Because half the UK con scene hates the other, most of the hotel con goers hate the cheap and cheerful AL events, everyone says they hate the big expo events on their socials but got to them anyway.

Hotel cons tend to be mired in bad management and drama, Expos have the most resources, and best organised but are tend to be light on good events, or at least events hotel con-goers care about (i.e. panels you can have a sneaky fap to, or parties to daterape someone ((hi dairy)) at) And a lot of people kinda jerk off to the US gaylord events because they have the scale of an expo with the "soul" of a hotel con.

Lessons were learned (eventually) and many knew not to challenge the one with a doggo on his head. A true shame it is just the drama here (no photos, highlights or anything that could be good).
Only minor highlight for me was seeing a Purple Tellytubby pass my local and not taking a pic.

It was a good con overall. Massive improvement compared to May. Saturday obviously busy but not crazy. Sunday felt way more chill than last time, and that's supposedly with it being "sold out". Weather was the worst part of the con, can't exactly do much about that.

Well im glad is it true that there it was many more shops but ill say overall it wasnt bad. I think its maybe they are feeling threathened by Megacon now. But I think if the drama keeps itself contained maybe its not even worth talking about it.

I enjoyed it as well. I was busy as heck but I wish it was way easier to find naturally the main stage instead of being like on the last section of Excel.

Megacon London is at Excel, 13th-14th January. £48 for weekend ticket is a bargain. Been to one of their Brum events and it has old MCM vibes. They're also running one at NEC, 23rd-24th March.
There's Animecon at Drumsheds in London, 3rd-4th February. Another one that was at NEC now seeing if they can make their con work in the capital. Not been before though, apparently it was decent last year.

Not even counting the fact that the price you buy a ticket at, add on 20% VAT and over a 10% booking fee. The prices they're promoting themselves over socials you end up paying up a third more. Then you have the reedpop post which publicly stated (until a takedown) that they nicked footage of MCM Birmingham and claimed it was their event for ads. A Very dodge company.
