Earlier today I sent a mail order for a sold out dress on Baby's jp online shop. But then I found the dress later on Xianyu and now I want to cancel my special order inquiry. I haven't even been confirmed by Baby whether they have the dress or not but if they email me back saying they do, will Baby cut off my head if I say I want to cancel it?
>>
Does anyone know of any good classic YouTubers? For some reason they all seem to be sweet. I only really know of Sapphira and Embroidered Doll.

Yes and they should. It’s rude to cancel after they go to the trouble of finding it especially for you.

Especially any older words for it from the Showa or early Heisei. I saw a character in an old manga wearing one and I want to find vintage Japanese ones similar to it.

I know that people hate white with ivory, but is ivory with beige generally ok in classic?

>>
I have BTSSB bag being shipped from the UK to US. Package was shipped out on Monday, how long do you think it’ll take to arrive?
>>
>>10637449
The important thing is relative contrast. A cord that is just ivory and white can look cute because the main contrast is between the ivory and white (picrel), but a cord that is ivory, white and red will look weird because the main contrast is between the red and white/ivory and the white/ivory just looks mismatched because it’s overshadowed by the red.

A warm ivory could possibly go with beige but a yellow/cool ivory probably wont.

I guess you could really make them out of anything. I have seen them in vinyl, latex, lycra, satin. My favorite are the ones made of satin or silk, something that looks like a higher class bombshell look rather than a cheapo thing. I like the structure that shapes rather than a stretchy thing that conforms to the body.

Plus, it usually looks a bit more high quality if you do it right.

ONS volume 3 has an OP with a 3-tiered skirt and a button-down front (pic related). You would have to edit the bodice to make it a JSK and add the gathered bust, but you can find tutorials by searching "milkmaid top pattern."
Alternatively, Gosu Rori volume 3 has a couple OP patterns with a similar bodice.

How do you tie your bows? My waist ties are removable, should I take them off to make a perfect bow before putting them back on? You can absolutely do that, but if you're going to meets, at nearly every meetup with my comm there is a someone with a janky bow and like three other lolitas tripping over each other offering to help tie it properly. So if you can't tie it yourself, it's not all hopeless.

I'm classic, so this may not be for other substyles. But I find Bernadette Banner's YouTube tutorial for an Edwardian inspired hairstyle to be extremely useful when I can't be assed to curl my hair. You simply twist your hair on both sides, then braid the rest of your hair and roll it into a bun, or figure 8, or whatever you want in the back of your head. If I want to be fancy I pull some hair out below my ears and curl them.
>>
is it ita to not wear earrings with my coords? i figure most lolitas don't give a shit about that sort of thing. i just can't wear earrings for medical reasons and don't feel like getting surgery on my earlobes just to avoid a faux pas lmao
>>
>>10638589
Earrings aren't even part of a coord. They're just optional accessories. I've never heard of anyone caring about them in particular.
>>
How do I actually convince my boyfriend to let me put him in lolita?
>>
>>10638594
That's weird. Don't make him do shit he doesn't want to do.
>>
>>10638589
Nobody cares about lack of earrings. Half of millennial have fucked up ears from stretching them when we were 16. Some people don't even have pierced ears. If anything it's just a nice bonus when someone has cute earrings.
>>
>>10638589
Japan literally has so many options for pierce less earrings. Remember most of their teenage population has school rules about no piercings. Even older women don't have piercings and shops have tons of varieties and types, more so than pierced options.
>>
>>10638707
This but if they can't get piercings due to medical reasons they likely have growths or some type of earlobe that clip ons would be uncomfortable too. If you have a hime cut with thicker side pieces or wear your hair all or partially down your ears are less visible or noticable anyway. No one is going to complain and if they do they're probably the type of person to demand people wear contacts instead of matching glasses with lolita or get out of their wheelchair or hide their cane for photos. Tbh not wearing earrings is even less noticable than those other thingsm
>>
>>10638710
>clip ons would be uncomfortable too
That's what I'm saying though. There are more options as in NOT clip ons.
>>
I've been out of the lolita game for a bit and I just saw the Elizabeth all back reservation... Does that stuff usually go to shop when its released too? Or am I just doomed?
>>
>>10638713
The other option is to just not wear earrings though. Which is a valid option. Other than ear cuffs, I can't think of options that don't squeeze your earlobe to a degree in order to secure the earring besides pierced earrings. It's far easier to just choose other jewelry. Earrings are rarely noticed anyway unless your hair is really short in that area like a pixie cut or up all the time.
>>
>>10638722
Yes, it's not ita or a faux pas, but there's literally so many options. It looks better with them.
Just because you can't think of examples doesn't mean the options aren't there. I'm guessing you have pierced ears or haven't ever shopped for earrings in Japan.
There's non-hole pierce, ear hooks, ear cuffs, not too mention the multiple options of clip ons (with screw back being the most comfortable lever back earrings I've ever worn).
>>
>>10638714
It was an MTO, orders closed weeks ago. Just wait for it secondhand, there's definitely gonna be people selling it off because it won't fit
>>
>>10638763
I have pierced ears AND have shopped for earrings in Japan multiple times. The screw back still "squish" your ear as all clip ons/non pierce earrings like that do which if they have some issue with their earlobe that surgery is needed for can't be comfortable. I mentioned cuffs as well; but those go on a different part of your ear than regular eareings anyway and are a different look. All clip ons like screw backs and clamp types rely on the friction of two things pressing on either side of the earlobe and while that's fine for normal people with unpierced ears, anon specifically mentioned they have a special circumstance. I also find all types of clip ons I tried in Japan far less comfortable than pierced earrings except cuffs. Sometimes the clip on types have cuter options so I have bought and worn them too. I can't name each type specifically but the issue of your earlobe being squeezed to a degree is probably a factor and unless anon shows us their specific ears or gives more detail, there's no guarantee they'd be able to wear them. Also unless you mean a specific type I'm not aware of the name of, earring hooks are for pierced ears too. Or do you mean a type that hooks not through a hole but over or around different part of the ear? Basically a cuff but more loose?
So I'd just reccomend not wearing them if the comfort is an issue.

>>
>>10638242
>I like the structure that shapes rather than a stretchy thing that conforms to the body.
I agree. The strechy lycra ones end up needing straps to stay up and just look like a one-piece swimsuit rather than the classic bunny suit look anyway, so satin/silk all the way.
>>
>>10638368
I think it's a case by case basis honestly. If you're second guessing it, then choose a different one.
>>
>>10638589
I mean, hime bangs are so popular in lolita that you don't see peoples ears for the most part. So I'd argue that earrings are rare in lolita, there's just no point in wearing them if you're not going to see them

>>10638767
No, they don't. You're wearing it wrong if they do. It doesn't need to be that tight unless your earrings are really heavy. But at that point I'd switch it to a cuff or hook to carry the weight.

I don't have pierced ears at all so I really don't see why you're arguing this if you have to wear it so tight. Picrel for ear hooks. They can be worn in multiple positions on the ear and this isn't the only type.
>>
>>10638818
whatever one you like the best
>>
>>10638903
If someone has earlobes with enough issues to require surgery to fix/get piercings, even the amount of pressure you need to hold on a clip on might cause them pain.

I'm not saying those things aren't an option, I literally said they would need to be more specific to know what is right for them, and earrings aren't required in lolita plus brand/specific motifs in earrings may not be available in other non pierced styles, the hook and cuff combo example in your picrel could work for them, but if we don't know the location and type of the problem with their ears the easiest solution is to just...not spend money on earrings because they aren't a requirement in the fashion.
>>
>>10638968
How is "just don't" helpful? We already agreed it's not required. But as I already mentioned, options are available. They haven't even spoken up to say anything, so you're just making assumptions that nothing will work.

Also who cares what's available. It's literally a jump ring that you switch to whatever is comfortable.
>>
Is EMS or DHL faster now for shipping from Japan to the US? Both are about the same price for my items.
>>
Is there a way to see the bidding history of an active LM listing?
>>
>>10638975
I didn't make assumptions, all I said was we don't know for sure since anon only really mentioned they would need surgery to get their ears pierced or whatever, and we would need to know more if we wanted to make specific recommendations beyond assuring them they're not ita for skipping the earrings and don't need to force themselves.

You're the one assuming they CAN wear all these other types without any information. If it was really about just hooking the jump ring on another attachment method and what's available doesn't matter, then just tell them to do that with brand earrings and buy their own attachment method, not look for other Japanese nonpierced earrings. The issue remains that we don't know what their ears are like. Have a good day though cause I'm not trying to argue just wanted help anon.

Hm, I'm not sure what that means, but here's what my shipping record looked like if it's any help. What's the affordable, but decent-looking fabric option for making the "skin" of an human character plush? A friend of mine is commissioning me to make her the plushes from Maid-Sama and I've never made a plush of a human character before, so I'm not sure what to use. I made a mockup using fleece because it's what I had on hand, but it seems like it would be better suited for the hair. Also, it's fine to use the same fabric for the skin, clothes, and hair if you want. It doesn't look weird, and that's how most Japanese plush are made.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think she was the one that led the crusade against Lor over the accidental like? She's super performative woke. Also, she owned Die Walkure as a dream dress of hers, which is the Nazi-inspired Meta dress, which most people rightfully pointed out makes her pretty fake. I think she has since denounced it and sold it, but yeah lol

In my opinion, sack dresses do only look good on skinny girls with good torso-leg proportions. If you're round or stumpy, a sack dress will make you look rounder and stumpier. Does anyone have any experience using Buyee’s “Buyee Air Delivery” shipping? Is there a reason to avoid it?

I need to ship a package of items that literally should be no heavier than 8lbs and I have to choose between $175(???) EMS shipping, slow sea mail or “”””””Buyee Air Delivery”””” which is only about $50

I don’t expect shipping from Japan to be cheap but I’ve never been quoted $175 for such a small package hhh

Asking here because if a board would know how to sew, I'd imagine it'd be the cosplay board.
I'd like to learn to sew, and I'd be doing this by hand. Aside from needles, what should I really be looking for in a sewing kit? Alternatively, are sewing kits largely a sham and I need nothing/little more than just needles, thread, and safety pins?
>>
>>10640704
Thanks anon, that makes me feel better about a listing I was outbid on. I wish it weren’t so impossible to find a good replacement though.
>>
>>10640707
I only make hand sewn alterations, but I highly recommend some high quality basics:
1. Sewing scissors that you only use for fabric and thread cutting.
2. Strong thick cotton thread and pure silk thread if you have silk items to sew. Usually you match the thread type to the fabric you are sewing - the mini sewing kit threads are garbage quality imo.
3. A multi-pack of needles will do.
4. Pack of pins and a pincushion (I have a cute strawberry one)
5. A loose measuring tape

(Feel free to add on other anons if I’m missing anything, but I get by just fine with this setup)

Hmm thanks for the intel anon. I already ended up biting the bullet and going with it after seeing that other folks’ packages weren’t moving fast with EMS either. I’d just like it in less than a month desu.

This is a big incentive to stay away from Buyee though. Apparently “Buyee Air Delivery” is Buyee choosing between FedEx & DHL instead of just allowing the customer to choose.

Id been using White Rabbit Express for a while because their customer service is great but their fees are pretty high and they’re slow to make purchases. I might try FromJapan or something idk.
>>
>>10640538
I'm this >>10639545 anon, and oddly enough I originally purchased Buyee Air Delivery too because it was cheaper, but when I got the shipping confirmation it showed as "EMS". I didn't complain because from what I know it's (possibly) better and I just wanted my package at the end of the day. I was worried they would update the pending charge, but they never did. From what I hear, all shipments are pretty slow right now so if you have the chance, it might be better to let it sit in the warehouse and check back in a week to see if the estimates are any better.
>>
>>10640707
> Alternatively, are sewing kits largely a sham
No, they're actually perfect for beginner's because you save money on buying all the little knick-knacks which you can upgrade later on. That being said, they're not going to be the best quality for that price obviously. Use it as a stepping stone for getting into the hobby and making the investment of real tools worth it. To build on what the other anon said, I'd say buy the sewing kit, a pair of good scissors, and a spool of good black/white thread (unless the kit comes with a good brand like Coats & Clark, Gutterman, etc) -- everything else in the kit will work just fine.
>>

Depending on the design, maybe delicate long lace gloves could work for some coords? Something that has a pattern that distracts from scars but is "open" enough that it stays breathable. That being said I don't know how easily you can get something like this in a good material and I can't say how effective it'll be in a place like Florida, but it's an idea.
>>
>>10640711
Second this all this, but I'm gonna add on items that are sort of optioaln but I use very frequently:

>seam gauge
You can get by with a measuring tape or a small ruler, but being able to set a specific measurement on the seam gauge and then just check multiple spots really quickly is so convenient for me.
>something to mark fabric
Chalk, fabric pencil, fabric marker, transfer paper and rolling wheel, those Frixion pens - your choice but I find it important to be able to reliably mark fabric when sewing.

Especially seconding the thread. Sewing kits have shitty quality thread, it falls apart and if you put it in a sewing machine, it'll shred and leave lint behind which can fuck with your tension and how well your machine sewing in general. Get good thread.

Peacockalorum is super nice, but all things considered I feel like not worth the time and price for something I could (painstakingly) sew myself. As for the knees they don't look bad, but I am attempting to look more elegant than cute, and knees showing seems improper.
>>
>>10640904
Wunderwelt also has a petti that seems to be getting good reviews. The Black Ribbon has a chiffon netting petti that is the closest to the old famous victoriangirldress petti (although not as cheap), Both of those are a-line.
>>
>>10641150

also re LS, her basics are pretty alright, it's the dresses that are garbage. she's starting to come out with some cotton blouses and lace topped socks that look nice.

I've seen a lot of different methods for tying waist ties, I personally do my ties from the front in front of my mirror and then reattach them on the back. >>
>>10641460
Ntayrt but maybe they want to add longer length or change the sleeves

>>10641465
Wouldn’t you just cut them into otk length, sew/burn the top closed and add some lace and elastic at the top?
It’d still destroy them if you wanted to resell. but it would look fine if you had good lace
>>
>>10641468
Sewing seems a bit iffy because I'd need the right machine stitch to allow the thread to accommodate the stretch of the tights, right?
I thought about sealing the ends with a lighter, but I'm honestly scared. I have a pair of AP tights I don't mind ruining for test purposes, but it would still suck to do it massively wrong.
Also I rarely sell, so that's not really a problem.
>>
>>10641469
Hmm how about get a bunch of cheap tights and practice on those first?
They also have a special tights glue to fix runs and it also works to seal edges, if you don’t want to use a lighter. You could also use superglue. And then sew lace on top but add a ribbon onto the lace to be able to tie it tight to your thighs. may be a bit janky but would work to keep them up

How can I safely "straighten" out the top part of this double-stranded AP necklace?
The part with the small beads has a plastic thread that's out of shape after being stored for years by the seller. Is it okay to use a steamer to mold the plastic thread so it lays correctly again? I don't want to melt anything.
>>

You could try hot water. I've done it with waxed nylon thread before to straighten it, but I'm not positive it'll work for the plastic transparent thread. You can gently step up the heat though with less risk of melting from steam.

Any tips on relieving pressure on the waist when wearing lolita?

A bit of background, I just got a skirt and it's the first one in my wardrobe. I never experienced discomfort wearing lolita - but having the waistbands from the petticoat, the tights, the bloomers, and the skirt, was a bit too much! Would appreciate any tips or tricks, thank you in advance :)
>>
ok, this is absolute beginner, i'm looking to buy my first blouse (brand, secondhand, probably mercari/ fril), how do you know if japanese 'free size' will fit? is there somewhere i could find measurements of what 'free size' is in blouses maybe?
>>
>>10641654
Free size is the average japanese woman size. No global sort of measurements. If you are a us size 0-2 you won’t have any trouble. If you are bigger than that or have large breasts, i would say to stick to t shirts
>>
>>10641633
a corset would bulk you up a little bit but then all this waist bands will sit on top of it and you won't feel them.
>>
>>10641654
If it’s from a lolita brand you can look up the measurements at lolibrary
>>
>>10641633
roll the waistband of your petti so it sits slightly lower than your waist/at your hips. This depends on the aesthetic you're going for (for example, not possible with peeking bloomers) but you can replace bloomers with gym shorts in or something similarly comfortable. They're not supposed to be seen, anyway. And "smaller" cut bloomers that are supposed to be worn on the hip exist too. Swap tights for OTKs/ankle socks when possible. Any combination of these will help provide a tiny bit of relief.

I've also heard of some people wearing a corset underneath their clothing and placing the waistbands of the petti and skirt on top. The stiffness of the corset means the elastic waistband won't feel like it's squeezing you. Ymmv on that one.

>>10641567
Opinions are split and range anywhere from "it doesn't matter" through "it looks OK with some coords, like with gothic" to "it's always ita." Use your best judgement. Is your huge septum ring going to clash with your OTT sweet coord? idk maybe. Is someone even going to notice a tiny stone on the side of your nose? idk probably not.
>>
>>10641675

>>10641672
thank you! i don't know why i didn't think of that before.
>>
>>10640117
I usually wear a really casual small petti or a low poof a-line for sack dresses
>>
>>10640120
I don't think you have to be a twig to look good in them. If they are too short on you, or you have a really big bust I've noticed they look kinda awkward. I like them because you can wear them multiple ways with layering cardigans, corset belts, aprons, and sheer over dresses etc. that change the shape a little bit.
>>
Are replicas still thrown upon if
you're not wearing them to events/meet other lolitas? I took some pictures and want to post them to social media without a coord rundown. I think it's unnoticeable. It's a solid replica.
>>
>>10641962
If anything I think they're MORE frowned upon now than they used to be. Back in the day you could hide behind 'I didn't knooooow it was a replica?!' and it was harder to get brand items. Now there's literally no excuse for wearing a replica when brand is so cheap and ubiquitous.

Don't think it's that stupid of a question. It's overpriced and shipping can be slow depending on availability of products. If you know how to buy from taobao either directly or with SS, I would recommend that over DI.

On the other hand, yes, they're legit. Never had a problem with them. Sometimes I buy from them when they have free shipping events because shipping to my country from China can be like 70 bucks.
>>
>>10642101
They are just a taobao reseller with issues. so if you like to pay overpriced and wait 8 months for ita things without any updates…then go do devil inspired

Ita as in just lolita or do you think they have some ugly stuff?

>>10642104
I see I see. Really should learn how to use taobao.
>>
>>10642108
They do carry some ugly and/or costumey stuff, but that's just cause they're a reseller and there is a huge quality range on taobao, so you gotta pick and choose and try to go for better brands. Typically the rule of thumb I try to follow is, if it looks costumey on the model, it'll look even worse on me, and then if the price sounds too good to be true then it probably is.
>>
I've never cosplayed before in my life, but my girlfriend and I are going to a convention in a month. Are prices for shipping always fucked? Am I not looking in the right place? A $4 product on Amazon instantly goes up to $32 for quick shipping. It's insane to me.

Thanks for the suggestion! I've been looking into buying a corset, so will do that :)

Also, what would be the rule of thumb for buying corsets? I found a store that ships locally for "every day wear" corsets, but the shop also seem to carry some costumey ones. Would that be a bad sign of getting quality corsets?
>>
Is there a term for an older woman that still carries the lolita aesthetic? Like, not delusionally still trying to be young again, but just carrying the aesthetic into their old age. Toned down or not. Cuz lolita has loli in to state it's youthful. Is there a similar term for older women?
And is that even a common style for older older women?
Not asking as one, but just because the thought came to mind. Not sure if I explained it well enough though.

hard to tell without knowing anything about their sizing or construction. mystic city corsets are alright from what I understand. waist training groups on Facebook would probably be able to give more suggestions.

"loli" is just part of the word "lolita", it's not meant to indicate youthfulness. lolita is the word for anyone who wears lolita, of any age. no special term for older women. it is not as popular for older women but it's not insanely uncommon.
>>
>>10642142
I see, thank you for humoring my dumb little question. It's much appreciated!
>>
>>10642140
Lolita is a nickname from the Spanish name Dolores; it doesn't come from lolicon. And there's lolitas in their 40s, 50s, 60s, etc. still wearing every style, yes.
>>
>>10642147
Thank you!
I think my question wasn't really a "older women can't wear lolita" but more a "what similar fashion trend (not necessarily by looks) is there that's mostly seen for older women"
But I don't really know how to word it? I don't think it makes sense... Because of course there are plenty of fashion trends to choose from... Yeah... No idea how to word it. But hey, still appreciated to have a reply. It's actually reassuring to hear. I'm not that age yet, but I'll be damned if I cant enjoy wearing lolita when I'm older
>>
>>10642149
Misako is almost 40 and is still a lolita fashion icon Just wear whatever you want as long as it brings you joy. We all grow old. We all die too. Wouldn't you rather spend the most time wearing clothes that made you happy?
>>
>>10642150
True facts. Honestly, I gotta lose some weight before I can really enjoy wearing the clothes I want to... But as soon as I can, trust me, nothing will be stopping me. Thank you, this was actually pretty uplifting.
>>
>>10642108
Honestly i think all of taobao is ita looking as hell unless you’re only looking for socks or teaparty shoes. Like… I have never seen anything taobao and thought “yes that looks nice i want it”
>>

>Are prices for shipping always fucked?
depends on where you buy from. If its overseas, then yes but especially right now because of covid.
>>
>>10640900
Oh interesting… thanks for the info anon. I actually am now in the same boat, where I chose Buyee air delivery and am now getting the same EMS shipping that was supposed to cost $100 more.
>>
>>10641567
nah not inherently but if you’re doing any kind of sweet or classic style it is easy for any very large piercing to clash with the rest of your coord’s vibe. ultimately depends on what you have though. I feel like you can say the same of large tattoos.
>>
How long does it take to get verified on lacemarket these days? I emailed them my ID weeks ago and haven’t heard back.
>>
>>10642356
Try messaging them on Facebook.

I have a blouse that's tight around the shoulders and back. How would I go about altering it? Would it cost a lot?
>>
>>10641567
I remember shopping in Angelic Pretty Shinjuku store and the shop girl there had a huge labret (lower lip) piercing. She was super cute and complimented me on my piercings! I think it is down to personal taste.
>>
>>10642384
Just sell it and get a bigger size of the blouse and get the waist taken in.
If you are asking how to alter it you wouldn’t be able to do it yourself.
>>
>>10642140
I like the term EGL more because it’s easier to interpret it across many fashion types instead of solely lolita and its quintessential features (knee length poofy skirt, bows, etc). So I’m a bit older and I will mix certain features up per outfit using classic lolita inspiration for jewelry, makeup, hair, and piece combination. I’m overall trying to be more elegant classic, and if I do go sweet it’s for spring/summer formal OTT coords. Uhh…short answer it’s hard to differentiate between lolita and an “older form” but I think it is possible to adapt for individual needs.
>>
Does anyone know if the girl with very light blonde hair in the AP Paris tiktoks has any other social media? Her coords are adorable

Any recommendations for good lemon accessories off of taobao? Bonus if the lemon slices are heart shaped.
I'm mostly looking for a necklace and a ring
>>
Where have you guys found lolita-appropriate handheld fans?
>>
>>10642465
Dropped pic. Meant something like this but less cheap looking
>>
>>10642467
There are for sure a lot of nice options on Etsy.
>>
>>10642429
EGL is a very strict and well defined fashion and does not "interperet across many fashion types". Yes there are different sub-styles with different themes but they all follow the same fashion rules "ie: modesty, silhouette, volume, victorian/rococo inspiration etc..."
Just wear the clothes you want to wear nobody actually gives a shit if you are a teen or a middle aged woman.
>>
>>10642473
Nta but you're the worst kind of person.
Etsy is a platform known for conmen claiming aliexpress stuff was handmade.
Not only that but the profit margins are thin for creators that are legit so prices have to be inflated.
Why would you comment something so substanceless?
That's like a newbie asking on a vegan forum for an egg substitute and you telling them to try going to the grocery store.
You aren't helping.

If you want them to go to creators that painstakingly hotglue feathers go ahead and link actual stores that you know and can vouch for.

If you don't know artisans then don't tell people to check Etsy because its usually mixed with cheap lowgrade garbage marked at a premium in hopes someone will buy into it not knowing the market.

Fuck off with the generic "Try Etsy" shit. You've contributed nothing but here is your (you)

to anyone who's ordered from WW in the last couple months - about how long has it taken for you to get your shipping quote? i know they said they were backlogged with EMS, but it's been two weeks and i've gotten radio silence... makes me a little nervous so i just wanted to know if anyone has an estimate for how long i should expect to wait desu
>>
>>10642556
Last I knew, WW is ONLY shipping certain orders right now. A few weeks ago they said they were only shipping EMS orders up to August 2020. If you just ordered, and specifically selected EMS, you'll be waiting until all the orders from the past year of backlog have been shipped.

On the other hand, if you choose e-packet, they won't automatically ship to you/send an invoice, since that has not resumed. You have to email them and request Yamato. Not sure how long that shipping invoice currently takes, because they stated it will also take longer due to EMS orders being shipped. But I don't think you'd have to wait in line behind all the EMS orders.

I have a sweat stain on a 100% cotton blouse I need to get out but the washing instructions don't say anything other than handwash and do not bleach. At what temperature should I wash it? Should I airdry it or put it in the dryer?
>>
>>10642607
As cold as possible, hand wash or delicates setting and always air dry 100% cotton or it will shrink. Try to wash it in a delicates mesh bag so it will be jostled around less
>>
>>10642610
Thank you!
>>
Would you recommend a new lolita starting with just OPs until they feel comfortable or jumping immediately into full on blouse/jsk/etc coords?
>>
>>10642621
Tbh if you really want to get into lolita, I would recommend just getting a blouse anyway because you may see a dress you really like but its only available as a jsk.
>>
>>10642607
you need to use warm water for sweat stains not cold.
>>
>>10642621
nah, get a blouse and jsk. both are more versatile in future coords, especially when youre just starting out and need as much versatility as you can get.
>>
>>10642625
Maybe spot treat with warm water but do not wash the entire blouse in warm water
>>
>>10642630
desu its just one small spot that is so faded now dry that im not even able to find it anymore, ig that's a good thing but i should still wash it

get ready for the most retarded question you've all heard for a while
how do you tie your jsk/dress bows from behind neatly or if you're too short to reach and don't want to ask someone for help?

well i mean do you not have literally anyone who could help you tie it? most people at meetups will happily fix it for you anyway if it looks messy

Hello again! I'm the anon who was making the Maid-Sama plushies on commission for my friend. I bought the fabric with all of your help (thank you for that!) and now I'm working on the clothing. The ML's clothing is pretty straight forward because it's just a collared shirt and pants, but the MC..... lord. I have no idea where to begin with this one. I'm trying to figure out what the pieces are and if I can possibly use a base pattern since I don't trust my meager skills in drafting them. There's some anime clothing logic going on here so, any guidance is appreciated! Just a reminder that I am making this for a plush and not a human body, so I can stand to chibify it a bit.
>>
>>10642561
arigatou - i'll email for yamato instead, hopefully i'll get my stuff soon
>>
Am i stupid or did LM do something because I can’t edit the description or title of my listing. I had already edited it once. But now the only thing i can see to do is the ‘promote’ button and the actions/edit button is gone
>>
>>10642745
Just checked and mine is doing this too.
>>
>>10642751
Damn! well i’ll wait until tmrw to see if it gets fixed. Otherwise i gotta tell my auction person that i can’t accept or add her a BiN. because i can’t even change the title of the auction to ‘don’t bid’. Literally the only thing i can do is comment on my listing ;_;
>>
I know the obi are different but are mens kimono and yukata cut any different from womens? Is the masculine color or pattern the only difference between mens and womens?
>>
>>10642760
Yeah you can't change a listing after people start bidding on it
>>
Where can I find a rectangle headdress attached to a headband? Solid black would be nice, but black and white or sax would also do. No gingham please.

How long does it take atm for Bodyline orders? I ordered a month ago and it says shipped but delivery date not specified and i also have no tracking

anyone know where to get a blouse similar to the summer's tale nostalgia collection one? with the 'segmented' arms? i know i could find a way to sew something like that myself but i'm a sewing noob so

someone on lacemarket is selling a dress for more than what she bought it for (found an old link to the same dress with her name as the buyer). She's currently selling it for $20 more, even with missing items and wear-tear.

Do I bring it up? Do I just casually mention "let me match it for the original price and then I'll buy"
>>
>>10643367
No harm asking her to lower the price. I do sometimes and it's always worked. As long as it's not more than a 20% reduction, it's not rude. I usually phrase it "I saw the JSK usually sells for about x, would you be willing to take y?" I wouldn't mention the past sale you saw her name on.
>>
>>10642879
I would say Meta but they're sold out, so that might be why you're asking in the first place...
>>
>>10643367
Contrary to what the other anon said, asking people to lower a BIN price is pretty bad taste. Don't get me wrong, I kind of hate it when I see someone buy something, then sell it a few months later for more, but they are most likely aware of what they are doing.
Telling them that you want it for the price they bought it for is just calling them out, and get most likely they will not take kindly to it. In the end, $20 isn't really something to haggle about. They might have paid that much for shipping and want it back.
>>
>>10642787
I believe so, I think the sleeves are slightly different. Now I forget if this is for kimono specifically or also applies to yukata, but women's sleeves are left open/unsewn near underarm, and men's are sewn all the way closed. Also, men's yukata and kimono are worn without ohashori, the little fold at the waist.

When you purchase a women's yukata, the correct length is about your height +/- 10 cm. You adjust the width of the ohashori to get the bottom hem at the correct height, so you have some leeway. But, also be aware that as of recently it's been fashionable to wear kimono with the hem higher up, and with wacky patterned socks or interesting shoes (like bright coloured pumps). Google kimono bijin for examples. So if you find a piece that measures just a tad short on you not all hope is lost. Most yukata listings will list the length of the yukata they're selling.

Men's yukata don't have the fold, so there's less leeway there, and you should make sure you're buying the correct length. If you're a woman, it's trendy to wear men's yukata (or just men's obi). It's called otoko-poi. Idk if this trend runs the other way, though. If you're a woman and you're interested in more masculine colours and patterns but you want to buy a women's yukata, they do exist! I've seen some recently on ebay in colours like grey and blue, with bamboo leaves. Way more subdued than a pink yukata with blue blossoms or the like (but they're all so nice looking, anyway).
>>
What's MARBLE's quality like? Their lace looks kind of scratchy on screen

where can i get red (preferably brand) UTKs or OTKs right now? black detailing is ok as long as there's no print on it ig.

>>
can anyone give brand recommendations for dresses that are affordable, well made and not ita? I was thinking something along the lines of And Romeo, any others?
>>
>>10643723
Buy secondhand stuff off general secondhand sites (lm, cc, ww, auctions etc). If you're really desperate to crank out a coord, get a main brand piece you really like and particular filler pieces from certain taobao shops (Surface Spell, Infanta) or Bodyline. I really don't like the look of And Romeo main pieces, and desu even Bodylinr filler pieces look better.
But seriously. Shell out for a second hand brand main piece.
>>
>>10643692
solid red socks are so hard to find.
>>
>>10643733
thanks for the suggestions, I wanted something decently priced that wasn't totally awful quality to see if gothic looks good on me before I go buying brand though I guess I could shell out for brand and if it doesn't look good on me just resell it

What are good simple old school style OTKs for tall/long legs? Do baby's OTKs work for longer legs?

i haven't bought any main pieces yet but am trying to build up a small base-wardrobe of good quality basics (blouses, accessories, etc), but don't know where to start with pettis? what's a good petti to buy that will work with a lot of pieces? (i've heard people say the wunderwelt ones are good but do these work with a lot of pieces?) or should i just go for a main piece and work backwards by buying a petti that will work with it?
ugh wtf is this captcha
>>
>>10644581
aurora & ariel pettis are cheap and good. they say they're a line but they're more like a hybrid shape, so they work for everything. I'd get an 8m for low poof and a 16m for regular poof. if you haven't already learn to order them through 42agent.

>>10643692
They're selling socks like that here, hopefully the off white lace on top is alright with you
