Old thread is saging: >>10591047

Nothing especially interesting happening, but pic related did catch my attention. How much would you pay for secondhand AP plastic jewelry? I think this is the first time I've ever seen an AP necklace go for this much.
>>
>>10595891
For the price these go for you could have a simular item or dupe custom made for less. I'm not going to pay above retail for it but I get why people do.
>>
Never this much, jesus.

With how ridiculous second hand ap items are going for rn it would just be cheaper to buy things new at this point
>>
>>10595914
It is, which is partly why there's so much demand and competition for nee jewelry.
>>
>>10595891
I am very glad to not be a sweetfag right now
>>
>>10595914
The problem is it's difficult to even have the chance to buy new.
>>
>>10595940
Shut up you get a new release every week
>>
>>10595941
I'm not a sweetfag lol and not sure why you're so mad about it. But all it takes it browsing the AP threads to see how difficult it is.
>>
This is worse than the $700 swimmer lot
>>
>>10595941
even if sweets get new releases every week it doesn't mean we can get something, even if we get our hardest. we're not only up against each other, we're up against chinese new money and scalpers. shit's rough.

people have argued "then stop going for hyped/popular releases!" but what they can't seem to get through their heads is that *every* AP release is hyped now.
>>
>>10595955
There's still the leftovers tho. Even some at 50% off
>>
>>10595955
Not totally true. Mostly just prints, though their nonprint designs being better this year and less larme inspired has made them more popular lately.

But yeah it's rough getting a new release. I never had any trouble until JCT to be honest. The issue is only really apparent when the site crashes.
>>
>>10595958
anon i'm really not trying to be argumentative but have you seen what's happened these last few weeks lol. the leftovers are the fugly astrology dress and like one solid.
>>
>>10595960
maybe not hyped in the west, but every solid was gassed up on Chinese social media. i can't expect that to be common knowledge on a western board but that's part of why they sold out so quickly.
>>
>>10595914
>cheaper to buy things new at this point
It's been like that for awhile now, anon

>>10595891
I'm not surprised. This is the same person who bought the muffler for $300 (and their max bid was $400 I think)
>>
>>10595958
Anon do you have eyes? Honest question. The things that go on sale are ugly as fuck or salopettes that no one wants.
>>
Grabbed a mary magdalene dress from mercari for such a great price. I was surprised the japanese lolitas didn’t get it before me. Super happy to have another mm dress :)

It was tagged under btssb so thats probably why tho
>>
>>10595981
I've gotten some great deals thanks to mislabels, good on you anon.
>>
>>10595891
>>10595896
I can see how someone who's bern in the fashion over a decade, already owns everything imaginable, and isn't super interested in new releases would drop this much to get their last few dream items. I am nowhere near that status, so I scrounge 1 item at a time from new releases if I'm lucky and go to Taobao/other indie for filler.
>>
>>10595947
Bunny? Looks like a hamster to me.
>>
>>10596003
This is probably accurate. I've spent $300 on a piece of AP jewelry before because I'd been looking for years and it felt insanely good to mark it off my dwindling list of dream items.
On the other hand, it also wouldn't surprise me if newbies are spending this much just to get a foot in the door and feel "valid" amongst already established lolitas.

I love these socks too but I could never bring myself to pay over $100 for socks
>>
>>10596078
Ouch that's steep for Wunderwelt.

>>10596091
I have, but they were my dream socks. Something generic like a black pair of Moitie OTKs isn't worth it though
>>
>>10596078
What's worse is they are NWT and you can clearly see the retail price on them. Wunderwelt though, so, nothing new.
>>
>>10596078
Fucking hell lol, they don't even look that good on most people. I bought a Moitie dress for about this much earlier this year...
>>
With all the unhinged fatties, should I mark skirts with a waist less than 70cm as petite? The shirring has very little give and I'm sick of people asking for the max measurements even when it's already listed
>>
>>10596177
Just put the sizing bluntly— 70cm max, does not stretch any further.
>>

Update on Kumya Scalper debacle -
She's absolutely frothing at the mouth.
This is the second time she's decreased the size on the stains (multiple) on the headbow. I measured the largest one across and it's 1cm. At one point she told me its only .5 and now she's saying its .2
Despite her saying no flaws, shes saying the flaws are CLEARLY THERE despite me not being able to see them as the headband of the bow is mostly obscured. (And the waist ties are folded so you cant see the ends where the fading is)
And I have no idea how I froze her account, I am not paypal. I told her twice to contact paypal support instead of harassing me.
>>
>>10596244
What an unhinged cow, sorry you have to deal with that. Wish she'd get fucking banned already.

This is the stain that is 1cm. There's a bunch of other stains around the band, but this was the worst. I can definitely measure it again if enough people want me to - but this is definitely more that .2-.5cm in size (the others are about that size.)

Here's the waist ties as well incase anyone is curious about that. The middle bear is the upper portion of on of the waist ties so you can see the comparison.
It's a lot more noticeable in real life, the bottom portions being similar to the golden brown prints on the yellow honey cake, instead of the darker brown ivory should have.
Again, these are all OBVIOUS flaws that the user should have noticed and disclosed.
No obvious flaws, my left foot.

Here's some of the conversation that we had after paypal escalated the issue. I can also see if I can find where she initially told me I was SOL over the damages and she would not give me a partial refund.
I'm the text in the red boxes, she's in the blue.
>>
>>10596252
It's not even about the size. I understand how someone could overlook some pale stain of a similar size on an old item, but this is very visible. It could be that the parcel was not packed carefully and the contents got humid, which triggered the rusting. A lot of older AP head bows are prone to it.
>>
>>10596177
I thought petite was short
>>
>>10596269
I looked at the photos just now and yes, it was definitely there, so it's not a case of damage during shipping. It could have been a mistake, but then the seller should have just apologised and issued a refund. I am very sorry you have to deal with this. I hope this doesn't make the dress off-putting to you because of all the hassle you had to go through. In case it helps, I had success getting rid of rust stains on AP head bows in the past. I cut the stitches on the edges, removed the metal headband, treated the stains with a special rust remover and replaced the metal headband with a plastic one of the same size.
>>
>>10596275
I just deleted the wrong post oop.
Here's what was deleted.
As i mentioned there, the stainswere in her proof pic, thus it apparently is my fault (As mentioned as well, I thought they were part of the print.)

Also she agreed the stain is 1cm. And then downgraded it to .5 in dms and then down to .2 in the feedback she left me.

>>
>>10596323
The thing is, I'd have to pay to send it back to China. And I honestly did not expect it to be this big of an issue at first, Especially after accepting that meager $25.
And who knows - maybe LM will implement a block function/ban after this.
I've also already got LM mods on my side, they're going to reverse the negative feedback. (And hopefully change the wording)
>>
>>10596328
Additionally, I feel like she'd turn around and pull some shady shit after I sent it back.
She's already got a track record of unhinged behavior and lying, so who knows,
>>
>>10596328
The seller is in the wrong but your situation does feel a bit like you brought some of it on yourself. You could have possibly had PayPal cover return shipping if it was under purchase protection (they would reimburse you if you uploaded a receipt if the purchase qualifies), or returned it and filed a PayPal claim to get the full value including shipping costs back up to at least what you originally paid. Seems like you made it more difficult than it needed to be fucking around with a psycho seller.
>>
>>10596333
I thought paypal policy was that the buyer is responsible for shipping it back?
I also did not know how psycho she would be until she started harassing me after the fact.
A lot of her messages came in when I was asleep, and after a while. I just wanted her to go away.
>>
>>10596335
It depends, but in the case of PayPal's free return shipping stuff, you basically pay upfront for the shipping and ship it back and then they reimburse you if it qualifies or something. Idk maybe it changed. But even if that wasn't an option, you'd probably be easily able to have gotten PayPal to side with you and refund your full payment since shipping was included and the seller mislabeled the level of damage. They usually tend to side with the buyer, though secondhand frilly dresses can be more complicated.
>>
>>10596337
I did not know that, though now I wish I had.
Whatever, what's done is done. Hopefully it's almost done and over with and I can move on with my life once LM mods fix the negative feedback.
>>

>>
>>10596418
Oh yeah that's her. I remember when we all first saw her scalping strawberry kumyas claiming it was an accident, deleting their listings to erase comments, and then later finally gave up and just stopped pretending to not be a scalper.
>>
Posted this in the saging thread. But I found this funny.

I'm immature, does this dress actually have cock in the name?
>>
>>10596419
She's not only a scalper but appears to be an unhinged scammer. If you look at the document she posted, its just shifting the blame. Her listing does not have the video she includes, it does not have the damages she circled. And yes, it is listed as "very good" which, again. In LM's Listing Guidelines states "Very Good: Item has been worn rarely, and condition of item shows very few signs of wear or aging. Item must be undamaged."
>>
>>10596423
You seem a bit annoyingly obsessed with a problem you dived headfirst into anon, idk why you just didn't return it for the full refund other than to try to get a deal on a dress with an inflated price.
>>
>>10596425
I did not know she would be this unreasonable or insane. I'm posting information here to prevent people from having the same experience I did. Hindsight is 20/20 and had I known the item was damaged and that she was this crazy, I would have never even dealt with the situation.
>>
>>10596426

Most of us know not to buy from lying Chinese scalpers. She's been shady since the day she joined the site so I'm not shocked at all.
>>
>>10596412
Sellers in China are a huge red flag, honestly.

Specifically, don't buy from a known scalper. Not to undermine your struggles, but are you relatively new or were you just desperate?
>>
>>10596430
Yeah, I know I am kicking myself for that and basically "whelp that's what I get." I thought it wasn't a bad price for a cotton HC set so I went for it. I thought at worst she was just a scalper and at one point tried to deny that. It really hadn't occurred to me that she was a scammer, let alone being absolutely insane.
Needless to say, I've learned my lesson entirely.
>>
>>10596426
You don’t need to post every single detail when you could have handled this better yourself.
>>
>>10596432
Just desperate, I guess. I thought the worst that could happen was I was just over paying a bit.
As I just mentioned, I've learned my lesson. I just need to be burned once.
>>
>>10596437

>>
>>10596439

>>
>>10596449

>>
>>10596270
It is, petite clothing is the opposite of tall cuts, not of plus size.
>>
>>10596477
So you can be petite and fat at the same time huh? I learned something new
>>
>>10596479
Yeah, petite plus size is even a thing. Back when I was chubby I would buy children's XL or petite XL to get the perfect size tops and pants lol
>>
>>10596421
Yes and it appears in the print, it’s a dark nursery rhyme about the plague
>>
>>10596451
nayrt, probably depends on which version you want. I've been watching for the cotton round cut in ivory since the MTO dropped and haven't seen it come up yet.

I'll pay relatively scalped for extremely rare dd's that have a history of similar prices, but shit like the one seller with MM Valeria can go fuck themselves in the eye.
>>
>>10596479
Walk into any department store lie Macy's you'll see a petite section with all clothing sizes.
>>
>>10596536

>>
>>10596540
Nayrt but since most people are height weight proportionate, petite has translated to smaller sizes because short hw proportionate people are smaller sized, but petite in the technical sense was always height related and it's not just smaller items but items with length adjustments catered to short women.
>>
>>10596426
most people who are not unhinged will immediately agree to your terms out of embarassment. as soon as she started haggling for the refund amount it was time to eject.
>>
>>10596574
Yeah, you're definitely right. If I ever found out I sold someone with undisclosed damages, I'd be horrified.
Maybe the silver lining on this will be she'll get banned and we'll have one less scalper on LM. I really hope SOMETHING good comes out of it, at least.

>It is easier to take something in or find a smaller size than to adjust crotch seams or have to roll up jeans or buy capris cause normal pants are too long
No it's actually not. You can't add length to the pant leg. And if I get the length, then the crotch and waist need to be modified. You're the one that can just get it hemmed.
>>
>>10596767
They have...specific types of clothing...designed for tall people. Go buy those instead of getting angry that a word that is not designed for your clothing isn’t used to label your clothing. Half the clothing I find in stores is designed for a fucking Amazon anyway. You ever roll the cuff on a pair of pants 3 times and still wind up dragging it on the ground? No? Deal with it. I’ll enjoy the clothing made specifically for my petite frame.
>>
>>10596767
Fuck of whiny baby, we can't just hem shit. Do you know how annoying it is to have the waistband of normal non high waisted jeans come up halfway to your fucking tits? Stfu with your "boohoo I'm so thin but average height why do short girls who petite clothing is made for not understand how hard it is that I can't find clothes under their specialty sizing". Newsflash, retard, petite clothes were always for us hobbits, if you're tall/normal height, even if you're thin for your height, straight size clothing at any non cheapo clothing store is going to have an option for you. Some of us are small due to just being in proportion to our height on top of not weighing much and have limited options. Come back and complain when you have the annoying moe sleeve thing going on in a size S jumper or button down because the arms are designed longer for normal height people, maybe then you'll understand.
>>

I had some major FOMO tonight... Milky Planet and the headbow, Nostalgic Doll, Candy Shop...

At least they fixed the error where you could be charged, even if you didn't get the item (if multiple people were paying at the same time, it would charge everyone, but only one person would get an order confirmation). I complained to them a couple of times and I noticed the payment screen has changed since.

I wish CC would go back to being half as bloodbath-y. I remember when I could just stay up and buy multiple items relatively easily.

I once had this on LM. Someone wrote the print name wrong at the most crucial part meaning it never popped up when searching for the specific piece unless you typed it wrong too. It was AatP so you had to scroll trough a lot of pages to find it otherwise. Gave me time to save up and buy at a reduced price because it wasn't selling. I purposefully kept quit until I snagged it up. Girl could have gained much more money if not for that typo.

Many normie fashions use petite as thin & no curves where I'm from. Like, I've seen "petite" fashion with regular lengths but much flatter bust and overal very thin built. I guess what >>10596561 makes sense, where it not that often arm length doesn't become shorter.

I wish there where more clothes for tall woman tho. I'm runway length yet it's very rare for clothes to fit my arm and leg length. Hence me paying much attention at sleeve length noticing my previous statement.
>>
>>10596826
I'm not tall? Literally just said that.

>>10596859
By your logic, you can just buy normal waist and it'll be high waisted.
I don't get why you thinking getting things hemmed is hard. I can't add length that isn't there. You keep saying I can just find stuff that fits, but I'm literally telling you, they don't make my size.

>>10596992
Because I end up wearing a size 0 (if they have it) with pant legs that are too short.
>>
>>10597220
Where are you from? Where I am, petite literally only means shorter arms/legs/overall lengths. Deisgned for 5'3 and shorter. It does not mean thin or curveless, I have never seen that in any store. Burgerfag here.
>>
>>10597235
i just went on h&m. they have size 0-00 pants and their models are 5'8-5'10 and the pants dont look short on them. you can find pants fine.
>>
>>10597133
Poorfags like you are annoying and why no one wants to sell on LM any more. Do yourself favor and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>10597271
They are literally all too short for them. And why the fuck would I buy fast fashion.
>>
>>10597220
>>10597244

Same. As someone who buys petite the actually useful thing is that the bodice is shorter than normal, the bust darts sit at the bust and I don't have to hold the dress an inch above my actual shoulders to have the waistline actually be at my waist.

It's things like that -- the shoulder-to-waist length actually fits, the inseam is not too long so I don't have to choose between high waist or hammerpants crotch, those are the reasons petite sizing exists.

Everybody else normal should just shop normal sizes.

As for tall and skinny anon, anytime someone is so special they're that far out of normal sizing range, there just don't be any mass produced clothes because there aren't enough buyers to support it. You're just in the same boat as the hamplanets unfortunately, just go with custom or tailoring.

Sucks, but that's the price of being so special that no one else is like you.

I'm sorry, whenever anon say they're petite all I see is picrel now
>5"2 planet
>>
>>10597468
For me as a petite person the thing I have trouble with most often with is jackets and blazers. Petite suiting is a widely fed market, but it's usually mostly church or plain business suiting. It's always depressing to find a cool fashion blazer you really like, only for the sleeves to be over your hands and the bottom hem to be down your thighs. Definitely the bust dart problem, as well.

That's why I really like to buy up brand blazers when I find ones I like. If they're subtle enough I can wear them with normie outfits- VM has ones that work quite well outside of lolita.

It was released in 2002, and that's pretty good damn condition. I'm just glad we got good close-up shots of it now. It's lovely. Wish Meta still made stuff like this.
>>
>>10597277
you said yourself you weren't even tall so you shouldn't have a problem if they don't. feels like you're mad short people exist and are making shit up
>>
>>10597468
>anytime someone is so special they're that far out of the normal sizing range, there just don't be any mass produced clothes because there aren't enough buyers to support it
I don't think that's it anon.
Because the thing is, they used to. I was able to buy a tall/long version of my size. They also had the short version as well.
Now that just doesn't exist. It's not market, it's price cutting and trying to support endless growth for stockholders. We're getting less and less sizes and boxier cuts that "fit everyone".

>>10597586
Sure anon. I'm mad at short people instead of the companies making the clothes. Try to say something useful next time.

>>10597586

Stop size sperging in the secondhand thread. No one cares what size you are.

I feel like I'm going crazy. It's usually the seller who message the buyer first, right? I've had to message sellers a lot recently because they haven't reached out or even sent an invoice
>>
>>10597717
yeah, I've never had to message the seller first. Sounds like you've just gotten a bunch of bad ones recently
>>
>>10597717
Yes. That's definitely abnormal... I feel like there's so many new sellers and buyers lately that don't get sales etiquette.
>>
>>10597717
I was that seller once. I had item which just sat forever and wasn't selling. So I kept relisting and relisting and checked LM every few days if it sold or not. And then one day it suddenly sold and I didn't check LM in like 5 days, so I kept the buyer waiting for that long. I try to be more vigilant nowadays. There is no excuse for this but I can see how it can happen to others as well.

Honestly, I just find it difficult to feel completely bad for either side here...

First of all buying from Sunny_rnot is sketchy, I avoid buying from Chinese sellers on LM.

Sunny_rnot also did not provide enough photos of the dress, so I wouldn't have purchase. She DID however offer to take "360 ° video, please tell me your email and I will provide it" of the dress. You should've taken her up on it. It's not like Honey Cake is that rare.

Lastly, Sunny_rnot stated there were "In the 2011 version, the skirt is well preserved and has no defects.", which is obviously a lie.

You're both idiots imo.

>>
>>10597717
I’ve had buyers message me immediately after buying, but I usually message within 1-5 hours after the sale.
>>
>>10597745
I'm gonna have to side with anon here. Buying from Chinese sellers on LM is a huge hit or miss and the only one that's actually decent is fruitjelly (unless someone has a horror story with them too, then I take back what I said), and even then it's still a bit dodgy because she mainly gets pieces from Xianyu like the rest of them.
I wanna say there should be a rule in place for sellers like this, but I'm not quite sure how that would be executed.
>>
>>10597717
I dunno, give it a minute. I’ve been selling for years on lace market and it’s always been pretty chill. Lately I’ve been getting a lot of buyers who message me within minutes of buying an item being all impatient. Like chill. I don’t site on lace market all day every day waiting for people to buy my stuff. If you bought it during the day I might not message you until the evening when I get home from work. Or if you bought it at 10pm I might not message you until around 9am the next day after I’ve gotten up and gotten dressed, showed up at work and started checking my email. People need to chill
>>
>>10597717
Whoops. As a buyer I always messaged right after buying just to open a line of communication.

>>10597943
I don't see how this is bait, you're completely right. It's one thing to have BINs you constantly relist and not notice one getting bought right away, I get that, but if it's an actual auction you should be checking every week or so that you have them ending.

If you have active listings period you should probably be checking at least once a week. It takes 2 minutes tops.

I've never gotten posts like this that act like "outing yourself" as a seagull is a big deal. I've never hid the fact I'm a seagull and it's never been an issue. Most lolitas I've known have said they come on here and the ones who don't have never clutched their pearls over it.
>>
>>10598014
Some comms have a no tolerance policy for seagulls if they've had drama ensue that stemmed from here.
>>
>>10598014
Back in the days there was a huge stigma attached to outing yourself. That changed in like 2012/2013 when the board culture has changed due to new harsher rules and when we received a huge influx of lj and tumblr refugees as these platforms had died out and FB wasn't an option for many people and IG was yet there to be discovered. These days though cgl is pretty much mainstream and not a reason to be ostracized anymore.
>>
>>10598045
>not a reason to be ostracized anymore
but it still happens for some reason
>>
>>10597133
>being this mad about "scalping" over a $420 dress
>member for 3 years with only 17 buyer feedback
>only bought 2 items above $200, most expensive being $230

"Poorfag" gets used far too liberally on the board these days, but if ever there was a true example of one, it's you.
>>
>>10598048
Nta but this is stupid. It's not uncommon to do most of your shopping on Japanese sites. You can't gauge someone's spending habits from LM alone.
>>
>>10598051
I agree, but when you couple the fact that they only buy cheap mostly offbrand shit off of LM with the fact they left two rude comments calling someone a scalper on a $420 dress, the evidence stacks up.
>>
>>10598014
I know this is a bit different but when I think of "outing oneself" as a seagull, I'm more worried from the perspective of gulls knowing who I am than my friends or comm members knowing O come here since they use cgl too. If more aggressive gulls know you lurk/post a bit they'd likely double down on any vendetta or shit talking or whatever bc they know you're reading and can't respond (I mean you could but it's considered a bit cringe to defend yourself).

I don't share my lolita stuff at all om sm so I know I'm not really a target but it's kind of a worry of mine as someone who hates attention, good or bad. Doubt it'll ever happen but that's the version of "outing myself" I'm concerned about.
>>
>>10598135
Agreed, gulls are always more likely to latch on to someone they think they'll get a rise out of. That's why someone who has posted to selfposty threads (like the draw thread or BST threads) will always get some kind of callout if they happen to get posted in a COF dump or something like that and, god forbid, anyone comments on the picture. I've seen it happen plenty of times.

On top of that I've definitely been able to identify the haul collages or sales of lolitas I follow before so the fact that I can ID others by posts that don't even have their face or coords in them makes me very self conscious about doing so myself.
>>
>>10598014
It's not the fact they outed themselves as a gull it's the fact they publicly acted like a total retard and then admitted it here for cool points when really they look like a total ass
>>
>>10598275
It's funny that people go around publicly flaunting to be a gull. I understand if someone's asks and it's not a secret, but blatantly flaunting it seriously KEK worthy.

Like do normal people go around flaunting they're on Facebook or Instagram? Lmao no, that's just weird.
>>
>>10598284
Exactly. They just want to be edgelords.
>>
>>10597970

>>

>>
>>10598512

>>
>>10598516

>>
>>10598517
Bid HIGHER
>>
>>10598518
okay one more thing lmao, bid now already or only in the last couple of hours (there are still like 6 days left)
>>
>>10598519
Have two tiers of bidding is usually what I do. One to get a toe in the door just incase. And then one at the end of bidding.
>>
>>10598519
What item is it? If you’re desparate I suggest bid now and then raise your max bid at the very end and expect to pay around $1200
>>
>>10598525
oh okay thank you anon! just in case of what though?
>>
>>10598519
If you bid a crazy max amount now no one will outbid you and it may increase the chance they get discouraged and give up instead of trying to compete. But you'll get a better deal sniping at the end if you can keep up with the ending time and not forget.
>>
>>10598519
Meh, just put in the max you're willing to pay now. You can try to snipe it instead but like, why.
>>
>>10598528
I would like to add, don’t bid more than you’re able to pay
>>
>>10598529
Then she will lose by like $1 lol
>>
>>10598526
ngl I'm lowkey scared to post here which item since I don't want people flocking over to LM all of a sudden after knowing what it is. But then again idk how wanted it is lmao
I've checked on older listings of the same dress they went for around 200/300 euro but this started at 300 something already

>>10598528
yeah I'm not trying to go crazy high since poorfag so I think I'm going for the sniping since I'll definitely keep up with the ending time bc I want to see if someone new has bid
>>
>>10598532
that happend to me before I was so pissed lmao which is why im coming here for help
>>
>>10598534
It’s alright anon, I just have a gut feeling we’re eyeing the same dress
>>
>>10598541
me too ngl, are you actually expecting to pay $1200?
>>
>>10598544
kek no I don’t have stimmy money, but a burger might be willing to spend that much
>>
>>10598532
That's why you bid your actual max.
>>
>>10598556
But then you can still be outbid by $1...?
>>
>>10598558
LM always puts the lowest amount that you'd have to pay to win. So if someone is above your max, then it will be $1 more automatically.
So if on a $200 dress my max bid was $250, it would first show up as $201 as the current bid. and someone else comes along with a max bid of $300, once I get outbid, it would only show up as $251.
However, if they bid $225, I would automatically outbid them and it would show up as $226.
I hope this makes sense.
>>
>>10598569
Ah, I was thinking of those bidders who slowly increase their bid until they’re the highest
>>
>>10598569
Okay after reading this 4 times I think I get it, they basically show the second last bid plus $1
>>
>>10598569
Yeah this exactly. Sure, you 'only lost by $1' but you'd have had to go up at least $10 more likely to win, often much more. So just put your actual max and walk away. It's a much less stressful way to live life.
>>
>>10598704
But if you put your actual max in people will try to get bid past it, I feel like
And also maybe you'll pay way to much for it in the end
>>
>>10596177
i always sneer when i see someone asking me for the max measurements. Fatties are disgusting
>>
>>10596177

>>
>>10598711
I've seen this argument a lot. My counter is that in the heat of the moment in the last minute of bidding, you are much more likely to put an amount higher than you actually wanted to spend. You have much more time to make a calm and reasonable bid if you do so earlier.

>bright yellow sweat stained milky-chan OP at $500 on LM

If anyone buys this it's true chaos, jfc. I will never understand how no one seems to know how to wash their clothes in this fashion.
>>
>>10599059
in general how is it even possible to get this yellow?? So gross
>>
>>10599069
It's more to do with the deodorant than the sweat right?
>>
>>10599069
Probably a mix of deodorant, sweat, and then leaving the OP unwashed for a while.
>>
>>10599059
Right? The real wild thing is they could clean it and get them out. They are too lazy to google it.
>>
>>10599069
It really depends on both the deodorant and the sweat. Some people just have unfortunate kinds of sweat that I assume react with the deodorant more prominently, but to let it just SIT THERE on the dress and have it be THAT bad says to me that they've never even attempted to wash it. So gross.
>>
>>10598804
Why are we sperging over sizes when it's well documented that they're arbitrary as hell and they're not even consistent among clothes produced by one brand.
>>
>>10599104
because >>10596177 called people who don't fit skirts with a waist less than 70cm fatties probably

>>
>>10599625
It really does, but I'm working on it. Just sucks that I can't just target the fat loss to only my disgusting stomach area. Instead I'm losing my tits as well. Though it does mean I never have to fear a boobloaf. win some you lose some I guess
>>
What do I do if the seller doesn’t respond to my message asking how much the shipping would be? (it literally says in their description to message them for it) It’s been 2 days already

>>
>>10599637

>>10599638
I know my bmi doesn't put me at overweight, but I unfortunately have all my fat centered around my stomach area and muffin top going on. Other people don't notice cause I know how to dress myself properly but I notice and I know I'd feel more fine if I could lose that and get to a waist of say 70cm.
>>
>>10599639
It’s time to build muscle instead of losing weight
>>
>>10599639
unread, but I only want to bid if I know the shipping costs, also I feel like thats nicer for the seller themselves

also I have the exact same thing about the fat centered around my waist, people always say I’m skinny but that’s just because I know how to dress. If they saw me in a bikini they would know why I call myself fat

In my experience buying from scalpers has always been great when it comes to everything but the price. I guess it’s cause they’re borderline full time sellers, so they’re good about safe packaging, shipping quickly and generally not flipping the fuck out if you ask questions etc. I’ve bought from nearly every known scalper on LM at one point or another and never had any issues, aside from a mercari seller trying to scam me by not including the kc, then saying that they lost it, only to see that they sold it separately for a hefty sum.
>>
>>10600155
Same. If I am desperate for a dress, I’ll shell out for the damn scraper. It’s my last choice but it will be what I want, shipped correctly and fast, at least 90% of the time.
>>
>>10599811
>>10599979

I'm not. If you coddle them they'll think it's actually good. Don't give them that inch, I've seen insane shit down this road. Related hobby, someone bought a badly made item because the seller pleaded pet emergency. To everyone else, it's obvious it's a pity sale and the buyer would throw the item out once she received it.

Few months later the seller made new equally shitty shit, and this time she actually said "since it sold for this much last time, I know it's worth this much".

Buyer's act of pity basically made this insane idiot go out and buy more craft supplies, give her an inflated ego, and then it crashed even harder trying to deal with just being shit at crafting. Don't encourage this shit. Person who looked at this and thought it was ok to sell already has a few screws loose.
>>
>>10600155
Sounds typically for a mercari seller. Some bastard sold me an OP with cigarette burn marks all over the backside and one waist tie was missing. It was listed as brand new and they said I damaged the dress to scam them. They left me negative feedback after that. Japanese seller's are crazy sometimes.
>>
>>10600179
I hit send too soon and forgot to add that's why I'd rather buy from a scalper. Besides the high price I don't have to deal with lying crazies.

>>10600743
I think someone could definitely have a dream dress even if theyre new, I’m only in this since february but I’ve known what I liked when it comes to lolita before that.
In february i did a deep dive in the history as well, i looked at all the dresses on lolibrary and went trough tons of albums on flickr. From that I saved all my favorite coords and made a big collage to kind of like find the style better
Eventually i was able to make a decent list of wtb and a few dream dresses, I won’t shift or change in style any time soon because this fits perfect in with what I’ve always liked and my normie style

I found my DD and followed the fashion well before I started to wear it myself. I don't think that's so unusual.
>>
>>10600765
>tldr I've been in this fashion for two months
Your opinion is invalid
>>
>>10600824
This. I used to think newbs were fine but at this point it's gotten so bad people are calling ivory colorways beige and bitches think the equivalent of lolita-at-heart polyvore collages make them experienced enough to have a valuable opinion about the fashion.

I used to think people reeing over newfags were exaggerating, but I don't know if anyone can have engaging conversations when people can't get print names, colorways, and other basic details right. We're all sitting in front of devices with access to the internet and lolibrary, there's no excuse.
>>
>>10600187
Nah, people just have different bodies. Some are fortunate to have smaller waists and some aren't. I'm 165 cm and at 54 kg I could not get my waist smaller than 68 cm, 66 on good days. My underbust is 76 cm for comparison. If I really tried, I could have maybe lost even more weight and who knows where my waist would end up, but not without a tremendous amount of effort, rather than just really living healthy. It wasn't worth it to me at that point tho.
>>
>>10600765
>a few dream dresses
when will you fucking fags stop using the term DD to mean literally anything you want but can't afford at the moment? there's only supposed to be one and usually it's difficult to obtain
>>
>>10600889
with a few I literally only mean three

Yeah I thought this was pretty funny. We've had brand bags, brand hangers... now even the tags are fair game?
>>
>>10600743
My dream dress changed throughout the years as my interests changed and I was introduced to different releases. My DD in my first few months of wearing the fashion is not even desirable to me anymore
>>
>>10601503
At least hangers and bags you can reuse for storage, it's weird to me hoarding all these tags just because instead of throwing them out like a normal person and then trying to sell them
>great for photo shoots!
That was even weirder lol
>>
>>10601521
I save mine, because I plan on doing resin pours with them and turning them into keychains and giving them as gifts to people.
But just saving them and selling them as is is weird.
>>
>>10601521
I save mine in case I need to reference them for sales or archival purposes (lolibrary doesn't have everything), but I would never end up *selling* them. I'll just throw them away eventually.
>>
>>10601524
That's such a cute idea! I might have to steal it lol

>>10601527
That's a good point, I was thinking about that. If the seller went through the effort of keeping all of those tags I think it would make more sense to hold onto them as a mark of authenticity, at least for any main pieces
>>
>>10601531
Go for it!
I'm probably going to do two in each one so it's double sided with the logo, unless its an iconic piece, which ill just do one tag.
>>
>>10601527
It's actually really helpful for accessories that don't have physical tags to indicate materials and country it was made. If you have the time, consider submitting then to lolibrary so the info can be added to entries.
>>
>>10601453
I save all the tags from new stuff I get (which is pretty rare these days) as a sort of souvenir. I do like the resin idea though. Do you need to treat the paper somehow before you put it in resin?
>>
Just.... why
>>
>>10601895
ngl I would definitely consider paying that if they were my size and within the EU. Bodyline RHs are really great
>>
>>10601901
you can literally snag them for 20 dollars on taobao

>>
>>10601920
i got it pre covid and the the shoes + ss fees + shipping costed me 40$ rip
>>
>>10601591
Those tags might be OK since the finish on the paper is already kind of slick, but resin can eat through paper, so I would recommend a coat of mod podge or a similar water based finisher. Don't forget to seal the edges too, and then you should be fine.
>>
>>10601895
They aren’t even new. I’d maybe give a pass if they were new and in perfect condition but they’ve been worn and there’s a scuff on one toe. Idk how much body line charged but I’m pretty sure it was less than half the cost of these.

the one in the oldschool thread has La Luice brand tags. you think it's a knockoff?
>>
I do not understand why people will sell these ruined ass bags on LM.
Why do they treat their possessions like that? And why sell it later? Do people buy these?
>>
>>10602229
To be fair pleather just does that over time. I have seen people use leather paint to 'repair' it, but it never looks as good as new. That is too steep a price for that much damage though.

God, you LM stalkers are so creepy. I don't want to ever buy anything desirable there anymore.
>>
>>10597943
>>10597973
If you want hand-holding, buy from a scalper. Those of us who have real jobs and responsibilities aren't on LM to answer 1500 questions from fatty chans and newlitas who haven't done their research or read the description.
>>
>>10602446
I'm happy for her. I hope she coords it well and you sit there and stew in your insane stalker salt tears.
>>
>>10600667
>>10600744
This is why idgaf about mercari scalpers. I avoid import fees, and after two expensive dresses with major undisclosed damage on from the Japanese second-hand market, I am more than happy to pay extra for the scalper taking on that risk, and for the option to file a claim etc. if something is wrong.
>>
>>10600889
You sound un-fucking-hinged.
>>
The hostility is top notch today. Good work gulls, keep it up
>>
>>10602490
At least today it’s somewhat reasonable
>>
>>10602490
I actually find it refreshing that the lolita community is still a bunch of bitches. Maybe it just makes me feel better about how competitive the market is these days idk.
>>
>>10602487
I paid $418 for a dress that smelled so strongly of smoke I almost threw up, plus it had a damaged seam. I spent weeks trying to get the smell out, to no avail. Smoking is super common in Japan, and the seller didn't see that as damage at all. I ended up giving the dress away to someone who already had smokers in her house because I couldn't stand the smell
>>
>>10602446
I hope your dd will get sniped by a newbie in the final 3 seconds

So there's something I wanted to buy on Mercari that had been sitting there for weeks/months? It didn't have a proof picture and Japonica took the initiative to ask the seller for a proof picture before purchasing. The seller provided a proof picture and then increased the price by 20%. I am upset and don't feel I can buy it anymore out of principal.
>>
>>10602534
they probably recognized Japonica's username as an SS and added the foreigner tax
>>
>>10596439
I bought Kumya's Glittery Milky Way from a fril scalper. No regrets, I tried for it with an SS and it sold out within 2 minutes in the navy and now it's impossible to find and sells for even more secondhand. It's my favourite dress in my wardrobe, I'd be super upset if I didn't buy it from that scalper and I was still searching for it to this day.
>>
>>10602537
I doubt it, they probably just saw someone was interested in buying. I've had people on LM try to pull the exact same shit when I asked about an unsold expired listing, relisting and adding an additional 40-50$ on it, and have just flat out said I'm not interested if they hike the price.
>>
>>10596439
Top kek anon. As a scalper, the only people who complain about prices or screech scalper at me *are* newbs. It's the established lolitas who buy from me the most, often from their second LM account but not always. Just go look at the sales history on LM and that doesn't even account for Mercari etc. Established Lolitas have been around long enough to know that scalpers are often their best bet in the grand scheme of things. See Milkyway chan in your replies.
>>
>>10602539
Agreed. With hype prints, you either snag it from a scalper immediately after the release or risk never seeing it again. Once those initial scalped listings sell, it may not circulate, especially on dresses that are so satisfying to own.
>>
>>10602540
LMAO the gullllllllll on her. I guess it does depend on how long ago the listing expired. I also do get annoyed when people expect a discount just because the listing expired. The sale isn't urgent, and I'll lower the price if I want to.
>>
>>10602572
Newfag/poorfags don't even know what a scalper is. In fag logic anyone pricing more than they can afford = scalper, a fact which has been shown about 999 times in these threads.
>>
>>10602577
I don't think that anon was asking for a discount. They just wanted to buy it at the price the listing expired at..
>>
>>10602572
Where do people think these insta famous lolitas are getting their 2010 sweet from anyways? They're not coming from fril/Mercari/KuroKuro...
>>
If you really want it, an extra $50 or so isn't that bad but it's just not a great way to sell your stuff as more buyers will pull out
>>
it's funny people think i'm stalking when her posts about it came up on facebook and instagram multiple times. I also have mutuals so I see more. I'm gothic not sweet so I couldn't care less about pastel prints
>>
>>10602639
>I couldn't care less about pastel prints
then why are you so obsessed kek
>>
>>10602641

>>
>>10602655
>newbies buy cheap taobao shit
wahhh they're so ita ugh I hate newbs
>newbies pay high prices for quality brand pieces
wahhh my jealous poorfag heart

pick a lane stalker trash anon
>>
Why people only sell their ugly moitie blouses...they made so many pretty ones before...
>>
>>10602686
>pretty blouses not getting sold
Think you answered your own question, anon
>>
>>10602665
Idc about newbies buying taobao, what's wrong with that? It's more sad to see them get ripped off or not understand the worth of items. I've had a few DM me asking if x dress/bag is worth x amount and my god they get it so wrong and I feel sorry for them, some even are disheartened when they think that lolita is always this expensive.
