its great that this thread is being started by someone as stupid as the questions soon to be found therein

Sorry my phone decided to act retarded and fuck up the link i guess.

Chill, at least I tried because clearly no one else was going to make one

What's the general consensus with sanrio coords? (with sanrio collabs and with coords inspired by saniro characters as I've seen a lot on social media)

Is it ethical to buy a replica to use the fabric to make things like pillowcases, masks, coin purses, etc.?

How safe is the annual secret santa on cgl (like from scammers who doesn't send out anything or do lower than the minimum) and how does it work?

How does someone iron/steam a dress if the lining is attached and there is a built-in petticoat?
>>
>>10574201
Do you have an actual steamer, anon? Or just an iron with a steam function?

I would highly recommend buying an actual steamer for lolita in general, but especially for dresses with special construction like that. Even small handheld travel steamers can work wonders.
>>
>>10574205
I do have a steamer (3 actually because my parents go crazy at the thrift store for some reason) I have a handheld, "my little steamer go mini" and then 2 regular steamers. The hand held one looks grows because of mineral deposit but I'm going to clean it out with white vinegar like the internet told me i should.

I'm just scared of 1)burning myself because it said not to tilt it on the directional video but some videos I've watched online have people tilting the steamer and angeling it with the dress 2)steamer residue? I've heard about them online idk how bad they are tho
>>
>>10574208
Oh, I have that same steamer! A personal one and one at work, I used to use it at work pretty regularly when my coworkers were taking up all the Rowentas lol. As it says, definitely do not tilt it- it's basically a glorified teapot. You're best off hanging your garment from a door hook or something similar to steam so that you can keep it upright.

Also I've had the mineral buildup issue as well, it's pretty common. My larger steamers tend to get very little buildup even when I use them regularly but when I notice the water getting a bit grody I fill the water tank with a bit of vinegar (at home) or soap (at work) and shake it up and then give it good rinses until it's running totally clean. That should clear it out pretty well.

If it helps, I've not had any clothes be damaged or have residue left even when I steamed them when I was too lazy to clean out the buildup, but it does give off a bit of a gross smell sometimes if you don't.
>>
>>10574210
update: I put white vinegar in it and turned it on and it started spraying at my wall (like pew pew pew.) My guess is that it would do that with water so I think I'm going to have to throw it out unless there is some way to fix it and I don't think I'm qualified.
>>
>>10574251
anon, you don't turn it on with the vinegar in it!
>>
>>10574251
>and it started spraying at my wall (like pew pew pew.
anon I am screaming
>>
>>10574252
I tried to follow this https://finance.yahoo.com/news/clean-garment-steamer-save-mineral-214957277.html It said to turn it on ;v; maybe I shouldn't get advice from yahoo, but is there a reason it sprayed vinegar like why would it be different with water?
>>
>>10574258
it has to do with the acidity and the amount of water in the vinegar, you can dilute it and do this though, but you want to do like 1:10 ratio or so.
>>
>>10574255
;v;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

>What's the general consensus with sanrio coords? (with sanrio collabs and with coords inspired by saniro characters as I've seen a lot on social media)
Misako does it, and AP released a Wish Me Mell collab this season, so I don't see how it could be wrong. Mostly people say you need to make it a regular coord inspired by a character rather than a costume of the character, so no props or anything normie/costumey. Pic related.

>Is it ethical to buy a replica to use the fabric to make things like pillowcases, masks, coin purses, etc.?
No, because it still financially supports the replicamaker. If you had already accidentally bought a replica as a noob, then you could repurpose it, but I'm sure the brand designers would not approve of paying for a replica if you're aware of it.

>How safe is the annual secret santa on cgl (like from scammers who doesn't send out anything or do lower than the minimum) and how does it work?
There is a squad of volunteers who send gifts to the people who got scammed. To sign up, you fill out a Google Form when the link is posted. You can go find the past year's form to look over it and find the link to the rules inside it. If you miss the sign-up deadline, that's too bad. If it's your first year, you will be limited to lower tiers. If you have proof of good seller feedback, that's a plus. If you are afraid to lose money on the exchange, save your money to buy yourself your own gifts and sign up only for postcard tier. The fun of secret santa is in the giving.
>>
>>10574269
P.S. instead of a replica, you could buy a legitimate item with major damage, like a dress with significant stains, and use the good parts of the fabric
>>
is there ever a time where wearing lolita/jfash is in bad taste? Obviously a wedding/funeral are no gos, but are there locations/situations where one would look like an asshole? Or am I the idiot for wanting to not bother people when this stuff will catch the eye no matter where you go?
I’m remembering times where I’ve worn lolita and cringe at myself, even though I was just buying groceries or going to a restaurant
>>
I'm trying to find a first dress for lolita and I finally stumbled upon something that I like but I'm not sure it's a good idea for a first dress. It's a tea lenght casual dress ( it could work for gyaru too ) and has thinner straps next to most lolita JSK. Is it a good idea to get a not so typical lolita dress for a first one? the colours seems easy to coord but i'm a bit stressed out about coording it to look lolita and also not akward with the tea lenght. Could this be a big issue ?
>>
>>10574334
>tea lenght casual dress ( it could work for gyaru too )

How the fuck can a lolita dress work for gyaru
>>
>>10574334

this is an image board post the pic.
>>
>>10574329
The only time I would care is the usual wedding/funeral or if I was going somewhere I specifically knew that the other people there couldn’t afford stuff like what I was wearing and ALSO knew the price of it. Bc id feel like they would think I’m flexing on them or something and I would feel really awkward the whole time. But that’s really specific so I’m gonna say for the most part don’t worry about it
>>
>>10574329
>buying groceries or going to a restaurant
Idk but that's what casual lolita is for
>>
Do japanese lolitas complain about westerners buying out the good secondhand stuff?
>>
>>10574329

Look if I'm not offending my friends or family on a special day, I'm not going to give a shit about what Karen or her daughter Stacy thinks when I go past them in my coord. Life is too damn short to care what others think. The only time it'd be really awkward is if I ran into my boss or my less close coworkers, but I guess that's the risk of wearing alt fashion out and about.
>>
>>10574208
>>10574210

How "bad" are Baby's releases? I'm used to AP bloodbaths, but I've never bought anything from Baby directly.
>>
>>10574501
Depends. Sometimes shit sells out instantly, sometimes it sits forever.
>>
>>10574501
well, the site doesn't crash, for one
>>
>>10574201
personally i feel its ethical if you buy it secondhand and for a really low price so you dont give value to the replica resale market
>>
>>10574501
Popular things sell fast (pink will always go first, the scalloped/non babydoll cut jsks and skirts will always go first) but usually it takes like an hour even for the top colorway and cut to sell out completely. KCs seems to go fast as well.
>>
New around these parts. Is it ever acceptable to buy a plain white petticoat from Amazon/Wish? Have any anons here bought one from either of those that was actually decent?
>>
>>10574576
if you know what to look for and check reviews and review images, sure. if youre new and have no idea what you even need to be looking for probably not.
>>
>>10574576
Sure for casual coords it would be fine.i don’t think you could find anything to work for sweet, but for classic and goth (in which some pieces don’t use heavy poof, or even poof at all) should be fine.
>>

>>
>>10574607
That dress needs a bolero/cardigan and not really a blouse.

but it is kind of a weird dress, very casual for classic but it could definitely be dressed up. It’s like a really nice normie dress almost.

do you want to get into classic style?
>>
Legit dumb question coming though. Is H&M Japan sizing the same as the UK? They have a NiziU collab dress that is too cute but I don't want to get it and it not fit
>>
>>10574652
Just to clarify, I mean is there any vanity sizing? I've read the size guide but they can be really fucky
>>
>>10574652
I believe the sizing is the same worldwide. I bought something from H&M indonesia and its the same as h&m usa. They had the sizes for different countries on it too. Unless they changed something since, the siZes are equivalent
>>
>>10574672
ty anon!
>>
>>10574620
true that it seem not made for wearing with a blouse. I would like to get into classic but I also like more oldschool sweet stuff like gobelin and florals ( not a big fan of border print )

is being 5'1 and having a 26-inch waist and 30-inch bust too large for VM's, IW's, and MM's older pieces?
>>
>>10575328
No. But skirts are very small. Dresses should be fine
>>
>>10575328
26inch waist won’t fit into the slimmer fitting pieces that don’t have shirring. Well maybe you could force it but it wouldn’t look great.

30 inch bust is pretty small so that should be fine
>>
I got a blouse recently that is my measurement. It's roomy around the waist and bust but at the bust area, the buttons pucker and leave a gap. do I just sew snaps onto the inside or can i just sew it down? I want to wear it with a skirt.
>>
>>10575328
You'll fit some dresses, but not all. At your height with 35-26 I fit into a lot of older VM and IW just fine, just doublecheck the measurements on lolibrary. Skirts may be a little uncomfortable at 26in waist, though you can still fit many of them.

You might not fit MM. They're cut for titty even less so than the other two.

>>10575391
I've been thinking of sewing snaps into some of my blouses that have this problem, it should work. I have taobao blouses that come already with this and it's very helpful.
>>
>>10575394
Sorry, I'm tiredposting and just realized you won't have to worry about titty at 30in lol. I had to mush mine into a couple VM things but the waists always fit fine. You should probably fit a lot of MM fine as well, though you should again check measurements from dress to dress. Your bust will be just fine in anything, in fact you may have trouble with a lot of dresses being too roomy in the bust since many of them lack any corset lacing.
>>
>>10575394
My fear is that it would create more puckers if I sew snaps on or that it would be bulky.
>>
Can someone please tell me how I can sew a waist tie button back on?

Does someone know the name of that special stitch in English where it leaves a bit of length between the button and fabric to absorb tension?

I'm a complete idiot newbie with sewing so any help for simpletons like me would be much appreciated, especially if there is a special way to hide the thread. Thank you!
>>
>>10575391
>>10575403
if you're worried about the snaps creating puckers, you could try longer strips of velcro instead. That should serve the same function as the snaps but maybe would help create a smoother appearance.
>>
>>10575410
i was going to suggest this, i actually use velcro.
>>
>>10575406
Google 'how to sew a shank button'
>>
>>10575410
>>10575413
that sounds like a good idea but I'm just scared that the stitching would be obvious on the outside even if I just matching thread. My original plan was to sew on the snaps or sew them together on the inside layer of fabric on the top of the blouse by hand.
>>
>>10575424
you can get stick on velcro. sewing them together will make it so you can't put the blouse on.
>>
>>10575328

Paid a girl on LM 10 days ago and she still hasn't shipped...am I being entitled? Never had anyone take even close to this long to ship so not sure how normal this is.
>>
>>10575642
Nope, it's a dick move. Did you message the seller about it?

I once had to wait for my payment for over a week, buyer didn't bother to explain at all. I hate the shit mentality on buying platforms, it's not that you can do that shit in physical stores too. Pay and ship in a timely manner if not bespoke different, is it too much to ask?!
>>
>>10575646
I did message her about it especially since I'll be out of town soon and don't want my package stolen. She said she would ship 5 days ago but still hasn't.
Seriously, though I don't understand why anyone would put things up for sale if they can't be bothered to ship!
I always make sure to pay and ship absolutely ASAP so it really disappoints me when people blow off easy things like this.
>>
What is the general consensus on Anna House as a brand?
>>
>>10575605
Thank you!
>>
>>10575642
Yes, you do sound sort of entitled. 10 days is not that much. Is it in their TOS that they have a certain amount of time to ship? Not everyone can get to a post office right away, so unless their TOS specifically gives a shorter timeframe, I would be patient. Keep in mind you're dealing with an individual seller; many people can't rush to the post office alongside work and RL commitments.

But, if she did already give you a certain timeframe (it sounds like she did, 5 days ago was the limit?), then yes, I think it's appropriate to be annoyed in that case. Did you message her since 5 days ago? Has your message been read?
>>
>>10575698
Nta but I've never had a seller take that long to ship. 10 days isn't normal.

Are all AP poly dresses colourfast? Even red? I’d like to save a little on dry cleaning if possible.

>>10575726
Yes, they charge 500 yen per package, so if you consolidate 4 packages, it’s 1500 yen. They shove everything into a huge box, sometimes keeping the original boxes in tact, so you get a huge package that can cost a lot to ship. You could try asking them to consolidate as small as possible thru messages - I haven’t tried myself.
>>
>>10575698

I bought two petticoats off amazon (pic related) because I needed them to ship in a few days, and they were good. I shortened them to suit lolita and stack them together to give extreme poof for my heavier dresses. Because they're made of voile they don't get affected if I stuff them inside a box for a few months, unlike petticoats made of tulle. There's plenty of cheap, more lolita suitable ones on taobao and aliexpress, just check the reviews before buying.

>>10575665
Some of their designs are a bit questionable but I own a few blouses from them and they're decent enough construction.
>>
>>10575651
I would definitely mention this in the feedback, if she ever feels bothered to send you the dress at all. I think you are very patient but this is just too much. I would write her again and set up a time frame when you expect the item to be shipped otherwise leaving negative feedback. Telling you she will send out in 5 days but still hasn't after 10 without explanation isn't acceptable at all.

>>10575698
There is no way leaving someone in limbo for 10 days, especially after promising to ship after 5 days is in any way an acceptable behaviour.
>>
>>10574576
I mean you can but that shit is kind of shitty. I have a cage skirt from Amazon and I have to repair it every few uses because it's sewn onto the absolutely shittiest ribbon lmao

Samefagging but also if you want something to last a really long time and you don't mind a-line, malco modes is worth every penny. I hadn't had to floof mine out the way I have to do with other pettis. If I need a cupcake I do the trick where I take the outermost layer of the petti and tuck it back on top over the waistband. But I guess you want something cheap if you're asking about wish, which is basically overpriced aliexpress.

How do I go about finding hairstyles that suit my face as well as lolita? My regular hair suits me just fine, idk if any other hairstyle can suit me better because I don't really experiment, but my current hair is collarbone length, frizzy, very messy and voluminous near the ends. I feel like I can't do updos because my ears are too large and my head is small. I think volimous hairstyles, particularly ones that are voluminous around my shoulders are best. Pic sorta related
>>
>>10575698
Yes, I always try to keep in mind that people have lives but it also isn't that hard to drop a package off at the post office or set up pickup. Especially after more than a week.
Her TOS says nothing about shipping. She doesn't have a ton of feedback either but all of her seller feedback says she shipped quickly.

And yes, I messaged her last night but she hasn't seen the message yet.

>>10575841
Thank you. I'm verging on leaving negative feedback at this point but don't want to be too severe just yet. I initially (after buying) asked her to ship so it could get here before the 20th and she said not to worry and that she would do it long before then...
Whatever happens I will mention the amount of time it took her to ship and our interactions so other gulls can see as well.
>>
>>10575580
It is 20CNY extra for custom sizing. I don't think they do custom lengths, only waist/hip adjustments. Still cheaper than MeLikesTea unless you need something highly specific.
>>
>>10575884

>>
>>10575969
This. I think malco modes pettis look fine though I prefer a different shape. Baninabear is just attention hungry and should start a lolita onlyfans already for her fetish pandering shit instead of shitting up ig tags.

I feel stupid even writing this, but: when cgl talks about main pieces in their closet, do you mean only OPs/JSKs? Or do skirts and blouses count too? Shoes?

It's supposed to include skirts and salopettes, otherwise it'd just be written as "dresses" for jsks/ops.

Think of one of AP's releases. The items most gulls will be paying attention to will be the dresses, jsk, also the skirt that has the main print to it. Those. Those are the main pieces. Everything else is "matching", eg- matching headbow, matching socks, matching blouse to the release, and so on.

Two questions:

1. Has anyone ordered from mintymix lately? I placed an order on Thursday last week and haven't heard anything since then. My last order was several years ago and the shipping was always within a day or two. Just wondering how long is normal to wait?

2. Anyone ever had a "Scheduled for delivery as agreed" on DHL tracking? I'm in the US and the order is from ClosetChild. My delivery date was estimated as today, but instead of an "out for delivery" scan, I got the above message. I didn't reschedule delivery or anything. Their shoe quality is great. I've owned six pairs and all of them have held up very well, even to daily hard use. For stuff like creepers and platforms I'd recommend them over other brands like strangecvlt and demonia. I've had issues with the platform soles cracking on both those brands even after minimal wear, but never on my killstar ones.

If you have a very wide or high/thick feet (pic rel) I'd recommend going half a size up, though! Some of their styles are pretty tight through that area of the foot, especially the heels.

For other stuff, everything I've bought has been good quality but mostly way overpriced.

My graphic tees and other printed type items have been really durable and look nice in person, and I've not found alternative sources for those styles that are equal quality for a lower price. So if you want something like their tees or leggings I'd go for it. Howoever, the socks and other accessories I've bought have been basically the same as Dollskill or any taobao/ali brands. Not total garbage but def not worth the Kiillstar branded mark-up. Also the quality of their dresses and other "fancy" items is pretty trash, but that's obvious just from looking at the pics.
>>
>>10576611
I've heard killstar shoes are horrible quality, especially their boots. I'd buy from antania, angelic imprint or even dearmylove instead. As for their clothes, as somebody who has bought them and kept nothing, it's the same quality you would get in forever 21. I've been lucky with sizing personally, but many people have had bad luck with size m fitting like xs or m fitting like xl. I would only buy from killstar when they have a sale, which is very often, never buy from there full price.

I dropped red pasta on my pink 2009 Sugary Carnival dress like a dumbass and it left several small stains on the front.

Similarly like Baby corsets? I have been thinking about buying this few times and I would have definitely put it over a blouse and skirt but I might be an idiot. I admit it looks a bit limp and lame but could just be bad photos which is often the case with WW.
>>
>>10575805
You can say that all you want, but these have worked better than any of my expensive ones. They don't scrunch up or bunch in between my legs, they retain the shape well and if I want to modify the length or poofyness I can cut in the fabric or sew without being afraid of destroying something expensive. Also buying multiples in different colors doesn't destroy my budget so I can buy more brand.
>>
>>10575904
Read Gothic&Lolita Bibles, or check more Pinterest suggestions on hairstyles you already like, try the hairstyles out on yourself and take pictures to see how they look. I would say stay away from their leggings, they're thin fabric and the print starts to crumble fast. The bag quality differs a lot, a velveteen bag ripped during its second use, while my faux leather bags have held up well. Sweaters have been amazing, non-scratchy and soft.
>>

They actually updated their legging quality in the last few years so its a bit better.

They are an ancient one of the ancient indie brand leftovers of the early lj-days. The quality was questionable back then and it hasn't changed much since.

If i’m selling stuff on LM, do people like to know why I’m selling?

I usually put it’s the wrong color or doesn’t go with my closet (which is true) so it’s clear there is nothing wrong with it. But i’m nervous of having too much text.

I usually try to put all info like size extenders or loose threads
>>
>>10577959
No one cares why, just try to write a thorough description
>>
>>10577959
Honestly you don't even owe anyone a reason for why you're selling. Including anything about financial situation (school/rent/hospital/emergency) is kind of a red flag for buyers, they never want to feel guilted or pressured into getting something. Listing damages or condition is really the only thing require, aside from international ship/questions/concerns.
>>
>>10577967
>>10577965
Gotcha, thanks I will do that and just put info about the item itself and shipping!

Dw i never put anything about financial problems, it is always just ‘didn’t fit my closet’
>>
>>10577595
I hadn’t thought of that, anon. Thanks!
>>
>>10577959
The only reasoning I sometimes put is if it didn’t suit my body type, so I can let buyers know if it might be flattering or not (ie. I’m very short and the torso was much too long on me or the sleeves are tight) but never any financial needs
>>
>>10577959
I actually do like to hear why people are selling. It's somewhat reassuring that people aren't trying to offload something they ruined quickly. It also makes the listing less impersonal and makes me want to buy more if there's some personality there.
>>
>>10578008
Seconding this, makes it much easier to decide on a purchase if you include some sizing/fit infor that isn't just stuff that you can gleam from lolibrary
>>
>>10577959
The only instance in which I think it can be useful is if the item didn't fit the expected/officially listed measurements, in which case I think it's very helpful to mention so that others don't buy it from you making the same mistake (like a shoe fitting a size too small, or a dress fitting way too baggy/small when the minimum measurements were within your range).

Anything else is unnecessary.
>>
>>10577959
I like it when people do this! As another anon said, it just gives me some confidence that it’s a real person selling who hasn’t just trashed a dress

But I struggle to assume that my big ass is a medium. Is this accurate?
>>
>>10578195
Asian sizing is usually 1-2 sizes smaller than western. Don't worry about the letters. But I wouldn't just go off of your pants size. Get measurements for your bust, waist, hips, and shoulders too.

I'm new, is Nameless Poem considered ita? I was thinking of getting it but don't want to be posted here
>>
>>10578829
It's a fine dress. Just make sure you're wearing a nice headdress, a-line petticoat, good legwear and shoes. I find that usually it's not the dress, but the way you coord them that makes it "ita". Sure, there are some terrible dresses out there but if you get Nameless Poem from a legitimate source (whether it's secondhand, reseller, from the actual shop via SS), you shouldn't have any problem.

Also, don't worry about the ita thread. Stop browsing if you get self-conscious while going through it. It's just a joke thread with some "badly dressed" people with a range of silly reasons being from the wearer is too fat, the colour doesn't match to a tee.. etc. I would also suggest keeping the worn photos to yourself and not create a public presence, if you're paranoid about being posted.

Just enjoy the fashion :)

I think it's either people who don't know what they're doing or people trying to maximize range in potential buyers? Mostly I think it's the latter though cause damn I've seen some people sell things CHEAP.
>>
Does anyone else just avoid buying from fat sellers on lm and try to mostly buy from jp? You can tell from their profile pics. I haven’t had issues doing this but sometimes i miss out on nice things I want because the seller is large.

Sometimes i really wonder how they squeezed into that size S/older item...and I don’t want stretched clothing.
>>
Anyone with Demonia Kera 08s, how do they fit? From what I've seen online it seems best to size down, but it's hard to get a straight answer from people. Also, any alternatives to them?
>>
>>10579058
Many fatties sell things that didn't fit them so they either saw it and knew it was too small if they're smart or if they're borderline standard sizes they likely tried it on and knew it wouldn't zip so nothing got stretched if they didn't try to squeeze into it. You can usually tell from photos and you can always ask for more pictures. The one I'd definitely say avoid is idiotinkorean cause she seems like the type to squeeze herself in and she is always doing those annoying "urgent" sales at prices that don't make sense for the market and never sell unless it's really desirable.
>>
>>10579061

>>
>>10579060
They fit just fine. I have pointy (shoe shaped) feet and they don't crush my feet or hammer them when I walk or anything which is a struggle with round toes like that. I would recommend getting your normal size unless you have long toes or maybe wide feet.

>>10579061
To add to that: If someone is selling something with shirring and they write something like "it goes up until x cm" without mentioning a minimum measurement as well, I usually get suspicious and assume they're a fatty. Also anything on fat dress forms is a non brainer.
>>
>>10579060
I think they're...fine. Mine slide around a little but the insoles are so hard that I keep cushiony inserts in, and that makes them fit perfectly. I wouldn't size down.

>>10579058
I understand your line of thinking but I've bought unshirred and cutsew items from noticeably fat or chubby sellers and they're never stretched out. On the other hand, I bought a small skirt from a "normal" weight seller and found that someone had sewn in a clasp to make the waistband bigger, which looks like shit on my waist so I'm pretty cranky about that

>>10578853

>>10578945
I think it's that a lot of people can't be assed to deal with raised shipping costs or going out unnecessarily during the pandemic. If it's not 2010 sweet or taobao crap the market is definitely dry, you're right.

I do too, especially if the item is being shown on a plus size form. Points for honesty, I guess.

>>
I enjoy the clothes that liz lisa and axes femme and emily temple cute and similar brands put out (I know these are different substyles please don't attack me I like them all separately) but I'm too small to fit into any of them. are there any petite j-fashion brands that sell cute shit of reasonable price and quality?
>>
>>10580418
You can try Emily Temple’s sister brand for kids, Shirley Temple. ETC is already fairly petite though LL and Axes Femme now skew bigger compared to before.
>>
>>10580418
Their older stuff is extremely small and there is a lot on the used market for extremely cheap!

have you been trying to buy new? I am also a petite woman and the only thing smaller than me would be a child, but older liz lisa fits perfect
>>
what's the sizing like on the polyester ap socks? I have thick calves and don't want them to be all shitty and stretched out. would be the otk or utk for someone 5'4" with normal proportions?

I've been eyeing up pic related for a while but I was wondering if Lumiebre parasols and umbrellas are worth the price. I know AP and Baby have their own umbrellas and am wondering if those are comparable to Lumiebre or are cheaper for a reason.
>>
>>10580527
AP and Baby umbrellas are definitely cheaper for a reason. Nowhere close to as sturdy as Lumiebre.
>>
>>10580527
Lumiebre parasols are amazing, I really recommend. I've had mine for I think 6 years both rain and shine and it's still very sturdy.

How long does Yamato shipping generally take to the US? "In transit" tells me nothing
>>
>>10580761
You need to wait until you get the UPS tracking number when it reaches the US (usually hits Anchorage first) for more detail. In general I've found it takes about a week, but it probably depends on where in the US you live.
>>
>>10580766
Ah UPS will be handling it then. That helps, thank you. I kept checking USPS and got concerned
>>
>>10580773
da but yeah UPS is Yamato's US counterpart, once it reaches US shores there will be a 'detail' arrow tab you can click towards the bottom of the page and that will have the number for the UPS tracking

Do replicas exist for this shoe? Sorry for being shameful gulls

lol, mood anon. i wouldn't buy reps but i want them too. they came out when i was a teenage poorfag working at a movie theatre, and now that i'm an adult i yearn for them so much.

There is a dress I regret selling. I have it in another colorway. Is it weird to ask the person I sold it to if they'd be interested in a trade for a different color?
>>
>>10580761
Used to take a week, suddenly started taking up to two weeks for Cali. I switched to fedex and not only is it cheaper but arrived in 3~5 days
>>
>>10580920
>make a sockpuppet account on some platform they use
>post random shit to look legit over the course of a few weeks
>message them offering double the price you sold it for
>hopefully she doesn't care about feedback
>send it to an address you can access but they don't know is yours, like a P.O. box
>???
>profit

in all seriousness that would be really weird imo
>>
>>10580921
nayrt but that's worrisome. I noticed it started taking a day or two longer (packages shipped Yamato usually got to me in 4-5 days), but I didn't know it was 2 weeks for California now.

That I won't sell to accounts without feedback or allow attempts at shadow bids/subverting auctions.

I want to get into lolita, but I'm unsure what style to go for. I know that I don't like pastel vomit, and sorta like sweet-classic, old-school, and classic styles, but I'm fairly unsure

what style do I seem to gravitate towards, based on the dresses I like?

classic with some random old school thrown in.

Anyone used seamail for jp to usa? I tried it for the first time. It has been 1.5 months since it shipped out. Is it just gonna randomly show up at my door or will it end up going to usps and then I’ll get an update?
>>

For me, they leave a note on my door if I’m not home and I have to go pick it up from the post office. Bring that piece of paper with you, btw.
>>
>>10581298
looks like old school/classic mix? Honestly I find categorizing to be unimportant unless you're a strict gothic or pastel vomit fan. A lot of the other styles blend well together. Just buy dresses you like and build your wardrobe around it, eventually you'll find what style you wear most often.

>>10581298

when sending money for a LM order through Paypal, are you supposed to choose "friends and family" or "goods and services"? I chose the second option since I am paying for an item but since the seller gets a small fee is it rude to select that option?

To those with experience ordering from Meta, particularly their more recent dresses.

So I recently pre-ordered this JSK from Meta, in plus size, but I'm freaking out that it's going to be too loose. I am actually slim, but have a 97 cm bust (hourglass figure) and most Lolita dresses don't fit around that area.

However this one has loads of shirring. I have seen actually fat/plus size lolitas try on other plus size JSKs from meta with almost the same measurements and they fitted well, while still looking kind of tight, so idk if the dress will be too loose or just right.

Do meta dresses run bigger/smaller/true to size? Is their shirring really that stretchy? I had an Innocent World OP that was fully shirred, with almost the same bust measurments and it was way too tight.

Meta have told me that I am able to change the size in the order before it is shipped.

Regular size bust is: 86cm - 120cm
Plus size bust is: 94cm-140cm

Should I go with the regular size or plus size?

me retarded plz halp
>>
>>10582408
no it's not rude to use goods and services. it is against LM and Paypal TOS to use f+f for a transaction, and if you use f+f you will have no purchase protection should you get scammed.
>>
I placed an order with Bodyline last week and chose Paypal payment, and it didn't bring up a window to pay and it's been sat with a pending status since. There hasn't been a payment on my account, nor a confirmation email. Does anyone know what's up with this?
>>
>>10582440
I'm roughly the same size, and I buy their regular size dresses. I find there tends to be a lot of room in them.
>>
Whats the consensus on Lolita Wardrobe? They don't seem to be as hated as DI but I don't know if I should trust them, how are they shipping/customer service wise?
>>
>>10582779
just learn how to use a shopping service dumbass.
>>
>>10582779
looks like they're just a taobao reseller? Taobao will ship directly to certain countries and even if you don't live in one of those places, do the math and a SS is probably cheaper
>>
Is it looked down upon to remake waist ties/removable items from dresses into accessories?
>>
Has anyone ever purchased from Kitty Wood Designs? I purchased an item and have not received any communication from the seller. I was wondering if anyone had any feedback from them. They also go by katticake on instagram and no response there either. Thank you in advance.
>>
>>10582769
Thank you, anon. If you don't mind me asking, what is your bust circumfrence and what regular size dresses do you have?

Do they just fit nicely without being too tight?
>>
>>10583002
only by retards. they're your clothes, do whatever you want, just don't whine if the resale value goes down as a result. I've made waist ties into headbows before.
>>
>>10583102
NAYRT but the regular size says 120cm but usually meta's full back shirring can go to 130 comfortably. you'll be fine with the regular one, but I don't think the plus would be too big either, just unstretched.

btw, the plus size is also longer, good if you're tall.
>>
>>10583128
Thanks for that. Yeah I'm aware of the length. It's 103 cm long. I'm not tall lol, so I'm leaning towards the regular.

I used to own this OP from Innocent World. It was fully shirred and the listed bust measurements were 85cm-119cm, but I had to sell it because it got too small.

The measurements are nearly the same as the Meta JSK (bar 1cm) so that's part of why I thought regular size would be too small, initially.

I guess IW just runs a lot smaller, especially the older dresses.
>>
>>10583139
Even full shirred IW is still cut for smaller people (the shoulders, the bust darts etc) so it still isn't a very good option for plus sizes. Alongside that even with items like partially shirred skirts, their supposed max measurements are rarely accurate, usually at least 6cm smaller because the elastic tends to be very tight.
>>

Have any of you ordered secondhand from France before? I did two weeks ago and my package hasn't moved an inch and I'm curious if this is normal for France post.

Also, what are your fav places to order lace topped OTK/UTKs from?
I'm thinking of ordering from Meta but don't want to pay that much for shipping just for socks if there's a better option.
>>
>>10585928
Do you mean lace topped ones?
AP/Btssb us stores ocassionaly have some in stock. Outside of that you're probably better off just ordering online.

I entered a reservation lottery for BTSSB recently, but hadn't recieved any updates on whether or not my entry was picked. About how long does it take them to let people know they won? Do they send out rejection emails, or do I just wait indefinitely?
>>
>>10586863
I also entered and haven't heard anything. No one else on /cgl/ seems to either for the embroidery release. Baby does ghost you if you don't win however.
>>
>>10587097

Follow up stupid question: looks like I'm getting the second release of the embroidery dress. But the email says i need to let them know if I want to keep my order? What does that mean?
>>
>>10587250
I just replied saying I want to keep the second release items. I imagine due to the release date, they're afraid of people forgetting about them and then backing out.
>>
Does USPS say status not available if your package hasn't been scanned yet?
>>
Ok. I ordered from Meta last night and the auto reply says “ If your payment is not confirmed in a day, your order will be canceled.”
But other parts of their website indicate that their customer service department is closed on the weekend. Is my order getting cancelled? Do they mean only during business days? I’m nervous.

are the bodyline rocking horse shoes true to size (European size)? I'm a size 38 but it would be so disappointing if I finally get them and they're too small

I always heard they run very thin and small. You may want to go a size up, unless you have particuarly thin and dainty feet.
