This dress looks more and more horrible every time I see it
>>
>>10669917
I can't speak for the lavender specifically, but the dress is beautiful in person
>>
>>10669921
It looks really scratchy and stiff to me
>>
>>10669925
Nah I have shanghai doll and it's looks like a similar fabric to the mesh parts. Not scratchy at all.
I really hope we get an MTO of this OP one day, the bunny embroidery is too cute.
>>
>>10669912
Nothing exciting is getting released at Nagoya. They can keep their ugly shite. My wallet is safe.
>>
lmaooooooooo I can't believe the old thread maxxed out because people were sperging over color theory
>>
>>10669926
Same, I don't wear this style at all but the mint x pink and the bunnies are so, so cute.
>>
>>10669912
I like this dress in theory and will probably enjoy seeing it on other lolitas, but I hope/wish this has a Haori jacket that I could wear with other j-fashions.
>>
Has anyone made a comparative between the older Sugary Carnival releases and the new ones ? As people in Japan are starting to get it.
>>
>>10669912
>>10669989
I have this OP in mint x pink but have yet to wear it. Love the bunnies and sakura motifs and the flower trim all over. Only down side is the big chest bow isn’t secure with the pin back and kinda makes the front drag. I’ll have to stitch it into the dress to make it sit right.
>>
>>10669912
They could've done a red x white colorway like those retro style kimonos that are trendy now instead of whatever this purple is...
>>
>>10670037
There was a red x pink which I think looked a little intense.
>>
>>10670035
I own the original 2009 op and i ordered the jsk. Will be posting comparison photos if anyone is interested. I ordered thru USA though so it might be awhile. Also wanted to note my 2009 op is NOT faded or damaged in any way (for better comparison of colors and such) i gor lucky that the seller is also the og owner
>>
>>10669912
This looks like a cheap dress up costume for a kindergartner
>>
>>10670035
New one doesn't have a built in petti but that's about it.
>>
>>10670106
excited for this anon, i hope you do!
>>

I actually saw this dress and stock pictures don't do it any justice, the thing is beautiful in person

A White top and Red bottom colourway would have been so awesome D;
>>
>>10670173
I'll give AP the benefit of the doubt that it's a great dress with a terrible stock photo because you're not the only person in the thread who's said that
>>
Soo, will we get a new Halloween release this month?

AP should just give up on releasing new shit and rerelease prints at this point lol
>>
Every release is worse than the last.
>>
>>10670395
Interestingly enough they have done more surprise rereleases this year, Cream Cookie Collection and Honey Cake. It's not necessarily what everyone wants but they are playing around with mixing in rereleases which might be a good sign.
>>
>>10670377
It would be so cute without the apron...
>>
>>10670350
>>10670377
Wow Flower Basket failed hard.
The Paris site still has 3 of each colorway in stock (in the skirt and jsk), which makes me think no one has bought any of them.

AP really just flushed everything down the drain. I wonder if they are even trying anymore. This year and last had some hints that maybe we'd take an actual turn back into OTT sweet, but I guess that's over now. How can AP honestly put out such dud releases when there's such a stark difference between instant sell outs and items rotting in the store?
>>
>>10670355
Sorry it looks similar the garment I confused it for and I'm not an expert on historical Japanese fashion nor did I claim to be? Calm down jesus.

AP USA got a bunch of Happy Garland rings for some reason.
>>

The released Moonlight Castle and some accessories from Happy Garland if you saw their email. I finally got my Lyrical Bunny Face clip
>>
>>10670584

>>
>>10670377
I actually love this release, it reminds me of Petit Bouquet but sweeter/more versatile. I’m honestly surprised it didn’t sell better on the jp market. If it ends up on sale I’ll be grabbing the jsk for sure
>>
>>10670395
agreed. imagine how much more money they would make if they did constant mtos, it's a win for everyone
>>
>>10670539
i guess the real question is, does china like all this stuff that we don't? they are the market that counts most of course
>>
>>10670989
It’s been discussed over and over why this is a bad idea.
>>
>>10670991
It would seem Chinese lolitas don't like it either. I would think the releases would sell out if they did?

It must be some AP designer trying to live out some "my life's work" fantasy and steering AP in the wrong direction. It's like their hoping we'll get Stockholm syndrome.
>>
>>10670539
>anymore. This year and last had some hints that maybe we'd take an actual turn back into OTT sweet, but I guess that's over now.

AP has never been “all OTT all the time”, even back in the day. Don’t freak out because of one mediocre release. Back in the day, solids and non-prints rarely sold out right away. This is normal.
>>
>>10670994
i must have missed it then? i don't see why it would be, other than some people getting bored without new designs
>>
>>10671138

Little House and Fantasic Balloons are getting rereleases for Silver Week. The online shop will be taking reservations.

>>
>>10671392

>>
>>10671479
I'm a bit bummed that they decided to go with the fabric from the first release. I wanted to get the clips, but they won't match the red OP I own.
>>
>>10671479
The lace on this picture looks like what we've seen on Dramatic Heart. I guess this is a hint that AP's going to release it. Too bad, I was hoping for Charles.
>>
>>10671495
Why do they cost more? I would expect that making a set number of pre-paid dresses would cost less than just wasting money on a ton of dresses that may or may not all sell
>>
>>10671530
I'm 90% sure that the red gingham on Dreaming Fantasic Balloon is the same as the second release of Little House, so you might consider grabbing a headband from the Balloon series instead.
>>

>>
>>10673178
The original post you replied to was on topic, anon. You're the one shitting up the AP thread with your policing of people's posts. Talk about the new release or fuck off, please.

On topic discussion:
I hate how AP drops random good items in the middle of a terrible release. It guarantees everyone will be going for the exact same item.
>>
>>10673178
The only person shitting things up is you nonnie. I'm not even the ayrt kek. What is with salty newfags trying to lie about how long they've posted here? Integrate or fuck off.

>>10673179
It wouldn't matter when the good items were released, they'd still be bought up quickly.
>>
AP finally made the URL live again and it's still just one color of Lyrical necklace. RIP all of us. I don't think anything changed.

AP really said "hey the release details were ready a whole 24 hours ago, but we're going to hold back and make you choke with ~anticipation~ instead!"
>>

>>10672920
>>10672918
>>10672917

>>
Paris release went a lot smoother than I thought. For once they put the general release up before 6:30 PM. By the time I was done checking out with the necklace and ring, there were 8 necklaces left and 12 ring left, so I wonder what the original totals were? Maybe 20 for each?
>>
I got the happy garland lyrical bunny necklace and ring at AP Paris general release. I hope it looks better in person than stock photos. Was way easier to get than the face clips for some reason.
>>
>>10673337
I think maybe it was easier to get because there was just one colorway. That means more people can add it too their cart at once than with quantity being split between different colorways.

I'm not super sure though. Maybe people were disappointed by the pink/lavender/mint coloring? I know I personally thought it'd be cuter with a yellow/pink/sax design.
>>
>>10673341
Yeah I also would've preferred yellow! But I thought I'd might as well get it anyway since AP plastic of their characters tend to get scalped secondhand. I want a chance to see it in person before possibly regretting not trying to get at retail. I do think they also have more in stock than usual.
>>
>>10673346
Even if there's more stock, I can see this release going for $200 secondhand. Paris releases are usually the easiest release to buy from, so tonight on the JP site it'll probably instantly be gone. It has heavy Toy Fantasy vibes and we all know that jewelry is some of the most expensive secondhand.

Sorry for repost. I'm an idiot and clicked on the wrong picture.
>>
>>10673350
I also have this necklace and never letting it go. And a mint bashful bear sitting one. I went overboard last year with the witch jewelry series.... I just love these two mascots so much.
>>
>>10673358
We're the same person lol. I have the same mint necklace and all the Toy Fantasy jewelry (giraffee, blowing bubbles, etc, plus rings). They're worth their weight in gold to me, and I idolized them even before the 2020 sweet boom.
>>
>>10673364
Lol that's awesome. I don't have the other toy fantasy animals but they are super cute and rare now. I have the 2011 bunny and bear pochettes, face pouches, and more recent like six ear headbands and even the stupid face masks. I started lolita in 2010 so that sweet look never left me lol.

Western apfags prefer more OTT sweet prints so classic/classic-sweet ones like this fall under the radar, cotton or not. That said, it’s a gaudy print, the details on the bodice don’t blend well, and the skirt is unbalanced

It's weird that nothing is there because usually the lyrical bunny tag has some sort of button or round thing placed on top to secure it in 3D fabric applications. No gem in tag but it does have an obvious contrasting color
>>
How come there are so many males itt or where this ”women should smile more” energy comes from?
>>
>>10674757
It screams "I have too much money"
>>
>>10674757
Ok but this is hideous. Wtf AP.
>>
>>10674985
it sounds dumb and all but i think lolitas prefer to see people enjoying the clothes vs the standard aloof and bored or intense model looks we see in normie fashion, and we have that standard because of past advertising material we're used to. non-smiling expressions can be cute (look at risa in the op pic of the mid-autumn festival thread, she looks adorable despite not smiling) but if AP is gonna just do her on a white background the ads tend to feel flat when risa does the same expression or hardly poses.
>>
>>10675057
nta, but I think those are lolita at hearts. I don't really care that much, personally. I think Risa looks fine. She's just a model. You don't need a lifestyler wearing lolita to model. It just sounds like some jelly shit ngl.

>>10674985
Agreed. It sounds very scrote-like "she should smile more."
>>
>>10675071
>it sounds scrote like for lolitas to want to see a model who enjoys the clothes they’re modeling

Retard.
>>
>>10675076
Lolitas at heart. Do you need glasses? Or are you really trying to say you're a lolita at heart?
>>
>>10675071
Before Risa AP’s photo shoots were very upbeat and creative. Sometimes even silly but in a charming way. The models looked like they were having fun. Overall it made for a lot more dynamic pictures that were far more compelling to look at than watching Risa make the same disgruntled face and boring poses.
>>
>>10675083
That’s also a retard take. I’ve been a lolita since 2006. I would bet it’s the lolitas who were around to see APs old photo shoots like me that are complaining about Risa being boring.
>>
>>10675087
Man I miss these so much. They honestly spark joy and get you more hyped for the pieces than what Risa's face of misery has been doing.
>>
>>10675088
This. I would bet anything that the people defending Risa have only been in the fashion for five years or less.
>>
>>10675089
>>10675088
This, it's mostly about the energy of the images and how it makes you feel at first glance. If you came around more recently you might be used to the change but people are always nostalgic for shit, it's like 90s kids nostalgia but for lolita oldfags. People just like what they remember or feels familiar.
>>
>>10674757

>>
>>10674989
Too much money and not enough taste
>>
>>10674989

>>
>>10674989
>not knowing about AP's expensive OTT dresses
Get out newfag. I bet you cry about Baby's OTT and wedding style dresses because they're too expensive for you wuhhhh.
>>
>>10675337
Nayrt but anyone who pays any amount of money, no matter how small, to wear a hideous dress like that is being scammed
>>
>>10675087
AP ads used to be so whimsical. Now they feel so uninspired
>>
>>10675372
i mean that goes for the dresses too, so it's not surprising
>>
>>10675087
Models smiling and interacting eachother make the fashion actually look enjoyable to wear, like real clothes. Models dont just wear the outfit they’re selling, they’re selling the image of the brand.

I’d rather aspire to be two cute girls smiling energetically than Risa, all alone and looking sad.
>>
>>10675395
god i wish this time period would come back.
>>
>>10675395
Not only that, but sometimes the cute backgrounds they have. Now we get Risa pouting in dilapidated abandoned houses with tacky old looking wallpaper….
>>
>>10675395
Remember when Maki and Asuka also modelled for the Kera spreads? I loved the idea of the designers wearing their own designs.

Anyone else reporting wrong sizing w sugary carnival? I'm worried now... a 7cm difference is huge.
>>
>>10675546
If you weren’t fat you wouldn’t have to worry
>>
>>10675400
I just want the aesthetic to come back, none of the other bullshit from this time period.
>>
>>10675546
Realistically this makes me happy to see that there is going to be a ton of sugary carnival mtos to hit the market. You shouldn't be expecting large sizing for surgary carnival, because it was on the smaller end to begin with.
>>
>>10675565
I think it's reasonable for people to expect it to fit the size advertised. It'd be one thing if they complained about the brand needing to cater to fats but the brand said it'd be X size, so it's kind of a lie to then have it be Y size. They say to leave room for error but 7cm is a big error.
>>
>>10675547
i'm a US size 6, boobs aren't even big. i have wide shoulders and a wider ribcage than average... f off
>>10675565
this just in: it's now considered unreasonable to expect the sizing to be what is advertised!
>>10675567
yeah this, i'm definitely never advocating for lolita brands to cater to fatties (which is why i don't participate in facebook groups, that's all anybody wants to talk about on there regarding ap)
>>
>>10675546
It isnt a 7 cm difference, it is just that a fatty is angry it doesnt fit her. Its like 100 cm and you have to obviously be under that.
>>
>>10675575
it's at least 7cm difference, anon. are you retarded?
>>
>>10675573
>i'm a US size 6, boobs aren't even big. i have wide shoulders and a wider ribcage than average... f off

US size six is pretty damn big…
>>
>>10675573
I was a US 6 at my fattest, and I never had any issues fitting into shirred AP. You'll be fine anon
>>
>>10675577
70cm waist isn't tiny but it's not huge. Even a UK 6 is 80cm bust
>>
>>10675576
It isnt. I saw people measure theirs and it was not 7 cm difference. Again, you have to be under 100 cm to wear it, but there is more to fit than just raw measurements of the bust.
>>
>>10675581
>70cm waist isn't tiny but it's not huge

Yes it is. You’re delusional.

Ignoring the voting thing cause no one cares what scrotes want, even US size 6 is far from huge for an adult female. Height plays a role too of course.
>>
>>10675588
You say ignore the voting and yet you used this scrote image. Fuck off.
>>
>>10675589
It's literally from a normie women's magazine. The voting was related to the article which had to to with who was sexiest (there may have been women voting too idk just assumed they asked dudes), so it isn't directly relevant to who is fat or skinny, but that doesn't change these womens' body size or shape.
>>

Serious question, but what is the point of buying an MTO dress just to throw it up on LM immediately?

Sure it's like $100 more but you already paid the SS and shipping, it can't be that profitable? It's just so obnoxious seeing LM be flooded with the new MTO that is finally sent out (looking at all the freshly picked strawberries and sugary carnival rn).
>>
>>10675641
Only scalpers and people who couldn't afford, fit, or REALLY didn't like the dress typically do it.
>>
>>10675641

>mfw I gotta get parts of my ribcage remove to attain a waist below 70cm
>>
>>10675699
Go for it.
>>
>>10675584
As someone who owns the MTO, 95cm sounds about right in my opinion. Any bigger and you'd have a lot of trouble zipping it up, if you can at all.

Really odd that AP still claims the max stretch is 102 when there's no way it can stretch that far, even if you count margin of error. I get not having to accomodate to fatties but I can't really blame anyone for being upset that they're too big for a dress that should've fit them according to the listed measurements.
>>
>>10675703
This. Meta made plus size dresses and got the elastic a bit too tight making the sizing feel off, and offered free alterations to fix it. I can fit it without those and got the bigger size for length, so I didn't need it, but the fact they offered because it was their own fuck up is really nice and appreciated. Not saying AP needs to do the same but acknowledging the difference or trying trying have some level of accuracy on measurements would be good. I guess in AP's defense they aren't catering to plus sizes as directly as Meta so sizing being a little off doesn't matter as much to them or won't affect their reputation in their usual market
>>
>>10675703
Tbh if it was me and I got a dress that was too small despite being well within measurements I'd end up thinking I'd gained weight somehow and go check the scale and my measurements with multiple measuring tapes to make sure as well as check the dress or on my dress form with the supposed measurements. I'd be blaming myself the whole time unless someone else told me they had the same problem.
>>
>>10675699
If you work out your chest, back, shoulder blades you'll likely lose some of that fat around your rib cage fyi
>>
>>10675710
They might have little body fat and a naturally larger waist. I'm underweight and while my other measurements fit a US XS, my waist is still 66-68cm
>>
>>10675693
Seconding this.

If a few anons can post flat measurements of the OP, we'd have solid proof of whether or not it's the original sizing or the MTO's claimed sizing.

I was nervous about getting the OP because the new sizing was almost too large for me, so it'd be kind of great if they actually made it smaller.
>>
>>10675699
>>10675712
Lipo is the answer. People have this misconception that it's for landwhales but that's actually false. It's entirely about distribution of fat, not weight loss. Any weight you "lose" in the operation will be regained extremely quickly if your eating habits remain unchanged.

Source: I got lipo. I had stubbon, weirdly distributed fat around my abdomen which I hated. I was already clinically underweight, so losing more weight was obviously not the answer. Since getting lipo, I don't think twice about showing off my stomach.
>>
>>10675707
I wish I could switch to being a Meta fag so bad but I just can't fall in love with their designs as I do AP. I've been holding my breath for a really great plus size release for a while...

>>

>>
>>10675585
I love the vacuum that anachans on 4chan live where they think sub 26 inch waists are normal on every single woman.
>>
>>10676241
For the measurements of AP and how short it is, that is the ideal waist at max.

You shouldn't be whining about how you're tall and your waist is larger. Maybe AP is not for you, but a longer length lolita brand?
>>
>>10676242
I’m a womanlet who is fat by cgl standards and I fit fine into AP and it’s my entire wardrobe.
>>
>>10676241
I'm almost certain that must be some retarded Americafag confusing cm and inches. There are not that many anachans in every comm I've seen, so I have a hard time believing that 4chan is suddenly swarming with them.
>>
>>10676260
nta and idk who liv is but how could you possibly try to narrow down a generic post like that when many girls into lolita are womanlets since it's a fashion that suits petite/shorter women well, and 99% of non asian girls are fat by cgl standards
>>
oh boy, I sure hope AP's release for this week is a forgettable medley of dresses and one accessory thrown in to make everything redeemable
>>
>>10676264
This is a retarded guess since everyone in this fashion uses cm to measure themselves for pieces
>>
>>10675581
You’re all embarrassing. Speaking from experience, standard sample sizes for literal professional models in the UK are size 6 or 8. A size 8 has about a 70cm waist.
>>
>>10676296
You're really expecting too much of burgers. Even when LM changed the plus size friendly tag to try to improve it, they had it in inches instead of cm, and many people are always posting on fb groups asking for dresses that fit their measurements and listing in inches.
>>
>>10676296
>implying that everyone responding in these threads on 4chan actually wears the fashion
good one, anon
>>
>>10676298
I said UK 6 was 80cm bust, not waist. Cause some people think busts in the 80-90cm range is too big too. 70cm waist is for US 6. Sorry if that was confusing switching between the two.
>>
>>10676299
>using LM

Well since you’re new it makes sense you didn’t know. But 99% of people use cm in this fashion.
>>
>>10676303
Oh I'm definitely in the group that uses cm, I was just giving examples of how despite cm being the best thing to use since that's what brands use, that even still burgers will use inches and probably get them confused. You don't have to buy from LM regularly to be aware that when they made the change people were immediately confused by why it was inches and not cm. But using LM is fine in general, the selection is just rough a lot of the time and prices are often mediocre at best.
>>
>>10676305
>But using LM is fine in general,

Lol no. It’s basically only newfags and scalpers now.
>>
>>10676177
This is cute, you sound excited. Happy for you anon!
>>
>>10676307
There are decent prices occasionally but they go in actual seconds at times so not worth stalking the site for that but nice if you get lucky checking one day. I usually buy direct from brands though because there's rarely older items I want that I don't already own at this point so I'm more focused on new things.
>>
>>10676310

>>
