can someone link some classic/gothic bags that are either very dark brown/wine?
(no cross theme please)
>>
Does anyone know if Kasou Wigs is a standalone store or if they're a Taobao reseller? If they're a reseller, I'd rather order directly from Taobao.
>>
>>10804239
Pretty sure it's not a reseller considering they also do custom wig commissions and have been around forever.
>>
If you preorder a cos directly through Taobao, how do you get notified when you need to pay the second payment? My dumb ass just put down a deposit without thinking this through.
>>
I've become a bit addicted to Xianyu lately and found that you can get relatively cheap commissioned artwork there, with my SS getting the Wechat account of the artist to communicate with if they're willing to deal with a foreigner. I've felt bad about the low prices and have been tipping the artists.
>>
>>10804516
Which artists have you commissioned lately? Looking for some cheap comms myself. And definitely get a Wechat if you're going to be commissioning a lot of art from or otherwise contacting a lot of people from China. It makes communication so much simpler.
>>
>>10804516
I've been getting commissions for 20cm plush drawings off xianyu too lol they seriously are so cheap! I always try to tip but they refuse so I end up forcibly giving them money over wechat

>>10804246
In the description it should list the time that they will start taking the second payment so check back on the shop around that time, otherwise I think you get added to a group chat in TB where they will notify you or the shop will message you themselves when it's time?

I've only purchased 2, as experiments to see how viable it is.

Waiting for this artist to deliver, I was 6th in the queue as of the 23rd

https://market.m.taobao.com/app/idleFish-F2e/fish-pc/web/detail.html?id=681479437120
I asked for 2, one for a friend, and had them in about a week. Tipped, of course, however the third picture isn't accurate to the art style. The faces are a bit derpy for lack of a better word, but it's still cute.

https://market.m.taobao.com/app/idleFish-F2e/fish-pc/web/detail.html?id=671484308821
I really wanted a picture from this artist, but she didn't want to deal with foreigners via a shopping service. Sucks because I love this art style but what can you do.

https://market.m.taobao.com/app/idleFish-F2e/fish-pc/web/detail.html?id=669662941951
The next time I feel like spending a bit more, I'll probably go with this artist.

>>10804788
Do you mean drawings of plushies? How are you able to tip through Wechat? I thought it was impossible as a foreigner, unless you have access to a Chinese version of the app + a CN bank account. And yeah it's addicting
>>
>>10804788
The listing doesn't list when they'll start taking second payment but fingers crossed they message through TB. Thanks for your help nonny!
>>
>>10804791
I make my own plushies so I commission 娃稿 so I don't have to draw the faces myself!

And I get money into my wechat by using a TB rebate bot (yimei2358 on wechat, just add them and when you buy something paste the link of the thing you want into the chat and if it gives you a big block of text with a red packet emoji somewhere in there copy and paste that into TB app and add item to cart/purchase. once you receive the item and confirm it as received it'll give you a tiny bit of money back. It'll say how much you'll get in the rebate in the block of text it gives you but it's usually something like 0.10-1.50rmb. When you want to withdraw your balance, send 提现 into the chat. I don't know how this bot works exactly or if there's anything sus going on with it in regards to TB account data or whatever but from what I understand it comes from sellers paying the operator to help push their product or something. Anyway, use at your own discretion).

Also another thing about commissions on xianyu just for people interested in general, some artists will trace bases/other art so just keep that in mind when shopping around. Bases get passed around tons on xhs and stuff.

>>10804794
No worries, just check it every now and then and you should probably be fine.
>>
Is it possible to buy from TaoBao if you're not looking to buy in bulk?
>>
>>10804860
Of course.
>>
>>10804860
Taobao is business to consumer so everything is sold per piece. You're confusing it with Alibaba, which is business to business hence the bulk requirement.

hey anons, which agent do you use for taobao? I saw the OP and there's 5 to choose from
>>
>>10805629
yes :/

>>10806066
i use wegobuy. probably not the cheapest and i haven’t met many lolitas that use it (their clientele is primarily designer replica buyers to my knowledge) but the agents will jump through hoops for you. my girl mira has bought me so much shit from xianyu (even some custom made accessories) while some shopping services won’t even touch the app.
>>
I haven't been on taobao in years, and I see that you need to register to view it now. I've tried multiple times now to register my phone number, but it never sends me the verification code. I've picked the right country code, but it just doesn't work, even on the phone app. Has anyone else had this problem? I don't know how to even view taobao otherwise and it's frustrating.
>>
>>10806220
im having the same problem anon and all sources online say that sometimes you're just fucked if taobao doesn't like your area anymore. i've been trying vpns, other phone numbers, nothing works. if anyone knows how to get past this please share.
>>
>>10806220
>>10806247
Try whitelisting Taobao's ips on your router, a lot of providers like ATT block them by default on cable, using the phone should also avoid this.
>>
>>10806220
Same anon, I went through making an Alipay account and I thought I almost got it to work, but it said there has been serious violations and my account is frozen. I'm seriously at the end of my rope, I just want to browse the damn site. Does anyone know any way I can look without an account?
>>
>>10806066
I used to use Superbuy and now I fell for the shills and use Sugargoo. I think Sugargoo's deposit fees are very slightly more expensive, but they don't charge a 10% commission fee for non-taobao/1688 purchases and I believe they have better English ability. They're usually pretty good and will resolve issues for you without you having to do anything.

>their clientele is primarily designer replica buyers to my knowledge
Correct, most of the SS's that have popped up in the past few years are due to this demographic exploding

I'm looking to possibly buy some more nanchatte items soon, probably just some skirts, maybe a few cardigans/vests, and blouses. Is shipping still absolutely fucked? I was looking for a reseller for a particular shop I enjoy buying from and the only site that sells their shit is devilinspired. I really don't want to buy from them since it's over double the cost of the taobao prices but would international shipping thru a ss fuck me over still and make it the same price (or even more) anyway? tia to any anons who can give me some insight.

For any Kiwis browsing, my experience with CTExpress (https://www.nzctlogistics.com/) so far:
I tried to ship a large package via a business friend in China in a shipping container that was being sent anyway, but the container was delayed and he - without me asking - sent the package via CTExpress. It took about 5 weeks to get here from the time it was mailed. The boxes were a bit beaten up but nothing inside was missing or damaged, although the most fragile thing was a keyboard.

I shipped a package with them myself a few days ago - $44 for 12kg, 43x43x57cm. I selected to pick it up just to save time and money, and I live nearby anyway. Customer service on Wechat is very helpful and responds quickly from 9-5. They received the package from my SS on a Saturday without me telling them - I was very busy for the few days around when it was sent out and didn't know it was being sent until late on Friday afternoon. On Monday I contacted CS, input the details about contents then paid via bank transfer and it was no trouble. Unfortunately, I wanted a couple of the things in my package for an overseas trip next month so I'm hoping I'll get luckier with shipping speed this time. They were unable to offer a faster service or ship those particular items seperately via airmail or EMS. That's reasonable so my fault for leaving it so long.

The person who told me about this company frequently receives perfume and other things that are normally unshippable through them. I don't know if this is true, but they apparently don't check the package contents. I'll post again when I receive the package I paid for.

Any Canadian gulls been having problems with 42agent with shipping? If I pick any shipping option that isn't a courier, my package gets returned to 42agent and then they charge me a lot to reship it with a different method, even if the method would have been cheaper initially. It doesn't matter what shipping method I've chosen, literally EVERY package I've shipped with them has been returned, but there's absolutely zero problems reshipping the same package after paying even more. This has been going on for a year.

After having to shell out $350 for DHL with them, with additional $60 in fees because they never do actually mark it down, I've had enough with 42agent. I miss Taobaotrends, any recs for ss that can ship to Canada properly?

>>
>>10804940
It is expensive in my opinion because it's forced EMS. Shipping starts at like ~$25 or so for the first 0.5kg and goes up from there. They sometimes weigh packages wrong and overcharge for shipping. It's an absolute pain in the butt to ask for a partial refund for overpaid shipping because you need to provide some sort of official proof they overweighed it (usually an unopened package with your country's customs label with weight on there) and the refund goes back to your Alipay account in yuan, regardless of whether you've ever accessed or even set up an Alipay account.

I saw the terms for bralette and matching bra and panty set in the spreadsheet, but is anyone able to tell me what to search for a bralette with matching underwear/lingerie sets that have a bralette instead of a bra? Or at least point me in the direction of stores that have it (the ones listed on the spreadsheet with matching sets were almost entirely proper bras that have cups and stuff). I'm looking for more of a sexy/lingerie style, not daily stuff.
I am very skinny and completely flat chested so anything with molded or shaped cups just hangs awkwardly off of me. Bralette styles that have little to no shaping in the cup and either don't have pads or have removable pads are what fit best on me

Can someone tell me what term I should be using to find traditional bridal-style veils? Or at least a term equivalent to "bridal" to search for bridal accessories? (Just to be clear I'm not buying my wedding stuff off taobao. This is for a photo) The term in the spreadsheet is listed as "veil fascinators" (哥特头饰) and isn't quite giving me what I want. The term I got from Google translate is 面纱 which is bringing up the sort of veils that cover the lower half of the face (think stereotypical belly dancer)
Also is there a more specific term than 婚纱 I can use to search for traditional white, western-style, wedding dresses? It's bringing up a lot of formal dresses that aren't wedding dresses and the alterative term 结婚礼服 brings up a lot of traditional Chinese style wedding clothing

婚纱is correct. Throw in the term 头饰 to specify it's a headdress, though it will likely in bring up tiaras and other headgear type items as well. My suggestion is that you find a few solid, trustworthy stores with budget and styles you like, then specifically looking for bridal veils in them.

>>10819084
This is literal and would not be a term sellers use. You'd say 欧式 or 法式 (French) to sound classier.
>>
Should I be worried about this message? I've never had it before because the last time I bought from taobao was way before covid and it was through an SS, not directly. Google translate told me it says my item will be shipped before March 16th... Should I really expect to wait that long? Debating whether or not to see if this arrives at the consolidation warehouse in time for me to combine it with other items.
Also how long will taobao hold your items at the consolidation warehouse? 30 days? That's usually the length of time I see for this type of service
>>
>>10819158
It's just a max range date provided by the seller. Chances are, it will ship sooner. You can also ask the seller about a shipping time estimate. The text after the March 16th date is the ubiquitous disclaimer on just about every order nowadays that "Due to COVID-19, areas may enter lockdown and other pandemic control measures unexpectedly and cause delays in shipment".

Taobao proxy warehouse will hold order items for free for up to 20 days, then they charge some fee.

Can someone help me with the translation of a term? An item I'm looking at is advertised as coming with free 送飞机盒, which Google translated to "airplane box"
Looking at photos and the description of the item did not make it clear what this was. Is this saying it comes packaged in a cardboard box? If it's relevant, it's a dress listed as a jsk but is sort of between a jsk and OP as it simultaneously has both shoulder and off the shoulder straps

I like this a lot, but I'm having trouble understanding the difference between the available options (item link: https://m.tb.cn/h.UhC5Z7w?)
I understand what the two "single skirt" options mean (not a tiered skirt), but I don't understand the difference between the other three options that have tiered skirts and they're definitely different because the prices vary by quite a lot.
The auto-translations I've gotten have been a bit confusing and say the options are "interested in gold", "unintentional gold", and "not applicable intent gold", respectively, and I can't spot a difference between the item in the photos used so I'm hoping to get the input of someone who actually knows Chinese.
>>
>>10820249
The listing comes in two main options, the dress by itself or the dress with the cover veil, and the two pricing tiers are if you paid the conditional deposit or not, hence the pricing difference. The fifth option is just for the cover veil and deposit is not applicable to it. 意向金 means conditional deposit.
>>
>>10820318
Thank you so much, I was completely lost. I'm going to go for the most expensive one then since I didn't pay the initial deposit and save these terms for future reference

DO NOT USE BHINER
bhiner stole my money! i asked if i could order something not on their list of restricted items, they said they could ship it with a special delivery service. i put in the order, they ordered it and the next day they said they wouldn't ship it and i'd have to pay a disposable fee. i contacted someone else with the chat logs and they just said "teehee we didn't say that" and they updated the list to explicitly restrict what i ordered, in a different typeface from the rest of the list. they stole my money, are extremely unprofessional and didn't even apologize for their own mistake.
>>
>>10821141
What was it that you ordered?
>>
>>10821231
cream gel nail polish. the person i spoke to who said they refused to ship it said they can't because it contains alcohol (which it doesn't, gel polish isn't even flammable). the first person i spoke to said it would ship only with DHL which i know is true, because i have ordered it through amazon.jp before via DHL. i would have been fine not to order it, but they were just so unbelievably unprofessional about how they handled it, especially since it was their mistake.
>>
>>10821240
Nail polish is flammable. Even gel polish contains acetone, which is flammable. I suggest just buying it off AliExpress if you can find it there. I've bought gel polish off there several times with no problem

NTA but the issue is they told anon they would ship it after seeing what it was, it doesn't actually matter if it's flammable or not, they told her they'd ship it. But for the record no, cream gel polish doesn't contain acetone. In fact most gel polish doesn't, just shellac. Gel polish is more flammable after it dries because resin is flammable and gel polish is made of resin. I don't know where you got that info. I've been a nail tech for almost a decade.

Is sea mail shipping to the US backed up right now? I saw anons further up thread saying it was backed up to Europe but saw a thread on Reddit from 6 months ago saying it only took about a month and a half for consolidated sea shipping to arrive in the USA (I'm also on the east coast if that matters, so it would have a long way to travel over land after arriving in a seaport on the west coast).
I'm not in a rush to get my package, and it's going to weigh enough that I don't think it will be worth it to pay for airmail, but I wanted an idea of how long I'd be waiting.

Review: Angels Heart "My Little Lamb" purchased through Girlism.

Arrival was estimated Jun-Aug, but due to Covid lockdowns, it arrived Dec, sans the blue socks, which Girlism says will be sent later. I'm going to assume I will never see those socks.

The quality looks pleasantly good to me. Beret: the pom is soft, the ribbon is soft, the embroidery looks great. Headbow: sewn down to the band, doesn't squeeze my head painfully, matches the JSK perfectly. Socks: red color matches exactly, has a cute fluffy texture on the lamb face which I didn't expect from the low-res photos, nice stretch. JSK (size M): adjustable straps, removable waist-ties, built-in petti, fully lined, all the lace colors match, detailed applique on the bust, print quality is nice and crisp; polyester fabric feels a bit thin/wrinkled compared to Japanese brand, but not terribly so; the bottom ruffle hem is serged(?), which is a cheaper look than burando.

Overall happy with the purchase. The print, applique, and embroidery are adorable to me. The sizing and adjustment options are great. The trim quality and color-matching is very good.

It's on the product page if you scroll down past the initial photo. It's a bit annoying because it's clogging up my screenshot folder, but to translate stuff in the taobao app, most of the time I just screenshot it and run it through the image function on Google translate. If you do this for a while you'll probably start to memorize some characters and phrases. This is a listing for a pair of shoes for example, and it shows the shipping within China is 0 yuan. Shipping within China (at least to the taobao warehouse, which I think is in Zhongshan for US customers) seems to usually be free, but I can't speak for more remote parts of China or disputed territories like Taiwan and Hong Kong
>>
>>10826620
>>10826588
Shipping to the warehouse is always domestic so whatever domestic rate applies, including restrictions like no shipping to Xinjiang (Uyghur) or inner Mongolia. Usually stores offer free shipping or if you buy x amount of stuff, sometimes it's like 8 or 10 yuan. The warehouse is located in southern China. It will never be like in some remote region or special zone like Hongkong/Macau/Taiwan.

Just a heads-up, looks like economy air is back for Taobao shipping for the US and Canada. No more forced EMS.
>>
>>10826620
Thanks for the explanation, now I know why I was confused - I don't have this section on the app, it only gives me the seller's location and shipping time, and I can't click through to see more. I know it's not STRICTLY taobao (even if it's owned by Alibaba group too) but have any of you anons had trouble attaching your card to Alipay? I understand that Alipay accepts foreign cards, it accepts Visa cards (which is the card I'm trying to use), and that Alipay operates here in America (some retailers like CVS now accept Alipay)
And yet despite all that, when I try to save my card to Alipay, I get a message saying it can't save it. I'm 100% sure I put my card information in correctly, and I have authorized foreign transactions on that card. Is there a keyword for "next day shipping" "next day dispatch" or something along those lines? I'm tired of sellers who wait a whole week to ship my order and I'm willing to pay more for ones that dispatch orders within ~48hrs
>>
>>10828684
Look where the shipping cost is usually written in the listing and if it says 预售,付款后##天内发货 that means "on order, will post within ## days after payment", so avoid those. Sometimes it'll say 现货,付款后48小时内发货 which means "in stock, will post within 48 hours of payment" so look for those or ones that don't say anything at all. Look in the description to see if it's an item that has to be made too. You might also see 受疫情影响,物流时效可能延 which means "there may be delays due to the pandemic" in which case there's not much you can do. If you want to ask the seller directly, ask 你好 请问付款后什么时候发货 ("hi, when do you ship after payment?").

Hope this helps.

it's chinese slang from a video game. it basically means super unlucky, where as european emperor means super lucky. it has to do with whaling in gacha. "african chiefs" spend too much and don't get good pulls and the term is used to describe how a players face will get "dark with anger" when they get bad gacha rolls. not to be a sjw but it's honestly extremely racist.

Pretty good explanation here as well: https://www.zhihu.com/question/453624704

Poor gacha luck = your face darkens upon seeing your shit pull = like a African chief
Good gacha luck = your face brightens upon the pull = like a European pope

Not sure why a store would offer lucky bags that openly says one option is shit luck and the other is nice, unless there's a huge price different.
