Shill your favorite beers here.Pic: the best double IPA I've experienced so far. €16 for a bottle which is beyond ridiculous, but by god was it good.
>>14483613Best beer ever made
>>14483613This isn't the best I've ever had, but it's my favorite go-to.
For me it's:Weihenstephaner VitusWells Banana Bread BeerHamm's
>>14483613>€16 for a bottle which is beyond ridiculous, but by god was it good. That's called the placebo effect
My go to. Anything else itt is for fatass fagets
>>14483817I get where you're coming from but it was genuinely incredible. Radically different from all double IPAs I tasted before or after it. The price was fucking absurd (and the triple IPA version was even more expensive, something like €22 or €24) but it really was unlike anything else I've ever had, in a good way.
Imagine drinking bitter alcohol swillfucking lol at faggots who fell for the alcohol meme
>>14483853There are actually good versions of seltzers now. Try it out
>>14483613>double IPAIt wasn't even Indian the first time
Went looking for alternatives to my usual Yuengling and High Life, found this. Been drinking it pretty much exclusively for a year.
I want to try old rasputin but that shit isn't available here reee
>>14483790too light and airy for my taste.
>>14483911It's pretty decent. I wouldn't get too hyped.
>>14483613Normally I shill for Weihenstephaner but I've been enjoying this one again latelyThis is a beer I have enjoyed when I was younger and it is still something I enjoy nowI think all people who are trying to get into beer should try it onceIt doesn't have that inital bitter taste of beer and the alcohol content is very lowBut seriously drink Weihenstephaner
>>14483613What do anons think of Voodoo Ranger Imp IPA? At 19 fl oz and 9% alc for 2/3.50 it's the cheapest and tastiest way to get hammered in 2020.
>>14483613In the can with the widget
>>14483613€16 isn't that much, that battle is huge. The price per litre is probably the same as other IPAs
>>14485370okay well then what beer will get me more drunk than 9% at 40oz for 3.50?
Why does it feel better to not drink for a week than it is to drink everyday? Am I using up my endorphins/dopamine?
>>14485332I keep shilling that one here. It's good bang for buck, $10 for a 6-pack here. It's not my #1 favorite beer but it's a damned fine choice and a bargain if I want to get dopey without having to drink a whole pack of 5-6% beers
>>14485406Something like that. Same way I enjoy fapping once a week instead of everyday.
I wish they still made this cause it is absolutely delicious. For 112 ibus you can hardly tell.
>>14483880Their seasonal beers are usually pretty tasty too.
this stuiff all day every dayto bad i am in exile and they barely sell outside city limits
>>14485937The summer ale was cancelled a few years back. Now they just have the stupid Dels Shandys. The Octoberfest and Porter are still around I think.
Stumbled across this. Reminded me of how good IPAs used to be 10+ years ago before the invasion of the American IPA. No citrusy flavours, refreshingly bitter with the bitterness counteracted by a pleasant maltiness in the background. It seems most English brewers have jumped on the American IPA bandwagon and are sending out beers brewed with American hops to supermarkets. American hops can fuck right off.
>>14485953I'm in the same situation - will be moving back in two months though.
>>14483790just had blue moon awhile ago, its pretty good for an ale>>14485332Voodoo Ranger is pretty good as well especially considering how high alc it is. I don't know what I'm drinking yet but drinking today
>why yes, I do have a large collection of craft beers, how could you tell?
>Check out local """"variety"""" packs>IPA>IPA>Double IPA>SourWhy must they do this to me
>>14486682probably cause IPAs sell well and are hard to fuck upbut hey, at least they have sours

>>14487136Based and bropilled.
>>14483613For me it's pic related
>>14483613Fucking love this shit, it has this slightly sweet flavor that’s really nice with the bitterness. Always sold out everywhere I try to find it though

>>14483613I hate beer, so sour and bitter and full of sugar
>>1448831630 cans for $13. That is 43 cents a can. Would you pay 43 cents for any other beverage? Even water costs more than that.

>>14492252Vodka has to been somehow filtered, but not spirytus. It's just an extremely high distilled grain spirit.
>>14492252Anything above 20% abv inherently tastes like poisonous shit unless you mix it with something else.

>>14492482They don't have to filter it. The high rectification makes the spirit already very pure. At 95% the spirit can't really contain any other alcohols in worrying amounts, because most of them got lost in the rectification process.
>>14486344British IPA btfo’s American IPA. Americans need to stop radically altering other nations’ beers and then acting like they invented the style. Faggots.
>>14492638At least they are pretty bad copycats, because they exaggerate every style they mimic into absurdity.
>>14492264>>14492482Take it from a home distiller. Spiritus is just what you get straight from an industrial continuous still, or possibly a reflux still. There’s no point filtering it.

>>14494151barrel aged stoutsIPAs are good too though, stop being a child
>>14494151My favorite beer of all time is an Russian imperial stout, but my favorite styles are strong Belgian ales, Dubbels and Tripels, Quads are a bit much for me.I agree completely though, I live in San Diego, the IPA capital of the world. It's like a game here, to see how much hops someone can cram into a beer before your mouth permanently puckers into an anus.
>>14493849Barrel aged Rasputin is phenomenal. I had it on tap years ago and was blown away. I'm not sure how wide Central waters distributes, but pick up any of their barrel aged beers. My favorite so far has been Cassian sunset

My go to is Japanese or Mexican commodity, but I want to cut down on beer. On the Mexican side, Modelo is drinkable. On the Japanese side, I cycle between Sapporo, Kirin and Asashi. Real beer here
>>14501886Some trans piss
I like malty, I like sour, I like salty, I like roasty bitterness, I like funky, I like fruity. I like all the fucking flavors except hops and it pisses me off that 80% of all offerings are IPAs to satisfy the juvenile one-up-manship of beardy bros trying to outdank each other with how much concentrated cat piss they can choke down. Fucking annoying as shit and I wish hops could go back to being what it originally was, a bitter-tasting necessity used only as needed to preserve the beer.
>>14501886Looks nice. Is it good?>>14501978I understand how you feel, but there are still a fair few stouts, sours, fruit beers, and lagers to choose from. Do you like gose beers?
>>14502007yeah goses are GOAT. I discovered Mas Agave a few weeks ago and I've leveled up my alcoholism like 3 times since then.
>>14501978>I like malty, I like sour, I like salty, >I like all the fucking flavors except hops We have the opposite tastes. I don't like much maltiness, I hate sour, I hate salty (gose is the worst), but I love strongly hopped IPAs and a nice bitterness.I do find it a bit odd to say "hop flavor" though. There's a lot of hops out there and they can taste very different. Some are very pine-like, others citrus-like or other fruit flavors. I've had two different IPAs tonight that couldn't taste more distinct from each other (voodoo ranger and a double IPA called Paradise Lost by SPB)Which IPAs do you recall not enjoying the hops of?
>>14502056Mas Agave is pretty good, though pretty strong for a gose and isn't really typical of them. Anderson Valley Brewing co makes some good goses. They are unfortunately a little bit of an oddball for most brewers it seems and rarely will you see a brewer make more than 1 or 2. >>14502073>hate gosesCome on now.Not that guy obv. I am okay with IPA's, though they aren't really a favorite. Of the ones that I like a bit more, they tend to do that hazy or fruity thing a bit more.
>>14502131I have tried 2 goses. First I had a local one, Cucumber Lime Gose by Urban South. Thought it tasted like shit but my friends enjoyed it.Months later, I decided to give goses a shot again, tried Cigar City's Margarita Gose. Just couldn't enjoy it. Tasted way too sour and nasty, and to add insult to injury, it was only 4%
>>14502160I do think we might just have different tastes, as I did like the margarita gose. If you want something that is different and higher abv, you can try that Mas Agave gose from Founders. It's like 9-10% iirc and is pretty good. Not really like other goses, more like a margarita.
>>14502185Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for that Founders gose. I'd recommend you some IPAs, but the best examples I know of are double IPAs, and the ones I've had probably aren't widely available. One thing they probably all have in common though is a nice creamy texture and a very full flavor profile. Very luxurious
>>14494151Belgian Strong Ale by a mile.
>>14492611Ha, that was a horrible image for me to pick. It's pitch black, though.
>>14502241I'd be okay with some recs. If I can't find them I can't find them. I've had Founders IPA and some of New Belgium's stuff that I like (hazy IPA and sour IPA). Most of the other IPA stuff I have enjoyed is local enough that if I tell you it, you will know my hometown.
>>14502241This guy gets it. The best IPA's have lots of hops but an even stronger malt profile to balance it out. I don't drink many though, because the more you do, from my experience, the more hops become mundane and you crave hoppier drinks. From that perspective I kind of get the craze.
>>14494151Lambic without a doubt.
>>14499906Honestly, I need to try em both side by side. Unfortunately Peeper has vanished from shelves. I wish they didn't do so many IPAs though so I could see what their other styles taste like.
I don't like this but it's fairly popular where I live for some reason
>>14483613I've started to really gravitate towards Sapporo lately and I have no clue why.
>>14504559it's the can
>>14501080I recently got into wine. Lucked out that my local liquor store has a couple employees going through some wine education programs or something. All I know is they've recommended me some incredible whites that I would have never known about. And unlike beer, always go European. They're much stricter on additives and the proper percentage of grapes for said wine.
Such a shame there's very few beers with juniper, it really is an excellent taste.

Fuck the haters, I just want something light and crisp with how hot it is. Yuengling or Narragansett is about as heavy as I want to go, even then, it's probably gonna be Miller Light or honestly, whatever is decently priced.
>>14497300nah even the cheapest czech piss is decent stuff - even the beer that comes in 2l plastic bottles
>>14499151>Man that looks good, I wonder where the brewery is>Other side of the countryfuck
>>14505202If I want something light and crisp, I'll go for something non-alcoholic like sparkling water. If I want to enjoy a beer, I need something highly hopped and boozy.
>>14494151For me, it's stout.Don't matter if it's a basic bitch Guinness draught for a nice smooth sip at the end of a long day or a fancy Imperial stout for those cold winter nights you want something a little special.
>>14499906its somewhat common in Milwaukee area liquor stores, wouldn't count on them being super fresh though
>>14502007Had it last night. Extremely acquired first sip. But eventually I got used to it. Wouldn’t pick it up again, but it wasn’t garbage, just not for me
>>14505484To each his own, I'm not a snob on either end of the spectrum
>>14505202Snobs are fags who basically trained themselves to not be able to enjoy things anymore just to earn the respect of other fags, drink what you like, a good cheap lager in the summer heat is a great way to unwind.
>>14505872"snobs" don't hate shitty light beer, they just realize it tastes almost like nothing and a lot of really tastey stuff is all over the place so why waste your time with nothing. Drinking a light lager is basically like drinking a unflavored white claw, just mildly alcoholic seltzer water, of course this can be refreshing in very hot and sweaty situations, but there are always better choicesThe idea that people like good beer only because of some desire to earn respect is absolutely ridiculous
>>14504588>And unlike beer, always go European. For some fucking reason like 80% of wines I find here are imports from Chile.
>>14505914I've heard halfway decent things about south american stuff but am mostly focused on european. American stuff is way too in your face with oak and everything. The European stuff is much more gentle and easy. Also doesn't give me gnarly headaches
>>14505567I'm on the border. Usually hit up Hudson liquor stores if I ever get the urge
>>14505911There's nothing wrong with liking good beer, the point where it becomes snobbery is when you start shitting on other people for drinking anything but some obscure $5 per bottle craft beer.Sometimes a big old 30 pack of Corona is just what the doctor ordered.
>>14505978craft beer isn't obscure man
>>14505978>Sometimes a big old 30 pack of Corona is just what the doctor ordered. The only time it is appropriate to drink Corona is if someone else buys it and hands it to you
>>14506062And it's only appropriate to buy it when you've got a bunch of people coming over and you just need something cheap and alcoholic to offer
>buying Corona for your guestsTerrible hosts you faggots are, have you no shame?
>>14506053At this point picking a craft beer is just default here. There's 32 breweries just in Minneapolis here, and another 16 in St. Paul. And then all the ones in the suburbs and further.

>>14505971All the cheapest stuff in US grocery stores seems to be Australian.
>>14508926This has turned painfully average since the Lagunitas takeover. Last great one I had was pre-2010.
>>14509061The cheapest stuff in my area is probably Woodbridge or barefoot. Rex Goliath is like 5$ too
>>14488316I slammed some of those with the boys this weekend. Good stuff.
WHERE MY GULF NIGGAS AT
>>14489977moving to miami next weekfill me in on the need to know info, brother
I love me some fancy craft shit but sometimes what you really need is just an ice cold basic lager.
if anyone here is in/from dublin, tell me where to get real nice beerI like the generic stuff like hop house 13 and smithwicks and whatnot but I feel like trying special stuff. like 85% of the beers I find in grocery stores is just different brands of basic IPA
>>14501905Stella Artois is better.
>come to /ck/>fall for the steel reserve meme>go to liquor store since can't be sold in stores>they don't have it>end up with 4 bottles of liquor and no beerThanks utah
>>14511475You’re better off
>>14511484Probably, wanted pic related but it's $20 and I only want the bottle. Ended up with 2 bottles of cherry vodka on sale, cheap gin, and a bottle of rum. Is steel reserve that bad? Considering that for the price of 5 beer bottles I can get a smallish bottle of most cheaper liquors it just doesn't make sense.
>>14505914Chileans make some of the best wine. Try Carménère, it's mostly made in Chile and it's my favorite red wine. I reccommend the Carménère from Viu Manent
>>14511480Literally everyone including you uses reddit these days. Don't even try to pretend you don't I will lick the every loving fuck out of you.
>>14511661Don't get me wrong I'm not saying these chilean wines are bad (not that I know anything about wine, they all taste more or less the same to my untrained palate), just that it's kinda surprising how much chilean stuff there is on sale hereit's Europe so I'd expect to see more spanish, french, italian wines and whanot
>>14511702>I will lick the every loving fuck out of you.l-lewd
>>14485953Warst du auch bei der Brauerei Besichtigung, Bernd? Bernstein ist mein persönlicher Favorit aber Gründer ist auch nicht schlecht. Bist du dauerhaft ausgewandert? Wohin?
>>14510233Is that based on the band?
>>14483613Definetly not a everday beer but a special occasion drink.Probably one of the weirdest beers you ever drink... tastes like malt, nut and is freaking amazing. Also it hits you like a truck way way faster than you expect.. expensive though.
If I could only live with these for the rest of my life, I'd be a happy man.
>>14512273Looks like you're proudly holding a giant dick in your hand, faggot. Drinking that shit made you a queer.
Thank god for bavaria, this shit is good. They have perfected that banana flavour i like about weissbier and it doesn't taste watery after some sips

>brand known almost exclusively because of the stout>said stout is the worst of all the beers they makeWhy is Guinness so overrated
enjoying a fort george suicide squeeze ipa. not generally into ipas but this is good
When did the words "pale ale" came to mean "beer that tastes like a tropical juice mix"?
>>14516131when people realized that modern hops are better that old school hops
>>14517092Citrusy hops are amazing.
>>14485406Yeah, but part of the enjoyment is the shift from sober to buzzed too. Letting yourself sober up and your tolerance go down a bit makes that shift more noticeable and fun.
I know nothing about beer but I tried Allagash White and it was incredible, kinda spoiled other brands for me. Any suggestions?
>>14517107>Citrusy hops are amazing.
Miller high life
Step aside pussy ass faggots, THIS is a beer.
>>14517198Whatever's local. Fresh beer is best
>>14517485Not in the case of Lambic/mixed fermentation.
>>14517496They didn't ask about lambic. Also breweries usually age those themselves before release, and you should still know what a fresh batch vs an aged batch is like. I never understood people aging a beer they have yet to try. You have nothing to compare it to
>>14511475Could you have taken a larger image?
>>14517221Man of culture.
>>14501080>>14501527Imagine being this much of a tastelet and thinking beer > wine.Good fucking lord you better neck yourselves.

>>14518108>t. elitist faggot who fell for the "wine is hard" memehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PeKcWCC-tw
>>14518369Based. Wine snobs are utter cringe.
>>14518703Craft beer fags are worse.
>>14518739nah, thats a really dumb take. Craft beer prices are at least mostly based on quality and the ingredients that go it. Most craft beer drinkers could easily tell the difference of a beer that comes in a $20 four pack, vs a $10 six pack, vs a $20 30 rack
>>14516131When Americans got involved.
>>14518753Beer ingredients cost like nothing. Same with whisky. People are just talking bullshit. And if you're overpaying grains, you're just a retard.
>>14519248>Same with whisky.Whiskey costs a lot because it's a huge upfront, long-term investment in a product that's both in high demand and has a quality-sensitive buyer's market.Sorry, but you're the retard here.
>>14519248That's not true. If you want quality grain and hops you pay extra for it, just like everything in life. Not to mention specific grains and hop strains cost more than others or require extra processing labor that also adds to the cost. You're dumb
>>14519499You sound like a marketer's dream.
Do any of you sloppy faggots brew your own beer?
