>>10887816i've noticed the more ita the comm is the more likely they let in AGP/sissy creeps. genderspecials tend to be really ita and more accepting of them, and they can't tell he looks like a creep because he's just a greasy male version of their greasy ita selves. it's not just that they view them as brave transwomen or enbies or whatever, these creeps are part of the ostracized group of taobao itas with them. that's why reddit has the highest proportion of these creeps, they have the most itas.
>>10887629>>10887835It's very obviously a replica, look at the matching bow on the blouse
>>10887646
>>10887841Yup. Geek Social Fallacies. But the reason Reddit in particular is inundated with these creeps isn’t because it has more itas, but because Reddit is a creep-owned website that actively bans women who don’t coddle creeps. They literally hired a ddlg pedophile sissy who was publicly and intimately connected to a horrific case of real child sex abuse to moderate their website and only got rid of him (or pretended to) when there was a site-wide uproar about it and it attracted outside attention. Even if there was a lolita subreddit with high standards whose mods actively tried to filter out sissies, the sissies only have to go crying to the higher-ups to get the whole sub removed for “hateful activity”. Reddit is unsalvageable.

>>10888422>French commYou just answered your own question.
>>10888423> Unfitting Shoes> Animal Cookie JSK> Unmatching glasses> Horrid Wig> Unmatching Blouse
>>10888428Ayrt, I have no problem with the Angelic Forest animal cookie dress. The blouse is just a white blouse, it's literally fine. And "matching glasses" isn't a thing. That would be like insisting on a matching wheelchair or a matching prosthetic limb. Yeah, the wig is crappy, I'll give you that. I can't really tell about the shoes. I think it's the awkward crouch more than anything.
>>10888449Nayrt, the dress is poorly designed, there is such a thing as the style of the glasses clashing with the rest of the outfit. That glasses are a "disability aid" or whatever the phrase is these days is such a dumb excuse for clashing glasses. Firstly contact lenses exist, if someone can't or doesn't want to wear them they still have the option of buying frames that actually suit whatever style they wear. Her frames look horrible with sweet lolita, and if she intends on wearing sweet lolita as her main style then at the very least she can get frames that don't clash as much. The blouse looks shitty quality. The bag matches in color but isn't very lolita appropriate in its design. She really looks ita and it's not just the wig.
>>10888449>And "matching glasses" isn't a thing.as someone who wears glasses and is legally blind no, it is a thing. you can buy $30 bifocals online. there is no excuse not to have cute and functional glasses, especially when you're trying to wear lolita. and wearing glasses is NOT a fucking disability.
>>10888449> "matching glasses" isn't a thing. That would be like insisting on a matching wheelchair or a matching prosthetic limbI’m guessing you at least don’t wear glasses if you’re this brain dead. Cute glasses and cute accessories for glasses have been around since forever so I don’t know where you’ve been the past 10 years. Also comparing glasses to prosthetic limbs or wheelchairs is actually retarded. prosthetic limbs and wheelchairs can’t be as aesthetically pleasing because there constantly being used for a disability. wearing glasses isn’t commonly used for disabilities (depending on the persons eyesight) and aren’t being as frequently worn. Somebody with a prosthetic limb is almost constantly having to wear the body part so it would be inconvenient for it be over-accessorized/in a pastel color as it would get dirty and worn overtime. Tik tok zoomers need to stay away from cgl.
>>10888466>prosthetic limbs can’t be as aesthetically pleasingexplain this
>>10888449She looks like she’s got a little bit of a stronger prescription so she might need to order directly through her optometrist but there’s clear frames that suit sweet lolita from virtually ever company.
>>10888466I agree with your overall point but it’s strange to argue that wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs are used more often than glasses. If you need glasses to see then you’re probably wearing them all day, while most people I know who use wheelchairs only use them part of the day or some days. In fact, the one woman I know who’s fully wheelchair bound and only gets out (with help) to use the bathroom and sleep has her electric chair fully decorated with crocheted bags and decorations. It’s not ideal because things do get dirty, but it makes her happy. Some prostheses are also purely cosmetic and aren’t worn unless the user is going to be out in public, unlike glasses.Personally I made sure to get frames that fit well with my style of clothing BECAUSE I wear my glasses all day every day and can’t be arsed to take them off for photos or whatever. Though it helps that I don’t wear OTT sweet I guess.>>10888483Imagine losing a leg and still being expected to wear such high heels afterwards. Bleak.
>>10888494nta but unless you have terrible eyes like me, most people i know who have glasses only use them when absolutely necessary like for driving or at work. and these are people with like -3 to -4 prescriptions. unless your eyes are terrible or you're in school they're not quite as necessary as people seem to think. and i say this as someone who can only see a few cm away without mine. and i have a few pairs of cute ones i bought online for cheap, since i like the variety. and even if i wasn't matching them with coords i would have a few pairs.

>>10888010Probably her
>>10888423The cat plush is actually a bag and is cute for general jfashion but this coord is a wreck, sorry about your shit taste
>>10888449I literally have an expensive prescription. But I do get extra glasses from places like Zenni that work when my main pair does not. Even then, I'm still paying $60-70+ for another pair. I feel like if you can afford this fashion, you generally can afford at least a pair of extra glasses. It's just a good idea to have an extra pair anyway. It might be rough for a young student buying their items from taobao to afford two pairs, but certianly if you're older and prioritizing your fun money into this fashion you should probably be able to get a pair. If you've got a matching bag or matching pair of shoes, why not glasses? One can't easily swap out prosthetic limbs wheelchairs.Doesn't mean you need a pair for every coordinate, but getting a pair that works for other colors or substyles isn't out of the question in a hobby focused around building a wardrobe.

>>10888514what the fuck are those
>>10888546that's not correct actually. eye issues are due to improper eye shape which isn't dependent on glasses or not. all that happens when you don't wear them is that you can get headaches when trying to read far away. please look it up next time before you post. and i never said i did it so i have no idea why you're mentioning misinformation to me.

re: glasses discussion, I don't get the idea that it's a chore to have matching glasses because you need special super stylized glasses just for lolita, just get something neutral? I have a pair of thin gold frames like picrel and they match everything. For some reason I always see itas with the chunky black rectangular frames that are associated with socially inept men and I don't see how those are ever flattering unless you're intentionally going for the nerdy bookish look. >>10888550I'm pretty sure you're right, my optometrist would constantly reiterate that "glasses are just tools" and can't actually change the internal issues.

>>10888870It's really not that bad imo. I got new frames and lenses in 2017 from a local store, the frames suit all of my lolita wardrobe, I had to get my lenses made thinner which did cost more but looked bad if I didn't. Frames + lenses came out to be 700 ish $. Most expensive glasses I had ever gotten, but also the most beautiful ones I had ever owned. I needed new lenses in 2022 and was absolutely sure I wanted to keep using the same frames so I just had the same store put new lenses in the old frames. It came out to be 250$ this time. You can get much lower prices if you buy online. I've seen similar frames under 50$, and lenses under 100$ with the same specs.

Sneakers in lolita can look good, your just in a retarded mindset thinking that only shoes with 89 different buckles are suitable for an average lolita.>>10889068You must wear a size 5 shoe if you think rhs are “fairly” comfortable.
>>10889135>You must wear a size 5 shoe if you think rhs are “fairly” comfortableNayrt but what does your shoe size have to do with it? I wear a US 9 and find mine extremely comfortable
>>10889138I'm the anon they replied to and I also wear a 9. They're essentially platform flats kept in place with a strap, so they're really no more uncomfortable than regular flats, as long as you're careful where you step and don't walk on uneven ground.
>>10889135nayrt, there are various comfortable lolita shoes available, for example simple mary janes. The shoes don't have to have high heels or big platforms or loads of straps/buckles. There's loads of options for gothic lolita and classic lolita from regular stores. But even sweet isn't impossible. Some people think tea party shoes are very comfortable. I personally don't think they're horrible but I prefer my pair of offbrand ankle boots (for classic) with an edwardian design, I can walk all day on those.I have a lolita friend who says her rhs are her most comfortable shoes ever. Hers were from a brand that doesn't exist anymore (not bodyline). It just depends on your foot size and shape and how well the shoe works with that. There's no excuse to wear sneakers with lolita, and imo 99% of the time sneakers don't suit any lolita aesthetic (including casual lolita). The comfort argument is bs. sorry. Wear sneakers if you like the look of them, not because they're more comfortable than lolita shoes. I can guarantee you there are lolita appropriate shoes that are comfortable and aren't sneakers. My idea of casual lolita is just a less formal version of regular lolita. So my image of that is, for example, a simple skirt + cutsew coord with a head bow (instead of a headdress or bonnet), or a cutsew worn under a jsk, or a cutsew OP with simple accessories.
>>10889145we have this convo every ita thread, but there are cute sneakers released by j fashion brands that work fine with casual/sweet. it's just that people always wear the ugliest most beat up grocery store sneakers money can buy. and it's never really about comfort, it's about being too cheap to spend 80-100 on lolita friendly shoes. that's why they don't buy the cute sneakers, or the cute flats, or the mary janes-- the average ita would rather die than spend more than $50 on any one item if that. same reason they always have cheap blouses and cheap accessories and any brand dresses they have are unpopular prints that go cheaply secondhand. it's about being cheap and either being unwilling to commit to budgeting for the hobby or delusional about how far their financial means can get them. if you're poor, that sucks, and i'm sorry, but you will never be able to make a cute coordinate if you're not willing to drop >50-100USD on some staple pieces. using cheap taobao on staples like blouses, refusing to buy proper shoes, and only ever spending money on main pieces has to be the most common mistake itas make these days. you see an ita with brand on and it's always a brand main being ruined by garbage cheap blouses and socks and then sneakers. either cheap tacky accessories or brand accessories with a mismatched theme. itas get caught up buying flashy secondary items with specific themes, and unless you have a themed wardrobe it just results in constantly mismatched themes and motifs. if this is you, please take my advice: do not buy any more mains until you own at least 2-3 blouses from a japanese brand. preferably cotton. something that will match as much of your mains as possible. avoid princess sleeves, they look awful shoehorned into a coord. buy a pair of lolita shoes. even taobao has options. get a color that matches most of your things. buy some plain, solid accessories in your colors. you'll get way further

If you have trouble fitting in japanese standard brand blouses, you can buy from Metamorphose, Atelier Pierrot or Maxicimam. The latest is amazing if you're into old school, this is a very underrated brand imo. Innocent world L size is also an actual european L.You can also get nice blouses from decent taobao brands like Surfacespell, Dear Celine, KidsYoyo or Infanta (their prints may not always be amazing but their blouses and underskirts are great). These usually cost around 50 bucks, not 15 tho. Either way, you have to spend money on accessories.

As long as it isn't jarring or eye-catching, its fine for people to wear normal shoes--especially since taobao shoes are so consistently uncomfortable. If anyone nitpicks over it, thats their problem.
>>10889326nayrt, you can get comfortable shoes that actually suit lolita that aren't sneakers. Several brands who specifically make shoes to be comfortable and supportive have made simple mary janes and oxfords. A while ago a list was shared on CGL. What the shoes have in common is that most (if not all) of them were real leather and had comfortable foot bed (and possible space for insoles). The way you talk about sneakers focuses on the comfort angle, not the aesthetics, which suggest you don't like what they look like with lolita either but you're willing to put up with it for the comfort. I'm telling you there are better options. Some people also put their orthopedic insoles into their tea party shoes for example, and they say it makes the world of difference for long days with lots of walking/standing. I think that's still not as good as an actual comfortable leather shoe. The only valid excuse for the use of sneakers with lolita is that you actually like the aesthetic. Anything else is just a cop out.
>>10889341my budget isnt tight, but i do have feet that make it very difficult to find comfortable shoes. I have a pair of cotton candy feet, and I found them less comfortable than a pair of antaina heels i own. insoles dont help much either-- its specifically the shape of my foot. even breaking sneakers in takes forever, so im not going to bother with getting another pair. i keep them clean, theyre a cute pair, and they fit my coords well enough.
>>10889326skill issue. i've walked 6+ hours in heeled burando shoes no problem. get insoles. if you really think dingy sneakers are the only comfortable option i can only assume you've never so much as tried on shoes intended for lolita
>>10889326I own several pairs of very comfortable medium heeled mary janes that I walk around in for several hours a day and my feet are awful too. Good quality leather shoes and orthopaedic insoles make all the difference, sneakers are just lazy
>>10889326No, girlie, Bodyline shoes are very comfortable. You can easily do 6+ hours on them, and basically all thick heels that are between 1 and 2 inches are perfectly wearable for a full day. Sneakers aren't the end all be all of comfortable shoes.
>>10889276maybe im just too much of a tumblrina but idk why people in here like transvestigate random lolitas who are not confirmed fetishists like sometimes girls are just ugly and bad at wearing clothes. that being said this one is likely a sissy just judging by the pieces being worn here. if not just really unfortunate lol

>>10889382>>10889383>no uWeakest comeback in the book
>>10889343Ayrt, What is the shape of your foot?I have what I would call "difficult feet". The front of my foot is very wide and my heel is regular width. You just have to figure out what works for you. It's not easy for me to find non lolita shoes that fit. 9 times out of 10 I can't just take something off the store shelf in my size and actually fit well. I look for shoes that look wide, and then usually size up half a size or even a whole size. Or I look for shoes that come in a larger width than the standard last width. Real leather is the superior material for comfort and fit because it molds to your feet over time. You can also bring it to a cobbler to get a specific tight spot widened. I have sneakers and running shoes (but have never resorted to wearing them with lolita) and they aren't even the most comfortable shoes I own. I have a pair of army boots with extra cushy insoles that walk like a dream now they're broken in. Those are the shoes I would pick if I had to walk the whole day. I have a few pairs of shoes from brands that sell "comfort shoes" and that came in wider widths, those would be my second choice for walking all day. I picked out some vintage styles for those, but I've also seen some gothic appropriate shoes from those brands and some simple mjs that you can use for lolita. There are also brands that don't market themselves as a "comfort shoe" brand, but who offer wider width versions of their regular offerings. Their catalog changes with the trends, so when platform soles are in that's what they have. Furthermore if a shoe is too big at any specific point you can buy a pack of stick in cushions. For the toe box, for the heel, the sides, etc.
>>10889343Ayrt, continued: I use similar tactics when buying lolita shoes from lolita specific stores. I look for shoes that look like they have a wide toe box, I often size up half to one size. I put in cushions in any part that's too big. If the shoe doesn't have a soft foot bed but it does have space for insoles I add insoles. Sometimes I want shoes that don't look very wide, so I just buy them and if they don't fit and I can't make them fit then I sell them. I have found lolita appropriate real leather mjs from a non lolita brand and bought those, they were my go to shoe for a while. I don't compromise style or comfort and neither should you. It just takes a while to find the shoes.
>>10889388I am similar in that i have a wider front, but I also have a really high arch which can make shoes feel very painful if they arent super super cushy and comfy. Most sneaker brands also dont feel comfortable, even those designed to, so it's been a real struggle lol. Its not a thing of laziness for me, or 'giving up' after not finding the right shoe. I've spent a lot of money on finding what works for me and I'm not going to shill out a hundred dollars on a new pair of shoes when I know they wont be comfortable enough to accommodate my specific needs just because some gulls think its ita. I really appreciate your help, though. Thank you for the tips & feedback! If I ever find myself needing cuter shoes, I'll look into it.
i dont understand the thought process of spending hundreds on a brand JSK/OP but cheapening out/cutting corners with other parts of a coord (like not even having something as simple as a petticoat). You're already gonna look strange wearing lolita so at least put in effort to go all the way and complete the look/look good in it.
>>10889399If you have a high arch and find that the straps on strappy shoes are often a bit too small/snug, you can either see if the straps are long enough to punch a few extra holes or order longer straps with your shoes (antaina will do this!). You can also get strap extenders for leather shoes, your local cobbler might be able to do that for you. It usually looks like a piece of elastic that hides under the strap.
>>10889414>Because even men who supposedly *totally* arent fetishists wind up being fetishistsThis is why I trust none of them have pure intentions. Been in the fashion for over 15 years and noticed it's pretty much a sure thing that if a man wears lolita he's a fetishist and it's just a matter of time before it gets out.
>>10889414nayrt anon isn't talking about men, she's talking about femcel nonnas immediately assuming any ugly/unfortunate woman is secretly a man. bio women can be ugly too.
>>10889432I don't blame them for being a bit paranoid when men are actually trying to surreptitiously infiltrate our comms.
>>10889442i guess, but there's a point where it's just misogyny
>>10889446nayrt but surely you are dumb, cgl may be half coomers but we are on a thread for critiquing a women’s fashion… all the posters are women…
>>10887966Pretty sure that's a different creep from the one in the photo
>>10889445It's not misogyny. Maybe "lookism", but not misogyny, because the men are being treated much worse in this instance. That's the whole point: to exclude men. Sad that uggos with manly features are sometimes mistaken for men, but woman-hating isnt the driving force here
>>10889455>>10889454Whoops, didn't mean to reply to you specifically nonna
>>10889422>the average sneaker defenderwhen you argue for sneakers in lolita, this is how we all imagine you
>>10889353Exactly. There are an absolute plethora of shoes to choose from. There is literally no excuse. People complain about how lolita shoes are uncomfortable but run around in doc martens that they need 3 years to break into and how it keeps giving them blisters. Or these chunky heavy boots. I will stand on this soap box until I die.
>>10889391kek i know what comm he's from. he's not even a troon, just an ita crossdresser with a shitty bunny bag and blonde wig. i really wish comms would be more strict and exclude those kind of members (aka males). they never add anything valuable.
>>10889454the idea that any woman that doesn't meet a certain level of attractiveness is a man is classic misogyny, just painted as concern trolling. just say you don't want ugly girls in lolita. crying moid whenever an obvious woman is just unfortunate looking does nothing but make everyone take you less seriously when theres a real sissy around.
>>10889495This, am a radfem and despise this behavior. So many women have the entitlement that othrr women should be attractive to them personally or they must be men. It's like, are you male brained or something?? Cut it the fuck out, you're shadowboxing.
>>10889448>NO MEN ALLOWED this is our WOMAN ONLY SPACE for CALLING EACH OTHER FAT UGLY BITCHES!why would men want in on this
>>10889424This! I can't stand seeing people shell out for extravagant, brand, main pieces just to wear a normie button up, plain or cheap tights, and sneakers to top it off.
>>10889457I legit have never seen someone who claims she HAS to wear sneakers “because muh feet” who isn’t obese. I know they probably exist and maybe they’re all in this thread right now but when there’s names/photos attached to the posts it’s always fat girls. Being overweight really does fuck up your joints, I guess.>>10889507Every type of women’s gathering is just another porn category to men, and the harder women try to keep men out, the more they want in. I have ftm friends who complain about “amabs” infiltrating their ftm support group where they compare beards and shit. No space is sacred, no matter how dumb.
>>10889508plain tights I think should be given a pass if the coord or overall vibe allows for it, and the person is otherwise well put together. classic and old school look really nice with basic leg wear.
>>10889519Plain tights are underrated imo. If the main piece isn’t super OTT then someone who knows what she’s doing should be able to make plain tights or socks work. The problem is that itas often pick the brightest or most prominent colour in their main piece to match with solid colour tights so they end up looking too monochrome or use a garish colour that throws the whole thing off, or both.

>>10889943even so, matching the lavender to a microscopic speck on the print doesn't make it suddenly not unbalanced and clashy
>>10889967>microscopicthe lavender is decently prominent on the print, it's the polka dot pattern and frosting and foil color on some of the cupcakes

>>10888371is this that freckled zelda girl??
>>10889565she would look better in gothic
>>10889992i think the real issue is that pulling a color from a piece isn't really how you make a good coord. it's mistake a lot of lolitas make though. while lav is in the print, the secondary color is the darker pink, which doesn't look as good with lots of lav, same with the lime green. you have to take color balance from the piece itself and add to it. most prints have primary, secondary and tertiary colors so you really need to keep in mind what color is what to get a good balance. adding too much of a color used in it sparsely is going to make it look off. for that coord adding the lav in the socks was a great choice but everything lav is overboard and the pink blouse would look better if it were lighter pink actually, too break up the dark pink on the bodice. i know some people hate white blouses but here it would have worked, or a paler pink, with a pale pink bolero and darker pink shoes and then lav accessories would have made it perfect.
>>10890084Ditch the compression shirt giving her sausage arms and this would be fine for casual imo.

>>10890054anon anon was replying to-- this is what i was getting at when i said "microscopic". it's an accent color at best, and while she could've maybe used it for accessories, i think using it for the bolero and socks is disproportionate to how prominent the lavender is in the print. i agree with you that using pink for the blouse/shoes and lavender for accessories would've been much better. i also think pink socks/bolero and yellow shoes could've worked with lavender accessories.
>>10890084i think she needs head accessories and a proper blouse or cutsew (her wrists seem too plain, but i don't think wrist cuffs would work). atepie makes them in her size. maybe a necklace, but otherwise this is fine for casual gothic.
>>10890102if the lace didn't look so cheap i wouldn't hate this. but if the lace is that cheap looking i can't imagine what the fabric and construction is like.
