Cute and unique fursuits

Furries are trash
>>10550977
>>10551372They have more herehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwfxkkxFsnQ
>>10550979This is pretty dang cute and unique. Not a fan of the bucktooth, but I love the idea behind this and the expression. Sort of reminds me of Viva Pinata but less terrifying looking.
Mammals and dragons are so effing common--It's nice to see something different every now and again.
>>10551372Yeah I'm thinking based
>>10551417Surprised birds are still niche since furries aren't based on Western cartoons so much anymore
>>10551417Cool animals are so effing common. You never see pigs, hypos or donkeys. Probably because the furries are already bearing a resemblance to them irl.
>>10551718hippos*. I was watching some hypno secretary videos earlier.
Realistic or kemono?
>>10550979Thats realy cool and cute
>>10552105whatever fits the board's theme
>>10550979Looks like a bunch of sticky note pads inspired this design
Working with fur is so difficult, mad respect to the fursuit makers who've perfected the craft. It's really too bad about Kero the Wolf and co.
>>10557586agreed, let alone hidding seams
>>10552105Both have their purpose, but on average I'm going to be more impressed with a really good realistic suit than a really good kemono one. It's just not possible to have to put in as much effort into a kemono suit unless you really go out of your way for out there features.
>>10551376Is there a furry thread somewhere?
>>10559695Both are still harder to pull off than regular fursuits tho, a lot of people trying to do kemono get it wrong thinking all it takes is a plastic domes over mesh (which fogs badly too)
>>10550977https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZY8bSRw9oIE&t=40s
>>10551587I think it's mostly because toony bird suits tend to look fucking weird and the realistic ones have abyssmal vision because of the eye placement. Most of the time birb suits only work in kemono or more realustic styles
>>10561815this looks a bit bad...
>>10561945not on the same level as the others posted here, but I like it
>>10561945>>10561952Idk how that Raymond cos looks bad to you.
>>10561964is this a selfpost? the weird plastic mouth is a big part of the problem.
>>10561967>>10561982your standards are too high. It looks perfectly fine
>>10561967>>10561982>>10562009no, I don't remember being a popular japanese maker, also that fursuit's mouth is magnetic to swap out
>>10562009>self post>at last 3 different people responding
>>10561982>>10562009ya'll retardedhttps://twitter.com/Rian__meu/status/1270370083202666497
>>10562009What is actually wrong with you?
>>10562025It still looks kinda messy ngl
>>10562020it looks terrible, anon. who cares if it's magnetic.
>>10562479How can you say it looks terrible? Like, whats an example of a fursuit you think isn't perfect, but also isn't terrible?
>>10562471>>10562479If that's messy and terrible, idk what most fursuits look to you because that's actually a neatly made one comapred to the average one the west puts out.
>>10562938The fur on the upper part of the head and ears are unevenly shaven and the ears look like they have a patchy airbrush job. This is more of a nitpick but the color scheme is all wrong and looks noticeably worse than Raymond’s color scheme. It’s better than average, but that’s not saying much when the average is dragged down by the countless 14 year olds gluing two foot tall ears onto tiny raptor masks. The structure of the head is fine, but the maker seems to have neglected a lot of the basics of fur finishing work.
are there any girl furries?
>>10562938Magnetic mouths are inherently ugly looking because they quite literally look “tacked on.” It reminds me of those shitty handmade felt plushes you find at cons where the eyes and other details are hot glued on, it just looks cheap and not very cohesive. Swappable emotions on a fursuit is a fun, novel idea, but it rarely looks good because you’re usually slapping a 2d piece on top of a 3d form. And because it has to be removable, it never looks like it’s part of the head. It’s almost like it just floating awkwardly in front of it. I think the closest you can get to changing parts on a suit looking ok is with magnetic eyelids and eyebrows, but even then I personally think that they also look a bit strange for similar reasons.Tl;dr this head is ugly even when you ignore the fucked up fur
>>10564024>the color scheme is all wrong>what is room lightLooks perfectly fine to me on the pictures done with flash.
>>10564046The main gray fur is fine but the ear fur is still brown under flash and the inner ear fur is still a really gross color
>>10564024>>10564033god, how miserable is your life if you nit pick everything this much?
>>10564028If there were then gay orgies wouldn't be such a big thing in the furry circles, and people wouldn't have to dress up for them.
>>10564028>>10564258There are plenty of female fursuiters. From my experience, fursuiters are nearly 50/50 men/women. Female furries are much more likely to be into the fursuiting side of things than other aspects of the community.
>>10550979I suddenly understand why guns aren't allowed into conventions, I'd magdump this thing out of sheer panicked terror if I saw it.
>>10551372I never got this meme, wouldn't the trans person want their dick to be removed if they are a transwoman? Why would it be a seethe wojak if that were the case, you think both would be happy.

is it a bad idea to make a suit out of fleece instead of fur?
>>10550977Furries aren't allowed out of /trash/ and /b/. Why is this thread still up?
>>10571305Because furries have a habit of injecting themselves in spaces where they aren't wanted
>>10571305thats for artwork. this is cosplay
>>10571435You mewling retard. Where did you pull this distinction from? Show me in the rules.
>>10571802you're right, there is actually no rule against posting furries in general as long as its not pornographic. Only /vp/ has a general no furries rule. Which is weird considering how many pokemon are anthropomophic.
>>10571871Is that new? Or is it just to stop people from posting anthropomorphized/gjinka pokeporn of their original do not steal pokemon designs?
>>10571878i have no clue. I rarely go to that board, but just checked the rules now.
i'm assuming there are legit furries in here, how much could one charge for a competently made suit? I know there's money in the furry community but I want to see if it's worth my time to try and expand upon my craft to match this niche.
>>10572488Furries are insane I've seen shitty fursuits go for thousands. I wouldn't be surprised if you could sell one for a million.
>>10572488It requires a lot of time and effort, and everyone wants one based on their fursona, so that makes it slow since you can't mass produce them like you can with generic ears/tail/paws. For a bad suit made by a beginner, probably $500 or so. But one made by a skilled maker $1500+
I could use the money. I wonder how I could advertise my stuff.
>>10572488I just saw a half body ych sell for $600usd in a bidding war on Twitter this morning. Wasn't even NSFW. Lots of money to be made.
>>10581085>>10572488Forgot to say that this was just for an artwork. Bidding started at $100 and only went for an hour
>>10572488Your best bet is putting up something for auction and see how far it goes.
>>10564033>the character the fursuit is emulating is from a game where the character’s mouths are just transparent images tacked on to the face
>>10581345your fursuit looks like shit, get over it. it's been a fucking month.

>>10550977Fursuit and furries don't belong on this board.Go kill yourself you fucking degenerates.
>>10584995This board has had fursuit threads before--as long as it's sfw and focuses on suiting and construction, it follows the rules. Quit sperging.
>>10584995>implying cosplayers and lolitas aren't degenerateskek
>>10584995>32Wow your response is way over board. First time here and this is what I see. Hope you get reported and banned.
>>10584995The world doesn't need people like you.
>>10584995This is like throwing stones from a glass house. Remember what board you are on when you posted this lmao
>>10550977some seller on ali already makes knockoffs of the op fursuit, lmao
>>10585432Thats great value brand
>>10585432It happened to >>10563514 also
>>10585432>>10585514these are really generic.
>>10572488Depends on how skilled you are and the audience you build. New makers tend to have to break even to get their name out there (a finished head being around $550); but after that a partial well made suit can be upwards of $3k+
>>10591253>partial well made suit can be upwards of $3k+Fuck off. If you're paying more than $1.5k for a partial or $2k for a full suit, barring you having a design that has a shit ton of colours or other special features, you're paying for the name, not the suit. There's a goldilocks zone of "Knows their shit, but doesn't have an ego about it" with makers that can be a bitch to track down people in.
Do the furries not have their own board? Why are you here?
>>10591351this is a cosplay board, we post cosplays here. Are you new?
Furry is not cosplay. It's original character costumes. Does not belong here.
>>10591416new to cosplay too, huh?
Tell that to the lolita threads, which last I saw seemingly made up half to 2/3rds of /cgl/ at any given time.
>>10591426what do you think the “l” in “cgl” stands for, you fucking idiot?it’s not cglf
>>10591431So the assertion that the board can't have "original character costumes." is made null, given that's practically what lolita is.
>>10591443The board is for cosplay AND lolita. Furries are neither of those things
>>10591446"Costume play" of a defined character is 100% within the definition of a fursuit, it just specifies that it is a costume of a anthropormorphic animal character. Whether it's from a corporate IP or a character made by the person wearing the costume is irrelevant.
>>10591451this. Its still dressing up as a character, even if its an original character. Its not like a halloween costume where someone dressing up as a carrot or sexy nurse.
>>10591345You seem to forget that people still want to make a living wage, and the comples cuts and airbrush of some fursuits alone can take many weeks, and depending on the country quality fur is expensive af (see Japan with like 80€ per yard).
>>10591580nta but no, it really doesn't.
>>10583230This is cute.>>10584995It's cosplay/kigu, I don't see any issue with it.
>>10591580So fuck everyone who isn't in the low upper class and above "Have so much money I can burn multiple $1000's on $1000's for something that gets maybe a little less than 24hours of total use" income bracket, right? And don't give me the "Luxury good" bullshit, I'm not advocating actually genuinely 'affordable' fursuits (Hard, well under $1000 for a decent fullsuit) as it is genuinely a lot of work, and material to a certain degree, to make a fursuit. But there's a world of difference between, say a gaming PC that you can use for a shit ton of other things that aren't strictly just gaming and you can get a lot of actual utility from because it's still a computer, and a costume that you get a few hours of use at a time from, typically at conventions or parties that only happen once in a blue moon. Unless we're the type to travel all over a given country or all over the world to use a costume constantly, in which case clearly money was no object for you to begin with. And on top of THAT, ignoring any current pandemic bullshit, guess how much a reasonably balanced high end gaming PC is? ~$1.5k-$2k.Any rebuttal with "But living wage", I'm sorry to say but the range for reasonable price for what you're getting, and what you seem to deem in the range of "livable wage", simply do not line up. Like most art/craft based cottage industries, the massive influx of producers vs. the numbers of buyers that are capable of and willing to spend the money just doesn't line up. You don't see this because if you only look at the 'popular' makers where the 'tards are always wanting to buy from, you're going to see nothing but constant demand. For the rest of the market however, it's far closer to "I wish I could commission one, but they're so expensive." unless we're talking to someone where money is little object, or has shit handling of personal finances.
>>10591597imagine being this much butthurt over fursuit pricing, also it's not like if there weren't 1000 tutorials out there on how to make them yourself
>>10591597I mean the same goes for latex crafting. Catsuits from retailers and designers cost anywhere from 300-700 USD for a standard catsuit. Latex by the roll costs 9 bucks a meter which for my size if patterned correctly would come out to like 2m for a catsuit. Instead of complaining I'm just making it myself rather than paying a designer. Same shit goes for fursuits. Anyone can budget 1k and learn to make it themselves. Fursuit makers value their time and skill and with years of experience comes a higher price. TLDR If you don't like fursuit prices from makers just do it yourself
>>10591588You sound like someone who has never made a quality fursuit and doesn't know shit, try sewing on hundreds of highly detailed markings in multiple colors that need to fit into the main body seamless and we can talk again
>>10591604This looks like absolute shit.
>>10591609OMG nayrt but that’s obviously the back side lmao. You just proved you’ve never made a costume in your life.. embarrassing
furry drumu PogU is there any furry fight club (furry fight cub heh) on youtube? it can be like pokemon battles where you go to settle your furry differences.
>>10591609Bored lolita sissy thinks the back side ever looks good. 4o0o DoLlArS bEtTeR hAVe PeRfEcT cIrClEsDon't you have another bored to shitpost on?
>>10591614no i mean the worksmanship, the seams on that are puckered and uneven as fuck and this kind of material needs to be finished, see how badly it's fraying?
>>10591617Bro, if that's what you think is good sewing, you deserve your low quality suits.
>>10591604Please don't selfpost if all you can muster is this garbage.
You know if you hate fursuits so much why post on this thread? It only keeps it here longer and you don't get a 4chan medal of excellence being here
>>10591601>>10591602This isn't for me, I'm more than well capable of making my own shit, even if by my own admission my output won't ever be AS good as someone dedicated to it, as material and tools costs just don't add up doing it once or twice. It's for the larger group that would love to get one but because of the bullshit that is the "Work 70% of your existence away to live or fuck you" that is expected of 1st world countries, that the time and resource commitment to doing shit yourself is not practical (One time use tools add up fast!), and the amount of money made working said life away just doesn't add up to be able to afford both living and being able to have a semi-wide array of hobbies such that allows to not be unhealthily obsessed with practically only one thing.I'm lucky, I'm not in a position right now where my own existence fucking sucks that hard. But many of my friends are, and I had been there for a while. Life was a minor hell of not being able to do anything because the finances just don't add up.I get angry because the goalpost is ever moving. And tomorrow, after some s.o.b. saved for years to get the one thing he wanted so bad but couldn't realistically get otherwise without saving here and there, with the expectation the price would be in X range, suddenly it's "Lol nope, now the expectation is 2X-3X more expensive now to get even the most basic of basic bitch version of what you want, so keep saving forever you fucking wagie."
>>10591618omg lmao anon you literally don’t know what you’re talking about. Sewing fur in a circle will cause puckers, they won’t be visible on the right side. And faux fur doesn’t “fray” but I’m guessing you mean the loose fur around the edges... which will be invisible as well as finished once the piece is sewn to another and flipped????
>>10591627If you can make your own shit then do it and don't make it other peoples problems. Nobody likes working 70% of their life away but guess what that's 1st world countries. You sound like you are going through a crisis that most people have when they are 15. Invest in stock market or change your priorities. Saving 4g's is doable if you stop buying fast food, cosplay and porn. And before you say you or your friend's don't have money for stocks remember that people turned 4$ into 300 on GME. There's plenty of stocks out there that give good gains.
>>10591623Newfag spotted, not a selfpost.https://twitter.com/tetetoroort/status/1357088795850534912
>>10591618>has never seen a henson stitch their whole lifehow are you even on this board
>>10591597There are hundreds of fursuit sellers all selling at a large range of price ranges. I don't understand the ranting.>>10591618Its fur, it doesn't matter. The one advantage of fur compared to other fabric is it hides imperfections very well.
>>10584839I'm sorry you're dealing with that but why are you spreading that hellscape>>10591620Idk, looks perfectly fine to me. As long as it's lined I can't imagine it being a problem. The stitches are decently tight and, heck, it's fur. It really doesn't matter as long as it's durable because you are never going to see the stitching anyway.
>>10591597I mean, at the end of the day, the prices will be what the market supports. If you are unhappy with those prices, you can always make them yourself at the price point you want to see. Or just to make it for yourself.
>>10591620seems like you don't know how to sew, this is perfectly fine quality for markings as that's the seam tolerance of a henson stitch showing, you don't see that anymore once fur has been lined
I'm curious to hear what the threads general consensus is on western style, I rarely ever see people post them. I dunno I like em personally
>>10595912What western style, there is so many different types that it's really hard to put that under one umbrella.
>>10595912I like the realistic western style but not that faggy fetish style (>>10581903>>10580663)

>>10561945it's accurate to the character, and that considered it looks great
>>10580663I recognize that parking lotI'm only 60% sure but I just froze a little
>>10584836my concern about fleece vs fur on a body suit is if fleece would wear out a lot faster and need replacing more often since it doesn't have an outer buffer like fur fibers im not sure if that's a thing or not
>>10597815
>>10580663100% chance there's a man in that suit.

>>10608682
>>10609117This looks terrific!
>>10609117This is amazing.
Got redirected from the stupid questions thread to ask here, but I'm attempting to make a Lucario fursuit based on the style of the Official Mascot from the Pokemon Centers. And I'm attempting to stay as close to the design pictured here as possible. My question is what fabric is being used here? And if you have an answer thanks in advance.
>>10626650Minky fux fur trimmed prob
>>10626650This is most likely shaved down fur. Minky has a very specific texture to it.
>>10602925The big thing is that airbrushing does wear off of fleece a lot faster than it does on fur, but the fabric itself doesn’t wear out that bad as long as you’re using and anti-pill fleece. Even if you did have to replace it though, the cost of sewing a fleece bodysuit yourself practically costs pennies compared to making one out of fur. Fleece is pretty versatile for its price, just once again make sure it’s anti pill
so we're just posting pictures?no info copypasta for op?
>>10591627Why the fuck is your solution to features of a capitalist society that people should expect lower pay for their labor? If you break it down, most fursuiters make barely over minimum wage on each suit if even that. Making fursuits is a highly skilled process that should necessitate even higher prices, you’re just too used to buying cheap shit that was made in a sweatshop overseas by grannies and children who are basically paid in pennies. If you’re going to complain about how much the system fucks people over, direct that anger towards corporations that make medical care unreachable, or those that refuse to pay a living wage. Don’t bitch at individual artists for not undervaluing their labor because your retarded friends just have to have a neon pink fox costume. Not being able to buy expensive things sucks, but for the love of god people are dying because they can’t afford medical care and housing. Go fuck yourself.
>>10628099You know why healthcare is so expensive? Because medicine is a highly skilled career. So STFO

Monstergirls are by and large considered shit by people strictly into furries with how much they clog up popular media in place of actual anthro animals, plus how much normies seem to conflate furries and monstergirls (and the male equivalent). Especially with anime, but live action shit has a major problem with this as well. Though that could just be a budget to do it properly being difficult if we're not multi million on the budget.>if not where would you draw the line? It's less a line and more a design mindset. When the character isn't "Literal human with accessories tacked on." but is "(Insert animal here), but with proportions edited so they're human-esque and bipedal.", then you get into furry/anthropomorphic.I get this is likely a bait post, but fuck if this doesn't rustle the jimmies something fierce.

>>10647544>>10647580yea.. my guess was gonna be $1000 for a nice head. Decided to look around and I guess I'm out of touch because fursuit heads are much more expensive than I realized. I thought partials were in the $1500 range, not just the head by itself. These $1500 heads don't even look that great...

>>10647591Your looking at 'popfur' prices. They don't represent the actual average price for a fursuit. Which while obviously less money = less quality on average, 'popfur' prices are not at all representative of quality. Only Le namebrand of how recognizable the maker is. Which usually results in a "Muh style" situation if you have a character wit ha defined look that may not mesh 100% with that maker. If you want more realistic prices, you have to shop around and really dig to find people. Part for the massive price hike with the popular ones is because they're popular, they get more offers for work than others do, meaning they have to filter people with the price.I wouldn't spend much more than $1500 for a complete partial, $2000 for a fullsuit myself.
Also, I agree, those heads don't look remotely something I'd give the amount a gaming PC would be worth for.
>>10647591Lemonbrat is notouriously bad with customers and their suits just... don't look good. I see why they charge that much (because people do buy at that price) but they just look... so ugly to me.
>>10647635She used to be known as Limebarb and she did the same dodgy stuff with cosplay commissions.
>>10647641Just looked Limebarb up and the third result was a beware. Not surprised that her shitty business practices carried over to Lemonbrat. I watched a video on this dude who had to wait forever for his suit (pic related) and it comes looking like shit and not even fitting.
>>10647647Yikes, that looks awful

>>10551417>>10551587>162 days and 10 hours agoJegus.Psychologically, the point of furries isn't that they're animals so much as that they're not human. They're more like an elemental or eidolon than a space alien or fantasy race. The reason furries are all things like foxes and wolves is because uncommon animals like Glaucus Atlanticus or manuls don't have the same cultural background. A furry is like an abstract idea of cool. This is probably why they get associated so much with searing highlights and rave music- they're supposed to feel very adventurous
>>10648632plenty of other animals and mystical creatures too. Dutch Angels are popular
>>10648625Nah, I think it's based off of some anime character. Where's this character from? I remember seeing a video with him in it a few years back on YouTube.
>>10648672That's Lucy Lacemaker from Sam Fennah's YouTube webseries, Satellite City. It's likely that you saw one of his animation tests with her since they're considerably easier to stumble on and easier to sit through than the show itself
>>10563515How do they see
>>10649129They don't.Even on fursuits with "open" eyes in the style of >>10649041 have basically zero visibility, which is just one more reason for people dressing up in them to only ever go out with a dedicated handler backing them up.
>>10647212>I don't think normies would have such a problem with furriesSome stranger walks up to you with his features completely concealed. He hops from foot to foot like he has downed a can of Monster or worse, and speaks to you in an unusual manner that implies he is either not sober or completely sane.Furries are radiating stranger danger to outsiders. A quality suit won't make things better. It will make them not worse.
