Stupid questions go here.
>>
Is there any place to get a cute blue wig for gothic Lolita? Or at least long and black?
>>
Do they still use those insane flip phones in Japan?
>>
Does anyone have suggestions for Patternmaking books? I am trying to make lolita items long enough for my tall body.
I am just checking out whatever they have at the library for now, but I would love suggestions since I figure a lot of cosplayers must have experience in this stuff.
>>
>>10603072
Patternmaking for Fashion Design by Helen Joseph Armstrong and Metric Pattern Cutting by Winifred Aldrich are what I use. Though personally, for lolita I think it's easier to use the Otome no Sewing patterns and alter them. It's not too difficult to lengthen a bodice or skirt.
>>
>>10603102
Thank you! I am just modifying OnS patterns, but I figured having a solid knowledge of how patterns work would help. I will look those up.
>>
Is this shoe good for a casual oldschool coord? I like platforms but rocking horse shoes make me nervous.

I have several plainer looking cornet pieces and some moitie I would wear it with
>>
blouse over or tucked under the petti for optimum build?
>>
>>10603116
tucked under. always
>>
>>10603108
These are so cute
>>
>>10603108
it is, but isn't demonia cheaper?
>>
Do I need a taobao account to use xianyu/taobao? Also I can't copy links on xianyu for shopping service use (which is also why I'm asking if I need an account.)
>>
Lolital newb. For the direct brand websites like Atelier Boz, can you expect a restock of older items? Or are sold out items pretty much a lost cause?
>>
>>10603164
>>10603165
Thanks! Good stuff gonna get them in many colors

I’m not worried about price, i like things more classic/subdued looking and demonia seems to put silver buckles or something on all of their shoes
>>
>>10603108
I love and hate these simultaneously
>>
>>10603202
Atelier Boz seems to rerelease signature cuts fairly often, so depends on the piece.
>>
>>10603288
thank you anon

I'm new to wigs.

My real hair is butt-long, and thick enough to make 4 ponytails out of it, looking like the thickness of 4 normal peoples' ponytails.

When i tried on the wig last night it just wouldn't fit cos of all the hair i have.... what do
>>
>>10603532
Were you using wig caps or the French braid method? I do cosplay and while I don't have as much as hair as you (mid back), I use two caps. One double open ended fishnet cap to catch a good chuck of hair, smoosh around evenly, and then pin. Followed by a regular nude wig cap to hold it in place.

Some wigs come in a "large" size, for big heads or those with a lot of hair to stuff like you. I'm not recommending cosplay Arda wigs, but double check whatever sizing they have for their "large" so you can look for bigger circumferences on other wig websites.

how do I make a Xianyu account? I'm at this part and I can click on my countries telephone thing but if I click on "Get the verification code" nothing happens I tried every type of possibility of putting my phone number in

Sorry I can't help you, just wanted to say that when you get access, there is a shit ton of WTB posts so don't get too excited. Also I'm proud of you for trying to figure it out yourself first
>>
>>10603562
yeah for now I was just browsing and making screenshots and then translating them via yandex to see what's on there
a lot of stuff is really really cheap so I got excited until I read that like you said a lot of stuff is just WTB (I think?? the translation sometimes makes the sentences very cryptic)
and even if its not, its too hard to understand via just a photo translator

any good search terms for finding cute/decoden fake nails on ali or will I have to buy the supplies myself? not having much luck. I don't wanna go for pricier handmade etsy sellers or to a salon yet because idk if I'll like the longer look on me.
>>
What are shipping times like from US to Europe right now? It's been three weeks and my tracking hasn't updated
>>
>>10603646
I had to wait for about 2 months for a small package recently
>>
>>10603572
lol thanks, I was asking because I read an article about how flip phones were still going strong over there
>>
>>10604043
Flip phones are still decently common because they're easier to type kanji on but the really heavily deco'ed ones aren't really in fashion anymore
>>
>>10604141
they definitely are.
>>
>>10604141
They even make smart phone flip phones now just for fun and ease of use. It's pretty cool.

What's the best way to make slightly-too-large heels fit better? I've tried out a few commercial toe inserts but either the quality or the shape of the foam didn't do the trick. Is there a good tutorial somewhere for making effective toe inserts?
>>
>>10603560
Have you entered the right digits for your country? +86 is for Chinese numbers, for example

Asexual and having emotions has nothing to do with one another. You're like calling asexual completely autistic, it's more like autistic to ONE emotion that we don't get.

Being asexual means you have no sexual tension with other people or drive to have sex. It's only lacking the one thing.
>>
>>10604231
If you don't like sex, you don't have emotions. Sex is the definition of emotional. The only way to not want it is by having no emotions in the first place.
>>
>>10604231
please don't fall for rapist-anons bait
>>
>>10604234
You're calling me the rapist? My asexual ex abused me by not enjoying sex when I made him have it. You're victim blaming real hard right now.
>>
>>10604234
Sounds accurate after reading >>10604233

Never knew someone could be that retarded. lmao
>>
>>10604236
How is understanding how beautiful sex is retarded? If anything you have to be retarded to not understand how spiritual it is.
>>
>>10604235
>when I made him have it
Well, I guess this is apparent. If you're gonna troll gullible dumb fucking newfaglitas on the board make it less apparent that you are a troll at least.
>>
>>10604240
I'm not trolling. Sorry you're asexual. Maybe you shouldn't torture people by forcing them to not have sex, and if you do have sex, try to, I dunno, enjoy it like a decent human being with emotions?
>>
>stupid questions
how in the fuck do I manage to get out of depression and actually lose weight so I can wear the clothes I want, look good and feel confident?
I literally woke up at noon, ate 1500 calories lunch, many snacks, almost threw up, laid in bed and participated in futa erp on discord the whole day
>>
>>10604242
You realize being asexual, doesn't mean you don't have sex, right? However, I do think you're a bad troll. Lmao.

In my 17 years of being on 4chan, I've never seen someone suck so badly at trolling despite this board being ripe AF.
>>
>>10604245
>almost threw up

>>
>>10604242
complete nutjob. seek help and fuck off
>>
>>10604247
Even if they have sex, they still don't understand the emotions behind it, which is as sociopathic as it gets. And my asexual ex didn't even have sex with me at all. He was such a scummy person.
>>
>>10604245
Well, first of all you need to start moving around at least little by little. The pandemic is hard and I've been having trouble starting to move around with WFH, but if you start walking daily and I mean DAILY around the block or something then that will get you started on the right foot of starting to build up stamina to actually work out.
>>
>>10604249
How am I the nutjob here? I'm not the one who doesn't understand the beauty of sex.

>>10604257
Just to help you out with my diagnosis, troll-kun. But I do think you're a schizophrenic and probably do need to get some help.
>>
>>10604261
A healthy, normal sex drive is not "hypersexuality". Maybe you should get your severe hyposexuality checked.
>>
>>10604262
Well, if you're not exaggerating that your ex was asexual.

Then you're probably just ugly as shit and he couldn't get hard. People lie about asexuality all the time.
>>
>>10604251
Maybe you’re just an unattractive person. It’s evident from your posts.
>>
>>10604266
How would you feel if you dated an asexual? It's not nice to say that to a victim of severe abuse. I'm not ugly. He was just cruel.
>>
>>10604268

>on 4chan
Kill yourself you fat rapist.
>>
>>10604270
I'm a victim of reverse rape, but sure, keep victim blaming and call me the rapist.
>>
>>10604268

>>
>>10604274
You know you can go to jail for rape, right? Even date rape.
>>
>>10604274
BTW 4chan isn't anonymous, they have your ip every time you post and if you're actually admitting to a crime on 4chan then the authorities can request your posts as proof for court.

Have fun in jail, rapist. They might even have a thing where they are obligated to report things to the authorities now if something illegal has surfaced on the website in the 17 years it's been around.
>>
>>10604278
Then my asexual ex should be in jail for reverse raping me nonstop. And there's no such thing as raping someone you're dating. If someone truly loves you, they want sex with you.
>>
>>10604284
>Reverse Rape
Is not illegal. You, raping someone, however and admitting it on 4chan is.
>>
Fine fine, I'll admit I'm a troll. I've been making fun of all the people who think sex is this extremely emotional and necessary form of bonding this whole time.
>>
And I've been trolling as a way of coping with insecurity.
>>
>>10604298

holy shit when will you faggots learn to stop taking asexual troll anon's bait
>>
>>10604293
Whatever to get you to stop fucking shitting up things with your bad trolling.

You need to get on the Francis levels of trolling for lolitas and start trying to sell them Mary Kay or something. Lolitas are too easy to troll, usually, but the asexual sperg shit was just dumb and obvious.
>>
>>10604302
I wanted to show people how ridiculous they really sound. Like showing them a mirror.

Okay here's a stupid one. Since I'm tall and my sizing is weird, would this be perfect for me? It looks very easy to adjust by simple placement and leaves room for error in the measurement more than other things
I'm a beginner lolita

If only I could find the bat corset skirt and at a reasonable price...
>>
>>10604245
This thread is for stupid question about /cgl/, not a feels thread. We already have one of those. This sounds more like a /fit/ question anyway
>>
>cosplayer has some basic bitch martial arts, parkour, or electrical skills
>starts calling themselves "the real [superhero]"
Why is this a thing? I can get middle schoolers pulling this shit, but when adults do, it baffles me.
>>
>>10604335
i don't own it but i know for a fact this skirt has a side zipper, so it isn't entirely as forgiving as it looks. i think the corset lacing will still help with placement/weird fit issues, especially if you're not pushing the limit of its max measurements.
>>
>>10604388
i should actually clarify- the skirt and the corset are separate pieces in case you didn't realize. the corset can HIDE weird fit issues but the skirt itself is not very forgiving.
>>
What’s the best place to buy reasonably priced jewelry for sweet Lolita? Mainly looking for necklaces. Also am looking for wrist cuffs.
>>
>>10604415
>>10604415
Taobao has some pretty cute jewelry, check the Taobao general store list and the collages anons post for good stores. I bought from Cats Tea Party recently and got some really cute, fair priced rings and necklaces
>>
Back in November I bought a dress on lm and the seller never invoiced me or read my message that was sent 3 days after the sale asking to be invoiced. Finally in March she read my message, never responded and now relisted the dress I originally "bought" for $10 more. I'm pissed because I still want it, should I call her out?
Apologies if I put this in the wrong thread.
>>
So I've seen "nu-sweet" thrown around in a couple of threads, is there an actual definition of what nu-sweet is? From what I've seen it's just any print that's tacky
>>
>>10604431
in my opinion it's those ugly BJD style dresses (including prints) ala lovenikki. the ones that chinese girls gush over, those big fugly ball gowns.
people like to bitch and moan about edgy prints and things that don't fit the "feeling" of lolita (again mostly edgy stuff), but those things are more to do with what is acceptable in our changing social climate than an overall style change.
>>
>>10604437
to add to this. dresses that taobao brands (and AP) put out that try to mimic baby's princess designs are nu-lolita to me. they all just look off and are missing the part that makes them lolita and not period or period fantasy gowns.
>>
Jewposter here. What appeals to all the Christians with the cross and other similar religious imagery as a cosmetic choice?
>>
>>10604428
Don't call her out if you actually want the dress. In fact I'd have a friend buy it for you because I get the feeling she would just ghost you again for whatever reason.
>>
>>10604466
using religious symbols in a dark or ironic way is edgy, nothing more, nothing less. same with nun or priest motifs(and military to a certain extent) i love crosses because i think they are a good design element and they imply a lot given christianity's weird occult-like beliefs. i feel the same about the star of david, but most prints that include similar symbols are using them for real occult shit.
>>
>>10604466
I'm not christian but I grew up catholic and desu for me it's just a fondness of the overall ott aesthetic that comes with catholic cathedrals and reliquaries.
>>
>>10604466
Sweet cross-lover here, the cross obsession originates from gothic crosses. You can search "why gothic cross in fashion" to get detailed write-ups on the non-religious and aesthetic use of the cross, specifically. The aesthetic in lolita at least for me is an edgy, celestial, angelic vibe. Most people in the community are lesbos and not religious.
>>
>>10604415
Etsy and Instagram usually have cute independent sellers. Not all will be reasonably priced, but you'll have a decent selection to chose from.
>>
>>10604466
Not a lolita, but from what I've observed from fans of the dark academia or other Christianity related aesthetics, it's an appreciation for the netural/dark/rich color palette, architecture, the type of art (typically using gold foliage or shimmering gold paint, powerful awesome representations of figures), and sometimes clothing (plaids, repeating patterns, velvet, wool, etc.)
>>
>>10604472
I’ve never seen the appeal of edge personally, and while I wouldn’t use it in my choice of wardrobe I understand the basics of why it appeals to others.

I cant believe I forgot the western occult tradition! Im a dummy. Hard to believe it goes back so far too.

>>10604474
Never really thought about how what we see as children affects us outside of development of our personalities, but our cosmetic choice is definitely apart of everybody!

>>10604475
I get what you mean about crosses- they *are* a very clean and simple design, and designs that develop off of it like Eastern Orthodoxy remain both similar and unique at the same time.

>>10604478
When I thought of “religious” style, I always thought of just the symbols themselves, not the color palette or even the choice of material! Thanks for broadening my horizons on this one.
>>

That's what I've gathered from inspiration boards and general aesthetics of people wearing that kind of fashion but I'm not in that subculture so I could be wrong. Hopefully my observation isn't too far off. Interesting question though

>>
>>10604466
I'm jewish too and am not a fan of cross imagery. some prints like melty hospital have jewish stars on them too in like an occult-y sort of way which i find super weird
>>
>>10604616
I think witchy/spooky prints were meant to be a pentagram, but the Star of David gets used by mistake instead
>>
>>10604431
Nu-sweet is the same as taobao-lolita. Something is just off, like colors, print designs etc. AP is trend hopping and trying to emulate that style with their poly dresses
>>
is jirai kei just 2021 larme?

>>10604634
Pentagrams and hexagrams are only two of many geometric symbols used in Western occultism and are not exclusive to any one practice or religion.

what is the point of buying main pieces from taobao? you can find good deals for burando secondhand and it retains its value. is it just laziness?

How does buying from sites like Mandrake work? I’ve heard stories of shipments having insane charges added on top of the original purchase and truthfully I don’t really understand how it works. I’ve never purchased internationally before. I just want to make sure I don’t make a purchase and accidentally fuck myself over financially. If I buy more than one item do they come shipped in the same box or do I pay double shipping and customs on both? And what’s undervaluing??
>>
>>10605632
Mandarake is a chain of stores, so if you order multiple things they will send them all to one location and pack it together. Then you will get a invoice for price + shipping, usually in a few days.
Use this to estimate your cost.
https://earth.mandarake.co.jp/help/shipping_options-en.html
>tldr
DHL is extremely fast (I've gotten stuff from Japan to USA in 3 days) but also expensive, it goes by size so it's best for small or heavy items.
EMS is also fast, slightly cheaper than DHL and goes by weight.
Airmail is the cheapest and slowest available right now.
Undervaluing is marking the value on the package lower than its contents. You only need to do this if you live somewhere with high customs costs, and the downside is undervalued packages can't be insured.
For reference, my last order was 2 figures shipped EMS and shipping was $30.

I want to cosplay as this dude but the color of his pants have been nagging me in the promotional material they are marine blue or dark blue but in the show they look like they have a tint of green and in the modern anime specials he wears either gray or black I'm not sure what this color is trying to be
>>
I've never cosplayed a character with a really low cut top before and I was wondering how to support your boobs when the slit goes down towards your stomach. My boobs are saggier due to their size so going braless isn't an option. Is there a bra that doesnt have a chest part?
>>
>>10605883
There are always those boob tape things, I don't know how well they work with larger chests though
>>
>>10605883
clear bra straps?
>>
Really stupid question. Guy here that's never cosplayed but really wants to, for both genders. How to into makeup and costume design? Do you guys follow YouTubers, or just shop certain places and make it up as you go?
>>
>>10605880
go for dark cyan, no clue who this dude is but seems the best way to go if you're split between dark blue and green
except if you like the modern anime specials more than the original series/show whatever it is then just go for dark grey/black

How hard is it to learn sewing or embroidery from scratch?
I'm so tired of only finding tacky and stupid looking hats and it just hit me that I could probably learn and make some myself, either sewing on patches or embroidering something on.
>>
>>10605883
>Is there a bra that doesnt have a chest part?
It's called the gore and yes there are! You have a couple of options, but for a larger and lower sitting chest I think your best option would be to use a sticky bra that has a back band, no front gore, and if possible, clear straps (something like picrel). For characters like Momo from MHA, cosplayers tend to also use a clear strap to keep their cups or suit together. It wouldn't hurt to carry some skin safe body glue if you're worried about your "bra" showing.

While trying to look for the search term I used to find picrel, I actually found an article showcasing stick on bra options for bigger cups. Hope it helps: https://www.marieclaire.com.au/sticky-bra
>>
I got into it by tweaking existing garments, taking them apart and learning how stuff is constructed. ie. see if you can buy pieces and then modify them to fit the cosplay. My first cosplay that I jerry rigged like that was shuichi from DRv3. This is easier because you don't have to "conceptualize" it mentally as much as if you drafted from scratch. Also, looking at how other cosplayers cosplayed your character is a huge help (because there is a fair amount of freedom you have in interpreting a 2d design in real life for example)
>>
>>10605896
>How to into makeup and costume design?
Firstly, not a stupid question. Similarly to how you learn a new language, you need to have a combination of frequent and beginner-friendly practice, textbooks, and immersion into the "language" or environment. I learned sewing terminology from watching youtubers posting sew-alongs of their projects. I watched projects I had zero intention of making but found interesting because the more I watched, the more I could start to recognize the steps, challenges, tools, and techniques. Grab yourself a starter book for reference too. It doesn't need to be expensive or even cost you anything, vintage books are often great sources of clear and concise info, but there's also great beginner-focused books out there for free or cheap on the internet.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give you though is to not pigeonhole yourself into only receiving information that you THINK is going to be relevant to your project (ie. if you're making a theater costume, only taking advice or information from people who are making theater costumes rather than also accepting info from sewing grannies, historical costumers, cosplayers, and larpers). I'd encourage you to go further than just the sewing community too and watch videos about character and environmental design from artists too because a huge part of creating a realistic character is the design of their costumes/clothing. The key is just finding people and projects that you feel like spending your time watching.
>>
>>10605967
I think you dropped your reply to >>10605896, anon. Great info though, I agree! Alterations are a great entry point for beginners because you don't need to make the whole garment from scratch.
>>
>>10605914
From one beginner to another, it doesn't seem hard perse but there is a learning curve and the price of materials is so steep that it seems more cost effective to hand-embroider if you have the time and patience or to pay someone to use their machine to embroider it for you. I'd imagine making the file yourself and then sending it off to your commissioner would reduce the cost too.
>>
>>10605880
Go with the color that's more cohesive with the other garments you have. Remember that you're translating this from screen to real life so it matters a little more that it looks good on you than being 2 shades more screen accurate

Fellow guy that didn't know what he was doing - I found that teaching yourself horror makeup is a great way to get started. Noob mistakes like unnatural colors, heavier application, and such are actually positives in this context. Messing around with pic related to give myself cuts and bruises, sunken eyes, and gaunt cheekbones was a great way to familiarize myself with application and blending tools. Now I can do subtler touches like realistic contours for age or face shape, heavier scowling, or eyebrow shaping - all of which are really just scaled-back versions of making myself look like a ghoul.

>general hotel etiquette
Pretty simple to follow if you're not a cringy teenage weeaboo, just follow the basics of good public behavior and don't be a nuisance:
>Don't make a ton of noise in the hallways/areas near guest rooms, particularly late at night or early in the morning
>Don't clog up the already-crowded elevators by using them if you don't need to
>Don't block the flow of traffic
>Don't get in the way of any normie guests
>Don't fuck up any hotel property (staining your room's tub with bodypaint, messing up any public area artwork, etc)
>Clean up after yourself (don't leave trash around public areas, put all trash from your room in/around the wastebaskets)
>It's customary to tip bellhops and valet services, and some people leave tips at the end of their stay for the maid service

>What's the diff between staying at a hotel vs. an airbnb
I've always done hotels, but from friends who stayed at Airbnbs the biggest difference seems to be in transportation/parking. Depending on the convention, some nearby hotels will offer shuttle service to and from the con hotel; this can be useful if you plan to attend room parties or late night events that involve alcohol and you wouldn't be able to drive back. Its also useful if parking near the convention is scarce/expensive; hotel parking might be less expensive overall; alternatively you don't have to worry about the expense of using Uber/Lyft during peak times to avoid looking for a parking spot if there are few available. Airbnbs also have the bonus of having a kitchen which can cut down on food costs since you can bring groceries and don't have to rely on expensive convention/hotel/restaurant food for each meal.

Really which one is better for you depends on what sort of stuff you usually do at a con, how dense the area around the convention is, and what extra amenities the hotel you're looking at offers. You might want to make a spreadsheet to compare costs if you're on a tight budget.

Why are there more lolitas now? where did these people come from? Is this what gulls are talking about when they mention the "sweet boom"
>>
>>10606055
the pandemic caused a bunch of people to discover and start wearing the fashion. hopefully a bunch will fuck off once everything dies down more.
>>
>>10606055
the sweet boom is different though probably related. the sweet boom is the phenomenon going on rn where all of a sudden at the beginning of 2020 after being cheap and unpopular sweet suddenly became cool again and now costs a fuck ton when some iconic prints were selling for less than half what they cost now.
>>
>>10606055
Like any trend, I'd guess cosplayers/kawaii influencer types started wearing lolita pieces on tiktok, etc and it got attention. Old school in particular seems to have a bit of crossover with edgy egirl styles lately, unfortunately. I'm glad there's more newbies around though, I love lolita and I'm glad more people are enjoying it. Once trendhoppers get bored of it I think the "sweet boom" and inflated prices will calm down.

I think you've misunderstood my comment. I recommended that you acquire the other parts of the outfit like the blazer and then chose the pant color that coordinates best with those colors because how coherent it looks irl is better than choosing based on a minute difference of on-screen shade accuracy.

>>
>>10606295
Yup. There's videos on youtube of people showing their design process -- specifically for sites like Spoonflower. You just need an understanding of how to repeat a pattern and cutting/sewing layouts in order to make them.

>What if it's just at the hems and not the bodice?
If it's just at the hems it'd probably be easier to make a trim, but if it must be on the print then the design is likely only printed on 1 piece of fabric at the bottom. Again, this would make much more sense with a visual so check Youtube.

>>10606323
Almost anything could be answered with google, but this thread's purpose is to contain questions here instead of having 50 million single question google-able threads on our slow ass board. Chasing people off here is going to negatively impact the board. Also sometimes people don't know what to google so it's difficult for them.
>>
>>10606361
>When you're measuring armscyes, how deep do you go?
Depends on the type of bodice and sleeves you want, no? A dropped sleeve will have armseyes that are longer and lower. A cap sleeve has a tight and close one. A raglan or baggy sleeve with have something in the middle. Especially with women's shirts, there's a "Standard t-shirt" fit and a "fitted" tee that fit differently to one's body. For a jacket, I'd imagine you'd air on the baggier side. Take a look at some garments you already own and try to identify the differences -- that will help.

>How much additional length do you add to your body measurements when you're making a jacket that's meant as an outer layer vs making something that's meant to stay close to the body?
You're talking about a garment's "ease" or the amount of inches added to your body's measurements to allow for movement so that you're not making a fabric prison for your limbs. I don't want to be the blind leading the blind, so I'm gonna link an article rather than talking about it myself: http://isntthatsew.org/ease/

So in that shuichi from DRv3 example, I bought an oversized suit, and basically appended and removed pieces from it until it looked similar to what I wanted it. You'll want a bunch of reference images of the character, and pictures of other cosplayers that cosplayed the character. One of THE hardest things to get right when making cosplays is fabric choice; it can get very difficult trying to gauge how thick/thin, how stretchy, how dark, how shiny a fabric should be, especially if it's something unique and not easily identifiable (ie. a sweater in an anime has an easy real life parallel; something like Archer from F/SN's outfit? Way more leniency in what it could be). This is why seeing what other people have made, and how it looks, is worth the time.

You'll learn very quickly there's a "proper" way to make garments (that is nearly universal and that every seamster/seamstress will agree on) and many different janky ways. I'm talking linings, finishing seams properly, etc. For cosplays, you will NOT need to do any of these most of the time, because all you are doing is imitating the look for the outfit (from the outside). The internals will not matter (unless they compromise the external look; ie. a character with a coat with a visible lining).

Also, you can buy patterns and go off of them to learn garment construction (which is actually useful) and such, but guy patterns are 99% garbage (speaking as a guy) and annoying as shit. It's like 400 variations of a button down shirt. They'll also never fit properly, they're always oversized (or, I guess, if it's meant for Americans...). BUT, as an aid to visualize how garments are put together, very very useful. After enough of these, you will be able to "dissect" an outfit by looking at it and imagining where it's seams are, and get a better understanding of how something could be constructed. Then, it's off to prototype city.

How feasible would it be to remove the hood and make a shirt collar out of it?

i have no idea where you get this gravity thing from. that's literally not how anything works unless you have terrible skin that has no elasticity. that's just not how skin is designed to work. you probably also think bras somehow cause/prevent sag too. it's all just genetics, like body shape.
