matcha here it's stale/bitter/bland. I've only had really good matcha once, and it was when I visited the west coast.
>>
>>15907536
The good stuff I've had was ordered from japan and didn't take more than a week to show up...
>>
>>15907353
>Kind of like the espresso form of green tea.
Sums it up pretty well.

California

What do we recommend to someone who cannot acquire wagashi?
I like Matcha, but I want to pair it with something sweet.
Would a kitkat bar do?
>>

Werthers originals

Where did you order, link?

How does it taste different?

Japanese people enjoy it like espresso.
They also like to pour it over ice cream.
>>
>>15907239
gay is bad, so yes i'll stop drinking something if it's gay. and by gay i mean bad or wrong
>>
>>15909496
Matcha is good and right. It's tasty in a subtle way, and it gives you almost a body high after drinking it. It's not gay at all.
>>
>>15907171
>What are your thoughts on matcha??? Is it gay??
Only if you consider the entire population of Japan to be gay.
>>
>>15909496
i'm trans btw.
>>
>>15910249
They kinda r tho
>>
>>15911777
But not in the western sense so it's okay bro. Just embrace it.
>>

Do you live somewhere Amazon hasn’t heard of?
>>
>>15907171
It’s only gay if you act all gay about it.
Are you being all gay about it, anon?
