What are some Japanese accessory brands that are a bit more unique than Western ones? Is there a list somewhere?
I want to wear more jfasion but start small.. I can find cheap unique things on taobao but would prefer to support Japanese brands. Preferably one where I can buy multiple things instead of spending 100 euro on 1 necklace.

Anyone know of a good tailor for lolita in the Houston area, or just southeast Texas?

Not US based but dreamy_rinn on insta is a lolita who does alterations or commissions I think? It might be cosplay only for the commissions, I've just seen her mention both commissions and altering lolita stuff.

Where do people buy lace for homemade lolita? Even more specifically (and stupidly), what are some good sources for NON-vintage lace? I'm interested in lace that a sort of fresh/modern look to it, like AP's lace.

Are Meta's raschel lace utks okay for thick calves?
>>
>>10629202
It depends. They stretch amazingly, but utk dont really look that good on thick legs. It also depends on how thick you are talking, and how long, too. I suggest just getting OTK, they are more versatile anyway, and you can easily fold them down a bit and hide the fold in the thick lace.

the admin of a website can easily see whose ip is posting--they don't have to go through any great effort to do it or anything. so if the same person is being INCREDIBLY suspect and inflammatory and/or consistently breaking the rules, their posts might be marked by admin-sama.

in a way, it's a sign to everyone else not to act stupid or you'll be caught for vendetta/bad behavior.

I've seen some people say that terms EGL and EGA should be used only for moitie coords (or coords with moitie main piece).

>>
>>10629263
Corsets usually do look bad under lolita. They're too bulky even when they're cinching you. Use shapewear or spanx to smooth yourself out, or lose weight to reduce your size. Trying to use body-shaping clothes to fit into clothes you're too big for doesn't work.

You order it like normal and pay what's requested. When the second payment slot comes up you order that too and pay like normal. They will likely ask what your first order number was to match it all up and you tell them.

for spree now and 42 agent, you put in the order for the first payment, and they will adjust the price so you pay the entire price up front. that way they don't have to chase you down for the second payment.

nayrt but wondering what would measurements/measurement ranges would be considered very small, small, medium/average, large, and very large by Lolita/Asian standards?

Americans think I am microscopic but I'm not really clear about what I am from an Eastern point of view. Some products seem to imply I'm still tiny while other stuff seems to consider me a bit large.
>>
>>10629917
this is a really weird thing to be considered about, just check your measurements against what you want to wear? lolita brands don't generally have small/medium/large, some taobao brands do but they provide measurements.

like are you just looking for people to tell you you're smol or what

Where to get lolita crew socks with lots of stretch for giant calves? Would meta be good?
Normal socks always leave marks on my legs from being a little too tight.
I’m not fat. i can fit into old moitie fine but I have thick runner legs from exercise.
>>
>>10630030
As a fatty (not obese, just overweight and tall and muscular) who also runs and works out and has thick trunk legs, someone who supposedly isn't fat shouldn't really have this issue. Having said that, I do fit into meta socks with no issues so if you are honest then you should be good.
>>
>>10630031
Honestly idk like i constantly have this problem if you can see here. Like I don’t know if I’m doing it wrong.

I wear socks up all the way and they fall down and do this crap on my ankles. I do have small feet so maybe it’s the size small socks with the large legs

But I will try meta!
>>
>>10630041
If your socks fit but just fall down try sock glue.
>>
>>10628093
Has anyone got a really good sewing tutorial for a headbow they swear by?
>>
>>10630041
I think the indentation on your legs just happens. Moving around and stuff does make even normal peoples legs swell just a bit, which might leave marks in your body. Also, bras and things do similar to people, fat and skinny. it just happens.

You will have no problem with meta though, they are nice and stretchy and amazing.

Is it better to hang pettis/paniers or put them in a box with lots of room so they don't get squished? I bought a BTSSB and AP one recently and want to make sure I take care of them well.

>>

>>
>>10630199
i really want to believe they mean turning them inside out and hanging them by the waistband. the alternative would be too retarded, but they hang them in the first place, so who knows...

PSA for everyone else, NO do not hang your petticoats that are made of a soft material. i've seen it recommended more than once and it's outright wrong. store them in a drawer, or in a bag, or something to that effect. they will floof right back up after you take them out of the compressed space.

if it's the scratchier hard tulle material, then hang it. if it's soft, stuff it somewhere.

Probably a dumb question but how much space in cm should there be in unshirred blouses for a comfortable fit? I have an 84cm bust and am looking at one that measures at 86 and am concerned about it being too tight.
>>
>>10630299
IW recommends 4-5cm, but as someone with a US F cup size I need 8cm and wouldn't mind more.
>>
>>10630299
2-5 cm or slightly more underneath the measurement is generally the rule. also note that a lot of lolibrary/brand measurements are slightly smaller than reality for some reason. are you able to wear a sports bra just in case?

>>
>>10630709

coords are clothes, not a costume, the same as other clothes.
>>
>>10630709
They think about easy access when making the costumes (velcro straps, snaps, 2-piece costumes, etc) or go to the bathroom earlier than when they need to in order to have time to take it all off before desperation sets in.

And like the other anon said, coords are just dresses, stockings, panties, and bloomers so that's really no different than usual.

>>10631527

>>
>>10631577
you might get different answers, but i'm going to give that a no. i can always tell when people cheaped out on their socks and headdresses and it immediately knocks down their coord.

a good pair of brand otks might be like ~30 USD, and your average simple headdress ~30-40 USD. but depending on where you look, you can probably find some for even cheaper. just do that.
>>
If I see AP on taobao, is it a replica?
>>
>>10631600
whose calves are so flabby that your legs would do this with simple leather or ribbon straps?
>>
>>10631577
Generally no. Even though most Ali and taobao stuff looks good in the photos, irl there will be obvious quality differences. For example, I bought a big batch of taobao ankle socks and they were all crap. Cheap/no elastic so they constantly fall down, weird sizing, crap materials that snag constantly, lace and decorations attached with hot glue, etc. And these were mid-range taobao-lita brands, not cheap Aliexpress crap.

I wouldn't even waste my time with something bigger like a headpiece unless I was sure the quality would be okay beforehand.
>>
>>10631606
I see people's legs look that with those Moitie lace up socks all the time. I don't see why not, if they're doing up the straps so tight that they're able to stay up.

either that or a shopping service

the ribbons and straps on rhs are super flat and broad though; even when i was overweight my calves had enough tone that they didn't get squished easily by non elastic things? maybe i just have firmer calves/skin in that area than others.

>>
>>10631647
well, which method did you select at checkout? ems? it has been reopened recently, so you'll probably get that and the delays that come with it. when i want yamato, i type it in my order notes. but you could email support about it just like with any store. worst case scenario is they already shipped it by whatever method you selected.
>>
>>10631703
They said shipping would be a separate order. Then sent this giant message that described Yamato shipping and informing me to send a message if I wanted to go that route. Any possible way to repair threaded out, busted up lace like this? The kind used for corset lacing. Trying to repair my old Mode Girl jsk as much as possible. Posting here because I'm assuming the answer is "no" but maybe there's something I'm not aware of that can tighten it up.

that's an automated message from when ems was not available. you would select ems at checkout and they would manually calculate yamato price for you instead and send a separate invoice. now that ems is newly available, i don't know what they will do.

Okay... this is probably a stupid question. Do you think it's "okay" or "ethical" to continuously refer to Japanese brands as being sized specifically for Asians?

I was 'called out' for continuously referring to sizing as "Asian" or this clothing as meant for/being designed with Asian girls and therefore bodies primarily in mind.

Is it taboo to consider a Japanese fashion as sized primarily for Japanese women?

Or must I now refer to the sizing as "smaller in general" without mentioning the Asian part? Is it racist to say the sizing is "Asian", if I'm a white woman?

I'm not meaning to sound ironic or butthurt with this- I honestly wonder now, and I honestly want honest opinions, but I honestly don't know where else to ask something so specific
>>

>>
>>10631728
lmao, yeah it's totally fine. it's ridiculous that someone would even get butthurt over that.
>>
>>10631728
Maybe it would be better to say "Japanese" instead of "Asian", since "Asian" is such a broad category, but objectively there is nothing wrong with pointing out that Japanese brands cater their sizing to typical Japanese frames. To consider that "racist" is fucking asinine.
>>
>>10631728
but...it's just the truth? asian sizes are about 1 size smaller than standard US sizes, and that's across the board not just Japanese.

jfashion is designed for Japanese people first and foremost, not sure why that's controversial
>>
>>10631728
Its not racist its just the reality of the situation. The clothes are sized differently thats a fact.
>>
Is it looked down upon to offer way above going rate in a WTB for a rare piece that pretty much never goes on sale? I'm desperate to get my dream dress in time for my birthday, but it's hardly ever sold and when it is it's always a bloodbath auction, so I'd rather just post a WTB offering way higher than what it goes for and hope someone is willing to part with it for that price.
>>
>>10631728
I'm ethnically East Asian and I can tell you from experience with both cultures that the only people who will react negatively in any way will be the most insecure of Westerners, who you shouldn't take any feedback from anyway. It's not a big secret that Asians skew smaller and normal people won't attach weird judgments to that.
>>
>>10631747
There's a Buy/Sell/Trade thread and a Dream Dress thread that are approptiate for Want To Buy/In Search Of posts. Some other places may not be appropriate for those type of posts. Putting a high bounty on a dream dress is fine, but make sure it's actually high and not "10 years ago this would have been considered high"/"this feels high to me because I'm used to Taobao and Lucky Pack prices" or else you may get some hearty chuckles at your expense. With something rare, you may be going off of really old listing prices that don't reflect current value rather than recent pricing of similar pieces.
>>
>>10631755
Exactly. Listen to the actual asian person, people that get assblasted over nothing need a reality check.

>>
>>10631730
I'm also on the thin side, but I'm pear-shaped so my thighs are also chonk-tier.
My thighs are 23 inches around at thier largest point, and my hips/butt is 39 inches. I'm also 5'6" tall.
I'm not sure if all AP tights are the same, but I had trouble pulling them up past my upper thigh. I really had to tug to get them flat against my crotch and over my butt (they were really tight around that area). I'm honestly surprised they didn't rip.
Hopefully my measurements help? If you're any bigger than me, they definitely won't fit. They were pretty uncomfortable on me.

I wouldn’t say so, but there’s always someone out there who’s going to find a problem with something. You might get snide comments, but you should go for it (assuming it’s actually a high offer)

This technique came to mind: https://youtu.be/_P4PYX0hRxo . In the video she has a sweater that's falling apart by the threads so she uses a crochet need and thin thread to make new lace. She integrates it back into the old weaving so it's sturdy again. She made the mend a purposeful visual part of her design, but maybe you could try to replicate the old lace pattern?

What's a good Japanese shopping service if you're planning to bid on many cheap auctions? Most SS charge like 500 per transaction and that really adds up...
>>
>>10632115
There are some that do percentages but like, 5 extra bucks isn't much unless you're going for like 20 items or something? Maybe ask a personal SS for a deal on a bunch of small items but I doubt they'll bend their policies.

I made a purchase through Buyee on Yahoo! Shopping for an artbook. I placed the order on June 10th and the order was confirmed later the same day, but now it's June 15th and it hasn't even shipped yet. It's my last order before I can consolidate my package and the storage timer is ticking. The original listing on the actual Yahoo! Shopping website said something about 6/19, but I don't know if that's the day it's going to be shipped by or if it's supposed to arrive by then. Is this normal? Am I just being impatient? All of my other orders from Yahoo! Auctions and Mercari Japan shipped so quickly. Here's the listing for reference: https://store.shopping.yahoo.co.jp/bookfan/bk-4592227727.html. It says 6/20 now.

I have been out of the Lolita scene for like 4 years but I randomly remembered there was a Japanese artist whose designs used to get posted on this board a lot, people really seemed to love her work but I can't remember her name or really describe what it was that well.

I remember people used to take pleasure in recreating her drawn designs in real life though. Because they were very complex and detailed.

Has anyone tried to permanently attach bow clips that come with shoes?
I ordered a pair from Antaina and the bows on the front of the shoe came as clips, which sucks because the model I ordered clearly shows them sewn to the shoe in the picture.

IIRC Yidhra actually sells lace toppers! They're like wristcuffs for your ankle/calves lol.

I think the three taobao stores that get mentioned a lot for being plus size friendly are Yidhra, Red Maria, and Ruby Rabbit. I haven't tried Yidhra tights yet (I did order some) but Ruby Rabbit actually fit me. I'm 5'5" with 21 inch thighs at the widest point. Idk my upper and lower hip number rn but I have a fairly big butt as well. I've never had taobao tights fit me ever, the crotch always sags, so I was pleasantly surprised. Idk how well they would hold up during a full day of wear, or with larger measurements tho.

Update: For whatever reason, the seller just didn't update that the product had shipped and it arrived today at the warehouse. All is well.
>>
>>10633066
Silicon foot pads. They're meant for high heels, but they're just stickers you can put into any shoe. They will give more friction and stop your foot slipping when walking. You can find these in shoe shops, amazon, etc.
>>
>>10632975
why not just use it as clips so you can have a more versatile shoe?

anyway, sewing might be more difficult since there is a lot of thick/sturdy material to pierce with a needle, but it would be far more sturdy and permanent than glue, which would probably be even less permanent than clips, seeing as how gluing onto vinyl and fake leather is not very practical for long term.

>>
>>10633475
>How can you not hate scrotes?
Easy, I don't go out of my way to stew in my emotions about not liking someone. I used to, but then I realized it wasn't affecting anybody but myself. So I decided to stop, and over time I was able to break the habit. Now I just go "meh that person sucks" and either do something about it or just chalk it up to the fact that sometimes people suck and move on. That strategy doesn't allow hate to fester.

I also try to remember Hanlon's Razor: never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity. I'd go one step farther and say, never attribute to stupidity that which can be adequately explained by the everyday brain farts and emotional baggage we all have. Everybody kinda sucks sometimes, and you can use that as a reason to hate people, or you can chalk it up to the human condition and save your energy for other things.

I feel like either you are not asking this in good faith, or you could benefit from learning some emotional management.

Why do half of the second hand clothes i get from Japan have this distinct same smell?Goes both for mercari and CC,WW

>>
>>10633523
hmmm so the smell my brain associates with excitement from getting a new piece in the mail is mold, awesome
>>
>>10633507
idk about the CC smell, but I know some people store their clothes with smelly mothballs that are for keeping moths away from their knitted goods, so maybe something like that?
>>
>>10633523
I have this issue a lot with things smelling either mildewy or like cigarettes faintly because everyone smokes so much.
>>
>>10633507
Whenever I order vintage kimono, they smell like mothballs and honestly I don't hate it, it makes them smell their age if that makes sense lol. Most second hand clothes I get from Japan smell totally neutral, but one time I ordered a lolita dress with a strawberry print and it smelled SO FRESH. It smelled like some sort of really lovely detergent. It's been like three months since I got it and the scent still lingers. Every time I wear the dress I can't resist smelling the fabric. I think I got lucky with it.

The lesson to be learned here is launder your clothes before selling if you can, it'll really make someone's day lmao
>>
>>10633507
I was thinking about this too. The smell doesn't even come out with just one wash.

I have fine curly hair with curly bangs and it's almost always frizzy. I've wore it natural with my coords so far but I want to step It up. Problem is, idk shit about hairstyling. Where do I start? I've got a flat iron, should I buy anything else? Look into any websites? This is a bit of a long question, thanks for even reading It gulls
>>
>>10633634
I mean, this is just kind of opinion, but rather than potentially fucking your hair up even more with heat, I would embrace the curls. Idk how much you do for your natural hair texture (since you described frizz), but I would look into products like mousse, proper shampoo and conditioner (avoid sulphates, specifically SLS) etc.

You can do all kinds of cute styles with curly hair. Twintails, buns, updos...lots of choices! Just search for "[hairstyle] for curly hair" and see what comes up that's cute or loliable. I've also seen lolitas just wear their hair loose and curly (though still styled with product). I think it looks really cute, particularly when wearing old school.

I have the same hair, seconding this anon's advice. Definitely avoid heat on your curls. I highly recommend washing your hair infrequently, like 1-2 times a week, with a sulfate free shampoo. Follow it up with a hydrating conditioner and detangle (I use Eva NYC's Mane Magic Conditioner) then scrunch in a good gel for lasting definition (I use Ouidad's strong hold anti-humidity gel). There's plenty of resources for caring for curly hair and you should definitely consider embracing it.

Look into curly girl method asap and you'll have beautiful, smooth and defined curls that will look better than you ever thought possible. The best part is, you don't even really have to style it, just use products and your hair will eventually start doing its own thing. I thought I'll always have a frizzy bird's nest for hair, but turns out it just needed a ton of moisture. Now I don't even have to be afraid of humidity, it always stays cute and frizz-free. Seriously, can't recommend it enough. Embrace your curls!

>>10633690
I have experience with the taobao knockoff. They're really stiff, thick, and less stretchy than regular stocking material. If knock offs can be sturdy, I'd hope the brand ones to be as well.

Otherwise, if you're looking for a similar style, Ruby Rabbit and Yidhra have these in varying patterns. They don't have the lattice-over-lattice kind of pattern but they do have a ribbon pattern, vertical stripes, thorns and roses, etc.
>>
>>10633763
You can afford lolita if you put money aside every month and once your have maybe 300-600 you have enough.
>>
>>10633634
You should try investing in some kind of curling creme/gel to tame to frizz. If you can to change up your texture and play around, you can use rollers too, since you hair is fine, it should dry over night pretty quick.
>>
>>10628093
How many pieces do you need to become a daily lolita? From main pieces to blouses, cardigans, shoes, etc.
>>
>>10634025
Probably 10-14 main pieces at least, other than any special occasion OTT tea party crap. You just need enough blouses and cardigans to go with all the main pieces, some you will be able to wear with multiple main pieces. Also helps to frame a couple of cutsews for hotter days or comfy cords. So maybe 3-6 blouses (at least one white or ivory and black, long sleeve and short sleeve) and at least 2 cardigans (one light and one dark) leg wear you will want plenty to change up looks and to have them clean fire laundry day. Accessories can be endless depending on your style, but at least enough wrist cuffs, bracelets, and headwear to match your main colors. I mean, of course it depends entirely on your laundry schedule but this is likely the bare minimum.
>>
What sorts of dress cuts should you try to avoid as a tall lolita?
>>
>>10633763
It's more about setting yourself up in a way that minimizes living expenses as much as possible so you can have a bigger lolita budget.

>obtain roommates or move in with SO if you have one
>don't eat out
>avoid needing a car and if that's not possible then get the most cost efficient one you can (one that's cheap, but in decent enough condition not to need major repairs any time soon and has good gas mileage)

Also, go to college for a career that actually pays well in the mean time, but do your first 2 years in community college then transfer to a decent state school.
>>
>>10634073
Also:
Buy on sales
Plan your budget
Save every 30% of your income
>>
>>10634055
Thank you! I'll be doubling my blouses and socks, maybe getting a couple more dresses that aren't OTT sweet before giving it a try.
>>
>>10634025
It depends on the person, just like any normie wardrobe.

Some people have little capsule wardrobes, or limit themselves to wearing the same color scheme every day. Some people have huge walk-in closets and wear a different outfit every day of the year. Some people do laundry every week, some wash things by hand once a month, some people take everything they own to a dry cleaner. You have to look at your own clothing habits and figure out what works for YOU.

Personally, I have about 20 main pieces in my wardrobe (half JSKs half skirts). However, where I live the climate remains similar year-round so I don't need stuff like winter dresses. I also don't wear holiday-themed stuff, nor do I attend OTT tea parties, so that cuts down the # I need as well. In addition to that, I have about 20 different shirts (a mix of blouses and cutsews). 8 pairs of shoes. About a dozen blousons, cardis, jackets, etc. to layer with. 9 purses. 2 pettis and 4 underskirts. 6 pairs of bloomers and a few pairs of shorts. Lots of socks. Maybe a dozen different KCs and hair clip sets. A couple hats. A variety of jewelry, wristcuffs, and other accessories.

Over all, I have enough stuff that I wear most items at least once a month, but I don't have to repeat coords too often. I also have enough variety that I can easily adapt coords to suit my activities or the weather.
>>
>>10634058
Adding onto this - which brands should you avoid if you have a long torso?
>>
>>10634177
Not specifically a brand but as a fellow tall long torso lolita I've never bought a meta piece from the 2010s that fit properly. Their newer releases are great, but for some reason they decided to make all their pieces in that era like 70cm long and with a 2cm bodice.
>>
>>10628093
I don't know how to put this exactly, but how do you feel about cosplays using unconventional materials? Like when you see cosplayers using paper, cardboard, casual clothes, etc in their cosplay? Not only do I not have a whole lot of money to make cosplays, but this one character I want to cosplay has a very specific 2D mask and no other defining traits, and I have no idea how I'd go about making the mask. Would it be considered lazy or trashy if I were to get a piece of cardboard and paint it to look like the mask?
>>
>>10634197
I think it's all about execution and creativity. AvantGeek has made a calendar full of dresses that she's made out of dollar store decorations. I've seen cosplayers use perler beads to make armor, use cardboard and paint to create 2D cut outs of characters, and paper or yarn to make wigs. I think if you work neatly and not slop shit together with glue and string, then you're fine. In general, it begs the question: are you cosplaying for yourself or others? So long as you're happy with what you made, do the opinions of others really matter?

That being said, don't think you should be entering any competitions in your casual clothes cosplay. There's a difference between a costume for funsies and your own personal happiness and craftsmanship. Crafters who have put their heart, soul, and skill into a costume deserve respect, but that doesn't mean anyone who can't/doesn't achieve that level of work deserves malice either. No one is going to like point and laugh at you for using cardboard. We all start somewhere.

(btw, craftfoam, modpodge, and acrylic paint are pretty cheap nowadays! I know cardboard can be free, but you can easily elevate your mask with a couple more dollars if you so choose).

It needs to be more fitted at the waist, so take it to a tailor or to grandma for an alteration.

I'd also replace the buttons with something cuter and pin a bow at the neck because right now it's lacking the cuteness factor. Most lolita blouses have lace and puff sleeves, and this one doesn't, so I'd consider it on the casual side for coordinating purposes.

Where can I buy leather/leatherlike bows to attach to the front of shoes? I have some really comfy mary jane shoes that fit great and I think they'd look very similar to tea parties if only they had a large bow. I'd like to use them for running errands or other situations where I'd be walking a lot.

How forgiving are brand bloomers if you have thighs and booty?
I wear small/normal size for brands if that helps
>>
>>10635246
You should be fine. I’m wear typical Japanese one-size clothes and have big thighs and butt compared to the rest of me. My Btssb bloomers fit just fine with room to spare. Sometimes they have drawstrings to adjust the leg holes for your thighs.

>>10635246
meta bloomers fit well on chubbier-thicker people, so they worked well.. bbstb depends

Nya but how are APs bloomers? They’re the most cute to me

for a circle skirt do I need a A-line or a cupcake petticoat?

Is there any proxy/shopping service that will buy and ship perfume out of Japan?
I know it's against the rules, but I also know that some sellers will break the rules.
>>
Anyone know when BABY Japan will announce hawase doll lottery results?
>>
>>10635394
In my experience you can ask proxy services, and they'll tell you that it's only possible through seamail and risks being lost or taken by customs.
>>
>>10635246
I have hella old Meta bloomers and they're really stretchy.

How much time is appropriate before you tell someone you are no longer interested in a LM transaction? I'm starting to lose interest in a sale because the seller has been taking much longer to get back to me than I feel is acceptable and I'm on the verge of wanting to pull out.
>>
If a seller has offers open for an item that is not high in demand at all and listed 3x the price they bought it for/it was ever sold for, is it fair to offer them what they paid for it plus shipping? I don't want to be rude but it's a type of item that is already damaged a bit and is known to degrade quickly.

I want to buy another item of theirs as well so I am trying to be fair about it and not burn a bridge, but I don't feel the offer is insulting considering the price they are charging compared to how much it typically goes for and they paid themselves not very long ago, what do you gulls think?

They don't seem to be some sort of flipper or scalper in general so maybe they'll take a lower offer and not find it rude?
>>
>>10635427
I know a lot of gulls will probably disagree, but I think it's fine to ask as long as you are polite when making your offer and gracefully take no for an answer if they decline.
>>
>>10635416
You can end a sale whenever you want. The only thing you need to do to be polite is inform the buyer that you're no longer interested, because as a seller, it sucks when buyers just disappear.

Are there lolita substyles or special cuts for long skirts (i.e. anything from below-the-knee to floor-length)

オーガンジーソフトパニエ metamorphose

Is it a petticoat or an underskirt? What's the difference, really? I think this is a cupcake shape, which makes it a moot point as I need an a-line! Petticoat confusion is really hindering my entrance into the fashion!!
>>
>>10635427
I don't think it's inherently rude, but it would be better to purchase the other item you wanted first and then offer on the overpriced one. That way it's clear you're a serious buyer.

It's a petticoat, but a bit of a lighter one. Most petticoats have a slip to protect your legs from the scratchy petticoat or from sticking to it.

In lolita, petticoats are usually used for volume and underskirts are used for volume and/or extending underneath a skirt for added details and/or length. See picture for example.
>>
>>10635448
That's a smart idea! Thanks for the tip!
>>
>>10635436
Below-the-knee is fine in all substyles. Lolita skirt lengths go from mid-thigh to mid-shin (depending on the substyle and cut). Anything longer (or shorter) than that is not lolita. Floor length skirts aren't lolita, and mini skirts aren't lolita.

If you want to focus on longer skirts your best bet is classic brands like Innocent World and Victorian Maiden, or gothic brands like Sheglit.

EGA uses pants and longer (usually ankle-length) skirts, and most gothic brands release both EGL and EGA stuff. There's also brands like Pink House, which many lolitas also wear. But EGA and Pink House aren't lolita.

I’m interested in buying stuff from atelier p, primarily the other brands they carry…how is the quality of physical drop, morun x muna etc?
I know to stay away from violet fane as i have heard things about the quality, but i’m not sure of the rest.

Has anyone received anything from Wunderwelt to the United States? I ordered something a while ago when shipping was suspended and just recently remembered it. I've received other things from Japan since, but no update from Wunderwelt. I thought I might ask in the stupid questions thread before I email them a stupid question.
>>
>>10635893
They might still be working on a huge backlog. I got my shipping "invoice" on the 10th, and my stuff arrived yesterday. Being patient or emailing them would be up to you.

How often does Baby release their classical series staples? I'm in desperate need of the spin doll headdress in sax, but it seems as though there have already been 2 separate releases this year, so I'm not hopeful.
