I won a lace market auction on sunday and the seller still hasn't contacted me or read the message I sent them after winning it, should I be worried ? How much time should I wait before trying to message them again / stressing out for real? They have a lot of good reviews and no negative ones so I was expecting a quicker response, but maybe this is normal idk.

I’m well aware of them being discussed here and on people’s insta stories and I know I’m not the only one who’s bought from them at decent prices. I doubt they’re doing a pseudo-dropshipping operation because their photos are consistent. I’m pretty sure I know where they got the Stardust Fantasia jsk bc I narrowly missed out on the fril listing lol, but I still got it for current market value/below RRP regardless so I’m not mad. What do you guys expect from a LM seller when something gets lost? Is it reasonable to expect all of your money back?
I personally think it's the seller's responsibly to add insurance if they want to protect themselves. I think PayPal's TOS even says it's the responsibility of the seller to provide proof of delivery.

I think it's somewhat buyers responsibility to add insurance too or check seller's policy. Like yeah you will likely get a PayPal refund because PayPal always sides with buyers, but many sellers offer insurance and explicitly say you have to request it since it costs extra and a lot of people don't want to add it to save a couple bucks and get fucked in the end. Many sellers refuse to ship large or pricy things without insurance and some buyers beg them to for a discount.

It's really dependent on if it was addressed at all. If its in your TOS and the buyer doesn't ask or asks for no insurance then the buyer is at fault for not reading and being cheap.

If you're so concerned then you'd really want it to be insured right? The concept itself is predicated on the idea that you insure things whose value you're uncomfortable with losing and you don't for things you don't care about.

That seems like a consideration for the seller more so than for the buyer though. The sale is not really complete until its in the buyer's hands, and every seller on LM is using PayPal, so they have to play by those rules.
I know being an individual seller sucks, but I just charge the buyer for any added insurance without asking if they want it. Always. If they claim it's too expensive, they should have already known from my listing. I don't really understand sellers who are fast and loose with postal services. Something will eventually get lost, and a buyer is not going to shrug it off.

It's actually just the seller screwing themselves over when they don't include insurance in the shipping charges. I rather lose a single buyer than lose both the item and the money.

There are also times where asswipe buyers lie and claim the package wasn’t delivered so they keep the item and make a PayPal claim to get their money refunded. I’m sick of issues with purchases going smoothly so I stopped selling on LM altogether.
