>>
>>10686386
are you serious...did she lose her fucking mind?
>>
>>10686386

It's not even worth a quarter of that, regardless of the fabric. They're really trying to take advantage of the oldschool boom lately putting their prices so high, and they're an indie brand, so I'm not sure where they get the audacity. No one is going to pay that much for non-brand. Their blouse is also £360. I could buy something legitimate for that much.
>>
>>10686399
Indie brands often cost the same as firsthand brand. Usually not more though which is why RRM suddenly charging so much more for this stuff is pretty excessive.
>>
>>10686401
Yeah, not these ridiculous prices though. Their lace is from AliExpress. I'd understand if everything was actually sourced locally and made by hand, but it isn't.
>>
>>10686399
I wonder if it is that price because there is hand embroidery on it, which can take a lot of time to do?
>>
>>10686403
just eyeballing as someone who embroiders but for a hobbyist that amount of work looks like it would take maybe 10 dedicated hours, give or take 2. i don’t think that justifies 1800 pound with the rest of the dress… it looks so weird and ill-fitting as well, and the embroidery is just kind of slapped on there with no regard for design. highway robbery at best.
>>
>>10686405
also same anon but inb4 we get an Instagram infographic in the next 3 days that emphasizes how long the embroidery took lol. shouldn’t be selling things with embroidered features and calculating price by the hour if you aren’t a pro/can’t do it within a reasonable timeframe, just sayin
>>
>>10686030
It looks so weird. A rose border that’s…. bordering nothing? Just slapped onto the front of a dress? Why?

I’d be surprised if a single customer (who isn’t just a supportive friend or something) buys this.
>>
>>10686432
Even if I were a supportive friend, probably wouldn't shell out almost 2500 USD for it. Like, what the fuck?
>>
>>10686437
You know some ita is going to buy it and wear it to an OTT event with a bunch of costumey historical reenactment accessories. Just so they can say “The designer of this dress is my friend! She HAND EMBROIDERED this, isn’t that amazing?”

The ruffles look no better than bodyline
Does she genuinely believe her handmade pieces are worth that much just because she's baiting kamikaze girls fans?
>>
>>10686450
The ratio of fabric to embroidery is what I hate so much about this. Plus the length of the dress to ruffle ratio as well.
>>
>>10686450
I don't hate it but I can't help thinking that it kinda resembles a chobits cosplay made by a 14y.o. the night before con

>>
>>10686461
>>10686464
>>10686466
This was exactly my thoughts when I saw this. Obviously she blows the hell out of her pics so you can’t see her features but oof the lighting and makeup here is terrible. Also the proportions of the dress on her are not good.
>>
>>10686461
Eh, that's just what happens when she doesn't blur out her eye bags and laugh lines or use over exposure filters. The lighting is also just awful. Clearly the photographer doesn't know much about angles, lighting, or editing.
>>
>>10686477
>>10686405
>>10686464
I think the pictures are just unfortunate. I expect a bit more detail all round for £1800 but they failed to take any good pictures of the bustier embroidery, for example. The skirt is where it falls apart for me. Rose embroidery looks nice but there's just so much... nothing, on the rest of it. Ruffles aren't enough for something that, judging from the styling and pricing, is meant to be a wedding garment.

For the photos of the models, it isn't just O. The lighting and angles for many of their photos would make any otherwise attractive person look weird.
>>
>>10686437
I doubt her own friends can even afford her pieces
>>
>>10686502
i might be wrong but the bustier detail looks either machine embroidered/some kind of overlay but it is hard to make out from that potato quality picture. i’m betting on the ribbon embroidery being the only hand embroidered aspect though. it’s the length that’s really messing with me. if it were shorter, the disparity between the big empty space and the embroidery would be less jarring

> covers the work that goes into the items tailored to your specific measurements

summer tales did that for the normal price kek, you pre-ordered a dress and chose a size from their sizing list or gave your own measurments

anyways this is an obvious cashgrab, the other collection already was but this shit is absurd
>>
>>10686450
I understand the price of the other collection, we can deem it not worthy, but it makes sense for their clothes to be expensive, even a bit more than brand. Now, not only the price of this dress doesn’t make any sense, the dress itself doesn’t make sense.

Without the embroidery it’s a boring dress with poorly made ruffles that is relatively cheap to make. The embroidery, which should be what really made the dress desirable, is generic and placed so weirdly, it looks like someone started an embroidery project and gave up in the middle of their work.

They’ve released better for cheaper
>>
it’s literally the same price as one year college intuition in my country
>>
>>10686461
I hardly recognized her
>>
>>10686450
>>10686681
Just checked her ig to compare and she literally looks like a different person
>>
>>10686681
Nah, I think she's pretty recognizable but those dark circles and the sloppy eye make-up are hilarious, why'd they do her so dirty? Makes you wonder if she even really consented those pics being used for promo.
>>
>>10686683
She looks like a thumb here
>>
>>10686450
>>10686683
From meeting her in person a few times those photos are really bad. She does photoshop, however that rrm "shoot" is terrible and makes her look awful
>>
>>10686663
How can it be "tailored to your specific measurements" when its an elastic waist skirt? I cannot believe the audacity of charging £1,800 for every babby lolita's first sewing project.
>>
>>10686657
That’s what happens when you copy people and trends
>>
>>10686689
>bamboo silk
this chinese meme isn't sustainable. also she's killing her brand by trying to pander. she doesn't have the capital to support this.
>>
>>10686686
Agreed. The RRM shoot did her really dirty. Obviously her instagram is different with filters and all but imo she still mostly looks like what she posts. RRM pictures just look fucking weird.
>>
>>10686706
this, viscose is aka cellulose silk lmfao
she thinks she's slick
>>
>>10686755
isn't cellulose plant fiber/better because it isn't extracted from the worms? cotton and other fabrics are also plant fibers. i think the price is outrageous but just curious
>>
>>10686657
It doesn't even look oldschool or something that could remind you of oldschool. The colours clash, the logo is inserted awkwardly, and I'd rather not talk about the clip-art bells and the frame. It could've been done a lot better than this, but it's okay for amateur standards ig.
>>
>>10686764
90% sure silkworms only eat mulberry leaves and a specific kind which is why silk is so expensive.

https://www.carpetcouture.com/blog/why-is-bamboo-silk-also-called-as-bamboo-viscose/
>>
>>10685873
kek, i recognized those cheap bodyline socks at the first glance. They're obviously not the best quality wise, but they're pretty sturdy, and ideal for fooling around like they do.

>>
>>10687045
Whom did you choose
>>
>>10686663
to be fair, summertales uses the cheapest ali cotton lace available for all of their pieces
>>
>>10687241
even if they did use really good quality lace I doubt they'd ever make their stuff as expensive as rrm
>>
>>10687116
kek which one of the discordfags are you?
>>
>>10687272
Kek, my guess is either O or Nef
>>
>>10687297
Probably Nef considering O was posted here and people were talking about how much better she normally looks than the RRM stock photos.
>>
>>10687302
>and people were talking about how much better she normally looks than the RRM stock photos
I suspect that was O trying to defend herself
>>
>>10687310
I think it's probably more likely that people were willing to compliment someone else's looks only so they could shit talk RRM's photography quality because complaining about the clothes being overpriced and not sustainable enough for the cost was getting repetitive and RRM shop owner girl is the current target of all the old school vitriol itt and the last one (with the caveat that a lot of the criticism is reasonable and her prices are wack lately).
>>
>>10687116
I really hope you feel better soon, nonnie.
>>
I'm thinking about commissioning a full/soft bonnet (like baby's old bunny ear bonnets) because I have not found a single one for sale and I've wanted one for years... has anyone else done this? where/who do you recommend? :[
>>
>>10687460
LabDeMervielles on etsy makes nice well constructed ones. But if you have thick hair or a big head make sure to order a custom one.
>>
>>10687432
Thanks friend. It’s sad how petty everyone here is, I’m a total anon. Not some efamous person looking for attention. Which makes the vendetta even sillier, I’m an absolute no one and just enjoy discussing the fashion.

Wish I could post pics but I’ll for sure leave reviews when I get my dresses. One is Russian from the links posted and the other is from a Vietnamese sewist

It's been 4 days and I still don't see the Heirloom Rose MTO set on RRM. Do we have to order it by email?
>>
>>10688990
damn people actually wanna buy things from rrm? I thought we went over this
>>
>>10688996
nayrt but looking at their website, this photo actually makes me want to buy this set...

anyone who buys that embroidery dress is a fucking retard though.
>>
>>10689006
agreed, I want to but it's just way out of my budget
>>
>>10688990
It's worth just sending over an email to ask desu, or messaging them on insta/fb
>>
>>10689017
okay, nevermind, just looked at the prices. thanks but i'll stick to my karami jsk
>>
The sleeves look like they're just falling off...
>>
>>10689027
It looks a bit grubby here
>>
>>10689027
Damn if the price wasn't already too ridiculous I would be disappointed by those sleeves. Nothing worse than detachable sleeves that don't connect properly.
>>
>>10689027
Holy shit she’s never seen an actual oldschool blouse besides bodyline. Kek. That’s why the sleeves aren’t attached at the right point inside the sleeve

£209 ($288) btw
>>
>>10689006
Even the model’s upper arms are showing through. What in the hell
>>
>>10689017
Literally though, I think they're missing a lot of buyers because of the pricing
>>
>>10689253
If anyone buys it I will judge you lmao
>>
>>10689027
In her 'defense' I think every single picture including promotional material does these pieces dirty.

Definitely, I had money prepared for this even (about €350) which I thought would be enough for something like a skirt and blouse. Alas, just the blouse is like £360. I still have the money to get something but it wouldn't be a full set like I wanted. I know many others who were interested but just seriously couldn't afford that.

I was prepared to pay full brand prices for the OP but the price is way above my personal limit. It's pretty, but not prettier than Baby. I don't earn enough to support this brand. Also, I hate the tiny waist ties, so that was also part of it.

It looks a little bit better when worn, but that gap between the short and long sleeves is pretty annoying. Pretty sure this could've been avoided.
>>
What were the golden years for buying secondhand old school from japan?
When do you guys think we're gonna run out of it?
>>
>>10689337
No, picture quality would not make those sleeves visibly hang off in that photo or on the model.
>>
>>10689374
The gap is annoying? It’s not supposed to be there at all. Why are you WKing this hard for a very obvious fuck-up.
>>
>>10689394
It's annoying because that gap could've been avoided, the issue is such an easy fix yet she just left it like that, it's lazy work.
