Been thinking of going as my first con since I have a job now and live less than an hour from DC. How does it compare to other cons? Is this a good one to go to alone? I haven't been able to convince anyone I know to come with me, not that any of them are into cons anyway

It depends on the type of person you are, I don't mind exploring Otakon by myself, but if literally know one I knew was there I probably wouldn't go. I do think it is one of the better cons I've been to, I've been to Otakon every year since 2014.
