TL;DR:
>please don't take me lolita
>>
>>10560805
To be fair, I don't think that's actually against the rules, but honestly, I feel kinda bad for her. I hope she can get help cause this reads as pretty delusional.
>>
>>10560809
I mean LaceMarket isn't Lolita, also you can also enjoy the pieces you already have? I haven't bought a NEW piece in years, and I haven't bought a new to me dress in about 3-4 months. I find it's actually really enjoyable to do new coords, and find new angles for coording it.
>>
>>10560810
i'd feel bad if she didn't regularly subject buyers or sellers to her mentally ill ramblings or have ppl too afraid to leave negative feedback in fear of inciting her suicidebait. there are plenty of mentally ill lolitas, me incl. but most of them are together enough to not thrust the responsibility of preventing a death upon randos in sales posts
>>
>>10560811
samefag sorry but i'm p sure her shopping addiction is out of control to the point that she cannot afford any new pieces without having to sell another dress
>>
>>10560805
I fail to understand why she thinks any of this is my problem. How the hell does she think the ability to delete and recreate listings interfere with enjoyment of lolita as if someone is taking it away from her. Her mind is so fucked up and there's nothing I can do to help
>>
>>10560812
Tbh she needs to take some time off the internet and focus on fixing her Ed and health. Obviously I don’t know her IRL but being online all the time and posting obvious body checks can’t be good for her
>>
>>10560820
Maybe institutionalize herself until she’s at a healthy BMI, she looks like she’s knocking on deaths door
>>
>>10560805
So stop doing the thing that night get you banned then
>>
>>10560822
Is this the one ana chan chick with tons of brand that can never seem to put together a cohesive coord?
>>
>>10560829
Yes
>>
>>10560829
Samefag but she doesn’t actually have that much brand, she buys things and takes pictures before immediately selling again
>>
>>10560823
is it a bannable offense though? it was kind of funny to watch her desperately re-list items constantly
>>
>>10560832
if it isn't, then suicide baiting in PMs certainly should be.
>>
>>10560812
Her brain is probably not functioning/deteriorating from lack of nutrients. This actually happens in severe anorexics. She clearly fits that bill.
To be honest, the mods should ban her pending her getting help and being more stable. Maybe that will give her the luck in the ass she needs to get help if all she has is lolita.
>>
>>10560805
alright which one of y’all finally reported her?
>>
>>10560837
Not me, I thought her schizo listings were fucking hilarious and it was fun to see if you could snag something at one of her desperation price drops
>>
>>10560833
....she was suicide baiting in pms???
>>
>>10560839
Did you ever actually get a good deal? most of the things I’ve seen her post have horrible markup even with her supposed price reducing
>>
>>10560806
Wow this is pathetic.
No one should be buying based on their ability to sell. It's her own fault for consuming so much that she needs to rely on others buying her stuff.
>>
>>10560806
"wah if I can't keep consooming I'm not in the fashion anymore" literal insanity, just wear the fucking dresses
>>
>>10560809
>inb4 newfag

Sorry haven't kept up with her, who is she? What is she doing? Just re-listing stuff non-stop?
>>
>>10560884
Yeah she constantly relists stuff for some reason and she has a bad eating disorder thats fucking with her brain and judgement. Plus she can’t afford any of her brand and needs to sell stuff so she can keep buying her burando. She probably relists because no one wants to buy at full price. This is what i gleamed from looking at her ig. She needs to go to the hospital honestly.
I seen her cat ring be up like 3 times this past month on LM too.
>>
>>10560841
I had someone do this to me but it wasn’t her... I reported and the LM mods concluded that they didn’t need to do anything about it. I was actually pretty annoyed by that. She threatened to harm herself if I didn’t accept her Offer/shipping terms and the mods just kinda thought it was ok I guess?!?

Every interaction I’ve had with hanikami has been pleasant if not a bit tmi. She seems like a nice person but clearly has some stuff to work out. Not white knighting cause she’s grown and should be able to keep her issues from affecting others but at the same time I get no satisfaction from people shitting on someone who is so clearly not doing well.
>>
>>10560843
Do remember she’s in France, so her prices are actually about right for most stuff.
>>
>>10560859
I do that, but mostly because Lolita is a hobby for me, with a set portion of my money/time going into it. I’ve got too many dresses as it is, so I follow a one out before one comes in policy.
>>
>>10560859

No, people do this all the time. It's a way to keep your closet (and budget) under control so the number of dresses stays manageable.

This >>10560806 is, like someone said, pretty delusional, though. wtf, dresses aren't potato chips. Just re-wear the old dresses for the next 10 years, and if the old school revival followed by the pastel sweets revival is anything to go by, it'll come back into style again eventually.
>>
>>10560823
She also lists shit with "friends and family payment only" in the description. I've noticed it a few times
>>
>>10560894
I've bought stuff from her before unknowingly but it wasn't super expensive, below list price and it got here fine.
It's sad to see her going on like this, she's clearly ill. If she doesn't get help she looks like she could really die any moment.
>>
>>10560944
I can understand European people doing that though. I know multiple people who got scammed by Americans, who would let their creditcard company withdraw their payment to PayPal once their stuff had arrived. Instead of putting the buyers account in the negative, PayPal withdraws the money from the sellers account or puts the seller’s account in the negative. (Also after the seller had already won the initial dispute.) PayPal’s seller protection doesn’t protect you against creditcard claims. Sadly doing Friends and Family payment doesn’t fix this either, as they can still undo these payments through their creditcard companies.
>>
>>10560957
that's why u sell to people who have good feedback only and put it in your TOS. I refuse to sell to anyone who has less than ten
>>
>>10560958
In the case of a close friend, the person in question had a lot of good feedback. It wasn’t until they contacted comm members that they found out this person had a bad reputation. So I still wouldn’t fully trust someone’s LM feedback. I also know one instance were the sellers negative feedback to the buyer got changed by the LM mods, so the scammer remained with good feedback. After hearing so many horror stories from comm members, I rather don’t sell at all unless it is in person. But I can definitely understand the friends and family payment for more expensive items or non-refundable deposits.
>>
>>10560957
How does that have anything to do with europe tho
>>
>>10560805
GOOD, YOU'RE A PSYCHO
>>
>>10560829
Oh ew, I don't want a retard like her in this fashion
>>
WHy ThO??? None of her listings are lolita and she’s using the platform as if it’s fukin Etsy or some shit.
>>
>>10560990
report her, thats what I do
>>
>>10560990
Post a secret
>>
>>10560944
I bought a headbow from her once and had messaged her prior to confirm shipping costs and the total. She gave me a total that didn’t include fees, then after I won tacked on PayPal fees. When I disputed it she made some shitty comment saying I shouldn’t have bought the listing if fees were too much for me to afford and it really pissed me off. I disputed it and told her I could afford it just fine, but she was breaking both PayPal and LM ToS and I even messaged for a total that she lied about. After that I never considered buying from her again because she was such a rude bitch about it.
>>
>>10560999
That's such a shitty mindset holy f

I once had a seller with 100+ sales try the same on me and when confronted they acted like they totally forgot about it being against the rules or that it was a simple "oopsie don't know what happened there!" mistake.

I always wonder how many times they get away with it because buyers were too nice/shy to confront them.
>>
>>10561001
Let me guess, was it zoo999 or whatever? They did the same thing to me. When I refused to pay the fees they canceled the sale. I reported them to the mods and they messaged me all frazzled and upset that they broke the rules and were given a warning. They did the same thing to a couple friends of mine.
>>
>>10561004
No but thanks for the warning!

idk whether its more amusing or pathetic. "what do you mean my actions have consequences?!"

It was Hopeygal, they've since been banned for other offences.
>>
>>10560921
Nothing wrong with reselling old resell in order to help pay for new ones, but the problem is that that's her ONLY way to get new dresses. Also, the fact that she can't keep her consooming in check for long enough to accept that not everything is going to immediately sell no matter how many times she relists it
>>
>>10561001
I sometimes just ignore the fees. I know it's agains the TOS but it's such a small fee and if I don't care if it's an item I really want. People do it all the time and I just think that people (like me) wont care enough to report them.

Japonica makes you as a buyer pay the Paypal fees, and I don't think anyone reports them :/
>>
>>10561055
Apples to oranges- you pay the fee for SS because they aren’t actually selling you anything. It’s understandable that you’d cover the entire cost of the item they’re buying for you, not most of it and let the person doing you a service cover fees for something they aren’t even selling, which potentially could be higher than what they’re charging you to do the service in the first place.
>>
>>10561004
She's an idiot. How do people not understand the concept of listing their items at a price that'll also cover fees if they don't want to lose out of money so badly? I've seen her relisting shit all the time that I was so sure I had seen already had bids or sold, so that obviously explains why.
>>
>>10561055
see >>10561059 and stop enabling shitty sellers on LM. I'm not saying you should instantly report and ditch the purchase. A simple message saying you noticed they're charging fees they're not allowed to charge is enough.
>>
>>10561067
Another word of caution with that seller is that they’ll quote/charge the highest rate they can for shipping, then send the cheapest and pocket the rest. If you call them out on it they’ll refund you but if not you’re SoL. They need to be banned for scammy shit like that.
>>
>>10561059
PayPal fees are there because of credit card fees though. This is a normal cost for a business. An SS I used switched to only accepting PayPal so they could avoid paying cc fees (they used to accept cc directly).
Write it off in your taxes, don't pass it along to the buyer.
>>
>>10561106
>write it off on your taxes, don’t pass it along to the buyer

Ah yes, makers should also cover material costs on their own and not build those into the price. They’re tax write offs, after all.

If the SS didn’t charge these fees they’d be paying money out of their own pockets to cover the costs of the items buyers want. It would be retarded not to have the buyer pay for a service they’re choosing to use. Companies do write of CC fees but those fees are also built into the item prices- the only difference with an SS is that they’re transparent about it.
>>
>>10560807
honestly i find this whole situation kind of sad. she says that lolita is the only thing keeping her going, but is it really? she literally looks like she could collapse at any moment, and this hasn't changed at all

pic related, it's her in 2014. she actually looks like she's gotten worse
>>
>>10561111
I'm talking about cc fees. You know the ones that credit card companies make bank on. But keep defending corporations.
>>
>>10561126
Defending corporations? God you’re stupid

You’re expecting a small business to pay a fee on a product they aren’t selling. It would be totally fine and good to have them pay a PayPal fee on their commission, since that’s their business, but what you’re saying is that you should be able to buy whatever you want, not have to cover the cost of using the service to make that even possible, and expect others to pay for you. If there was a way to transfer the cost without fees then obviously that’s the way to go but regardless of what service they’re using there isn’t, and they shouldn’t be expected to pay a sellers fee on an item they aren’t actually selling.
>>
>>10561129
>A shopping service isn't a business so I-I mean they can do whatever they want
>>
>>10561115
oh....oh no. I have a similar ED to her and this pic was the motivation I needed to get my ass back on recovery...she still looks alive here, and so cute. I don't want to look dead in lolita like she does now. thanks for this anon.
>>
>>10561135
>claims they’re defending corporations
>not a single corporation mentioned/defended
>calls SS small businesses
>claims anon said they’re not businesses

Oh CGL, never change. Threads would die too fast if anyone had any reading comprehension.
>>
>>10561143
worst part is that the actual discussion was about LM sellers, not SS
>>
>>10561136
you can still definitely tell that she has an ED there, but it hadn't yet completely destroyed her body and aged her +10 years. the long term damage to her body must be absolutely insane, and I sincerely hope that she can get actual help instead of using her lolita shopping addiction as a substitute

recovery is hard anon, but I'm glad that this helps motivate you. a stranger on 4chan saying so probably doesn't mean much, but I believe in you
>>
>>10561115
This is really sad- if anything lolita has made it worse and hurt her more. It’s clear she just buys and wears stuff for quick attention photos online. If she put that money and energy towards recovery she could be so much happier and healthier, but she’s using it as an excuse. I can’t stand seeing her- she defends her ED so hard and glorifies it. She had no incentive to become better when she gets all the attention she wants from the online lolita community telling her how strong and brave she is for existing.
>>
>>10561171
It’s not that simple anon. Eating disorders are incredibly complex. I don’t appreciate her behavior but at the same time I don’t think it’s in anyone’s lane to be making comments about what she should or shouldn’t do. I’m sure she has a doctor who is well aware of her issues and there’s not really anything else to be done about it.
>>
>>10561185
>I’m sure she has a doctor
Doubt. Any doctor worth their salt would 51/50 her or whatever the French equivalent is.
>>
>>10561169
Yeah I'm probably at a similar point now to her in the pic above and the damage to my body is quite extensive already...I can barely eat due to the tooth damage alone. I really hope she gets actual help soon or I'm sure she'll be hospitalized again, or worse.

thanks, it does mean something to me regardless of whether its from an anon or not. recovery is basically impossible without support and every little bit counts.
>>
>>10558726
Have you gulls submitted to btb this week? I’m so excited by the recent revival let’s keep it going!!!!!
>>
>>10561143
Corporations would be the credit card company gouging everyone. SS is the middle man passing the buck claiming they aren't a business so they shouldn't have to pay the fee. It's not hard to understand.
>>
>>10561192
No SS claimed they aren’t a business and no one here did, either. What is being said is that they shouldn’t pay fees on what they aren’t actually offering- they should pay fees on where their profit comes from, the services, not off of the products they aren’t stocking.

>last thing I’ll say on it because the discussion is worthless
>>
>>10561193
Take it up with PayPal then.
>>
>>10561185
nayrt but frankly I agree with them. everyone has been enabling her for so long by going on and on about how "brave" she is and she sees it as validation for how shes living (both with her compulsive buying and reselling, and her obvious ed and glorifying behaviors surrounding it). i don't like seeing people here take joy in her misery, but i also dont like how everyone on the opposite end of the spectrum acts towards her. lolita is clearly hurting her more than its helping her, no matter how much she claims otherwise, and her social media audience AND doctors are clearly failing her with how long this has been a problem
>>
>>10561295
Hate to break it to you but an eating disorder is a lifetime illness. It’s not about her doctors, her comm, or even herself “failing”. Idk that she needs the ass pats but anyone who has ever stared down the barrel of an illness mental or physical that they know will never go away and still made the choice to try to go on about their lives has a certain strength and yes, bravery. She’s not there yet, but she’s clearly making an effort in the way she thinks is best, and that’s worth at least not going out of the way to attack or post her imho.
>>
>>10561335
Damn, so all the thousands of people around the world right now who have recovered from an eating disorder are just what, faking it? It's a mental illness that doesn't have to be lifetime if there is the right intervention and treatment. She's getting neither and her IG following absolutely does not help with that.

>making an effort in the way she thinks is best

Just because someone is doing what they think is best doesn't mean they're doing what is best. I really do wish the best for her, I don't hate her as a person or anything, but I do condemn those who clearly enable it. I'm sure she has a lot of people who genuinely care about her, they also need to step up and do what's best for her because her illness keeps her from doing it for herself.
>>
>>10561340
Nayrt but someone who has recovered from an ED is a lot like someone who has recovered from alcoholism, anon. The temptation and risk of relapse is always looming forever.

However I think this chick is coddled way too much. People feel so bad for her so they let her get away with being a total psycho that fucks over buyers. People are meaner about Lor and Tyler and they don't do anything shitty.
>>
>>10561362
I agree- I never said temptation wasn’t there, but the state she’s in doesn’t need to be lifelong nor a death sentence and at this rate it is. It does a massive disservice to people who have fought and recovered to write this off as “lol she can’t change it’s lifelong she’s doing her best”
>>
>>10561362
She's played the sympathy uwu sick babby chan cards really well. I envy her. I wish I could get away with being psycho and have people be like "she's trying her best!1!"
>>
>>10561188
I am just an anon but I support you in your recovery! Keep going!
>>
>>10561362
You are all very obsessed about a sick girl without even knowing whether she is in therapy or not. She simply is an annoying seller, like so many others, and coincidentally has the excuse of being brain-damaged for that.
Honestly, why are seagulls so hung up on that one ana-chan? Because she’s re-listing things a lot? Because she dresses bad? We have so many like that.
>>
>>10561378
Because it's the flavor of drama for the day. You got anything else?
>>
>>10561378
Because of her suicide baiting and constant bawwing on how everyone is so mean to her while simultaneously being nasty to so many others
>>
>>10560893
>>10560960
These mods fucking suck, honestly, people should come forward about how shady they are more often
>>
>>10561452
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it 1000 times, I’d be willing to pay a small percentage of sales to have a better lm experience.
>>
>>10561523
this.
>>
>>10561378
I will never respect anyone who desperately sells current pieces in order to afford the next popular trendy pieces, and does it in a perpetual cycle.

You're not in the fashion. You have a shopping addiction.

From the SJW perspective it's also not ethical for me to be buying and selling from an shopping addict, that's enabling them as well.
>>
>>10561538
Agreed. There's no point in being in this fashion if all you're doing is just selling and buying in a constant cycle. At that point, you don't really care about wearing it and you're just trying to get a temporary high out of it.
>>
Someone on btb called Jo the most famous European lolita. Is that really true?

I feel disappointed in my fellow European lolitas if this person is the one representing us.
>>
>>10562193
I didn't even know she was euro, shows how famous she supposedly is
>>
>>10562193
Nah pretty sure she bought subscribers at one point. She only gets like 350 views on her videos with 5400 subscribers.

Also she has no following ok instagram whatever. The only person that thinks she's influential or famous is herself
>>
>>10562193
She isn't. She has some YouTube subscribers that don't watch her videos that does not make her influential

>>10562202
I think she's from Belgium or France
>>
>>10562193
Fucking kek’d. She’s a nobody. The only thing she’s known for is bawwing about how “fatphobic” AP is because they didn’t pick her to model for them at a tea party. Sure, it’s only your weight that’s an issue and not because you’re a witch nosed hag.
>>
>>10562193
Who would be the most famous Euro lolita then? Josine?
>>
>>10562224
She was also suckling up to lor before the like drama. Jo is such an insufferable pile of garbage and I have no idea why people would even consider her famous.

She's clearly only into it for the money and cloud for her shop
>>
update on the random LM refunder mentioned in the last two threads

no one has gotten their money back. the refunds have failed twice now. everyone has a paypal dispute open.

i

if you look at all the listings for the recent negative/neutral feedbacks on her LM, thats $1k in dresses she's scammed people out of.
>>
>>10562241
her lacemarket username is Vergumba. she is unverified now, so no more buying or selling.

she's bought 3 bodyline dresses from cherry_sp since she started scamming people. imagine scamming just to buy bodyline.
>>
>>10562193
Deal with it. This is the face of egl Europe
>>
>>10562245
Those eyes. I’m definitely not getting back to sleep
>>
>>10562245
God, she's so disgusting. Couldn't she at least dress in a bit more understated gothic or classic? This just draws extra attention to how hideous her face is.
>>
>>10562193
No, I think that would be cupcake kamisama.
>>
>>10562250
Literally who?
>>
>>10562245
is that supposed to be a smile?? Looks more like a cry for help
>>
>>10562250
I'm not sure if you're kidding or not. I had to look her up and she has next so no following or reach.

Is this a selfpost or are you just baiting?
>>
>>10562254
She posts too much so she immediately came to mind, but I guess we're in different online circles.
>>
>>10562193
Josine has over 13k followers and Jo has under 3k. Not everyone likes Josine but I think everyone can agree she’s less cringy and eye searingly hideous than Jo.
>>
>>10562227
Idk maybe one of the Swedish lolitas with 10k+ following like Genesis?

When it comes to yt maybe candy because her videos get 3 times more views than Jo's but I don't follow many lolitas there (maybe unicorn princess if she's still active)
>>
>>10562193
Although she doesn't really wear lolita much anymore, Princess Peachie is probably the most popular euro. Jo might be the most 'famous' on modern day youtube (due to how low the bar is on lolita yt), but that doesn't make her that well known outside of that (as much as she likes to think otherwise)
>>
>>10562272
Josine's follower count was proven to be over 75% bots though. Check archive.
>>
>>10562281
Yeah I also would've said peachy but I don't think she's still a lolita. But in retrospect is she definitely the most famous European lolita
>>
>>10562285
Her likes are pretty consistently high though? Don't think that makes sense.
>>
>>10562276
Genesisoftheend is finnish. Has anyone seen the documentary she's in btw? How is it, is it as cringy as I imagine it to be?
>>
>>10562295
You think ~1k is high for a 13k following? Girls with half of that get the same amount regularly.
>>
>>10562296
I think it was one of the better ones desu. It could've been far worse and a lot more cringy imo
>>
>>10562285
That makes sense, I was wondering how someone who only seems moderately well known within the community would amass such a large follower count.
>>
>>10562298
Genesisoftheend has more followers but similar like counts. Are all her followers also bots?
>>
>>10562254
She’s one of the few lolitas who still actively blog so among those who follow blogs rather than sm she’d be more famous I suppose
>>
>>10562272
Who?
>>
>>10562308
Instagram’s algorithm changes have nuked people’s reaches. Before they started messing with it I was consistently getting 800-1.2k likes on posts with 4,000 followers but every time they change the algorithm it fucks up the reach. I’m almost at 6,000 now and most things sit around 300-400 likes. If something REALLY does well it may get 800 or so now. It’s not a sign of bought followers, just that the algorithm is fucked
>>
>>10562308
I have noticed multiple accounts that I follow, that have around 20k-30k followers, only have 1k-2k likes on posts. It might have something to do with the Instagram algorithm, which everyone is complaining about in their stories. Apparently if you only like the picture and do not comment, share or save the post, it will be less likely to be shown to more people.
I'd say that contibutes to the fact, why people who don't do any groundbreaking looks, and stick with the same things, have less likes. Nobody wants to save or share a basic sweet/gothic/classic look. They're already everywhere.
>>
>>10562308
Didn't she use to get a lot more likes before? I checked her Instagram and like a couple of years ago she was getting somewhere around 5k likes regularly. Probably just the shitty algorithm.
>>
>>10562281
I’d say jo is more infamous than famous. Her whole why AP didn’t pick me to model video is pretty cringe
>>
>>10562339
I'd say it's 50/50 famous/infamous. She puts out content consistently and has fun video concepts (I think her Coord With Me: Coord Clash series, where she picks 2 themes out of a hat and tries to coord on livestream, is a great idea), but her taste level is so off that the execution is cringey. I tune in for the fun ideas and stay for the trainwrecks.
>>
>>10562355
If an average looking lolita with better cording skills stole her video ideas, they’d have a fighting chance at becoming a mid-size lolita youtuber. Jo has decent video ideas but she’s so fucking ugly and her coords are tacky as fuck too.
>>
>>10562339
Why is everyone suddenly mention that video? She made it years ago and I’ve seen it mentioned across multiple platforms by (supposedly) different people in just a day or two
>>
>>10562360
It doesn’t help that she lets the itas in her coord with me live streams pick the coords and then wears the coords to big brand events. So she’s constantly just letting itas dress her. Not saying her attempts are better, but that certainly doesn’t help
>>
>>10562276
When it comes to youtube I also thought about CC when we only look active lolita channels.
Otherwise I'd say it's 100% peachie. Does anyone know why she stopped and only uploaded bunny content?
>>
>>10562363
She let's the people decide that give her money in her streams. She's like a hooker dress-up doll
>>
>>10562391
Ayrt, Is that what it’s come to now? Damn, haven’t watched one in over a year, that’s weird
>>
>>10562362
It’s the only thing she’s known for.
>>
>>10562362
It's literally one of her more memorable low points. She's also super entitled and made a video blaming everyone for not buying her ugly dresses for example.
>>
>>10562243
I saw the mods reversed her negatives to neutral from that fiasco when she finally replied that it was a “family emergency” but now they’re all deleted????
>>
>>10562399
Has anyone ever tried publicly posting the LM fb to ask the mods why they're deleting negs/neutrals from scammers? I'm not on fb so I can't.
>>
>>10562362
Well let’s see:

Calls out AP? Check
Triggers fatty haters? Check
Mentions race in any context? Check

It hits all the boxes of hot button issues in the comm, so of course that’s gonna get brought up any time she comes up. Fwiw, I actually do think it’s fucked up that AP clearly preferences light skinned Asians in their abroad event modeling choices, but at the same time, Jo, they didn’t reject you because you’re pudgy, or white or whatever. They rejected you because you’re a 50 year old woman, and you’re not very cute. Why would a brand focused on youth select an older model?
>>
>>10562399
>>10562417
the feedbacks aren't deleted, I can see them still. I've been talking to the LM mods, they're doing their best.

>>
>>10562421
I mean it could be both, she may have simply not considered her age as a factor if they didn't ask her directly. She only seemed to consider factors that AP wanted in her reasoning, which makes sense. Otherwise she'd come off as speculating too much. I honestly thought the shoes bit was interesting. What does AP do if western girls wear LL size? They don't make that size. Do they only accept people who have L and smaller? I'm never going to apply but I honestly thought the video was pretty interesting.
>>
>>10562193
Wouldn't it be CathyCat? Or are Brits their own category?
>>
>>10563034
Cathy Cat is German
>>
>>10562193

When I was a newfag I'd have considered Choke, Marie, and Miladebois as the most famous. Since then for one reason or another they've gone back into relative obscurity, but they all have more followers than this hook nosed fatty.
>>
>>10563026
If your measurements are outside of the listed requirements then you won't be picked, it's that simple. Why pick someone who can't fit into the shoes when 30 other girls that volunteered do?
>>
>>10563040
>Marie and Mila
>relative obscurity

really? anytime marie posts anything, everyone reposts it to their stories. mila might have 'faded' cause she doesn't work at ap paris anymore but she's still famous by proxy because of marie
>>
>>10562421
Oh god will I not be able to model for AP in the future? I can fit into Baby's LL size and AP's LL size for shoes but do they have a cutoff for feet too?
>>
>>10563081
I'm pretty sure I occasionally see models not wearing ap shoes, however I don't know their entire shoe catalogue to be sure. The model requirements for the German tea party were max 24.5cm for shoes, 93cm bust and 73cm waist, however the Paris tea parties never mention this, and I think they would if it was a requirement
>>
>>10563081
What makes you think your giant feet are special?
>>
>>10563101
I don't. Your spitefulness is not kawaii.
>>10563088
That's good to know. I think it's a reasonable parameter for fashion shows as they have pre-determined coordinates. AP would so make bank if they introduced LL in their other shoe designs but they seem to be more concerned with jellybean clipart.
>>
>>10563081
In my experience with lolita brands that provides shoes to the models, they brought a size L which was wearable but snug for me. You can also bring your own shoes from the brand you're modeling for.
>>
>>10563109
>AP would so make bank if they introduced LL
would they though? Their target markets aren't the west. Chinese/JP buyers seem fine with SML.

>>10563081
>>10563088
If they have shoes they want you to wear and they're L size, yes. But sometimes they ask models to bring their own (AP) shoes, so you might be able to get away with bigger feet if you provide your own brand shoes that also match.
>>
>>10563111
I can squeeze into an L size, and I own various colorways of AP's tea parties, so that's not a problem. I was wearing the wrong size my whole life until I joined the fashion anyways.
>>10563117
I think they would, depending on the popularity of a given shoe design. Their LL shoes have been sold out on the Paris site for ages and some colorways on the Japanese site... obviously less so because there are less bigfoot lolitas there. However, there are also smaller sizes patiently sitting in stock online as well. It's a silly way to pose a question though, because while their target market is obviously Asian lolitas, there are plenty of westerners willing to pay good money for that ish.
>>
>>10563127

>>
>>10563101
Thanks for giving me a laugh anon.
>>
>>10563117
Weirdly though, I follow the Chinese community and have never seen people talking about buying AP shoes since there's so many taobao alternatives. So I wonder if there's really a market there.
>>
>>10563165
The main thing is that there isnt a market for LL outside of the western comm. Japanese ppl seem to just have that range for feet so it makes sense for that to be the default size range. If Chinese lolitas dont demand for bigger, there is only the western comm which face it, doesnt have that buying power.
>>
>>10563166
This is endlessly frustrating. I’m such an AP fag and it’s so unsatisfying to wear AP head to toe and then something else on the feet, and it means a large number of people will never be able to model for them no matter what. I can’t shrink my feet. I have meta & baby LL shoes and they’re perfect. I’ve never even seen AP shoes in LL IRL. Have they ever made them at all? I’ve modeled for other brands, AP would be a dream come true

Watching T*ler compare this shitty ass dress to the feelings of 2010 sweet feels disgusting. It's entire design just looks like someone's interpretation of Diamond Honey--which is already a forever 21 equivalent of AP. It doesn't help that that awful petticoat is giving it the lampshade look.

- bottom stitching is apparent, pulls a little

the print is cute. makes me want to own sugar hearts
>>
>>10563310
Yeah, I bought it and while I like it, the print does look a bit like taobao. I think the main reasons are the mismatched colors between the lace, front lacing, print, and belt. Aside from the print tho, the construction is a little messy, the lace on the straps of the dress are completely unfinished, just cut off at the ends; the bottom lace hangs a little long; and the stitching is a bit wobbly along the edges. For what little it cost I do like it, but it shows how little Tyler knows about construction and quality by not bringing up any of the issues it has.
But I was also surprised about the attached petti and honestly that alone would make me support that brand again, I just hope she gets her color matching a bit better.
>>
>>10563323
There's a built in petticoat? Well damn, I'll give it to 'em then.

>>10563180

Tbh if I had dropped a ton on a petticoat and then made a video shilling it I’d probably use it as much as I could, too. I’m sure it’s useful for some dresses, but the past few have looked odd over it unfortunately
>>
>>10563320
I can live with the bottom lace not being ruffled. Baby and Meta don't always ruffle theirs. But the sax ribbon is weird, and the bust seams make me think the lining is weird and/or there's no proper interfacing in the bodice.
>>
>>10563310
The absolute state of indie brands
>>
>>10563471
Apparently the ribbon is customizable, which while cute seems like an excuse to have the default version have weird color balance
>>
>>10563323
While not perfect, the built in petti among other things makes this brand feel like more of a “let’s watch it grow and improve” situation instead of a lost cause
>>
>>10563468
link?
>>
>>10563471

Yeah, but when Baby/Meta do it it looks intentional, like if they want to highlight part of the lace design that would otherwise get lost if the lace was ruffled, or the lace might be too thick and ruin the balance of the whole dress (especially since both brands like to use different types of other lace rather than tulle lace).

This print though, I just can't un-associate it with replica-makers cutting corners and cheaping out everywhere that they can, so the lace just looks like another cut corner.

Even worse when you compare it to >>10563323 and the lace there is clearly ruffled, so now it definitely looks like they got lazy and gave up on the finishing of the dress.
>>
>>10562429

I am absolutely baffled by the amount of people itt defending this. Everything about this is awful. The fabric, the details, the gaudy kindergarten print. Is this really the state of lolita consumers that this trash is acceptable? Even one of those flaws should be a deal breaker.

Not to mention T comparing it to AP in its prime. Jfc I thought she was an ap stan, this is what she thinks is comparable to it?

>>10563323

I’m sorry, I just don’t understand how you can say you like it and follow it up with that many complaints. How can you justify wearing something with so many flaws when there are so many better options out there?

Why the hell did she make a video? The same could be said of ss in the first place, but this is the same mistake. It’s one thing to vent on the internet, but if she knew her she should have spoken to her directly instead of making a video ss probably won’t see just to get internet points

>>
>>10563492
>How can you justify wearing something with so many flaws when there are so many better options out there?

I'm a dumb bitch who liked gummy bears, has a disposable income, and likes supporting indie creators. At the end of the day most of the construction issues I have with it aren't noticeable when worn and don't really affect the sturdiness of the garment, and the color matching issues I fixed by replacing the belt and front lacing. I really do wanna see where this person takes her brand because I like the print a whole lot more than most other indie like LadySloth so I wanna see what she does next.

Holy shit she did something similar to that years ago, tacked on a bunch of additional unlisted fees. Messaged her saying that wasn't what the listing said and she raised a huge stink. Had to go to the mods with the PMs to get her negative feedback scrubbed. Amazing it took her so long to get banned.
>>
>>10563635
Nayrt but I think it’s worth pointing out that this entire line of JSKs and accessories was made by one woman (sleepyriri on instagram.)

Tyler’s mannequin photo makes it look like there’s some glaring construction issues but I wonder how much of that is just poor strap placement because it looks a lot better in her video. The petticoat is way too big for it and it’s stretching the inner lining to its absolute max which makes the lace trim look a bit shit.

The orangey lace isn’t really working for me, but for a first release by a one-woman show this is pretty stellar and I look forward to seeing what she does next. Been humming and hawing over backing her kickstarter because I hate ita bags but I’m a slut for Little-Twin-Stars-adjacent themes.

It reminds me of the OLD old days of LJ when people like Shrinkle and Zapfashion Jade made and sold everything out of their bedrooms before anyone knew anything about outsourcing.
>>
>>10563750
There's a 0% chance that she didn't contract with a factory anon.
>>
>>10563754
i think so too, people keep saying every jsk was handsewn but if that were the case they would be like double the price. certainly her prototypes/personal pieces are done by hand, but no way is everybody's.

and that's not a bad thing, but people shouldn't be using "it's handmade!" as an argument re: why it's shoddy work

>>
>>10563754
>>10563757
I don’t actually know how many she made but I remember the preorders selling out in minutes so it probably wasn’t a huge batch. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility for someone to make a small run of like, 50 jsks on their own (simple cut, very few pattern pieces) especially if they had a lot of time on their hands last year as many of us did. If she said she sewed them all herself I’d take her word for it t b h

I know it’s really easy for anyone with an internet connection to outsource anything these days, and I guess people like idk Pixielocks have lowered people’s expectations massively in terms of productivity, but there was a time when this kind of thing was pretty common, particularly back when you couldn’t even use shopping services to buy brand
>>

>>10563786
This! I'm sure she outsourced the fabric from overseas and didn't spend like $20 a yard from spoonflower, too. >>

>>
>>10563641

>>
>>10563803
As someone who prints fabric this is not the case. first of all, even in China, for a nice fabric, you are looking at LEAST $7+ a meter unless you're ordering 500+ meters. And that's for factories where you have very little oversight about where the product is coming from, and who is actually making it. Plus, you have to pay customs duties and any company doig digital printing is using the same equipment that spoonflower uses. If you want screen printing or rotary printing, the price goes up to account for the cutting of screens, and the minimum quantity skyrockets.

People use spoonflower because it's consistent, local, and pretty easy. You dont have to have a relationship, or try to navigate customs and language barriers to get what you want, plus spoonflower is well known for re-printing in the case of errors etc.

There are like 10,000 western lolitas, I’d be willing to bet at least 2000 of them need LL shoes, if even 1/4 of them are sweet lolitas that’s 500 people. how many Japanese brolitas do you think there are?? And how many pairs of shoes do you think each of them has? I don't understand this either. Just wear a secure mask, double mask, and go with people whom you were close to and trust. I live in CA, and even here they just say keep contacts between max 1-2 households that aren't yours. I disagree with hosting meets with at best acquaintance, but you can still go out with people whom you're close to.

The fact the mods kept it up is so fucking stupid, something this obviously shit stirring should have been deleted right away.

you could have (rightfully) complained about having a meetup when it's still not safe to but instead you got upset that they're...taking pictures of themselves in a store, something almost everyone has done. This probably took 30min at most, very few people are in the background, it seems purposeful that they recorded away from others to not disturb them.

Rona or not, having meetups and/or taking pics in a grocery store is tacky af. In general, I think it's extremely rude to hold meetups in spaces that are not designed for gatherings, especially if you're already going to be an eyesore. Go to a park. Make a reservation at a restaurant. Go to a house or backyard. Hell, go to a mall. Nobody wants to see girls dressed lie frilly babies prancing about the grocery store with children's toys.
>>
>>10563861
Anon you're replying to, but, I said this as someone who prints 100% cotton fabric at under $4 a yard haha. I regularly order 500+ meters per order and have never paid customs to the US. I'm saying spoonflower is just straight up overpriced. Any indie brand producing 10 dresses with spoonflower should just look into working with an overseas manufacturer. That's the only way she could be charging 170 per dress and making any profit unless she pays herself $5 an hour.
>>
>>10564143

There are easier ways to open up a discussion on racism from brands. It is odd that while white models have shown up in fashion shows alongside asian girls, there’s never been a black model. Since white people have been allowed the “asians are the target audience” argument doesn’t hold up.
I don’t see why this person felt the need to bring up a flimsy story when there’s already iffy stuff going on (not that it necessarily warrants a boycott of the entire brand)
>>
>>10564139
Yeah my comm opted to have a library meetup for some reason. So fucking cringe. It turned into a bunch of itas loudly wheeze-whisper laughing and getting yelled at.

I feel like any place that sells tampons is just not really suitable for a meetup/pics. What bothers me even more than the fact that they're clearly meeting up across several households is the fact that they are fulfilling this weird ageplay image with the whole dancing around with the stuffed rabbit bit.
>>
>>10564157
What's even weirder is that for all their abroad modeling I've never seen a single dark skinned model. They select from the local comms. There was a whole uproar about it in I think the Atlanta comm. The comm was predominantly Black, but AP chose exclusively white and Asian models.
>>
>>10564153

>>10564158
>weird ageplay image
My thoughts exactly. Like seeing this from a normie perspective, they just look like a bunch of weird perverts playing with plush toys at WalMart.
>>
>>10564174
I can see that. I've always wondered at what point we, as lolitas, should be aware of how things look to non-lolitas. Especially in places like the grocery store, we really should be on our best behavior, because we already stand out a ton, and anything we do that's even slightly weird or obnoxious gets magnified x100.
>>
>>10564174
If only plush toys were normalized for adults. Would make usakumyas a more justifiable accessory, too.
>>
>>10564177
I know how you feel, but where’s the line between “don’t embarrass the community” and “all lolitas must be lovelies all the time”?
>>
>>10564177
This comes with age I believe. The older I get in lolita, the less I give a fuck about what normies think about me.

Well were there thin and cute black girls in the comm then, or were they too fat to fit into burando. Not everything is about race, Kawaiijo didn't get selected either despite being white because she looked like...that.
>>
>>10564186
NTA but there's a difference between lolitas must be lovelies, and lolitas should be reasonably courteous. I think k8 is sort of the originator of the whole CVS/Target photoshoot, so I feel bad that these girls are getting called out for it, but at the same time it really is inappropriate, especially with covid. Loitering isn't kawaii, it's super cringe especially when it's literally unsafe to do so.
>>
>>10564197
fuck off.
>>
>>10564197
There are plenty of well dressed conventionally attractive black lolitas around the world so the fact that AP has never selected one ever is extremely suss
>>
>>10564200
I know right? It's almost as if there is the same distribution of attractiveness among black women as you would find among white or asian women. Shocker.
>>
>>10564200
Honestly i don’t consider this a problem to get very salty over. Yes it’s unfair and it sucks for the black lolitas.
but what do people expect from a japanese niche brand that has never made any claims or aspirations of inclusivity (which is pretty much an american thing.) Japan being xenophobic isn’t any kind of secret. There are hardly black people in japan too. so why would this be on their radar.
They will still sell lots of clothes whether they are racist or not.
>>
>>10564204
>Honestly i don’t consider this a problem to get very salty over
white girl spotted lmao. No one expects the next seasons model to be black. But whe a brand is already selecting from local girls and chooses to ignore black girls even where they are the majority, of course that's something to get pissy over.
>>
>>10564205
I’m not white lol.
Don’t participate if you don’t like it. Nobody is going to care if someone throws a hissyfit on social media over an expensive boutique brand that normies have never heard of. I mean you could complain to AP but i don’t think they care.
Just don’t buy AP if you don’t want to support them.
>>
>>10564207

What would happen if in one application round only non white/non asian lolitas applied?

>>
>>10564139
>especially if you're already going to be an eyesore
as we all know Walmart is an upscale establishment known for attracting only conservative, classy, well dressed individuals.

is this board full of lolitas at heart? it’s just clothes. you’re supposed to wear them out not only to super special secretive meets where we are kept far away lest we offend the eyes of some normies
>>
>>10564174
They would think that even if they were perfectly quiet and minded their businesses because that’s how all normies view sweet. If you can’t handle stares and assumptions being made about you by complete strangers, then sweet lolita isnt the style for you, go wear goth or classic.
>>
>>10564164

>>10564241
I know the pic you're talking about. The blacklolitacommunity instagram was trying really hard to find it a month or so ago and finally did. It's on their page. They said it used to come up a lot when googling black girls in lolita fashion but was lost for a bit.

I think when they do runway shows a few brands have used black models before (even Meta did in like 2018/2019 with one of their plus sized friendly tent dresses I think and people complained the girl looked ugly). I doubt for most of them it is any sort of genuine disdain at large for black girls.
>>
>>10564307
Did they lighten her skin or is she just extremely light skinned? Maybe the blonde wig is throwing me off.
>>
>>10564307
>>10564308
>>10564309
Cool, but my biggest complaint is that they never select dark-skinned girls. While that mostly precludes black girls, it's equally weird that they haven't selected even darker skinned asians.
>>
>>10564187
and other lolitas in general too, anon. lazy high fives

>>10564178
Excuse you, usakumyas are in a league of their own.

>>10563641
Did anyone thing it was majorly fucked up that she noticed the original like (by Lor) but didn't say anything to her? Like holy shit, if I saw my friend did that I would let them know asap or at least find out if it was an accident, giving her a chance to fix it before she gets assblasted.

Or was she secretly the one who shared it to destroy Lor? Which is super fucked up.
>>
>>10563488
I actually think it would look better with no lace rather than flat lace. Ruffled lace would have been cute but it looks lifeless
>>
>>10564370
Exactly. Japanese brands rarely have models (in photo or runway) of darker skinned Asian women (like ethnic groups of India/Pakistan/etc.), Hispanic women, Native women, or hell even darker skinned East Asian women in general. I also don't believe they hire Korean women as models?

And this is for nearly all Japanese brands, not just Lolita brands. Look at Liz Lisa, Wego, any JPN commercial...

A lot of women of color get excluded. It's fucked up for everyone, so focusing on one specific race not getting included when many are not represented is extremely ignorant and I feel like won't lead to much change.

It's too bad they won't just stick to only Japanese women as models instead of sometimes including (often ugly) White women. It would be more excusable.
>>
>>10564541
Baby has a Korean model (Seren iirc?). Although they’re getting into more idols/Chinese cosplayers to appeal to that market
>>
>>10564187
Yeah, but hopefully, the older you get also the more mature you become, and at that point you're reasonable and aware enough not to be loitering and making a scene inside a shopping center.
>>
>>10564541
Yeah, it's especially weird because there are plenty of Japanese girls who are darker-skinned than the Lilly white ghosts they've been using.
>>
>>10564594
Given that Japanese skincare brands still make "whitening" products, it's not really that weird or surprising.
>>
>>10564594
How new are you if you still find it weird? Japanese people don't like dark skin, time to get over it.
>>
>>10564594
>lily white ghosts
Pfft jealous much
>>
>>10564597
>>10564987
Not weird in that white skin is a mystery, weird as in the claim that they’re not biased in selecting tea party models doesn’t add up given that every one they select is extremely light skinned. This implies that it’s not just a race or nationality issue, it’s an aesthetic choice to only look for girls who are light skinned. They discriminate against darkskinned Blacks, Latines, Natives, Asians, and even dark skinned whites like Italians. Point being it’s fucked up.

>>10565337
Nope. I am absolutely in love with my skin, aside from some mild allergies I wouldn’t trade it for anyone else’s.
>>
