thinking of getting the moitie placemat to use as a full desk mousepad for my PC setup but i'm worried it'd be too slippery
>>
>>10565054
I don't think that would work
>>
>>10565054
It's way too small to be a full desk mousepad. Maybe you could fit a keyboard on it if it's tenkeyless or smaller
>>
>>10565054
Most deskmats aren't smooth at all, they have a bit of a bite for the mouse to track, this item reads more like a dining table placemat.
>>

You can't see it in the OP photo because it's on his left hand but in the video, does anyone know what the ring is Mana's wearing with the long rectangular black gem? Is it Moitie?

>>10565358 here and since I also wear gothic I thought I'd reply here too.
>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
Mostly new releases as the secondhand market has been very dry recently.
>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
Nowadays I mostly buy MMM, both new and secondhand, though I recently found an interest in both Atelier Boz and Sheglit. I really love the Isaac Jacket OP but I don't really have anything that would match it in my wardrobe so I'm still on the edge about buying it.
>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?
A year ago from the western market. Maybe two months ago from the JP market.
>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
A month ago, Candelabra Rose Ring from MMM. Eagerly waiting for those Side Flare Pants as I also wear EGA.
>>
>>10565351
>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
Mostly older releases, though I buy 3-4 new main piece releases per year.

>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
Mostly Moitie and Sheglit

>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?
Western - this week, an accessory. JP - about 3 weeks ago, a JSK.

>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
I bought some of the new Moitie novelties last week, as I'm in the salon. Besides that, I bought a new Sheglit JSK last August.
>>
>>10565351
>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
Older releases, I'm really not a fan of neo-Moitié and I haven't been impressed enough to pay full price for any offerings from gothic brands in the last 18 months.
>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
In order of frequency my top 3 would probably be BPN (my blouse and short jacket collection), Atelier Pierrot, and H.naoto
>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase from the western market? The JP market?
Western market would have been over a year ago, jp market November.
>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
Years ago, maybe 2016
>>
>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
Always searching for old stuff, but Im at the point where I can focus on new a lot more.

>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
Moitie mostly. I dont like Atelier Pierrot much and sheglit is boring. Boz is interesting though so I may look at them more soon.

>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?
I bought some stuff on LM in Jan, and recently I bought a dress off CC.

>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
Last week, bought Moitie from presale.

I buy new and secondhand equally

>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
Moitie and Boz. Moitie accessories and Boz main pieces lately, but I'm hoping Moitie puts out some more main pieces soon.

>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?
A couple weeks ago on the western market and a few days ago on the JP market. There were months when the market was super dry but it picked up a lot in the last month for me.

>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
I pre-ordered the Carol OP from Boz a couple weeks ago.
>>
>>10565351
>>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
I keep an eye on both and buy anything I'm interested in.

>>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
MmM, then equally Sheglit/AtePie/Enchantilly

>>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?
Western last year?, Japanese last month. I get most of my secondhand gothic from the Japanese market.

>>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
MmM Nun Mini OP in the MTO.
>>
>>10565351
>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?

Mostly second hand, but since I started working full time I’m able to splurge on new more often now.

>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?

Still Moitie, though I have some Boz and AtPie, both of which I love. I also like BTSSB’s oldschool gothic, sue me. AATP is trash though

>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?

Western market - bought a Moitie skirt in comm sales this month. JP market - a big CC haul at the end of last year of mostly AtPie, Boz and Miho Matsuda

>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?

I just preordered Boz’s Carol OP so I’m super excited for that. Hoping to make an Antique Beast order soon when she reopens too!
>>

classic thread OP here and I also-also wear gothic! Here's mine:

>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
I'm looking to buy up a lot of new stuff, mostly because I don't think the older items I'm into are ever going to fit me and newer items have more generous sizing (88cm bust seems difficult for a lot of old Moitie, and my favorite old cuts are 82cm bust OP's)

>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
I've been buying tons of Sheglit lately.

>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of gothic from the western market? The JP market?
A couple weeks ago for western and I honestly can't remember for JP, it was probably pretty long ago now.

>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
I snapped up the restock of the Sheglit Briar Rose dress last week! Was really happy to see that as I regretted not buying it the first time.

Tried to get the teacup, as expected it was an impossible task. The wunderwelt site just crashed immediately as it went on sale and I only managed to keep it in my cart for a while and couldn't make it in time to pay because of the crashing. Congrats to those who got it, it's a gorgeous item.

>Which sorts of gothic items are you mostly into purchasing currently- collecting older releases you missed out on, or new releases?
I prefer newer releases because i can't be bother to deal with how dry the market is
>What gothic brand's items do you buy most often these days (either new or secondhand)?
Moitie and atelier pierrot.
>When was the last time you made a secondhand purchase of classic from the western market? The JP market?
I would say almost a year ago for the west market and half a year ago for the jp market. Most of the stuff that really appeals to me tends to be really sought after and too expensive for me.

>When was the last time you bought a new gothic release?
in november. I've slowed down on buying lolita because i work less hours and have less money. I am also focusing on getting blouses and accessories rather than main pieces and so far i am not feeling anything.

Europe here.

Various rings made out of pewter, sterling silver, stainless steel (good for everyday wear).

Part of them bought at jewelry fairs (best way to find handmade single unique designs or very short series or from more exotic places and various natural gemstones) other from European alt brands Alchemy Gothic (well known UK brand, they come with Svarowski crystals, mostly made out of pewter), Et Nox (Germany, mostly silver and stainless steel). I'm currently looking for vintage pieces in local jewellery shops.

Brand to avoid at all cost: Restyle(PL) - items made from low quality materials for sold for high price

You may also look into "ethnic" style likie Tibetan, Tuareg, Berber, Arab etc if you are looking for a single piece that will add some "stand out" quality to your outfit.

Sometimes you can find interesting rings even in places like biker shops if you are into skull motive. I just found picrel looking for rings.

Most of my jewelry collection is necklaces. I have skinny wrists and fingers, and I fidget a lot, so rings and bracelets tend to go missing.

Here are most of my better pieces. I have pieces from Néant Glass, Macabre Gadgets, Alchemy England, Arcana Obscura, Killstar (not good quality but was on sale), vintage, and Moi-même-Moitié. The MmM necklace and choker were DIY'd from a pair of earrings.

I like to window shop on Etsy too. There's some cool small jewelry shops I can list if someone is interested.

Off topic but this pic gave me chills! I used to own such a pearl bracelet as a child and was thinking about it's whereabouts just the other day.

>>10568530
I have a few pieces of Motie jewelry and like most of brand jewelry it's hardly worth the price tag. Especially my bracelet is comically cheap quality but I got it second hand for low bucks many years ago, so not much regret.

If you go for brand you should definitely take a look at Baby and AatP, my pieces from them are by far the best quality of all.

Vivienne Westwood has some pieces that work well with Gothic.

And if you can get a hold of it on the secondhand market I suggest Suppurate System (picrel sorry for the low quality). The items were hand made, that's why there are mixed reviews but all the stuff I saw in rl was beautiful. I forever regret not getting something while they were still active. I've read somewhere that they reopened but with a different name, I really don't know.

I don't have any worn/IRL pics on me but I like Necrosarium a lot. I bought from her when she was new because it reminded me a bit of Supperate System and still have the pieces today. They've held up quite well for how delicate they are, and after another thread reminded me about her I purchased some new pieces, and her craftsmanship on the resin polymer roses has gotten way better. I think she also does custom colors.

>>
>>10573050
Just a one-off review, but I bought this recently and based on the experience, I would absolutely buy from Foxtrot again. Fully lined, no stray threads, heavy fabric with nice drape, good zipper, nice accent bits, overall feels as nice as any of my Boz. The sleeves run a bit short, but that's a common experience for me.
>>
>>10573265
Ehh...the fact that you think a dress that is maybe 100$ at most is like boz puts your whole review in the garbage. Its fine to accept that the cheaper items are cheaper.

>>10571362
Often these releases use a lot of weird costumey elements and use cheap trims/buttons. The quality of the poly is also low, but wearable.

>>
>>10574977
Dumb question but what does the 9.5cm 'width' refer to? The waistband length?
>>
>>10575392
I think it's the amount that the fabric can stretch, I believe. The word that translated to "width" can also mean "stretch", and this skirt says it's made of stretch fabric. That leads me to believe that the waist measurement is based on the corset panel but it can stretch an extra 9.5cm (especially since it's the same for both sizes)

>>10575397
Thanks! Really glad they give an idea of the corset sizing.

I mean, maybe, but I've seen them in old-timey maid outfits too so I assume they're one of those things that just both happen to derive from the same period style.

Like how Orthodox Jewish women wear the same lace headdresses we do because they're both based on the same 1800's Russian headdress styles.
>>
>>10575419
>Like how Orthodox Jewish women wear the same lace headdresses we do
They do? I’ve only seen orthodox Jewish men wear brown wigs or sometimes head wraps. And if you’re talking about maxipad headdresses, they look nothing like 1800s Russian headdresses (kokoshnik). Can you explain?
>>
>>10574970
Mana-sama Nendoroid when?
>>
>>10575512
Yes, maxipad headdresses, not kokoshnik (worn with a wig, of course). Orthodox clothing rules essentially stem from establishment in the same time period... Initially they were meant to help Jews blend in with Russians at the time, but instead they just never changed. Or that was how my very-secular not-Orthodox family explained it to me, so; take with a grain of salt.

I don't know about in other countries' Orthodox communities, but in NYC you'll see them very commonly. This was the only potato picture I could find as an example, I don't want to be weird and try to take a photo of the accessory shop in my neighborhood.

>>

No.

Pls educate me, I am a lost newfriend
>>
>>10577181
kuro sweet is all-black-everything sweet. bittersweet is other colors printed on a black background.
>>
>>10577197
I don't think kuro or shiro have to be sweet. It's just all black (or for shiro all white) coords.
>>
>>10577205
yeah, I was only answering in the context they asked about. in general it just means black or white, so you see shiro gothic for all-white gothic coords. kuro gothic would be kind of redundant because it's associated with black by default. and I don't see kuro/shiro used much in classic, maybe because it focuses more on looking historical rather than... conceptual? not sure how to best phrase that.
>>
>>10577167
Ooh I like this idea thank you anon!
>>
>>10577197
>>10577226
Ahh I gotcha, thanks anon. I was confused because I know kuro means black and in the other thread someone was saying bittersweet is just black with sweet and someone else was arguing otherwise.
>>
>>10576068
No it runs a bit small. It's made for petite and short girls, so add length if you don't want to look ero.
>>
>>10576068
>>10577275
In my personal experience of buying four main pieces, they actually run a couple of cm larger than listed. When I've gotten pieces made for my actual measurements, it's noticeably too big. I generally size down 2 or so cm from my measurements, and then it fits perfectly. I have heard from others that it can be a bit mixed, though, and atleast one person I know requested their actual measurements and it was too tight. But maybe they measured themselves wrong.

>>
When it comes to old size 2 / 82cm bust Moitie with fully shirred waistband/neckline, about how many cm give do they usually have? Does it heavily depend on the piece? I never really know how to predict old shirred Moitie.
>>
>>10594081
The shirring is to get it over your shoulders or hips so don't expect it to fit
>>
>>10594112
Damn, I was hoping it could at least accommodate an 86cm bust but I guess I'll have to stick to full shirring and newer Moitie. Thanks though!
>>
What are the chances for the new Moitie EGA pants going on sale later in the season?
>>
>>10594081
It depends on the piece. Their old "82cm" bust wasn't a particularly tight fit on many of their items, I haven't yet found a Moitié jsk that's tight on that measurement. There's definitely older pieces like the cross front chiffon dress that actually look better on a slightly larger bust and are fine up to around 86-88cm.
>>
What'd you get from the Moitie drop, gulls? I almost bought the shirred OP for summer but I want to see if they release the short version instead.
>>
>>10597519
I didn’t think there was anything too exciting honestly. Might get another pair of wristcuffs.
>>
>>10597519
Black x Blue wrist cuffs. I’m starting to love the way black wrist cuffs looks when it covers the Apple Watch.
I don’t know if I really want the coffin lace ribbon JSK, it looks a bit bland but maybe that’s a good thing?
I’ve been thinking about the apron a lot but I still can’t decide if I want to buy the apron for daily use. I’m a bit worried it might survive frequent washing or not.
>>
>>10597991
Honestly I feel the same way about the JSK. I just wish there was something, any kind of detail on the bodice section, OR that the tailoring of the overall dress was better. As it is I don't feel it's quite worth the pricetag- if it were retailing for 25000-28000¥ then maybe.

But the colorways I like are sold out in size 13 anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter. I could probably fit into a 9 but I'd like just a little more wiggleroom in the waist for my blouse.
>>
>>10597995
That is definitely a much more reasonable price for the JSK.

Are you buying any other brands? I’m looking for other stuff to buy until Moitie releases something new. I recently fell in love with MRCorset for their cutsews and tempted to try Marble.
>>
>>10598115
I've been buying some BPN, some Miho Matsuda, but mostly older stuff and secondhand. I do like Marble but I feel like their good pieces are fewer between. Other than Moitie accessories the brand I've been buying most new is Sheglit.

I've been eying more abilletage and Na+ though, they can be a bit pricy for what they are and more gothic-punk at times than lolita but they have a lot of great workable tops, especially cutsews. I've been quite impressed with abilletage's quality so far.
>>
>>10598115
Second the other anon I buy a lot of BPN, Miho Matsuda, some FRILL, Antique Beast, and Marble.

Also, anyone know any blouses with embroidered ruffle collars or anything with a design there? I'm trying to modify one I got as a gift since it's a bit damaged with a few small holes there and need ideas.
>>

It looks cute on Misako. Night caps are a weakness of mine, so I'll probably go for it if they don't sell out too quickly.

I've been a fan of Mana and similar artists since 13yo. I dress quite alt generally but don't have anything EGA or EGL.
I don't know where else to shop for EGA clothes that would look flattering on a man besides Moitie and Boz. I really like Mana's style and wanna wear those more ouji aristocrat coords. Lolita doesn't really interest me, unless it's tea length and very gothic. I really liked Moitie's bat corset skirt but it's not long enough.
The problem is that these brands are extremely inaccessible. Can't find anything on LM either. I dunno what to do.
>>
>>10610945
>Lolita doesn't really interest me
Wtf are you doing looking for clothes in lolita spaces then? Of course you can't find anything you like on lm. Stop looking at lolita and start looking at gothic and aristocratic brands.
>>
>>10570311
Maybe stupid question, but does Atelier Boz ship globally/to the US? Went to check out, but it doesn't look like it lmao
>>
>>10610964
yes. I have not bought from there myself, so unfortunately I can't tell you more.
>>
>>10610967
Oh, thank you! My ADHD brain tends to skim over those messages, oops. Time to figure it out I guess.
>>
>>10610968
If you are >>10610945, regarding Moitie - they also ship internationally via the website Wunderwelt Fleur.
>>
>>10610970
No, but thank you for wanting to be helpful anyways! I wondered if maybe AB was hosted through another site, but I didn't see it listed on WW or Rakuten or anything. It only seems to accept Japanese addresses through their website - I might try to shoot them a message about it somewhere.
>>
>>10610975
I was wondering the same thing anon, so if you figure it out do mention back in the thread

It may be email order only? But I was doubting that they could communicate in English and I feel google Japanese isn't really a good way to go about a purchase...
>>
>>10610993
Yeah lmao I just sent their customer service an email and asked if they had a guide, which I also provided an extra Google translated into Japanese version of. I will post here if they reply with anything! They also posted in English on their Twitter in that poll mentioned up thread, so maybe they have someone there who can speak English and would answer? If customer service doesn't get back to me with help, I might try there or give up and use a shopping service.
>>
>>10611015
A girl I follow on Instagram did a review of their lucky pack and she ordered it directly from them. Didn't sound that difficult.
>>
>>10611015
Eagerly awaiting the response! Thanks anon!
>>
Tangentially related to Boz, but do newer releases of their items actually have larger measurements, or is the difference between the lolibrary listings and what I see listed for the same dresses on their website just them listing the min/max instead of only the minimum measurements, like a lot of brands used to?

i would really love for the apron to have black ribbon on it rather than white. I just want moitie to make a black blouse with white lace then they can have my money. I can't believe i am saying this, but i really love a new print as well.

Tell me more about those gothic and aristocratic secondhand sites that occasionally have MmM and Boz that aren't also lolita spaces
>>
>>10610957
Are you the same newfag from the oldschool thread that claimed there were no ankle length coords in lolita
>>
>>10611995
Just because a lolita brand creates something, doesn't mean that it's lolita.

https://egl.livejournal.com/19327336.html

You fucking newfags need to lurk more and stop pretending like you know shit. Livejournal hardly prunes it's old posts. Likely chance is there is already information out there for you to educate your dumb selves.
>>
just now getting into gothic lolita after 12 years lurking. experienced with design, alternative fashion, and fashion in general so not worried about ita coord being a possibility (unless it's deliberate oldschool kinda thing). have accrued a good amount of basics from bodyline, taobao, and jp mercari.
just scored this as my first brand dress, it was a grail.
fucking terrified to post a coord pic when it arrives.
good get?
>>
>>10612050
Congrats you're gonna be a bodyline taobao ita
>>
>>10611905
No one said anything about secondhand sites or mmm/boz. Literally only said look into aristocratic brands. Please learn to read without adding your own assumptions.

Hey y'all! Same anon who was asking about ordering from Atelier Boz. Their ordering system is a little wonky lmao, but customer service sent me a guide on how to order! Gonna dump the screenshots they sent me since >>10611149 also expressed interest.

If you're a Lolita and can't read "add to cart" or any katakana, you're clearly new and should figure it out on your own.
>>
>>10613338
Funny. I tried doing all this just the other day. (I got creative and really annoyed trying to check out) I think some of the cards are still not accepted from overseas.

Thanks for providing the how to instructions. One day too late for me though, because I ended up just buying the short version off a second hand website.
>>
Just learn Japanese lmao
>>
>>10613585
>>10613726
They want you to put a random Japanese name/address in instead of your own international address on the initial ordering page - it's not exactly an intuitive design or one that only requires common sense lmao

>>10613643
That's possible! I'm gonna try one more time with my card, but if it doesn't work, maybe that's the issue and I should just use a shopping service. Usually my credit union calls me if there is suspicious activity (I was actually waiting to get that call desu but never got it). They need to uhhh change this manner of ordering. Makes no sense. Just allow international addresses to be put in; I don't feel like that's complicated to add.

Does anyone have any of those photo collages of cute Asian hair cuts? People used to post them ask the time back when I frequented this board (6-10 years ago), but I don't know where they were from our how to find them.

Haven’t bought yet but I’ve been looking at this person’s work and thinking of doing something w it http://bitingbatcollection.com/
>>
>>10615237
why are they wearing a blouse that doesnt even close around their breasts then using their hand to try to conceal that
>>
>>10615237

>>10615246
It gets weirder the more you look. what's up with the neck/chin area?
>>
>>10615246
Don’t ask me lol I didn’t even notice it until now
>>
>>10615237
Aside from the weird not-wearing-a-bra-and-wearing-a-blouse-that-doesn't-even-close-over-the-breasts, this looks really cheap anon. You could make something similar and much better quality super easily.
>>
>>10615263

>>
>>10615237
is this a selfpost? this looks like absolute garbage. this is like an unironic cross that an old biker lady would wear. (and that's probably who's actually wearing it in the pic)
>>
>>10615293
the girl is not an old lady, she looks like some edgy "goth" blm sjw pronoun/pronounself though. Which also works.
>>
>>10615251
Likely a scar from surgery
>>
Any thoughts or reviews on the brand MR? Their cutsew prices seem quite cheap despite all the details, compared to similar brands like abilletage, but it looks like most of their stuff is still made in Japan so I'm curious about the quality.
>>
>>10615237
Why are her tits so low?? Wtf
>>
>>10622239
they are big and she is not wearing a bra

>>10615251
it is just a crease on her neck, it usually happens to fat people, but even normal people and young people get it.

I think it’s meant to be worn with another mask underneath? I don’t think this see-through fabric would make sense otherwise, since Covid could walz right in.
>>
Okay, was anyone going to tell me that most of the recent Artherapie bags are replicas of vintage Jean-Paul Gaultier? Anyone eyeing an Artherapie bag, check if there's a JPG bag secondhand, it will probably be similar/better price and better quality.

recs for a gothic appropriate messenger bag? i know any plain black leather one will work, but i wanted to know if anyone had any good ones.

Order from them directly because Moitie is hard to find secondhand, or spend years looking for something you want secondhand.
>>
>>10610259
I feel like 15 years from now we will love this and it'll be really hard to find
>>
>>10627979
God, a generic pretty house/architecture print with a murder ocurring if you look closely would be so good. So many other dresses already have cutesy hidden details, my body needs something edgier like this.
