>>10756279>Find out that within the next few months I'll be moving>Melty Berry MTO won't ship until 2023>Not sure if I have to be concerned or notIt sucks that I'm losing my childhood home in such a bullshit way, but I'm more concerned about my pre-orders. When I should I let AP USA know that I need an address change?
>>10756283they reach out and ask you if you have the same address before shipping MTOs that take a long time, but if you’re worried and want confirmation just email them
For the people taking about it in the last thread, no designers from AP are coming to Akon, it's just AP SF staff.
>>10756296Also saw that if you want to model for AP you have to own a full AP coord, all pieces even accessories and blouse, etc. AP.Idk if that means AP is just going to have people wear their personal brand items and not provide clothes or if that's their way of saying "if you can't fit every type of clothing item from our brand don't bother applying to model for us"
>>10756301If it's the latter, I really want to see the butthurt that ensues.
>>10756301Is there a screenshot of those rules? Can't say I'm against that though. The people who actually have/wear AP are the only ones that should be modeling it. I don't need some lolita-at-heart walking the runway, or a fatty-chan who only has replicas and whines AP isn't big enough.
>>10756301It means it's easier for AP if the models can bring their own shoes, accessories, blouses etc.AP USA wants to sell their US stock but doesn't necessarily have all the pieces to support a fashion show (And AP headquarters in Japan probably aren't mailing anything out for it) especially for things like shoes where there's multiple sizes and colors.
>>10756329Also let's be real... the new releases they have in stock are extremely lackluster and kind of pathetic for a fashion show.
>>10756329Ahh thanks for explaining. That's kind of what I was thinking, that they want to sell their US stock. Based on the coords AP SF posts online and in their emails they don't always have a lot in store to support a cohesive full coord so it is much easier if people bring supporting pieces in their own size (like shoes or legwear since their shoes, socks and tights vary a lot in size), and obviously they don't want other brands' stuff mixed in when they're trying to advertise.Hopefully they mention what dresses they're having people model so people can just bring accessories based on that and not have to pack their entire closet just in case they get matched with XYZ print.
>>10756331That's what it's going to be, though. AP USA isn't here for fun. They want to sell their current stock.
>>10756329I modelled for AP a few years ago and we were asked to bring our own shoes if we had them but they could provide them if we didn't. Granted, the designers were at that event so it may be different when it's just the franchise store
>>10756301>>10756303That’s normal for brand fashion shows you fags. AP is one of the more strict brands.
>>10756288Thanks, feeling better already
>>10756394This!
>>10756394So I guess the people who’s feet are too big for AP’s peely shoes are just shit out of luck
>>10756445Yes, just like the people with boobs too big to fit their blouses or who are too tall for their liking. It’s about selling their stuff, not fairness.
>>10756445Exactly. Look at who has walked in AP fashion shows in the US. They’re neither tall nor ham planets. Brands like Baby and Meta were less strict. They sometimes brought shoes and blouses but if you had ones that fit you better and weren’t from their brand, they allowed you to wear them in the fashion show. These newfags are outing themselves with their bewilderment of the modeling rules, jesus christ.
>>10756479Forgot to mention big footed girls. They’re fucked when it comes to walking in AP’s fashion shows. They ask your foot size on the application last time I applied so obviously I wasn’t chosen because I’m a treelita who wears a size ten shoe.
>>10756394Usually they ask you to just bring some accessories though not a full ass coord.Like I get they want all AP on the model but it's just further reinforcing that AP doesn't give 2 shits about AP SF other than the money they make from more loyal western lolitas, when they can't even send some pieces to help pad out a fashion show.
>>10756481>>10756479>>10756445At least fat people can lose weight. Sorry giraffe chans :/
>>10756479I'm the one who posted the rules and I'm not bewildered, just was curious of the purpose cause I'd never heard of a fashion show where the brand wasn't prepared to do just about everything except hair and makeup, and of course the expectation is you fit their clothes but not usually that you have to bring your own main piece.
>>10756296Wonder if this means AP SF will go to AX too, given that it's closer to them.
I don't get what the whining is all about.. Haven't you gulls ever modeled for a show before? None of these requirements are strange; infact they are WAY more lenient then most modeling gigs; they just want you to fit the size RANGE, not a specific size (0,2, 4 or 6) like in most shows.Part of the reason I got into lolita is the sizing isn't specific; you can fit lots of girls of different shapes into any dress; most dresses are technically 4 or 6 dress sizes combined (via the shirring and gathered skirts). Really everyone here just needs to count their blessings that this is a fashion not focused on one particular built or one particular tag size.
AP displays are honestly making these releases look even worse.Image is from AP Kyoto's instagram.
>>10756445I would just squeeze my feet into their largest size if I were desperate
>>10756486Larger than average feet doesn't always equal tall, sometimes your feet just say I want to be looongg. Likewise for tiny feet on say, 180cm models
>>10756613The only coord that made this look somewhat decent is the Paris one and even then the riders jacket is covering these fugly straps
>>10756593I don't think anyone is shocked you have to fit the brand to model in their show. It's just weird that the brand isn't providing most of the clothes like every other fashion show ever.
>>10756486I'm 156cm with a 26cm foot, like explain that
>>10756696Go away Usagi Kou.
>>10756708Not the anon you replied to but it's pretty normal for your feet not to "go with" your height, I don't know why you're so shocked
>>10756708Nta, but does she even wear lolita? Isn't she just an old milky cosplayer?
Another rerelease is in the works. It's one of the prints from the anniversary mook. Seems like a lot of readers have voted for it.
>>10756723milky-chan or milky planet
>>10756723Holy Lantern
>>10756723Not this time.>>10756727It hasn't received that many votes compared to other prints. I guess the market for Holy Lantern is more or less saturated for now.
>>10756724It has to be
>>10756723One of the prints they had a model wearing? Otherwise there are a lot to chose from in the Original Print Collection section of the mook... I would love Wonder Party or Happy Garden, but I'm guessing that's unlikely.
>>10756723Be Milky Chan, please
>>10756739No, it wasn't featured on a model. Here's another hint: look closely at AP's most recent print release.
This screenshot was stupid because it was the old release but I bet it's French Cafe >>10754414
>>10756746I guess French Cafe then... Little Bears Cafe also kind of fits the theme? But that's probably a stretch.
>>10756746Any idea/are you able to say if it'll come out soon or later half of the year?
>>10756746>look closely at AP's most recent print release.Definitely French Cafe then. I hope it's cotton and they release all the cuts but I know the skirt is not happening given what AP has been doing in the past.
>>10756759The colors of the ribbons are French flag colors, cafe/bakery theme with some slight berry motifs, it's 100% French Cafe
>>10756789>>10756787the jam jar has been lightly re-drawn lol.
>>10756731>Not this timeI'm reading way too much into this. Like maybe that means AP has plans to rerelease Milky Planet or Milky Fawn soon, just "not this time."Anyways I know I'm butthurt, but I'm just surprised at the voting. It doesn't feel like French Cafe needs a rerelease as badly as some others.
>>10756790Kek damn AP really said "you want our old art? fine."
Genuine question- I know a lot of the trends in lolita are more or less on a treadmill. With the amount of covidlitas who over obsess with 2010's sweet, do you think it's eventually going to just be associated with them and being ita to the point it will lose its popularity for a time? I know for a while it was out of the hyped style and came back around 2019-2020 or so.
>>10756746Cool it must be French Cafe. Happy because I can finally get the headbows to match a couple of my dresses and maybe the black socks.
>>10756746I'm so surprised that you haven't be caught as it's most likely you're from the Paris or SF store
>>10756723Possibility of a screen print ever being rereleased?
>>10756856>being ita to the pointanon, we're not covidlitas and if you think this - you're a covidlita. holy shit... what a dumb question.
>>10756870I never said that everyone who likes 2010's sweet is a covidlita, just that covidlitas are obsessed with it and it can get a bad rap by association. How did you graduate high school with such pitiful reading comprehension skills?
>>10756865Long live the Angelic Prophet
>>10756871I can say the same for old schoolers. As far as I'm concerned, it's a bunch of gen z kids. I think 2010's sweet boom is no surprise, considering the age of the people into it normally.
>>10756871also no one is giving it a bad rap, if it didn't get a bad rap from all the fatties squeezing themselves into these dresses before from the boom then it's not getting a bad rap.stop being a fucking newfag.
>>10756795French Cafe is popular as hell in Japan. I’m sure the prophet can confirm. Whenever it’s listed for sale it sells within minutes. >>10756795She didn’t say no and said not this time so if you’re fluent in English the meaning isn’t murky.
>>10756871You should have changed the wording to covidlitas obsessed with Milky Planet and Milky Fawn. True lolitas have broader tastes and don’t have meltdowns over not owning prints that were widely available for a decade.
>>10756894Also in China, secondhand market for it is extremely dry and full of WTBs
>>10756746All I want from french cafe is the mini skirt, and I can already tell that they're not going to rerelease it
>>10756894I mean, the voting alone tells me it must be popular. I'm just surprised because listings for Milky Planet/Milky Fawn tend to be much higher in price than French Cafe.
Cackling at all the covidlitas crying over it not being milky chan or milky planet. The irony is that even if they got rereleased it would be a bloodbath and the price wouldn’t go down anyway
>>10756923MTOs exist, anon. It's concerning that your ego is threatened this much by AP releasing either again though.
>>10756613Jesus, what the hell is this thing and what is happening with those straps?
>>10756746Ooo I really hope it’s French cafe!
>>10756925Lol I don’t own either, nor do I want to. It’s absolutely no threat to my ego. I just think it’s ridiculous how obsessed they are with these prints getting rereleased because they are too cheap to pay the going rate and unwilling to wait it out since they probably won’t even wear lolita in a year. They only care about clout
>>10756954You only care about echoing this in every thread. You sound like a salty seller who feels entitled to price gouge and recites this preachy garbage when no one fw you.
>>10756954You're way too bothered by this though. If you want to talk about being it in for the clout, blame the nu-rich Chinese lolitas who turned the fashion into a hoarding game. You seem to have an obsession with thinking the only people who want these MTOs are covidlitas though. Plenty of pre-2019 lolitas want them too.At least it's not the stupid spewing of actual covidlitas asking for Dream Fantasy to get a rerelease, or for AP to remake the pony bags (which would be a disaster, I'm sure) .
>>10756958Nta but you echoing the same whiny posts about scalpers and the current market price is annoying as fuck. Piss off already. >fw youOh it’s from twitter. Piss all the way off.
>>10756960Nayrt either, but who has even complained about scalpers here recently? You guys sound unhinged trying to ~gatekeep~ rereleases, as if it's somehow your decision and not AP's.
>>10756961Lmao are you new or just dumb? Have you never seen the secondhand market thread in the past few months?
No new dresses this week
>>10756971I wasn't expecting anything at all with it being golden week.
>>10756974Wow I'm an idiot and it just occurred to me that Golden Week means we most likely won't get Candy Fairy or even an update before the end of April. What the fuck.
>>10756971Wow. AP's making knock-offs of their own designs and they're... terrible.
Absolutely cursed. What's up with the poorly designed hang tag design on the ear too? That used to be a cute detail and now it's a just a flat area with a gem and a butt shape?
>>10756976>>10756977the quality downgrade....... its like taobao level now.
Lolitas: We miss old AP mascots and printsAP: Say no moreAP: >>10756613 >>10756977
>>10756977Why are the crystal eyes so small? It wouldn't be so bad if they were a bit bigger.
>>10756989Right? Like even this monstrosity was better, and I thought that was the lowest AP could sink.
>>10756977I especially hate it because the rhinestones always fall off on AP jewelry. Dude is gonna be eyeless soon
>>10757024Called getting cheap rhinestone from the craft store and it’s fixed
>>10757052Id rather it not be rhinestone in the first place. No loss no problem>>10757024I wish they’d make nicer jewelry that wasn’t plastic crap but even that would be too much for AP
The jewelry/sock release has been delayed.
>>10757282Imagine catering to the Chinese lolitas this hard. AP would never do the same in Paris or the US.
>>10757292How is this catering to Chinese lolitas?Aren't they just admitting their stock is coming from China and they can't get it in time?
>>10757298Shanghai would be expensive to manufacture in. Surely they could use another port if transportation is also an issue.
Another day another candy fairy delay https://twitter.com/ap_tokyoten/status/1519994615226847232
>>10757327They are having issues wow. Imagine having to be head of all of this though
>>10757327>>10757328Jfc. Middle of May now. They should just say June/July.This is so frustrating. Why do they wait until the last second to give any updates? I knew it would be delayed again, but why wait till the last day of April? Surely they knew this information ahead of time. They explicitly mention production in Shanghai being the problem. It's going to be interesting reading the tags whenever we get our orders to see where it was made.Nakayoshi Bunny has no hope at this point. Not even waiting for an update. Just going to assume August.
>>10757349When doesn’t AP wait until the last second to give updates? They stall as much as they can before they’re forced to write their shameful delay update.
>>10757349I work at a clothing company that manufactures mostly in China and the situation in a lot of industrial areas there is fucked right now. Many of our orders are late because fabric mills have been closed, factories are operating on a reduced schedule and there’s major shipping and freight delays both domestic and international. AP is probably experiencing similar problems, even if the garments are sewn in Japan there could be delays with fabric, trims, labels, etc that come from suppliers in China.>>10757313You don’t really get to choose, Shanghai is the major port and there’s a shortage of containers too so you have to get whatever you can book and it’s expensive as hell right now.
>>10757461Thank you for the information and insight.
>>10757438You're right, it just feels like this situation is a lot bigger and AP could have done better by being as transparent as possible. I'm more disappointed by the bad communication than by having to wait. >>10757461I kind of wonder how all of this will end. Weren't the lock downs only supposed to be a few days at the start, and now it's been weeks/a month? It seems like there's really not an end in sight because of how aggressive their government is being.
It feels like I'm the only hyped for this release. How often does AP usa get releases? This would be my 1st order from them and I'm not sure how they work
>>10757827They announce on social media when releases should be about 2 days beforehand. Lately releases have been every 2 weeks, so this specific dress should release on the 6th at noon (PST).
>>10757831Nice! Thank you!
>>10757827I feel so sad that new lolitas get excited for nu-AP releases
>>10757834It's cotton, basic and cute
>>10757827No, I'm waiting for it too. It looks comfy and reminds me of 2000s AP
>>10757834It’s a cute dress anon. It’s too bad you can’t buy taste.
I'm hearing whispers on the internet that the lockdown could delay things for multiple industries until July. Take that with a huge grain of salt, but I guess prepare for the worst in terms of MTOs.
>>10758207The only MTO I''m waiting for is Melty Berry, so it's going to be years at this point
>>10757827I feel like a lot of fatties are going to buy this dress because of the measurements and then cry when it's janky
>>10757526>because of how aggressive their government is being.Well considering how transmissible Omicron is and how other countries gave up at controlling spread and are just claiming mass infection is fine... Seems like it will be awhile.
>>10758207Chinese Gossip, is that you?
>>10758372I'm wondering how many general AP releases will see delays and/or undetermined release dates too. I kind of feel like this 5/3 jewelry release is just the beginning of larger disruptions.
I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but I really don't like how outdated AP USA is. Like they don't update twitter, they're advertising things from years ago, their blog hasn't been updated since Feb. Like what?
>>10759048AP USA has always sucked.
>>10758354their fat pig arms will look like shit in those sleeves, f in chatwhat was that misty sky on crack special release they teased a while ago? I can't find the image anymore. does anyone still have it?
>>10759076I don’t feel like doing the work and cropping the photo.
Any worn pictures of Sugar Cotton in the wild yet?
>>10759287
>>10759297Looks cheap desu I wish AP ditched the the shiny polyester shit
>>10759305This is cotton anon
>>10759297Honestly thought that this was a taobao dress
>>10759297Would be cute if it wasn't a huge sack :/
>>10759297Cut those nails anon
>>10759316idk how people pay to have their nails done as such wtf
>>10759297I know it's an old trick to pin clothes on the back of the model to make them more form fitting, but they must be pinning so much of the fabric back on their models it's straight deceptive at this point. It looks nowhere near this big in the catalog.
>>10759076>>10759297Exhibit A
>>10759364You literally can't see clearly what her arms looks like though
>>10759379Yes you can
>>10759408Literally no you cannot. Not where the sleeves are at the shoulders which is how you would tell if the sleeves were squishing her arms.
>>10759324The photoshoot samples could also be in a smaller spec than the production to better fit their models.
>>10759409You're fat, get over it.
Hello girls. I am here for the first time and i dont really understand where i can ask for help. I want to know if anyone owns smth from the moon night theatre release. I want to hear your experience of cleaning this print. Or maybe u can help me to find some kinds of reviews? Im wandering if i can wash it by washing machine on delicate program
>>10759409nta but she's clearly fat. look at her hammy arms and fat fingers.
>>10759499i would go ask laundry questions etc in the j-fashion stupid questions thread instead of ap general
>>10759500I assumed it was just unfortunate angles bc I find it hard to believe anyone fat would self post to cgl.
>>10759524How new?
>>10759529Yeah I guess it was silly to expect fat people to have common sense.
>>10759530You also forgot that the average gull is fat.
>>10759076Nah, sleeves stretch to 50 cm. This is a dress for fattys. Especially since there's no shirring
okay i know it's been ages but every now and then my brain registers the angelic pretty logo on new release images when usually it just filters it out as useless info and i get annoyed at how ugly it is compared to the old one. so, so ugly
>>1075957950cm seems like a mistake. That's almost a small waist measurement. I guess that's if you're really pushing it to the max though and about to pop all the stitches and elastic.
>>10756508AP USA is banned from AX.It’s a whole thing. Can’t go too far into it without outing myself, but you’re definitely not going to see AP USA at AX, and probably not AP at all.
>>10759614you still on here? i know who you are.
>>10759614How did the get banned kek
It's dropping tomorrow at noon! Fucking hate how AP USA doesn't take paypal
So uh... How many people got an email from AP USA that their stuff is lost?
>>10759665pics?
>>10759614you can't just say that and then not tell why it's banned lmao
>>10759712NAYRT but
>>10759615Nta but sure Jan. If you’re in any California comm, you know about it. It’s old news.
>>10759614Lol who did Lynda piss off? Starry Candy Box did have a booth in the dealers hall in … 2008? 2009? I can’t remember the exact year. But they paid for the space, they weren’t guests or anything. They never came from Japan for AX because Japan Expo in Paris was always at the same time and they were there, though that’s if AX ever invited them anyway.
>>10759743RIP senpai, that hella sucks

>>10759886I'm happy to see them rereleasing skirts but this is probably one of their worst apron cuts. The top is so plain. I wanted the switching jsk though so I won't complain.

I'm a big Frech Cafe fan so I'm very happy about this MTO. I can finally get the headbows and black socks to match my jsks.Considering an apron skirt but I don't think I NEED it.>>10759853Switching is the better and more popular jsk cut though, it always sells for way more. I am a little sad about the OP though, I might have doubled up on a colorway and got one. It's a pipe dream, but I wish they'd rerelease the blouse (in original sizing), bag and short socks, even if not an MTO.
>>10757827Did you get your dress?
What colorway of French Café are y’all getting? I’m leaning towards pink but so undecided.
>>10759958I'm probably going for the red. I fell in love with the navy years ago, but the red is less of a clusterfuck of colors. It looks easier to dress down for casual looks
>>10759958I have all the colorways but pink. The pink always came off as a weird shade of pink to me, but if you like it, go for it.
>>10759977Oh and my favorite colorway is the blue, but the red and black are definitely easier to coordinate.
>>10759958Never understood the french cafe love, truthfully. Looks tacky to me.

rip anyone trying to get Retro Cafe, immediately sold out besides the pink KC. maybe they'll do a MTO
>>10760069The OP is still in stock on Paris, although they're sold out of headbows
I feel so tacky because I kind of like how chaotic this headbow is. On the other hand, the big hearts at the end look like weird dog ears.I think AP has cornered me and I have Stockholm syndrome.
>>10759958blue or red. i normally love pink but it doesn't look right on this dress
>>10759903When is it coming out?

MTO is up on AP USA
Random discussion topic:What was AP's last good release? For me personally, it was Toy Doll Box. (Happy Garland could have been great on cotton and with a different cut) Any other anons like me and haven't bought a new release in ages? (Not counting MTOs)
>>10760461If my ss would have succeeded then my last purchase would've been retro cafe. Before that I bought lovely organdy, it's pretty cute and comfy. I'm more into solids in general though.
>>10760461I wish they still did skirts, for the cuts that were questionable
>>10760461Of the releases that weren't MTO's or a limited stock re-release, I actually would say Happy Garland was the last good one for me personally. It's not cotton, but if it had to be poly, I was glad AP choose to use grosgrain for it and not wooly viyella like they have been doing for recent prints. (I would've liked Flower Garden Teatime in cotton.)Besides that, I've only really been buying accessories every so often. The only new main piece I've bought recently was Topping Heart in one of the new colorways.
>>10760461I've always been really picky and the percentage of pieces I like vs dislike hasn't changed much from 5+ years ago. But I'm a tacky Meta-fag and like weird shit.Just looking thru the past few years on lolibrary, I absolutely love>Cherry Stamp>Jelly Candy toys>Fresh Strawberry Diner (didn't like the cuts tho)>Girly Sticker>Dolly Heart>space lollipop>Neon Star Diner
>>10760461Antoinette Decoration (2016) was the last time I had respect for AP.
>>10759958I want to like the navy but it's too American flag looking for me
>>10760461Unbirthday>>107605712016 really was the last best year of AP though, everything beyond that is reaching.
>>10759958Genuinely thinking about getting the black but the pink is cute too
>>10759958Blue is the best.
>>10760461ice cream parlor
>>107605752016 had a number of shite releases with a few good ones to balance it out. 2015 was the last solid year with 16 clinging on to a little hope.
>>10760461Sugar Cotton OTL
>french cafe is not in fatty sizes
>>10761018bc it's not a dress that fatties care about. stuff like hc, sc, ctp, milky planet, etc are the ones fatties like most. those first three were already rereleased in bigger-sized mtos iirc
>>10760577Maybe it's just me but I think print is ugly and bodyline tierI like prints like Sweet Cream House and MCD
>>10761376I have the Cat's Tea Party MTO and it didn't seem any larger than my other AP prints from the same time period. I can't find the MTO measurements on Lolibrary (they only have the 2020 set and I'm not sure if they changed it from the MTO), but I remember people complaining that it was the smaller, original sizing. Which is dumb. I honestly feel like all rereleases should be in the original sizing.Honey Cake was a nightmare and it makes me die inside that it could happen to another rerelease/MTO that actually matters. Making something polyester and huge is an abomination.
>>10761395I have both the original release CTP and the MTO version and can confirm the sizing is almost identical. There's a 1.5 cm difference between the two dresses I own. Could be due to the elastic being more stretched on one of them.
>>10760627I do think there was a change in the overall feel of the brand in 2015 or so. It's hard to explain, but if you sort jsks in lolibrary and look at 2014 and earlier compared to 2015 and later you can see it. It's as if they completely changed their team of designers and artists. Perhaps a key designer left the Company then? They started using polyester other than chiffon way more around this time. They also started rehashing themes over and over - so we get the same themes with an updated print each year (a strawberry print, a cherry print, a mermaid print, a space print, etc.).I like a small handful of releases from after 2015, but I admit I have questionable taste sometimes. Doll's tea party is cute. I used to like Dolly Dot a lot. For some reason, I really like Neon Star Diner even though I hate the fabric and its kind of huge on me.
>>10759958I got red. A lot of the print blends into the background, but I like how it tones the dress down. I also considered pink but I own too many pink pieces already.
>>10761395Ironically the other colorways outside of white for the re-release for Toy Fantasy felt larger than the white one does. Not sure why.
I can't believe AP is so stubborn that they haven't announced a delay for Nakayoshi Bunny when it's this obvious. I guess we'll see it in 2023 with Candy Fairy.
>>10761482I’m not sure when it happened, but I’m pretty sure that the designers that were there 10 years ago are gone, Maki and Asuka aren’t the faces of the brand anymore which could be age but I think they left (or at least Maki, the prints are shit now). I think the lack of good prints combined with lower quality materials really made the brand lose the “sparkle” that it had, it kept the prestige because of reputation but I think a lot of new stuff just sells out because of Chinese girls with more money than taste who want to feel superior for having a big wardrobe and having trouble finding older stuff they want. I bought my first AP items in 2007 and the most recent print I have is from 2015. I have some more recent accessories/jewelry/socks but nothing big. I wish they still had good designs but it seems that the heyday is in the past.
>>10761648Honestly, I think what is happening is Asuka is running it into the ground as CEO and maybe Maki has given up, because ..that's a feel when your peer somehow surpasses you and you do all the legwork.
>>10761651Where the hell are you pulling this from? Asuka is not the CEO.
>>10761648I feel like they are both still working there as they are always tea party "guests" but they definitely have less involvement with the design process now as I haven't had a feeling that any of the designs are theirs.I'm grateful for the chinese lolitas because they keep the fashion and brands alive but man they are also annoying with their spending habits and ugly trends.
>>10760461The last one I really liked was Little Bunny Strawberry. It was cotton and was a really good print with cute accessories. I'm not sure why other people in here aren't counting it. It was a blood bath to get, too. Also laughing, the captcha is 4APYN.Mostly its been an N for me, captcha.
>>10761651Maki still does her usual style for her own brand/collabs so I think it’s mainly someone else doing the print art now -and they aren’t good
>>10761716What's her own brand? I can't find it searching her full name.
>>10761018Not to be horrible but a starting waist of 73 cm is still very generous. At least they put in partial shirring so it won’t be too baggy on people with sub-70 waists, but I wish MTOs wouldn’t change sizing at all.
>>10760577It was so hard for me to decide. The blue is my favorite, but I also love the black and pink. The red all blends together too much
>>10761714>I'm not sure why other people in here aren't counting itI personally just don't like berry prints because I don't like red. Also like >>10761482 said, the repetition of prints like this got really boring. But you're right that it was a more solid release than basically everything else (cotton, art that isn't atrocious). It just still faded into the background for me due to preference/lacking novelty.
>>10761714I liked Little Bunny Strawberry, but chronologically, it was not the last print/overall release that I liked. (And it mostly is just the "yearly strawberry print" to me, even if it is nice.)I do wish it would've been the beginning of more prints in cotton though.
>>10761734I don't mind the repetition because it means that as someone who likes specific themes that I'll always get at least one new thing each year or more acessories. It'd be impossible to only release themes that had never been done before. Someone out there loves poodle or dog prints, someone wants berries, someone wants marine themes, and of course many want toy prints and we get multiple toy prints a year and no one complains about that theme repeating. The issue is less the theme repetition and more the quality of prints and materials. If every nu AP thing was on par with Ice Cream Parlor, LBS, Happy Garland, and Bear's Chocolaterie, with a few adjustments, and on the nicer poly or cotton I think most of us would be fine with it.
>>10761714I just didn't like the pink bunnies. Everything else about it was A+ and I even loved all the cuts which is rare for modern AP, but the bunnies were that ugly pink color that just ruins the whole thing for me.
>>10761767Same. The bunnies were ugly. I sold mine soon after buying it. It just was far too country lolita looking for me.
>>10761782I'm >>10761714 and I guess since my style for sweet often leans country, it didn't bother me. I especially loved the tulle sleeve blouses they sold with the series. Crazy happy they released it in white x pink Thought disappointed the white x pink wristcuffs are a different pink.
>>10761782>>10761767I agree, something about the pink bunnies didn't work. It's fine on Cherry Berry Bunny but with LBS the bunnies should have stayed white and tan maybe.
>>10761786They're plain looking. They went with toy stuffed bunnies which are even more simple than any of their other toy bunny prints, which is kind of a weird contradicting theme/style for the art direction. The strawberries are too defined for those bunnies being really undefined and..stylized.
>>10761716I think you're mistaking AP's Maki for maki_candy_, they're not the same maki
>>10761789the whole new bunny silhouette is derpy and fat
>>10761819It's bad. Not the designs we fell inlove with.
>>10761810No, ribbonitababydoll is Maki’s solo work. She just did a collab with Candy for a pop up market.MAKI CANDY is a dude anyway.
>>10761719The sizing probably didn't change. AP just measures their clothing differently now than they did back then. The sc mto op was also listed with bigger measurements than the original and turned out to be the same exact size when it arrived.
>>10761651Where did you get the idea that Asuka is CEO? Pretty sure it’s still Honda running things. Although regardless of who’s running things, despite their decline in designs, they haven’t made any bad business decisions… they still sell out most releases. We may hate it and think it’s trash now, but as long as it’s selling out, doing the same thing isn’t “running the business into the ground”. Take some business classes before you act like you know what you’re talking about
Candy Fairy has (mostly) arrived! The black OP is still delayed unfortunately.
>>10761928Wow, I'm actually pleasantly surprised. I was basically sure that it would be delayed until July. Thank god I don't like black colorways.I'm still wondering how Nakayoshi Bunny will fair in all of this.
So I went in person to AP SF since I was in the area. It’s the first time I’ve seen an AP store in person in 3 years and holy shit it was so disappointing. The new releases are hideous and so unbelievably cheap looking. I’m mostly a lonelita, so the last release I recall seeing in person was icp. Lemonade float looks decent but a little cheap ish. Girly apples stunned me, especially the special set op. It looks so cheap. You know how AP usually uses the nicer, thicker ribbon? Not so for this release. The ribbons look genuinely awful and are the super shiny cheap kind. The detachable sleeves on the op set are that super shiny cheap polyester. Fresh strawberry diner also uses the super cheap ribbon, and the fabric looks really odd, almost faded, though it is better than the wooly viella. Lovely toy box is actually hideous. Like holy shit the online photos are almost deceiving, because irl the color palette looks awful. Like really really bad. I’m so sad about this. The only thing that even looked passable was a non print, cotton jsk that had some old school vibes. It’s really a shame. I already knew I didn’t want to buy nu ap, but seeing it in person and what the ap stores have turned into kind of stings because you can see that the AP that made me fall in love with the fashion is well and truly dead.
>>10761946This checks out. It's not worth going to SF to see the AP store at all.>>10761948I absolutely want to set this on fire.
>>10761946>Lovely toy box is actually hideousThis. A girl in my comm has it so I’ve seen it irl and that might be the ugliest colors I’ve ever seen on an ap dress. The blue is this nasty teal color, and the pinks don’t really match at all, plus the actual design of the background print feels unfinished. In fairness, I thought it was uggo in the stock photos, but the stock photos definitely make the colors look less awful and I think they clearly used a tone editor on photoshop to reduce how badly it clashes when you see it in person.
>>10761944I like the art of the drinks, but dislike literally everything else. None of these cuts spark joy and neither do most of the accessories.
>>10761482I too have questionable-tier taste, but agree - I think the most recent print I have is Princess Cat.
>>10761972that's cause you're a clolita primarily, not an AP fag
>>10761986Stop sperging about clolita already, this is the dumbest fucking meme that cgl has ever shat out yet
>>10761944I think the print is adorable and the fabric is that lovely glittery chiffon. Very tempting!
>>10761991>the salty clolita says
just stop replying to dumb comments, these people thirst for negative attention
>>10761993says the newfag
>>10761996gb2ebaumsworld
>>10761997sorry, forgot you weren't born yet >>10761997gb2tiktok
>>10761996>>10761991>>10761972is this u? we know your tiktoker ass posts here.
>>10761996it's as if the term is fairly new because the concept also is. if you're so obsessed with things not changing one would think you'd welcome a word that separates garbage clolita from actual japanese lolita. also, chinese lolitas do differentiate from chinese lolita and japanese.
>>10761999Those socks are awful. Are those snags on the one or just wrinkled
>>10762000the only ones sperging are the cheap itas wearing clolita and thinking they belong with us..
>>10762007yep. they hate being called out.
>>10761948Cute print on a horrifically ugly dress
>>10762020OP cut is literal trash, jewelry is cute as fuck. I'm so tempted to add marine prints to my wardrobe since they're pretty cute and easy to dress up fancier but I know it'll be a lot of work bc I currently own no blue and sax items.
>>10762034By OP cut I mean the one that has contrasting bodice fabric
>>10762020I hope the put the print on a teacup or mug desu.
Can we petition for AP to raise their prices to improve their quality? The yen is going to shit right now.. You *should* fear for your lolita brands right now, because Japan's trade is about to be garbage.
>>10762056Japan has been in a recession forever now nonny if a brand was going to die they would have done it in 2020/2021 like every other business that downsized or closed shop due to the pandemic.
>>10762037this
>>10762037This print would look better on a glass like the Fruity Lemon one.
>>10762088i don't really want a glass on a glass.
>>10761986Clolita will never happen
>>10762096It would be cuter if they made a parfait glass that was inspired by the print art.
>>10762056Yen rises and falls constantly. They’ve been in a recession since the 90s as well so calm your tits. They’ll be ok.
>>10761948Tempted to buy this just to turn it into a skirt
>>10762130good idea honestly.
>>10762102hey random newfag clolita, your opinion doesn't matterJust thought I'd let you know. It's the same as bittersweet. *You* don't get to tell anyone anything. The collective decision made it happen.
>>10762056The yen is shit because they’ve let the tourism industry basically fail because of the xenophobic public. Once they open up to tourism again the economy will get better but they won’t let that happen at least until after the election.
>>10762159>thinking bittersweet was a thingYou’re hysterical lmao
>>10762159go back to plebbit
>>10761946This was my experience at AP around 2019. It's really bad. There wasn't a single item in the shop that came even close to the quality they had on pieces in 2008-2016.>>10761986see above. AP is honestly worse quality than some of the top taobao brands these days. Fresh strawberry diner is so fucking cheap looking. Why couldn't they have at least sprung for grosgrain/thick matte ribbon? Even TaoBao brands do that. For japanese brands, it's basically baby or bust at this point. Meta has some ok releases, but Baby is the only major brand that's consistently producing anything above costume tier for sweet lolitas rn.
>>10762175The yen was shit since the 90s and the Japanese economy never fully recovered because adults are wising up that their lives are capitalist misery and don't want to bring a child into the world if they can't actually raise them well or know they'll have a happy future.
>>10762210BAAAAAAAAAW more, newfag
>>10762312capitalism isn't the problem. Their ass backwards economic policies and refusal to let go of their xenophobia to adapt to modern global markets is.
>>10762305>For japanese brands, it's basically baby or bust at this pointfucking ew
>>10762365kek what a shit take. Catch you in your ita-ass AP then.
>>10762377anon, why are you in the AP thread?
>>10762377Thinking Baby>AP in any way is some serious NLOG shit. Definitely has nothing to do with your being a salty poorfag, you're just soooo quirky!
>>10762382Baby is the same price as AP retail so I’m not sure why that equals poor fag to you. Ya it’s cheaper secondhand but a lot of AP is cheap secondhand if it’s not prints or the print isn’t popular.
>>10761960this, the drinks have a beautiful jewelry jelly vibe and i am so sad they took everything else in this direction. it really could have been so good, especially with the cherry headdress concept.lol captcha was WWWHA
>>10762398I love the OP cut I just need it to be at least 2 cm bigger. RIP. The headdress is fugly though, reminds me of AliExpress or Amazon lolita style with those silly excessive lace ruffles on the headband.Tbh I'll get the normal jsk cut if it comes to AP USA and I'm able
>>10761960I feel like these days on the occasion that I like a new AP print they inevitably ruin it with the worst cuts imaginable. Seriously what even is that second OP cut?
>>10762378NTA but is this thread for anything other than shitting on nu ap anymore? I love AP, but you’d have to be either very stupid or very inexperienced to not see that Baby is head and shoulders above AP quality/design these days. >>10762396Baby retail is actually more expensive. The cotton releases are around $400 and I think it was the one chocolate strawberry cut that was around $450 or so? Either way, baby is definitely not the cheap brand. I guess older ap is more expensive than older baby, but that’s mostly because older AP wasn’t objectively hideous and has key hype prints.
>>10762382kek what? it's the same price and objectively higher quality material
>>10762382Baby: >still manufactures in Japan>still uses high quality cotton > still puts out highly complicated cuts with high quality finishingAP: >serges seams lazily>produces in phillipino sweatshops>uses the wooly Vitelli cheap fabric from hell> ruins the awesome art they do have with hideous taobao-sequel cuts and fabric arrangements because it saves costs to have all-over prints. But sure, baby is the cheap brand.
>>10762401This. I actually like APs art style more, but the way they adapt it into fabric and cuts is just so unbelievably disappointing
>>10762159your opinion also doesn't matter, you fat amerifag. chinese lolitas have a stronghold on the market, they influence it more than anyone. sorry about your irrelevance whitey
>>10762408Also nta, but I think we roll our eyes at people commenting that Baby is "better" because a lot of us just don't like the general "look" of Baby. Like, yes, it's easy to see the quality is better, but does it give us the same magic as old AP that pulled us into the fashion? No.And that's why we don't care that it's "better." Because that doesn't mean anything to us. We just want old AP to come back (and we know it probably never will, besides MTOs). We aren't jumping ship to Baby, because it just isn't our style and never will be.
>>10762422old schoolers are fucking newfag cancer of the board imo. you said everything I would have said, but I don't give these cancerous old schoolers the time of day to respond to.
>>10762422No one said you should jump ship to Baby, but upthread an anon implied that people who like Baby are poor fags because apparently they’re too fucking stupid to realize that it costs the same or more. Some of us like both AP and Baby and some don’t like Baby and it doesn’t fucking matter but don’t call those of us that do like it poorfags because the dresses don’t cost $500+ secondhand
>>10762412does baby use high quality cotton? the last few new releases they have look shiny as all hell. and there was a massive difference in fabric at first when they started doing those classic solid rereleases.
>>10762473it's a toss-up. i reserved during a few of them and notably the shirring babydoll JSK was a bit shiny, it's the kind that dulls and looks nicer over time though.
>>10762473I don't think they use as much of the textured cotton releases, but I have several of their newer releases and one was a thicker, nice cotton (sugar boquet) and the other was a lighter cotton but not see-through (fallin ribbon). I was satisfied with both quality, especially since they still use cotton lace.
Photos of Candy Fairy are starting to pop up.
>>10762547Fuck yes I'm so excited to hear back from my ss
More Candy Fairy, stolen from instagram.
>>10763582It looks like ass. I’m glad I didn’t buy this itchy looking thing.
