>28° weather this weekendfuck trying to cosplay
I though towers was the supreme nonce ruler of AGC cons lol do we attend them now again or what?
>>10879403Probably not, but as I say every time I just Google uk anime cons and a website with a list of cons pops up and I copy paste that here.
>>10879337I really do hope it's not going to be like this for MCM Expo next month.Especially as I'm gonna be cosplaying Jason Voorhees.
>>10879409Is MCM Expo a new event from MCM?
>>1087940930 degree weather in October would truly be the end times.
>>10879337i got your cosplay sorted lad
>>10879408those lists are infuriatingly lacking.Liverpool comic con is getting big. October 20th & 21st. look out for this helmet.
>>10879475Not a local to the UK But that's also what I tend to do when looking for cons when I visit. Is there nothing more current? Does this thread keep a spreadsheet?
>>10879479>Is there nothing more current? Does this thread keep a spreadsheet?no to both, not as far as i know.
Any of you fellas at Doki Doki Manchester today?
>>10879550See you there anon
>>10879479Because half the UK con scene hates the other, most of the hotel con goers hate the cheap and cheerful AL events, everyone says they hate the big expo events on their socials but got to them anyway. Hotel cons tend to be mired in bad management and drama, Expos have the most resources, and best organised but are tend to be light on good events, or at least events hotel con-goers care about (i.e. panels you can have a sneaky fap to, or parties to daterape someone ((hi dairy)) at) And a lot of people kinda jerk off to the US gaylord events because they have the scale of an expo with the "soul" of a hotel con.
WHY IS IT SO HOT
>>10879575I am not enjoying it either anon. It’s September, summer is done and needs to go home. Also my car is now covered in sand rain.
Wish I was in cosplay but glad I'm not. Sugden is a total of swamp. First anime convention to end in a malaria outbreak.
>>10879582you'd think a sports centre would have AIR CON
>>10879589Pity the poor bugger in the Char cosplay. I hope you enjoyed your Mcdonalds mate.
>>10879550>28c>cosplay in a packed sports centre with no ACDecided to work in a 16c envirobment instead. Fuck the heatwave. first year I skipped doki
>>10879575Hot weather in the UK is just SHIT because it's always humid as fuck. Can't stand it>>10879431this is also true, I doubt it will be this hot in October...I just want somewhat nice, chilly weather to return
>>10879599
Don't worry lads I heard it'll be much nicer today
>Faggot causes a shitstorm on the Ame discord by picking fights and screaming abuse>Gets called out for being a dick>Responds by calling everyone who won't suck his dick a bigot>Gets muted>Conversation moves on, everyone relieved>Trannie out of nowhere>"NOBODY ELSE UNDERSTANDS DISCRIMINATION BUT US YOU ALL SUCK."ffs, I hate this victim-whoring mentality, it's fucking cancer. I just want a comfy con space.
ame gotta get their team under control barking at people for no reason
>>10879722Other nationalities always make fun of us cos of our weather complaints but british heat is 100% different to any other heat. Full humidity at 30 degrees is beyond 45 c easily. Though as we now are getting 40 degree weather I’m not even sure we need to use the old argument
>>10879768>>"B-B-But safe guarding!"Literally what are they on about? Someone got misgendered by a gopher as they didn't pass. And someone has beef with someone about sexual assault and the committee is meant to do what? These people get given too much space. Literal cancer.
>>10879793"But don't report it to the police!!! Whatever you do!!!"
>>10879768Anon give me a disco link to that shitfest or a screenshot at least
>>10879783To be fair most of north-western europe has the same problem as we do as they are pretty humid places as well and AC is just as sparse.
>>10879793>Trannie sees a drunk passed out on the steps>Doesn't do anything>Sees same drunk still there hours later >Still does nothing>Complains about it on discord a month later>WHY DIDN'T COMMITTEE HELP DRUNK PERSON WHERE IS SAFEGUARDINGThe safeguarding 'issue' was literally that the committee wasn't aware of a drunk person, despite that a) it's a campus security issue and b) the trannie didn't bother to help the drunk either.
>>10879566>Hotel cons tend to be mired in bad management and dramaIn my day ... it was still chaotic and full of drama but the drama was usually hilarious and handled with out ... well drama. We even got a better quality of mismanagement because when people realised they'd screwed up they would improvise. Like the convention panel that didn't have PA but did have theses wheeled pallets for moving in PA so they turned the panel into cosplay human curling.>>10879550It was awesome and very poignant. ... and if i ever wondered what it would be like to sauna next to a bunch of cosplayers now I know.Seriously the 'sexy' cosplayers in the skimpy outfits were the smartest (and most comfortable there). It was definitely bikini weather.
>>10879802Cannae post screenshots without falling foul of the dox rule anon, even if the people on the screenshot deserve it. The Ame Discord link isn't private though, it's easy enough to find.People are starting to call out the trans brigade for abusing people, but are having to preface every comment by stating that they're not transphobic, otherwise the mob rips them apart. I don't have a high opinion of committee members and gophers, but they really don't deserve the shit these trannys are throwing at them. They're roasting them for not doing the job of the venue and campus security. I hope they all fall down some stairs.
Who cares, the ame committee treat everyone like shit and spent half of the con bitching about the university. I’m sure they can handle some criticism back
I hope we nuke or colonize the country that gave us this fucking weather, trains and buses were rammed even on a Sunday.
>>10879966>Blaming foreigners for chronic underinvestment in infrastructure by the governmentAhhh... now THIS is a British post.
>>10879966>Uses bus>Complains that people use the bus>???
Having been on the Discord I think safeguarding is an issue at Amecon because the people attending sound like actual retards.Surprised no one has suggested free tickets to marginalized trans furries yet.Someone is happy to teach everyone CPR though through a panel because Warwick cannot be trusted and phoning 999 would give everyone a panic attack. That's if they can find the room where the CPR is taking place.
>>10879926Seriously cant stand these low effort gorillahons giving good tranners a bad name.
>>10880016They need to pull their heads out of their asses. Are their staff and volunteers just showing up on the first day?Seems like the logical thing to do would be ask staff/gophers turn up the day before, have some training, go through shit, get sorted not groups, maybe help with getting everything sorted.Reward them with a little staff party pre-event or something.
>>10880032Legit feel sorry for some trans folk who just want to go about their business / have fun / see friends who have to share an identity with the most insufferable manchildren.Credit where credit is due the Discord mods have the patience of saints to read the hissy fits on their earlier and no just ban people.
>>10880036Wonder how many are just what used to be the weirdo drama queens but they now have a stick to hit people with.
>>10880036When ur a discord mod but you need to look LGBTQ+ friendly so you flag emote your own post.
>>10880048Guess you got me. Amecon confirmed for trans hate con.Troonkuns no longer welcome. Please don't come next year.
>>10880048This is why you need some hard as nails transmedicalist passoid mods to lay down the law on these fetishists larpers. Kinda like how they use ethnic cops to slam down other ethnic crooks. No opportunity for people to push an agenda.
>>10880036>One of them gets mad at the suggestion trannies should wear badges to identify them>Another one demands badges with pronouns on>They all clap and say it's a good ideaThe cognitive dissonance is incredible.
>>10880107Maybe we should just go full furry con with A4 laminated badges with pictures of peoples furrysonas and character backstory on them.
New MCM policy
>>10880316Good. fuck these chavvy thots.
>>10880316>>10880317Isn't this just for vendors and exhibitors using women in provocative clothing? Just being a cosplayer on the floor seem exempt to me.
>>10880360What's to stop an artist alley vendor cosplay as Tifa and get thrown out? Booth babes haven't been a thing at any convention for almost a decade.
>>10879579>my car is now covered in sand rain.my friend paid to wash his car a day before the dust storms.embrace the filth.
>>10880316>>10880360The great irony is that if you're on a booth you can't dress like a thot. But if your a "professional" cosplayer or a tran woman in a bunny suit attending the con and someone tells them to cover up that's slut shaming and will get you banned.
>>10880316fuck mcm forever. only been once, it was chaotic in a bad way and shit, never going to another one.
>>10880032if this isn't a troll you have to kill yourself now.>>10880107>cognitive dissonanceyou have hit the nail on the head. that is basically trans people summed up. it stems from social media, which exacerbates narcissism and creates an unrealistic image of themselves. absolutely lethal combination, 41% lethal I am told.
>>10880036legit feel sorry for some comparatively normal human beings who just want to go about their business, have fun and see friends who have to share a planet with the most insufferable narcissists.
>>10880414Maybe it's experience bias, but it feels like like the less effort they put into passing the more insufferable they are.A miniskirt and a pink pill dosen't fix everything after all.
>>10880366but they should totally make a comeback in my view. It's time to embrace the old ways of crude humour and raunchy in your face sexuality in the media. long live the 90s / 00s lolYou wouldn't get this in akihabara would you? Weebs complaining about scantily clad girls advertising local shops. From my point of view this is coming from outside the culture, from the normies.
>>10879883>Seriously the 'sexy' cosplayers in the skimpy outfits were the smartest (and most comfortable there). It was definitely bikini weather. There was no 'sexy' ones there m8.
>>10880407there are lots of fat, hairy moids doing an inosuke costume tbf.
>>10880469>There was no 'sexy' ones there m8.I don't know about that. If nothing else I thought some of the pro cosplayers they got in were hot.
Thoughts on the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child panel at MCM London? Seems to have upset a lot of the community
>>10880660looks like MCM hates both women and trans women equally
>>10880660Why?
>>10880689MCM staff picrel
>>10880660It's fine to say JKR is a cunt but I still feel throwing anyone associated with it, or stuff made without her involvement is kind of a dick move. Besides HP is popular despite what insane people on twitter or discord say.
How could MCM be so Based ?!?!?!?!Booth Babes being a No is fucked up, meanwhile States cons are full of fresh fatherless cunt.
secretcon was good
>>10881058Aren't they still elitist with cosplayers and photographers like Cosxpo?
>>10881058If you've been to any of the other Secretcon venues, how did this one compare?
wouldn't it be fun if people held the value of logical consistency above anything else?and spent their time trying to be logical and not hold on to self contradictory ideals?
>>10881204>Bocchi picIsn't that Anime for undiagnosed schizophrenics?
>>10881126didn't feel like it, everyone was nice>>10881198good, staff were very friendly and food was great>>10881222where do you think we are?
Are there any good vtuber cosplay meets for MCM?
>>10881058Ah, noncetog heaven.
>>10881291it's just the one noncetog actually
>>10881222>doesn't know what bocchi the rock is aboutisn't this website for people who watch anime?
>>10881379The imageboards have fallen. Millions don't try.
>>10881379Anon cosplayers decide what they wear based on twitter engagement and clout, not if they actually watch a show or not.
>>10881379youyou blackblack is noooo
>ENGLAND THREAD ENGERLAAAAND>first event is CardiffFuck off English flag shaggers
>>10883535Cool. I’m sure all the people on 4chan who aren’t from Great Britain care about those specifics when labelling or looking for country specific threads.
>>10883535more like ANGERLAAAANDlol!
>>10881126If this guy managed to get in I think anyone can.https://youtu.be/08IzNwQVwXg?si=3rd_tcrLRfoeyKUJ
>have been hiding for 3 years and raising my irl power level and have free time and cash now>finally want to cosplay again>even pre-booking MCM on may will cost 480quid for 3 days in a travelodge plus room (600-700+ on the 4 star hotels)Man, things really fuckin got crazy post covid, hasn't it? Splitting it halfway with someone does make it fairly modest but that's still enough money to just go into one of the better cons abroad. The smaller cons are cheaper ofc but there's not much to there and all I see here are people making up drama about (alleged) sex pests and women harassers. At the end of the day we're just gonna be hanging outside in cosplay drunk or high on something and at least excel's bay area/green area has like 15 hotels worth of degenerates chilling as opposed to 1 from insertuniversityconhere.
>>10884503Ukrane is more the blame, massive buisiness cost increases due to energy and such, among other economic hiccups. Plus it's fucking MCM, legitimately just go for the day or one night. Honestly at this rate we may as well have cons at caravan parks, it'd be cheaper, and there would probably be a beach or something too.
>>10884529PontinsCon when?
>>10884529Cant really do 1 day in MCM unless you live in london. And if you're traveling there you'd need to come in a day earlier cause you cant even check in the hotels till 2pm plus all the other dumb shit.tbf 240 quid is maybe one night out in todays economy, so prolly not even a big deal.
>>10884529are you illiterate
>>10884579Yes, I'm retarded
>>10884619dairy pls
>>10884503Supply and demand. The craziest part of this whole thing is people are actually paying those prices. But, FOMO is prevalent in the cosplay community.I've seen people who claim to be "boycotting" MCM on moral grounds (last May had some issues), when really it's personal finance grounds. Others are definitely sick of MCM, and fair play to anyone who's had enough of it and doesn't succumb to the FOMO, but MCM is still this country's largest comic con - somehow.Megacon London next year looks like a smaller and cheaper event, it's also at Excel, considering going.
>>10884631I mean, the hotels are charging pre much universally high no matter what date I put in. MCM going on has almost no bearing from the looks of it.Any other 3 day stay would cost 425 for the travelodge and 550-600+ for the 4 stars.
>>10884657I nabbed the Crowne Plaza at 350 for Fri-Sun for Megacon
>>10884658how? its literally 250gbp per day for 3 days on that date on their own website.I even adjusted it on some bumbfuck deadass month like april, it was still 210-220 a day for crowne.
>>10884659Booked when dates were releasedThat was the flexi-rate too
>>10884660Damn thats pre cray. Januarys super cheap tbf. Decided to just book at crowne for 600ish. If im gona get robbed I might as well do it at a nice hotel than a dumpy one.
>>10884530Aside from the bedrooms being shite and a cramped, the actual living space in a caravan is usually decent so could have a good room party in there. And the facilities are normally alright. So long as there's was somewhere for traders to go ..I'd be wierdly up for caravancon
PSA to stop shitting on MCM BrumAnd shit on MCM London insteadThat one has more fuckups
>>10885259same shitMegaCon or death
So, MCM. What happened to the Harry Potter thingie? Is it going on or everyone pretty much agrees to keep giving J K Rowling silently money by purchashing more of her stuff is still the norm
>>10885667People complaining are an out of touch minority.
>>10885667They cancelled the panel
>>10885667As much as the trannies hate it Harry Potter is insanely popular with the normies. No matter how much they shriek on Twitter the average person doesn't give a shit and will buy boy wizard merch.
>>10885754Yeah, the Harry Potter knockoff shops in Central London seem to be doing a good trade.
>>10885667I'm a real tranny (full surgeries next year) and I fully support ppl buying harry potter shit. Only manfaced, titansized, beard shadowed low effort freaks make a fuss about it. They should use all that effort on getting employment and basic grooming perhaps.
>>10885854The new Candy shops paired with the very normie like looking new anime shops in oxford street.
>>10886069Selling Harry Potter, Friends, Dragonball, Edgy Norse Pagan, My Hero Academia, Peaky Blinders merch etc.
>>10880463Akihabara is depressing as fuck dude
>>10886086
>>10886086Calm your (chopped off) tits, girl. Im just getting my face worked on, also a bbl. Not gettin my dick lobbed off.
>>10886086Kys terfNo one is falling for your "I'm just concerned bullshit
>>10886076Depressing because it's not the manic nerd wonderland it use to be?
>>10886271The arcades are basically dead and the merch seems to be more pin badges/acrylic stands/pencil cases/keyrings now
>>10886339Also doujin places like Toranoana are gone now.Arcades took a massive hit during covid, didn't see a single arcade travelling through small city Japan this summer when before there'd always be one somewhere.
>>10886471Toranoana would've left whether covid happened or not, they had far too much real estate for what was never a very profitable business of selling new doujinshi. Going all online was just common sense for them as much of a shame as it is. The footprint of other doujin stores like Comic ZIN or Surugaya make far more sense than having 7 stories of doujinshi and AV. >>10886339This has always been the case though? Animate was always just merch for the latest popular shit, I don't think there has been much change in Akihabara since 2017 besides Sega getting BTFO. At least when I was there in February, most stores seemed to be doing fine. Arcades were still quite empty compared to pre-covid but I personally don't care for them much anyways.
>>10886522Yeah, for anything more than a year old you were looking at Nakano Broadway usually.
So EGX anyone went?Seen a couple of instagram pics but not much
>>10886850Man, I've not been to EGX since they moved back to London. Real pity they did that.
both megacon and animeconuk are getting london venues, honestly smells like a trashfire already
>>10886522>7 stories of doujinshithat's an unnecessary amount of doujinshi
There's a con I wanna go to but I'm too self-conscious to cosplay in public on my way to the con....
>>10887524In this weather? just wear a big coat over it
>>10887524i just went to the chippy in my cosplay after a con, like literally 1 hour ago. tbf my cosplay was quite normal looking but fuck normies. disregard thier opinions, they don't like it? fuck 'em. freak them out, they hate you? good, you won't regret having a total stranger dislike you or think weirdly of you for one second while you walk past them.do this and you will gain courage.also you can often just get dressed at the con you know? i would bag up half my gear and put it on at the con for some cosplays.
>>10887524I went to and from a con dressed as Baiken and it was absolutely fine
>>10887803>female characteryeah if you are female though you can get away with anything.regardless mostly people are just say/do nothing or say something like>"way hey! superhero, what did you go as? is there an event on or something? i've seen loads of you guys dressed up today"
MCM Expo London this week! Got my Jason Voorhees cosplay ready.
>>10887739Why the fuck are you going to a chippy after a con?
>>10887873to get chips because they tend to finish right before supper
>>10887873Cuz you are hungry? It wouldnt be the first time I do thatBtw anyone went to Final Fantasy Fest or no one here was lucky enough to land a ticket?
>>10887906Nope, RNG too strong. I went to the first London Fan Fest, would have been nice to get the double
>>10887914Ive heard people managed to sneak in because Security was poor, very tipical of excel on my opinion
>>10887941Yeah, the fact that Excel is part of the DLR and usual shit security meant that some people could just get in anyway - if they hold it there again in however-many years, it will be the same dealI might go MCM this week but honestly I don't like going to events like these without a costume (don't have a new one)
>>10887807>>10887524Wearing a cosplay in public puts you at risk of being beaten or sexually harassed(or both) by chavs and urban youths and other colorful characters.Being ridiculed is the least of your worries.
>>10887962>t. londonertbf though i did have a lot of problems like that ... but only 20 years ago. Now days people, especially women, get away with anything. You can walk around dressed crazy and the scallies/chavs say and do nothing.Remember, bullies only pick on insecurities. If anyone gives you verbal, just be sound with them, make jokes, and you can give my usual explanation;>"there's an event on, it's like a big costume party"but honestly I haven't had trouble from anyone who didn't like how I dress, for 10 years. If your neighbourhood is that rough, take a taxi to and from the con and look into moving asap.
>>10879274no scottish cons? :(living on the border sucks cause im too far from england to go to the big cons there and too far from the twin cities to do anything in central scotland. rural folk stay losing lol
>>10887946If i had to count everytime I skipped the fare in the DLR because there is no turnsiles on Custom HouseI know some people that they wont be even go inside rather than they will stay outside of the green or make their way in and just chill around that area>>10887977Yeah but in a way is cool because you can see stuff that 20 years ago no one would dare to cosplay>>10887993They all are pretty much dead after covid
>>10887993recently got tickets to an anime league con near me, it's anime and gaming rather than comics and disney avengers harry potter super-who-lock stuff, so hopefully that filters a lot of the normies.https://www.animeleague.com/our-events/just missed newcastle but you have glasgow and newcastle next year.
>>10887561That wouldn't cover my face or wig.>>10887739>also you can often just get dressed at the con you know?I don't want anything creased, I'd have to carry multiple large bags, and I wouldn't wanna have to deal with storing the bags while I'm there.>>10887803I'm a short, bullyable man.>>10887962Yes there are multiple things I'm concerned about.>>10887977>taxiIt's over an hour each way on the trainHonestly this wouldn't be a problem if I were going with friends, but I have very few irl friends, and none who would go with me.
>>10888086>I have very few irl friends, and none who would go with me.hello past meyou know how i made friends?i did those things on my own and met them because i did them.this is your moment anon, this is your chance for character building and courage! only in the face of fear do we have the opportunity to be courageous! you can do it!!!also why not just taxi-train-taxi? most stations have a taxi rank. that way you'll avoid most people, also do you not get trains much? they are usually the more civilized mode of transport. it's buses where you will get murdered by crackheads, but they do that regardless of how you dress.t. can't drive and is in mid 30's and consistently traveled all over the country by public transport for my whole life.
>>10888093The potential of maybe making friends in the future doesn't solve my current problems.
>>10888105ok i'm not going to offer you any more advice, afaik your current problems are: fear of other people attacking you on public transport.I've offered some solutions/insights into that, which are distinct from making friends, but related. take it or leave it. stay inside afraid forever or go on a train looking weird, it's in your hands now.
>>10888105As long as you aren't abrasive, you will be fine. Keep your head up, own that shit and move on. Like I said earlier, I went to and from MCM as Baiken with massive fake boobs out and it was all smiles, in fact it actually felt good. You need to allow yourself to be confident, it is shit you want to do afterall
Post yer cosplay if you're doing any.
>>10888086Have you cosplayed before? Based on what you've said, I'd suggest going to the con but not in cosplay. Your cosplay will probably get creased or otherwise become imperfect during the con anyway. Sounds like the whole thing might be a burden. Alternatively, hotel?
>>10888130A long time ago with friends I no longer have, yeah.A hotel would be silly because I'd only be going for one day desu.
>>10888086I'd suggest you book a hotel and change in/out of cosplay before travelling if you're so concerned about wearing it to/from your house on public transport.
Anyone going to MCM this weekend wanna fuck me in the ass in the Excel toilets or a hotel?
>>10888192>assNo thanksI prefer a nice warm mouth
Anyone go to the FFXIVFanfest in London?
>>10888204Yeah I did, I dont think it was worth that much, entertaining but the queues and it was not that big.
>>10888237Any cool cosplay pics? I couldn't make it.
>>10888204hung around outside fanfest with no ticket, went drinking with raid group, then attended the concert. imo best way to experience fanfest and ideally will do it again exactly that way
if anyone's dumb enough to go to MCM this weekend hit up meltdown in islington on the friday and / or saturday. It was cracked until summer when MCM's 'official afters' killed it
>>10888200I mean, I'd be down for that too, as long as you've showered
>>10888327deal is off then
>>10888179I've considered it, but I don't wanna spend the money on a hotel if I'm gonna be there for just the day.
>>10888251Thanks for the rec, that actually looks pretty fun, travelling there in cosplay might be a bit of a stretch though.
MCM doing afterparty con shit now?Is it shit?
Retard that flew over for MCM posting here: is the official """epic""" afterparty worth it or is there some pub close-by where all the crooked-teeth cosplay cuties hang out after the con is over?
>>10888437it was dogshit in may. live music in those massive empty halls will always sound trash. They have some dude from Busted DJing tonight, for the like 5 people that care.
>>10888510There's the Fox next to the place that's normally packed. Bunch of people drink in the lobby of the Novotel, too.
>>10888542Thanks anon. Heading to the Fox.
What was up with all the police around the entrance at like 4:15? Was on my way out and saw about 10-15 chatting to one women by the front glass doors.
Only going to be around MCM for Tekken 8 tomorrow
>>10888555Everytime is drama. Dont bother too much its always happening
>>10888192Have to decline. Being a pain in the arse is not worth it.
>>10888555
>>10888726good one anon
This is weird. A couple of days after MCM and no one complaining or bringing drama to the table?
need cosplay femdom gf bros
>>10889283if was pretty chilled out on the Saturday, surely all this drama of which you speak is on some random discord
>>10889297Pity all the drama discords have been keeping it to themselves lately.
>>10889283Lessons were learned (eventually) and many knew not to challenge the one with a doggo on his head. A true shame it is just the drama here (no photos, highlights or anything that could be good).Only minor highlight for me was seeing a Purple Tellytubby pass my local and not taking a pic.
>>10889283It was a good con overall. Massive improvement compared to May. Saturday obviously busy but not crazy. Sunday felt way more chill than last time, and that's supposedly with it being "sold out". Weather was the worst part of the con, can't exactly do much about that.
>>10889303Too busy gaslighting themselves
Well im glad is it true that there it was many more shops but ill say overall it wasnt bad. I think its maybe they are feeling threathened by Megacon now. But I think if the drama keeps itself contained maybe its not even worth talking about it. I enjoyed it as well. I was busy as heck but I wish it was way easier to find naturally the main stage instead of being like on the last section of Excel.
Noncedon MCM is OVER! See you in Birmingham, arseholes!
>>10889369Oh, are they doing that thing where they convince themselves they aren't the problem, everyone else is, or petty sniping and infighting?
>>10889461Why even bother with Birmingham, last time I went they had no panels and only used a single small hall at the arse end of the NEC with second rate vendors. All the people and vendors worth visiting to can't be bothered going to the 3rd (rate) city.
>>10889480you’re a 3rd rate weeb with a 4th rate attitude
>>10889480They had a cool Wrestling thingie
Did anyone go to Hiba- I mean Hotarucon? I've not seen anything about it.
I always wondered. Who would be the cosplayer in the UK who you suspect the most is botting their social media? Is it as rampant as in other countries? What tools do they use for it?
>>10890637Speedlolita
>>10889283Didn't some dude "somethingVampire" have a big post complaining about SA.
>>10889599it's back this year anon.
>>10890703Tried to look for this person but seems like I found nothing. So seems like whatever is doing is not working>>10891194Probally at the fox they were even giving out anti spike stickers out.>>10891375Honestly it was a bliss when you had a spare moment and did not know what to do to just go around the wrestling place sit down and enjoy, I dont care if its staged so its actions movies so I enjoy the coreography
>>10891430that is reassuring
I have just moved to the UK from Ireland. Do people just roll upto cons solo and make friends or is that impossible due to cliques etc? Thanks for any replies
>>10891930yes
>>10890310It was OK but it seemed some people have low standards for those sorts of cons nowadays. Hotel Venue = GoodIs there a bar = GoodActual decent events and things to do at the con? = No, but still good because I then have to admit I enjoy MCM or other conventions I shun on a monthly basis.
>>10891953the standards went out the window when Kita/Ame realised they could stop getting guests and good venues and people will still attend
>>10891953>Is there a bar = Goodwho the fuck goes to overpriced hotel bars?
>>10891930Meanwhile you are cosplaying you go to the meetups, get to discord and instagram or like just chill in after parties or anime parties then yeah it can be very easy to get into society.... but with other stuff it also gets complicated from there.>>10892061Sometimes you have no other chocie or just for pure lazyness
>>10891930If youre a girl or a cute guy in cosplay its easy as fuck. Otherwise spontaneous attendance would give you nobody or some fat sperglords(way worse).
>>10892218Cons really need to have a maximum BMI limit (if male)
>>10892326so female only cons then?
>>10892326You must be a really thirsty virgin if srs
>>10892326Snap back to reality, anon.
Anyone here going to Birmingham this weekend?
Been contemplating going to Birmingham to meet David Hayter, but £50 for some bloke to scribble on a game is ridiculous.
>>10893841At least he'll actually be there. MGScon only managed to get him as a surprise guest on Zoom
>>10893826Doing Saturday and Sunday, any nightmares on Friday?
>>10891930yeah just find common ground and spark up conversations, once met an anon cosplaying as kroenen, i knew he'd be my guy the moment i saw him. he was a real oldfag, remembered some memes i hadn't seen for more than a decade. You have to make the first move, everyone is a shy socially awkward weirdo. having grown up and out of that (mostly) over the years, it makes me smile to talk to shy guys, but not in a derisive way, more like "your fear is unfounded, you have nothing to worry about with me, you can chill, I'm harmless and we are bros".Don't be afraid to say bye and walk away from people who are in some way or another, beyond help, if you start a conversation but then realise "oh acctually this guy is fucked up and maybe retarded".I've been to one after party and i found it to be less social somehow ??? and the music was shit normie crap, they played like one or two anime theme songs and that's it. I am going to try and host my own secret alternate after party and play fucking eurobeat and high energy video game music.
Hey, Intruder hereWho's the best person to commission a Link cosplay (picrel) from in the UK? Price not an issue. Looking for excellent quality, no scammers>inb4 buy a mass produced premadeNo
>>10893841not from the uk, but i've met david and i would say he's worth it. genuinely really nice dude, loves to talk to the fans
Brum train station looked like a terrorist attack when MCM finished
>>10894976So nothing changed?
Are there any good cons worth going to coming up early ‘24?
>>10894997Megacon London is at Excel, 13th-14th January. £48 for weekend ticket is a bargain. Been to one of their Brum events and it has old MCM vibes. They're also running one at NEC, 23rd-24th March. There's Animecon at Drumsheds in London, 3rd-4th February. Another one that was at NEC now seeing if they can make their con work in the capital. Not been before though, apparently it was decent last year.
>>10895004nah Animecon in Drumsheds looks like a shit show. It was at the NEC claiming to be massive when only 2000 people showed up it was empty rather spend money on megacon
>>10895038>NECNah, it's just people intelligently refusing to go to the vomit stain that is birmingham and the NEC
>>108950382000 people for your first show isn't that bad
Now the dust has settled, can we finally agree that kazoo was the best gull
>>10895061He was right about the vaccine.
>>10895061*gio
>>10895061*Speedlolita
>>10895061this is like asking who gave the best rectal examination
>>10895038Not even counting the fact that the price you buy a ticket at, add on 20% VAT and over a 10% booking fee. The prices they're promoting themselves over socials you end up paying up a third more. Then you have the reedpop post which publicly stated (until a takedown) that they nicked footage of MCM Birmingham and claimed it was their event for ads. A Very dodge company.
