>>10530454Hello, this is #2284! Last update my gift was stuck and hadn't arrived to my Santa yet - Santa, is that still the case? I'm not worried if it arrives in July I just wanted to make sure I was still in the loop!
You bitches will be lucky if we get another SS this year! It’s about giving, not receiving you greedy bastards! If you want something so bad then fucking buy it yourself!
/cgl/ is truly the only board where people can get free shit and then screech that it isnt good enough. Jesus fucking christ I hate gulls and I hate overwound lolitas
the true gift is all the dramu that came out of it. I just wish some gull would go nuclear and leak more logs
>>10530456Hi #2284! I'm assuming you meant me your 50 - 75 santa! The main package is stil in limbo and no updates yet :( However, all the small extra items I ordered during the holidays have arrived so I would be more than willing to prepare those gifts together with all the fillers and send that out now! And then ship out the main gifts when that order finally arrive. Let me know what you would prefer! :)
>>10530472 The misunderstanding is something I apologize for .When I got the items all dinged up n bows I was really confuesed because of the tier and because I was aware of the bow issue years ago, especially since I myself didnt do a good job my first time doing ss and how strict they were about meeting budget .When told he was sending another gift , I wasn't aware it was one already bought .I thought he was getting me new stuff because of what I sent to party and i was told that one item had to be canceled .So I thought that I had it all because of the canceled one and that he was getting Something else after being contacted about it. That is why I asked to not continue .didn't know other stuff was delayed and that's on my part for not reading the message correctly.i was told there was a problem with it so That's the only reason why I asked the organizers to go through with the grinch thing because they mentioned it when seeing my gifts as well.that n stuff being damaged sucked.so again im really sorry about that karl.Luckilly only the harness is damaged but I may be able to fix it. I saw the other Gul and was like "hey same" I wasn't trying to get more.then organizer said I was harassing him when I hadn't ever privately talked to him. And they said the same thing last year when all I did was respond to a question they had. the only thing I ever messaged to my giftee was asking for specific measurements since they forgot them n color pallettes n other application stuff and updates on shipment .thats literally it.no other messages. Like I get being annoyed because I posted and even before me everyone was in an uproar to him.But I never attacked anyone.its just out of nowhere plus sucked seeing my stuff damaged and not knowing the situation .just wanted to clarify that I was absolutely not harassing anyone at all. .Thats why I responeded So that's it.im sorry if you didnt want me to ask for sizes.just wanted to be sure since you had clothing pieces on the list
>>10530515So...is it that the box was damaged, the figurine was damaged or some harness?
>>10530517Funny, isn't it, how what is damaged and what they want/didn't want keeps changing, every time they post.
>>10530520I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like a child or mentally unstable.
>>10530522Sounds like a child, mentally unstable, or not yet has a good enough grasp on English to participate. Or some combination of all three.
B-Before the thread gets flooded again#6952, the rest of your treats are on the way! I sent tracking to the organizers so you should be getting it soon~
>>10530517The gifts came already kind of wrapped. The box is a little hit but like I said the figure is fine. I said it kinda sucks having the box not be in super good condition. Because if I get a legit item I save the box and don't open typically. I do have this nen but as a knock off. I said the harness buckle front strap part is loose but I think I can fix it. The wings also kinda droop really weirdly. but I think my friend can look at it as they do cosplay stuff. I don't know if it's because it was thrown around or if it's just because it's a cheap ali express item. Because reviews were all high and didn't mention any of it. . The packages were small ,in a big box and not wrapped with anything. I do think the harness probably can be fixed . I'm not asking for anything else. I was just trying to explain the reaction both had when seeing it . With added confusion of not knowing for sure if an item was canceled or what. That's all. I apologize. I know I'm typing hella dumb. I have a new keyboard auto correct app since my phone updated ..which keeps auto correcting words and letters . I go back to fix and then it just re does it again . Super stupid .. I didn't mean to add to the stress . I just wanted to clarify especially about the harassment stuff. I know for the organizer my emails all sent in doubles so maybe that happened to my match to and that bothered them when I asked for their measurements.
>>10530469This is why I never sign up, fucking shit attitude lol
>>10530469It's not free shit if you have to pay the same amount in order to receive as well.If someone sent me gifts out of the blue, I wouldn't complain. If I paid $100 to receive a gift worth $35, I'd complain.
Is it possible for us to see the popular ratings on the gifts used in the feedback form? I'm really curious to see what the popular opinion would be on those different gifts and what other gulls think is not enough, just right, or too much.
#4618 here - still waiting for my package to return from the war. I'm so sorry, Santa! I saw you even paid for Priority USPS and here it is nearly two weeks later.
Add a requirement with a timestamped coord/cosplay pic or social media post with proof like an edited caption and all of these issues will go away/
>>10530435 Holy shit 4504 was my old ss. Makes all since now.
>>10530505Hello! Yes, sorry, I was only in the one tier this year - likely the way postage is right now and how expensive it is it's probably better to wait for the entire thing, unless you wanted to ship the filler items out!
hello #5059! i saw your package (30-40 tier) was delivered before Christmas but never saw you post my gift to you! please post ASAP if you can, i would really appreciate it ^^
>>10530543The problem is you shouldn’t be participating with that kind of mindset. The goal of SS is to give someone something good, not to receive something expensive. If you wanted to get something you think is equal to what you “paid” for then just buy it yourself
>>10530552they are too stupid for something that simple
>>10530552Either last year or the year before social media got brought up and people who don't have social media went absolutely ballistic about the idea.
>>10530590Timestamped picture would solve that
>>10530592Like, would a timestamped flatlay work?
>>10530597I think that'd be fine, with a piece of paper with the # on it. Or closet pic or whatever else
>>10530597Yeah, it still shows you have an actual completed coord or cosplay. I also think plain clothes closet cosplays shouldn't count
>>10530552This would be ideal (minus social media)That being said, it also shouldn't be required for card tier.
>>10530584Some $100+ gifts were pretty wild honestly. I thought that gift like >>10524672 is really cool for quality over quantity criteria, but gits with several main brand pieces make me question if that's actually fair to omit the top limit.
>>10530552This suggestion has been repeated over the entire 6-7 years I have been browsing as a gull, and it's never been implemented for very long. This board is so slow now that, were you to start making this a requirement, it's very possible there won't be enough members to make it worth doing, or that long time contributors will drop because they won't risk being figured out and exposed by their comms. The impression people have of gulls now is the worst I've ever seen so that's food for thought. These are the same arguments that have been made against it many times, take that as you will.
>>10530584This It gets worse though because now people have the attitude "if you dont go above and beyond youre an asshole"
>>10530634wouldn't it be sent to the organizers only though?
>>10530634>The impression people have of gulls now is the worst I've ever seen so that's food for thought. In both cosplay and lolita or just lolita comms?
>>10530636I don’t think anyone expects people to go above and beyond, it sucks when one person gets a bunch of stuff because they find good deals and one person just goes with one super over-priced item. Like with the sewing patterns costing $30 when most people would have the wherewithal to finds them for far cheaper. I have a feeling that’s what happened with the purse and candle gift that everyone was upset about, too. Like that candle was $30 and most savvy shoppers would realize that’s too much and wouldn’t pay that much for essentially a filler item and would find a candle for $10. I got my person two dresses for $75 because I’m decent at navigating the secondhand market, but not everyone is and might pay that much for a blouse alone. And that’s not something you can make rules about. So one person might see someone else’s gift and think that Santa went way over when really the Santa just found deals.
>>10530584You're mistaking what I'm saying. If you sign up for a $100 tier and send a gift worth $100, you expect to receive a $100 gift in return. If you send a $100 gift to receive a $35 gift in return, I feel I have a right to complain. This is why we have price tiers to begin with.
>>10530633I was actually the santa that sent that gift and it was for the $50-75 tier and isn't a good example of quality over quantity because the cat ear/tail set cost $75 on its own, so I heavily splurged on them.
3497, your card match here...wanted to communicate to you that I have been checking the tracking number on your gift daily, really hoping it gets delivered soon. It arrived in your country on Dec 20 but nothing has updated since. I received your card and I'm going to attempt to cleverly photograph it to post here, and keep the letter portion of it private. I would love to continue to write you back, the idea of having an international pen pal sounds fun!
>>10530571Thank you for the patience, the whole postal delay is really stressful. I will keep you updated and if it is too slow I will still make a first shipment before the end of January with the things that have arrived <3
>>10530583Hi there! I actually posted a few threads back. Here >>10522179
>>10530649I don't really see why everyone was ragging on candle-anon unless the person who received it was unhappy with it. It's totally possible that they specifically listed that candle or that candle company in their wishlist. I've asked for certain brands of expensive markers before because drawing is one of my hobbies. It was on my wishlist so it was fair game but it might LOOK like my match grinched me to other lolitas. Just because you yourself would consider it a filler item doesn't mean it necessarily was. And there's no way any of us would know unless we had access to the giftee's wishlist.
Hi 6756 $30-$40 tier. I’ve been checking the tracking, but the package never even budged. I did ship it out on December 15, but it still just says “tracking number created” from when I printed out the label at home. I also dropped it off with another package that went overseas and it was delivered right before Christmas. I don’t know what’s going on with your gift but I’m assuming there’s no helping it. So I’m very sorry it hasn’t gotten to you. I have a small AP item worth about $45 that I bought for myself brand new which is the same as one of the items in your gift and it fits with what you wrote in your form. I did spend well over $40 on your original gift, but I can send it to you. Sorry there won’t be as many items. If you’re ok with waiting, I can try to find a few more things that you would like. I volunteered for the grinched gifts so I’m ok with shopping for you again.
>>10530649Thats called going above and beyond, anon
7699 and 2641, did your cards ever arrive? They were sent from in country but mail has been a mess for so long it's hard to tell if things are lost or just super late anymore.
>>10530752Going above and beyond is NOT just having common sense and not buying the first overpriced listing you find when you Google, and instead having common sense and looking for better prices. But I wasn’t saying everyone has to do that, I was referring to people seeing a gift that’s not over budget but the Santa was shopping savvy and just assuming they overspent and then feeling pressure that no one but them has put on themselves to buy a better gift. The only expectation most have is to expect you to put in a good faith effort to find a decent gift and not be lazy, that’s all. But what I was saying was that candle-anon caught the short end of that because people who ARE shopping savvy saw it and didn’t understand that it’s a $30 candle, they just knew they would only spend $10 so they assume the Santa did and didn’t spend the $100Going above and beyond is going over your price tier, making a bunch of handmade art, buying a bunch of filler items, etc, and no one is saying to do that. Just don’t be dumb. But also yeah I think candle-anon fucked up. If you want to spend $101 dollars just join the $75-$100 tier instead of the $100+ tier where it’s a common expectation that people spend over that amount and not exactly $100
>>10530527I can wait to snack on them! Thanks for being a constant sense of joy!
I plan to make some art for the CGL Secret Santa for next year but I'm /beg/ tier, it often takes me a long to draw anything, and I often leave most of my drawings unfinished-should I go ahead with it anyway?
>>10530804Just set your goal way lower than what you think you can do. Pick something really easy like a seagull in a Santa hat like pic related. Don't half-ass something ambitious; fully-ass something attainable.
>>10530804Do the card tier!
>>10530804Post art samplesTry to get better at artAlso, consider doing commissions so you have more money in general
>>10530777>if you want to spend money within a tier then join the tier below it because that's NOT GOOD ENOUGHI hope you never get another gift in your life you greedy idiot.
>>10530811I think what they're trying to say is that $110 gift is closer to 75-100 range than a 100+ section parcel with Milky Swan that comes for $80-200 alone.
>>10530822They’re still wrong
>>10530824No no, they have a point>>10530822the better solution is more tiers though, or at least larger gaps between the tiers (e.g., no 75-100 tier between 50-75 and 100+, so that there's a clearer separation between the two).
>>10530777>>10530822I think there should be a price gap between 75-100$ and 100+ tiers much like 30-40 and 50-75 are divided by 10$. I feel like it makes it clear that a 50$ gift might be actually more ok for the lower tier and that the people in next bracket would rather expect something of 75$ value. Just make it 75-100$ and 130$+ so 101$ gifts will be technically the 75-100 tier while the ones who want to chose the higher one will understand this gift is expected to go “up and beyond” when compared to the previous tier
>>10530835>>10530837It's >>10530822 honestly I only have a problem with 100+ category because it may cause some really big gap. You may send them like a full HC set and get some $120 blouse in return. Idk I would probably make a highest limit so people don't give anything above it. But at another hand I don't want to devalue the gesture of Santas who was willing to give what they gave, so idk what's better.
>>10530661Sorry, I don’t recognise you as the card match, did you confuse my number with another one? I didn’t have 3368 in the exchange at all...Also RIP fuck my life. My 100+ gift for a gull got in a literal LIMBO (sorry 6446, seems that the postal worker confused your country’s LIMBO for another country’s LIMBO, but the address on the box is still correct so I hope it’ll work out),and my own Santa seems to be 4505 Karl’s match. I am so disappointed and tired of everything, fuck 2020 I just wanna die at this point.
>>105308444504 is fine! They have experience at giving good gifts now, don't worry about it.2021 will be a good year, and the end of 2020 will be a good sign of things to come.
>>10530844Damn anon, that's awful. Sorry to hear about the hell you have been going through with shipping. I hope your Santa comes through with the gift. 2020 is still manifesting its unwelcome bad energy. Thank you for replying to my post, I'm going to email the organizers about the number thing. It could be that only the number portion was incorrect on the info for the card match. I didn't take note of the gull's id number who sent my card because it was the same name and address of the person I mailed my card to. I hope I wasn't supposed to send a card to you and was given the name and address of someone else. ID 6398, it's your card I'm referring to in my previous post.
We are getting some great feedback on the form. A lot of opinions are, I would guess, around 80% the same which makes it so much easier and clearer for what changed are wanted. Thank you to everyone who has filled it out. After my tantrum yesterday, we have had a ton of AMAZING helpers volunteer for grinch check too! So I think we will actually end on a much higher note!
>>10530955>After my tantrum yesterday, we have had a ton of AMAZING helpers volunteer for grinch check too! So I think we will actually end on a much higher note! That's great to hear! And don't worry about the tantrum, I'm sure anyone else in your position would rage even harder
>>10530955Are the results of the survey going to be released? I’m curious.
>>10530988Yes they will! We will put them into data, and release anything we noticed as repeat suggestions for adding/ removing. For photos of gifts that were included, Ill try and make some sort of "60% of people thought this gift was not enough/ too much" thing, so we can get a majority view of where feelings are in accordance to spoiling and what is deemed not enough for certain values etc. Then hopefully expectations will be clarified for future events!
>>10530995>>10530955Thank you so much and it was hardly a tantrum. It's been a frustrating year and with only two of you running the whole thing, it's bond to be stressful. Thank you both for organizing!
>>10530751Are you in the US by any chance? I had some issues with a few packages not moving earlier this year and was able to successfully submit a USPS mail search request via their site which led to the mailpieces being found and delivered eventually. Or maybe something equivalent if you didn't ship with USPS? Anyway maybe you can try that as well as your other suggestions if you'd like, you sound super sweet anon and best of luck with the packages!
>>10530844Don't you worry, we'll get it all sorted out! None of it is your fault so you shouldn't feel bad when its postal services doing what they do best, anything but their job :')At this point I expect it to jsut suddenly pop up at my door regardless of what the tracking says. BUT I can actually tell you it updated today, and shows that it arrived in a German post office this morning. Hopefully the people working there are smart enough to just send it along to the Belgian services and that'll be that!I hope you get your own gift soon
>>10530689Thank you so much, that seems like a good plan!
>>10530955I worry about the feedback I gave, I'm not so sure if I agree with it anymore, especially the parts about the drama this year. I'm a person who have never participated, but wrote a lot about why I haven't. The parts where I guessed the value of the gifts are things I don't agree with anymore either.
>>10530661Hi! I’m 6398 and I have a feeling you are talking about me. If so I’m delighted to know my card arrived in one piece! I had a really great time writing you, and it’s really cute to find out we are a match! I didn’t receive any tracking number, but I know my country is super annoying with delivering things on time. If you may, please ask mods to give me the tracking number or mail it for me please, so I can check and see if I can hurry up the process with my country’s postal service.
>>10531060Why did you feel the need to give feedback if you’re not participating?? Why are you lurking here if you’re not participating?? God people are weird. What makes you think your opinion on the value of other peoples gifts matters? It doesn’t, especially if you’ve never been in the position of buying things yourself
>>10531160Nta but the form allows lurkers to offer their input. And some people lurk these threads because they can't participate but would like to next year.
>>10531161Not that anon but OP said they've never participated. Their opinion is valid on the parts where the organizers want to know why someone hasn't participated.. but other than that, their opinion is pretty worthless so I don't see why they're so worried about the feedback they left, much less what they thought the value of gifts are when they've never bought or received gifts in this event.
>>10531166I know they've never participated, the anon I was replying to just wanted to know why people would lurk these threads so I gave an answer. I could see the input being valuable in the sense that unsatisfactory moderation could be what's putting them off from joining the event.
>>10531060If your opinions on stuff change this frequently, why did you even fill it out.
Been too busy with work and the thread blew up.. ITT Karl is actually a cool guy and his giftee seems a little awkward. Will fill out the form tomorrow.Suggestions -Minimum gift tier limit has to be a main CGL item, e.g. if tier is 30-40 then the gift should include a $30 main CGL item.Examples of things are- Lolitas: clothing, accessories (headwear/jewellery/others), bags, shoes, novelty items (like AP wallets and stationary and collectibles, that kind of thing) etc.Cosplayers: props, maybe clothing items or accessories etc for certain cosplays the giftee will do (like character boots, sailor moon wand and hair accessories, shields, wigs, wings, elf ears, anything at all for particular cosplays). Can also be craft items if giftee makes their items (double check what items they craft first) like worbla, Eva foam, wig styling sets, paints, etc.Add a post/sticky document to SS OP threads with information on how to shop and where to shop -E.g. Japanese sites, how to use auctions, shopping services, cute stores for fillers, Lacemarket etc. And similar shopping ideas for cosplayers/anime fans. This way there is no excuse for not knowing how and where to shop.Mods can keep notes of people such as if they've performed badly in previous years, are on a warning/strike list for undervalued and basic gifts, not posting photos, no communication, causing trouble etc.Verification that people are cosplayers or lolitas with outfit pictures as proof, with a sign on the clothes sent to the mods saying CGL SS 21 for example.
As a rule of thumb for tiers it's a decent average to get gift 150% of the tier price, $60 for 30-40 tier, $150 for 100 tier etc. This way you're not going too over budget but not spending only the minimum (otherwise you probably should select a tier down) and people can still overspend if they want to spoil.
>>10531258>Karl is actually a cool guykys
>>10531258>Minimum gift tier limit has to be a main CGL item, e.g. if tier is 30-40 then the gift should include a $30 main CGL item.Hmmm. What if someone is in the $100+ tier and wants legwear, then what, buy them one pair of $100 socks rather than buy multiple pairs? Maybe this works for the lower tiers, but maybe better wording would be $tier amount minimum spent on item(s) relevant to their interests, which I'm fairly sure is just a standard part of the rules.
>>10531260This may be how things actually go, but it's far from how they're supposed to or need to go.
>>10531260>Everyone should select a different tier from what they actually want to spend because I can't manage my expectationsCome on. The numbers are clear and they exist for a reason. If you expect a higher tier gift then select a higher tier, otherwise the tiers have no meaning.
>>10531172>>10531160I gave multiple feedbacks even though i didn't participate. I wanted to give different views so that everything balanced out.
>>10531339Agreed. The only reason you should budget for higher than your tier is shipping costs for everything
>>10531348soup stop shitposting in the ss thread
>>10531258ITT: Male lurkers defend Karl because they're also shitty gift givers
>>10531339I agree with this.>>10531260Sorry, but the thought that gifts should be around 150% of their tier in general is stupid and greedy. Tiers are there for a reason, like the other anon said.
>>10531459This. Why pressure someone to spend 75$ in the 50$ tier? Going over a little is ok but literally increasing it by 50% is ridiculous.
>>10531460So why does someone spend exactly 100 on the 100+ tier when there's a 75-100 tier? Because they know they'll get more than what they spent for their giftee.
>>10531460It's not pressuring to spend, I said it as a general suggestion, as so far this SS has either been someone being really basic or overspoiling their match. What's the thought on a 'will you spoil your giftee/spend over the amount' option for next year then? So someone who spends a lot doesn't get put with someone who spends the minimum and vice versa.Inb4 everyone turns this into a shit show, just trying to give some suggestions to make this fairer for everyone participating. Because plenty of people have complained about spending too little or less.
>>10531258If your verification requirement goes into effect, Karl won't be able to participate anymore.
>>10531273I thought it would have been obvious I didn't mean to just get a single item as long as it's lolita or cosplay specific.Sorry about the phrasing, thought it would have made sense but probably in my mind only. And I know you said that's a standard part of the rules but it's really not, the reason there's so many drama and issues every year is exactly because of this. There's also the discussion over what should be counted as main gifts and fillers which really needs to be clarified in specific detail, though only lord knows if it'll stop the sake drama next year desu.
>>10531472Damn I didn't even think of that. Thanks for the tip
>>10531474No offense to him or anyone else but if he's been taking part for years or anyone else frequenting the board, why join in something for cosplayers or lolitas then? Because that's how they end up giving bad gifts anon.
>>10531476Not like it hasn't already happened and been pointed out so DAW.
>>10531473Spoiling is done for the other person, not so you get spoilt in return. If you want to guarantee a certain value of gifts in return, just sign up for that tier?
>>10531474I guess he needs to actually start cosplaying or wearing jfashion then or suck it up? Or maybe allow card tiers without photos since it's just a card and he can stay in card tier until he actually does his Pyramid Head cosplay?
>>10531486demote all the dumb bitches to card tier
>>10531487Yeah if we assume Karl has no malicious intent, then we are also assuming he's just dumb, which I feel bad about, but not bad enough to let him venture outside the card tier. He can always choose to give extras with his cards as many card tiers already do if he really is that much in the spirit of giving.
>>10530476why is everyone bald or is it cause they’re mald? nice >>10531383the real shitposters are the anons crying about their gifts.
>>10531480>>10531474These are both correctI may not have been able to get into it this year because of COVID, but this also would've filtered out my shitty gift the first year, then if I were still into things after lurking more I would've been able to participate later.
Hmmm, I know some people can prefer gifts from their other interests outside of /cgl/ and not just get all JFash or Cosplay items.. So what about adding some options to the sign up form like:> How would you like the contents of your gift divided?a. 20% /cgl/ interests, 80% other interests b. 50% /cgl/ interests, 50% other interests c. 80% /cgl/ interests, 20% other interests and> What sort of gifts would you prefer?a. I would prefer more larger itemsb. I would prefer 50/50c. I would prefer more smaller items
>>10531512These could also be additional options on the form SartyPhark
>>10531512i think there should also be a "mostly cgl" option so people don't feel like 20% other is requiredthere should also be a no preference option
>>10531512how about letting someone competent host it?
>>10531537Troll response but just in case, they're volunteers and literally no one else stepped up to run it.
>>10531160NAYRT but I have never participated because I don't want to be matched with some casual anime dude who doesn't know jfashion. If the users were vetted as actual lolitas or cosplayers I would love to finally join
>>10531524>>10531512Something like >80% cgl or whichever number you want to put there. But I feel like it being >60% cgl should be a given, since this is a cgl exchange after all.
>>10531472No. >So why does someone spend exactly 100 on the 100+ tier when there's a 75-100 tier? The same could be asked for people who spend $50 on their $50-$75 tier. Would it be nicer if they spend more like $60-$70? Sure.Do they have to? No. Because they fulfilled the tier requirements. Is paying $50 in the $50-$75 tier being cheap? Maybe, but nonetheless according to rules and no offense. It is LITERALLY that easy, anon. I don't know how one can not understand this.>>10531483>Spoiling is done for the other person, not so you get spoilt in return. >If you want to guarantee a certain value of gifts in return, just sign up for that tier? This. If you sign up for $100+ tier and get a $101 gift, that is okay. Complaining about it just makes you look like a greedy bitch.
>>10531015Yeah and I used USPS. I submitted a lost package form yesterday. I’m sure it will take some time to settle because a lot of packages seem to be in limbo right now. Thanks! I just want my giftee to be happy.
>>10531512I'm against this.At most I'd go with the x% cgl-related gift, but a certain degree of cgl-relation should be a given without making it a rule.Letting giftees decide whether they want more larger/smaller items is unnecessary imho. Implementing this rule can also fuel later drama, for example if Santa isn't able to give a larger item (because let's say a wishlist item simply isn't available). Even smaller gifts can be well selected and fitting. Restricting a tier like that also decreases the creative room and shopping options for Santas.
>>10531601Yeah the extra about large or small should be a footnote more than a hard and fast rule. Most of this is about the fun and surprise; being so specific about ratio of item sizes if they all presumably qualify seems pointless.
Getting a few new rules to fix drama sources is good, but let's not overdo it gulls.
>>10531615Else the scales get completely unbalanced and giftees have a lot of room to complain and demand another gift if Santa doesn't adhere to regulation no. x out of x.
>>10531615Good point. What should be put in place so pissy entitled giftees - or normal ones unintentionally - don't start drama in the threads (as amusing as it can be to read)
>>10531512c and then bReally anything more than 20% non /cgl/ shouldn't even be allowed in the SS, that should be the max. I don't want teas and facemasks, I want random loliable jewelry/ accessories and brand everything else
>>10530844just letting you know that the tracking has updated again, and it looks like its making its way to Belgium! So far so good :)
>>10530751Hi anon, sorry for replying so late, I didn’t know you posted! I’m not sure what’s happening either, but please don’t send over your own item or anything new as a replacement! There’s still some time, maybe something will change about the package up until grinch check. When that gets closer, we’ll worry about it then. :)
>>10531512First question is unnecessary. It's better to just have the giftee's interests dictate what the Santa purchases. If someone wants /cgl/ stuff, their interests will already list that.>Larger vs smaller itemsThis should just be a box checked with "I like stocking stuffers". If you put too many rules on the Santas, the giftees might as well just shop for themselves.
>>10530755Hey! Unfortunately no, but I have also had a horrible time with mail in my country as well. A lot of stuff has been damaged and one of my gifts sent was even destroyed/lost so I'm disappointed but not surprised in the least it isn't here.
5613, thank you so very much for the lovely gift! In your message you say that I might be wondering why it’s so small; I just wanted to let you know that I didn’t actually think it was lacking at all, and everything is so nice! It really brought a smile to my face today, and was such a delight to receive. I LOVE the Nichol Bolas keychain, I didn’t even know there was a keychain version but I’ve already clipped him on my bag! I just finished trying out the grape-mango fruit buttons, oh my goodness, those are gooood. The earrings are absolutely adorable and I have the Kodama ones in right now! The design is so cool! I’m excited to try the hot chocolate as well as put the stickers on something fun, maybe my sewing machine cover! I’ve been doing some scrapbooking over the holidays, and I just love the science stickers, they will be well used! Finally, thank you for your kind note, I particularly loved the “—> you —> me” part, hahahah. I’ll be reaching out to you after this! Thanks again and have a great 2021!
6800, I just got your bookmark. I'll send it via snail mail! Hope you get it by next week friday!
Thank you for the wonderful card #6800! The art is perfect and your note made me smile. The botanical postcard is so pretty! I love all the stickers, especially the baby Andalites. So adorable!! I will put them on my laptop. Thank you again and good luck with your embroidery!
Each and every gift I sent out was individually wrapped. The same pair of scissors I used to cut the wrapping paper with is also the pair I use to trim my pubes and I have never once washed the blades. You will never know which santa I am.
Dear #3497Just received your card! Thank you for the cute card and stickers! (I just glued one of them on my laptop) I really loved everything and I will write you back soon, so stay tuned next!
>>10532783And I'm stupid, I meant #9009
>>10532730that seagull art is so pretty!
>>10532480Which tier was this?
>>10532778A gull can dreamThanks for making me happy today
>>10531512Isn't it too strictly for SECRET Santa? I mean we already fill out huge form about what we like and what not, there should be some part of surprise IMO.
>>10533065Yeah the rules getting too specific are kind of not ideal for the type of event this is. Too many specific rules just make normal santas stress out. We should just ban or semi permanently tier restrict seriously problematic people, grinches, and repeat offenders (*cough cough* Karl, but also his whiny picky match) and just operate in good faith with moderate/reasonable rules for santas AND giftees
>>10532778God I hope you were my santa
>>10533068That's a suggestion I can get behind.Restrict troublemakers of any kind to cards for the next year and see how it goes. If this second chance goes bad, f*ck them. Permaban. If it goes well, then 1-2 tiers available the following year.We don't have to make it super complicated, gulls. With those rules people will know what happens if they don't put any effort into it. Simple as that.
>>10531512I should reiterate, this was just a suggestion for the form and would no way be a hard rule.. I was more thinking as a guide for the Santa as it was discussed earlier as what is acceptable. But we definitely don't have to add it on, it looks like most people are against it anyways.
>Me seeing the Santa that spoiled me got spoiled themselves. Ah. As it should be.
>>10533372My gifty ghosted the mods and didn't send out shit. Feels absolutely bad, especially since I went all out for them
>>10533411There was only one mutual match according to the organizers, were you it? Otherwise it’s not the same person.
>>10533412Not sure what you're talking about desu, I'm just salty I put in effort for a twat
>>10533414Now I’m sure you’re just trolling to cause drama.
I was paired with two russian anons, and one of them mentioned that their geographical position somehow blocks them from posting on 4chan. She had been a read only participant in /cgl/ for a long time, and suspiciously I haven't seen her posting about recieving my card... Not wholly unrelated, the other russian match I had hasn't posted her gift which arrived this week either. I'm worried they're both held back by things out of their control.Would there be some kind of workaround, such as them emailing the organisers with what they would like to post?
>>10533422That's weird. Last time I participated I had two Russian anons as well as giftees and they posted just fine. The only issue I had with them was that my gifts sat in their local post offices for a while before they went to collect but I think they said it was some sort of postal holiday.
>>10533448Oops, dropped image like a saddle goose
>>10533445Speaking of I think it's Russian christmas during this time of January. Could be that.
>>10533422Just curious what was your price for shipping to Russia?
>>10533450The person you bought a gift for isn’t the same person who’s supposed to buy a gift for you
>>10533556I know? They grinched their gifty
>>10531512This is a slope with an indeterminate bottom, and yall would be in the cavern layer before you knew something was wrong
Hey 1383. I sent out your card tier gift by the cut off date. Any luck on getting it just yet? I know postage has been slow but I still would feel bad if it got lost or something.
From #5910, 100+ tierI got home last night after a 10 hour work day to this, I wasn’t expecting it until Monday so it was a pleasant surprise! Everything was wrapped beautifully and my cat was playing with the ribbons while I opened them. You have good tastes, really! I do love alice unironically, I play blackjack occasionally with my friends so the deck of cards is perfect. Unfortunately I had to return my new phone and get a different one (carrier issue) but I want to hang the phone case on my inspo wall. I didn’t already have anything you got for me, from the snacks to the makeup I’m really taken aback! I’m excited to wear / use everything, the bag is the perfect color too. BTW do you have a shoo for your jewelry? It really is super nice! (Chick chan in the middle) Your thoughtful gift gives me inspiration for future SS and I really appreciate the thought and effort you put into it. If you don’t mind I’d love to send you a card sometime! Thank you.
>>10533752Wrapped gifts and my cat!
>>10533752Holy heck that bag is so cute. Is the brand Sheep Puff?
>>10533753Blessed catto omg what a cutie
>>10533753>>10533766anon’s cat is alright but have you seen my catto, now that’s a real qt pie
>>10533756Yes it is!
>>10533752I'm so glad to hear that you like what I chose! Also really happy there is nothing you already own as that was one of major worries when buying the Alice stuff. There is a lot of brand stuff with Alice but at the same time, not a lot?? If that makes sense?? And I was convinced whatever I chose, you'd own already, so thankfully I guess I chose the right things? At the moment I dont have a shop, but some time in future I hope! And of course, sorry it took so long to get to you! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas anyways, and happy New Year!!
>>10533772>have you seen this stray cat i won't help but will take photos of?
>>10534006it's not a stray, it's an outdoor cat
Dear #2154 Santa!Thank you so much for your present! I haven`t expected to receive such an amazing gift, that fully match my tastes! Everything is super nice, cute and aww I`m so thankful! It was the best christmas surprise for me :)
From #3977 to me, #4618>$75-100 price rangeI don't like sweet or cutesy stuff (put that in my form) so I was surprised to open up a box full of Sanrio themed wrapping paper. This is the first skincare filler I've gotten this year though.
>>10534254I got a baggie full of candy, two filler packs of face masks, a Sanrio cardand then the gifts are a $20 hot pink and gunmetal ring set from Listen Flavor, a $20 choker from SexPot Revenge, and OTKs for a dress I don't own because my only listed interests are "old school gothic lolita", "silver metal accessories", and "dark color tones (black, grey, red, green)"Maybe I'm just having a bad day.
>>10534262>one pair of socks>filler jewellery>$100 tierJesus christ, I feel for you anon
>>10534262Ah anon,, my condolences.
>>10534262Idk how anyone looks like what seem to be Holy lantern socks and see them as old school gothic lolita. I understand the santa may not have had wrapping paper on hand to match any giftees interest but in the $100 tier I'd expect them to be willing to purchase packaging materials to align with the giftees aesthetic or at just not wrap them and leave them in the original packaging they shipped in at that point.
>>10534262imagine waiting for so long and then opening this, wow. main gift parts and wrapping already commented on, but also they really just grabbed a handful of haribo fun mix, put it in a ziploc bag and just put it in like that?that's a -1 effort gift right there I'm so sorry anon
>>10534262Your santa wouldn't happen to be the one complaining about Kyle..? Because this is the sort of gift I would expect from that person.Man, you'd like to think that if something is going to be shipped a month after the deadline it would at least not be garbage. But it's basically the opposite, people who care take the time to make sure things arrive by the deadline. Maybe the deadline should be more solid and a grinch check can be done earlier, because yikes.
>>10534262desu this is bad but better than the shit Karl sent out. idk why anons are so adamant on defending Karl
>>10534291No, I had Kyle as a giftee, not a Santa. This was from someone with a feminine name so not a male anon. I've had time to cool down a little and correct myself after checking my sign-up form. I didn't specify no sweet/cutesy stuff in my form, but I did get asked by one of my santas what aesthetics I like so I made a collage of general Jfashion designs I liked and didn't like, and Holy Lantern was on it just as a general aesthetic (but it also showed I did NOT like cutesy/sweet/pastel stuff). So I'm guessing that's where they thought I might want the OTKs even though I didn't say I owned any of the prints listed - just that I liked how they looked. But I did specify on my form that the ONLY dark tones I liked were black, red, green, and grey and that the only metal accessories I liked were silver colored ones.I also named about 25-ish non-Jfashion interests ranging from Disney to anime/video games and some Youtuber collab designs I liked as well that were all readily available. So I guess I'm annoyed that out of so much info I gave them I ended up with things that were roughly related but didn't match what I wanted at all? Like if I was difficult to shop for, they could have just bought me some Overwatch figurines, some Disney merch, something..
>>10534291afaik this is the first time the shipping deadlines hasn't been that solid, because of the obvious. We can't say for sure this gift wasn't shipped out till after the deadline though, can we? I'm still waiting on both my gifts and one of my santas send their gift out in November!
>>10534294>anonsit's just him samefagging obviously
>>10534291Oh sorry, I misread your post as asking if it was from Kyle. Kyle's complainer is #4504 if I remember right and my gift is from #3977. I checked for mentions of them and only found them getting their own $75-100 gift in a past thread. So I don't think anyone else has gotten their gift from #3977 yet.>>10534299The gift was shipped out Dec 21st because they contacted the organizers to say there was a delay in gifts getting to them first. It's been trapped in USPS hell until today.
>>10534298to be fair they did match the colors on the accessories, and I guess they saw holy lantern and ran with it because black?
>>10534303wonder what they had to wait on so long themselves, its not like they ordered much!... seems they didn't start putting it together till far too late
>>10534309The rings are hot pink and gunmetal. The choker does match what I asked though, I will say that.
>>10534309Are you the Santa? Gunmetal does not equal silver, and hot pink is just ???
>>10534316mfw there's color options gull asked for right in color selection option
>>10534262>>10534254Guaranteed 2-3 shitty gifts every year This is sad lmao
>>105221795059, i totally didn't see your post 2-3 threads ago and i'm so sorry i didn't reply, i was actually worried you hadn't posted lol! i'm so happy it got to you safely and that you liked all your gifts. happy holidays!
Thank you for the drawing!! And the stickers!! I loved everything!!! I'm going to glue them on ly kindle!! And I would love to be friends with you!! I'll be writing back soon.Card match #4562
>>10534262What I'm so sorry you don't like the gift. I thought you liked holy lantern? I really tried my best. It was hard because your style is very different from mine.
>>10534294This isn't better than the stuff Karl gave wtf? And he offered to buy extra gifts. To be fair the holy lantern socks could have gone for a lot of that 75-100, but the rest is filler. Also that candy in a zip lock bag lmao is this Puvithel?
>>10534262Wow. I gave more than this, and I’m in the $30 tier...
>>10534565The mood board and requests they made sound confusing. Not Santa. >mood board with holy lantern>doesn't want holy lantern item which can match more than holy lantern
>>10534011Cats should be indoors only. You should know this in 2021
>>10534600I agree. Why put holy lantern into the moodboard if you don’t want holy lantern stuff???
>>10534011i hope it gets killed and you find it's dead body.
>>10534621Anon don't be crude and let's discuss these presents
>>10534298I was originally on your side when I first saw the pictures, but after reading this post, I can't really blame your Santa. Sounds like they had good intentions and tried to follow the suggestions on your list but you either weren't specific enough or were just plain misleading like with that Holy Lantern collage.
>>10534616supporting indoor cats is like supporting what China is doing to the Ugandan people. indoor cats are usually taken away from their family when they are young. separated from their mothers and fathers they are pushed into master slave relationships where they have to act cute otherwise their “masters” won’t feed them. my outdoor cats can fend for themselves and they live in a catmunity with their love ones. It’s 2021 wake up anon>>10534621LOL everyone dies eventually
>>10534262On one hand: $40 of accessories + $40(?) socks is totally within the price range, wrapping is not for wearing so why critique it, gunmetal is basically dark silver, and the ring listing literally says "[RED]" in the screenshot......on the other hand, this is in no way old school gothic lolita or even new school gothic lolita for that matter.I think Santa made an honest effort but should have consulted with the organizers if it was difficult to choose presents.
>>10534546Yay, I'm so glad you like it!! I'm so sorry it came late, but I'm glad it looks like it wasn't damaged in transit :) happy new year!!!! :D
>>10534647>gunmetal is basically dark silveryou realize how dumb you sound?
>>10534647Tbh I think this is on them not knowing how to describe what they want and giving incorrect(?) info. No wonder Santa struggled.
>>10534298Your gift is pretty bad, but bitching about the wrapping paper is shitty of you. You throw it away anyway.
>>10534558I apologize for being overly harsh but I think there was a misunderstanding and I guess I wish you had just gotten me non Jfashion instead of pushing yourself to shop for a style that is very different to your own. I appreciate that you tried but the colors don't match what was on my list and the socks I don't have anything to wear with currently.>>10534600>>10534619I was asked what motifs I like by one of my giftees who never ID'ed themselves. I never specified I wanted Holy Lantern in particular, only that I liked "crosses/rosaries". I also made that post back in October and was never asked to clarify.
>>10534653>>10534661This, plus the childish attitude doesn't help her case.
>>10534653This is what I had on my form. Sorry if I seem like I'm defending myself but none of my other giftees had an issue so I don't think I'm that difficult.I also linked my Insta where I had punk and old school lolita and related fashions for inspo.
>>10534662lmao, chess chocolate is not goth. chocolate themes aren't royal themes either.
>>10534558Look, I don't want to be ungrateful. Can I mail my gifts back to you if you can use them or know someone that can? Or you can just sell them off and get your money back. I'd rather just put the event behind me at this point.
>>10534680>I don't want to be ungrateful>Is the literal definition of ungrateful
>>10534669so you had LF on your form and HL on your collage and they got you both?
>>10534662Ok so they're helping you expand with things you put you liked. Keep it and as your wardrobe grows you can wear those items with things. Just send a pic of your closet next time.
>>10534686anon sounds poor.
>>10534688Maybe I'm just a hoarder but it makes sense to me. Gomen.
>>10534680niceu new dramu to read. very bold move anon let’s see how it pans out
>>10534680Lmao I feel bad for your Santa. We get that you're butthurt but would it kill you to have even a bit more tact?
>>10534684I had Holy Lantern on it with "I like this motif aspect, I like crosses and rosaries" which somehow I didn't think someone would take literally, when someone offhandedly just asked and then never followed up on. I guess that's my bad because I never asked specifically why they wanted to know. I should've said what I owned in my closet which is only a grand total of two dresses at the moment after I downsized. >>10534686I guess but I'm not the type to hold onto something just in case I could need it further down the line (I have issues with not wanting clutter) so I'd rather just return everything and let them get their money back by selling it or regifting it to friends.
>>10534699>grand total of two dressesThis drama just keeps on giving. If you only own two dresses how was your gifter supposed to find you incredibly specific items to match them without knowing what they were?
>>10534705Because I put it in my form - old school gothic?
>>10534699you sound autistic as fuck honestly. i can't believe that you wouldn't think, especially in this fashion, that prints themselves aren't the more important thing. i especially don't believe that you went out of your way to find pictures of specific prints you don't actually like. if you wanted to show what motifs you like, why not use pictures of prints you actually like? it's also kind of interesting that literally every other print in your collage would feasibily be owned by the same dark-leaning, sweet lolita. not to mention literally nothing is gothic at all. (hurdur crosses r goff) you just sound salty that you got socks that you have nothing to wear with because you don't own anything.
>>10534707then post visual pictures of old school gothic? you keep saying that but you just seem to like edgy crosses and shit.
>>10534707And filled your aesthetic collage with sweet prints
>>105347172010s OTT sweet prints no less.
>>10534713>>10534716I was asked specifically for fashion motifs and said I'd never been asked that before. So I literally went on google images and just typed in "jfashion motifs" and saved the ones where I liked the colors or the design bits. That's why there's a list beside it saying "I like this aspect"My form also linked Jfashion inspo posts I'd made that shared those same motif aspects and none of them were lolita. If I'd known it would cause this much confusion and mess I wouldn't have made the collage they asked for.
>>10534707You sound like you have no idea what you’re talking about. You even called milky planet “candyland print” in your collage. Even non-sweets know what milky planet is. And you keep saying old school goth but put a bunch of AP sweet prints as your “yesses”
>>10534662idk like for this tier level and collage, i would not presume to give someone accessories that match a specific print primarily. I feel like anon pretty clearly conveyed that these are dresses/themes they're into rather than specific wardrobe items they're trying to match. Getting black+[color or white] moitie socks that are more versatile would have been a good fit, or one of the cheaper/indie main pieces that fits this theme. I think gifting holy lanturn socks in a colorway that's clearly not their preferred shades is a stretch, especially as the bulk of the gift.
>>10534730One of the yes prints is literally Doki Doki Strawberry Magic; you literally can't get much more sugary sweet than a berry and chocolate crossover print desu
>>10534730anon, listen. i get that, but that's kind of tedious honestly. i am really particular like that but to my close friends or boyfriend (who still sometimes straight up just show me potential gifts for approval). anon isn't going to be able to research things based on your vague specifications because she doesn't know you at all. also i am kind of not buying it because there are tons of old school gothic scans of coords and accessories that you could have found.
>>10534736Candyland is a board game, anon. I didn't name the prints specifically because I wasn't being specific about prints. It's the items in the prints I was referring to. I was asked to supply fashion motifs (meaning designs and patterns) I did or didn't like. So I just grabbed what I thought they meant. The punk brands I like use all those motifs.
>>10534739how would santa know to give moitie if all their "gothic" motif examples are AP?
>>10534739update the page hadn't refreshed in a while when i posted this and now that ive read the more recent comments/form details/etc, yikes and nevermind
I think I know who this anon might be... there is a lolita who recently downsized, changed to "gothic", is autistic af, and seems like someone who would sperg about this
>>10534748These are from the inspo posts I specifically linked in my secret santa form. I hope this clears up what I'm trying to explain that the motif aspects in the collage I made translating into what I specified was my personal style on my form. You can see where "sweet" motif items carry over and that's why they were there.
>>10534758Ah yes, old school gothic. Anon you're a fucking moron.
>>10534758I'd say that the santa's gifts match quite well to this though. I get that you didn't get what you thought you were asking for, but this makes your gift make a lot of sense.
>>10534758anon this is quite literally sweet
>>10534730So basically you wanted goth old school or punk/goth non-lolita jfashion, and you thought the best way to indicate that would be to make a collage of a bunch of super sweet prints. But it’s not your fault because you googled “jfashion” and that’s what popped up so there’s nothing else you could have done.Makes sense
>>10534758This is literally old school sweet, some spoopy jewelry, and LF you dolt
>>10534758There’s hot pink in this and it’s pretty much the only color. I wonder why they got you a hot pink ring?
>>10534774>posts pic of lucky pack sampler>They must want hot pink!
>>10534769how is that sweet? it's mostly black and has crosses. literally gothic egirl aesthetic
>>10534796Soup I know you're still learning about lolita and all, but please stop being retarded.
>>10534800don't reply to soup posts. never reply to soup posts.
Popular consensus seems to be that this is solely my fault and that Santa did a good job trying to cater to me, so I'll accept popular consensus. This is the first gift I received this year where I felt like it didn't hit the mark for the price point or my interests but I guess it should have and I apologize for posting it without being grateful for just having received it. I'm going to be returning everything by Wednesday and I'll email the organizer with the tracking info. I'd also like to be blacklisted from the event since I'm pretty sure I broke some rules in being a giftee grinch. My ID is #4618 and if my other Santas would please contact the organizers to pass on their addresses, I'd like to return the gifts they sent me for the $50-75 and $100+ tiers as well. Thank you.
>>10534758this is literally all over the place. and the ring here isn't even silver lmao.
>>10534786So of all the pictures that could be picked, you chose one of a hot pink shirt and the Santa is just supposed to understand that since it’s a lucky pack shirt you don’t really want it or even that color at all. You are so retarded, like seriously you’re an ita who knows nothing about lolita or jfashion
>>10534804this is a lot of nothing to say you're going to autisticly flounce out of the thread.
>>10534804>i don't want to find new homes for the items i don't like, so it's Santa's job now
>>10534804oh c'mon anon don't be a lor. just sell the gifts if you don't like it or something.>>10534800you're so nice anon>>10534802hehe
Hey 5613,I have just pulled your card from the mailbox and it was really a quest not to hurt any lovely kitties while opening but I managed! No cringes but all laughs, I’m more of a Lady Plebswalker though haha! Thank you for such a warm card, it really made my day and I loved everything you added very much! Dumb question, how do you use leather stickers?? Do they have any special usage or they just like regular stickers? Anyway, thank you so much for everything once again! You also happen to be my card match too this year so I’m looking forward to you getting my card as well - it has just arrived to your country at 09th! Merry Christmas and happy 2021!P.S. I’ll be sure to befriend you, my MtGA will be crazy cat lady (cringe sorry lol)
>>10534804>and I apologize for posting it without being grateful for just having received it.and yet you still didn't thank your santa properly for the gift
>>10533422Hi! I’m pretty sure I’m the read-only anon you mentioned, the long country holidays are finally over and I came to my SO’s office to post from the corporate web. I had six card matches this year but the only card I received so far is >>10534846 and it came in the mail today, but I’ll be sure to post others as soon as they arrive! I heard that your giftee got their gifts safe’n’sound and that they liked everything as well. I’m not sure as to why they haven’t posted (if still) as we’re not that close but I thought I’d let you know anyway.
>>10534804You probably grinched your giftees anyway you cunt. You're lucky you got something even if it was late. Who had this cunt for their Santa? Name and shame. They must have sent the cheapass bag and candle awhile back.
>>10534804seconding organizers name and shame their gifts like the other grinch gull
>>10534862i don't think she did, because she would have posted huge walls of text about it.
>>10534804You liked the other gifts but you're going to return them? What? Your Santa doesn't want them either, they bought them according to your tastes.
>>10534866she's throwing a tantrum, anon. autists do that.
I like how this went from "I gave more than this in the $30 tier" and "my condolences anon" to everyone jumping on anonymous for not being thrilled over receiving subpar priced gifts as if the gifter splurged on them. The duality of gulls
>>10534662>>10534758You are literally retarded. I take back my criticism of your santa, I was expecting you to be a gothic lolita a la moitie and atelier boz, not a "sweet but in black = gothic" retard. Those gifts matched the second inspo board perfectly. And doki doki strawberry and chess chocolate literally have sweets on them and half those prints are sweet, you have brain damage
>>10534866Let them get it back rather than some ungrateful cunt keep things that could go to grinched anons who need gifts or be sold.
>>10534865She did. She had to have. I know she did.
>>10534865She did. I'm still waiting on gifts from her. $100+ tier.
>>10534881she's a grinch i knew it
those gifts were shitty up until the point someone started stirring shit against op
>>10534884she stirred shit herself
>>10534884times change, bitch.
>>10534884The value does seem below the tier, but the op stirred shit herself and is reaping what she sowed.
>>10534892I agree with this, but the tier is 75-100 and just the socks and rings and choker are like what... 80?
>>10534884They may not be super amazing, but they match what the anon asked for pretty much, especially in the 2nd collage thing, and they fall within the budget. OP stirred shit herself by being an ungrateful bitch
>>10534892i was honestly defending her at first, but she's so autistic she needed to show off her amazing taste to prove how bad the gifts were.
>>10534900the choker is probably 30, socks 35, rings 20, then all the other stuff, within the range for sure if purchased new
>>10534565How are the jewelry pieces filler? it's not like they are 2$ items, and anon did say she liked the brands they are from, etc...
>>10534669>>10534758yeah your santa did nothing wrong. You're just a karen. Don't enter next time and just buy yourself some stuff. >>10534558You did fine.
>>10534920this. anon got burando and gave someone a grocery store candle.
>>10534892Same she could have just emailed the organizers and got some sort of agreement made with the santa, the one gripe I would have had is the dumb candy packaged creepily. This isn’t even bad enough to post in the thread, this girl is just being a picky bitch.
>>10534965>This isn’t even bad enough to post in the threadNot what I meant, I meant to say call out her Santa for in the degree that she did
hey 4618, I'm the one who gave you the gunpla. You can send me $50-75 through paypal! Just ask the organizers for my email as it's my paypal email. Though, I'd advise against it heavy. But sending paypal money for the tier is way better than sending gunpla that lost 75% of value as soon as you opened them. All the fun comes with building one from scratch, I could sell it as secondhand but the only reason people buy secondhand is if it's an ancient kit or they're missing a certain piece or part of it broke. You can send back the socks if you wore them though as that'd be a nice present xD and keep the book. It's funny though, the reason I got into Gunpla was to stop me from making a stink at people. Then, it became a fun way to kill time. Remember to breathe and calm down before you do anything, sorry you were called out! Playing with fire and the like.
>>10535035>You can send back the socks if you wore them though as that'd be a nice presentwhat
Well Anons, I'm now really scared to send the last of my gifts after what I've seen from the giftees. Please defend me if they are disappointed, I really tried my best and I can show proof!
>>10535035I don't recall this case. What happend?
>>10535070>>10534804I'm just their 50-75 match and they want to return the gifts
>>10535035wait she wants to return both of her gifts?bro this isnt the point of secret santaif you dont get what you like then you wrote your form fucked up, or you expected them to buy very specific things that you should just have bought yourself.
>>10535035>You can send back the socks if you wore them though as that'd be a nice present
>>10534804Why don't you sell the items yourself? It's essentially free money. That's what I do when I receive a gift I don't like.
>>10534871It’s almost as if people adjust their opinions when more information is presented
>>10534758>>10534669>>10534662WTF, with the Listen Flavor t-shirts, Japanese Halloween aestetics, Sexpot Revenge and dark sweet prints including HL as the motifs you like I'd get exactly the same creepy-cute vibe as your santa probably did. This gift may seem not as splendid as others in the same tier, but its all brand and definitely matches what you wrote...
>>10534871Its because despite liking "old school gothic" they did nothing to show the person what that was, so the initial response was not the full story. They really did get what they asked for, spoopy gothic and LF stuff. Also looking back, the attitude about getting angry at wrapping paper was very childish.
>>10535039Fuck you you're past the deadline anyway
>>10534907anon said the ring was $20 set and the choker was $20 >>10534316 >>10534262
>>10535153LOL it's not like my gift has been in customs for 5 weeks or anything. You gulls really like starting drama from people trying their best. I got my gull stuff that she already opened and posted.
>>10535035>You can send back the socks if you wore them though as that'd be a nice present xDBan men from participating in this.
>>10534662Just for posterity I was your $100+ santa and I was the one who asked about motifs; I did find the collage helpful to narrow your tastes down some.
I originally declined helping the grinched out until I saw gifts like >>10529790 and felt pretty badBut then you have idiots like >>10534254 >>10534262 who make me reconsider...well, I'll just wait until the deadline and see how many gifts the mods are gonna need help withOn a good note, my gift is out for delivery after being in limbo for almost a month!
I can’t do anything about it now, but I’m really worried about how I packed my gifts. I wrapped everything in cute paper I specially ordered from an indie designer to match the theme, using matching ribbons and tape etc to make it all pretty, but one of the gifts was a bigger brand bag that wasn’t very wrappable. I put everything I’d wrapped INSIDE the bag, wrapped the bag lightly in tissue paper and then shipped it in a bubble mailer, but I’m terrified that the recipient will think I’m sloppy. I drew them a little New Year postcard and wrote a Christmas card and a letter to go with everything, so I did try to make sure it was all cute, I’m just worried it being in a bubble mailer will ruin everything.
This year I signed up only for card matches, and I'm so glad I did, so many ungrateful gulls, men fucking up the thread, this is not how the Secret Santa used to be.
>>10535164so sockanon isn't even the one who asked?
>>10535188Correct. I’m 9670 and it was me who asked, for the $100+ tier.
>>10535169The $30-40 tier one is within the budget too except that gull already owned the patterns. What's the difference?
>>10535190what did you get them? did they shit talk it too?
>>10535186seriously. i didn't get to participate this year because i moved, but damn everyone itt sure seems entitled towards strangers. the amount of people bitching about gifts that aren't even theirs is particularly high. i feel like everyone is a spoiled 20 year old or something.
>>10535192I think my gift to them was in the previous thread; they said they liked it!
>>10535173You sound mentally ill
>>10535191>what's the differenceIt was already discussed that you can usually find those patterns on sale for $2 but in classic Karl fashion, he found them on Amazon which is notorious for overpricing things. Those bows are like the ones he had gotten the last time (cheap and meant for little girls' hair) and the Pusheen hat is something you can find at any weeb storeSurely he could've learned his lesson and looked for something better this time around but clearly he didn't
>>10535203Clearly they were lying to you then. They're a cunt who doesn't appreciate gifts. They probably threw it all out. Say goodbye to your money.
>>10535213he's a retarded crossboarder who thinks he is quirky and clever. the fact that we know he's a crossborder and a man should be enough to warrant him being excluded.
>>10534758My god anon, you're so fucking dumb
>>10535206Attention to detail and caring about the presentation of gifts isn’t mental illness, anon.
>>10535215This was the gift >>10517642Has some "cutesy" stuff in it.
>>10534758This makes me sad, because I would have likely given you a very similar gift as your santa did, based on this collage.
>>10535206Lmao obvious troll is obvious.
>>10535233Literally everything in >>10534262 matches that gift too, the only difference are the cutest pink fillers. Is OP just too retarded to make a nice outfit?
>>10534804>>10534876>>10535215I know who you are and you need to knock it off. I'm not returning my other gifts or asking to be blacklisted for being a grinch. >>10534878>>10534881>>10534882 I sent out all my gifts so stop stirring shit and impersonating me and making up lies. I know it's you.I've returned #3977's gifts to them via priority mail because they're NWT and they can be resold for their money back.
>>10534669>>10534662Fuck I feel sorry for your santa, that taste is all over the place. It sounds like you've expected old school gifts but nothing but a slight mention among many others in the questionnaire points to it.
>>10535270It’s like OP saw the pink wrapping paper and was blinded by rage lol. And if anything, wrapping paper has always been more of a reflection of the gifter than the giftee.
>>10535274can you give up? no one cares about this. stop trying to cause drama.
>>10535274You know, even if everyone gives you the benefit of the doubt that you got impersonated for that post, you realize that the ungrateful and woefully style misguided style understandings are fully yours and the reason you're getting ragged on, right?
>>10535278This. I used wrapping paper my family had in the house because I thought it was cute. I never really thought about whether or not it fit the "theme" of the gift.
>>10534877For real. I knew from the bst & lm threads that there were karens lurking, but this..
>mfw I'm glad I only signed up for cards this yearI wanna invite the orga gulls to a drink...
>>10535264Freaking out about an envelope isn’t normal behaviour.
>>10535281No their a femKarl and lucky they got anything. 2022 should kick out all males, cosplayers, and non-lolitas. ruining it for everyone.
While I know it’s super unlikely now, I kinda hope there is a small White Day exchange just to show some redemption in this bullshit
>>10535278this. I used fucking peppa pig paper
>>10535329I don't think there's been a White Day exchange since 2017 or 2018.
>>10535278If I've received my dream dress in star wars wrapping paper I wouldn't give a flying fuck.
>>10535301This is my last time doing SS desu, between these hoes and the fact I got grinched in my comm's SS, I'm done
>>10534858Oh! Okay! I'm honestly not surprised the two of you are in touch/are friends or the like, because I liked you both as my matches. Birds of a feather flock together, and if I were a bird near you I'd hang around! If she's gotten the gifts safely I can stop worrying, and patiently wait for her to post in peace.I hope my card to you reaches you soon. I think you'll really like it.
>>10530454NEW THREAD! >>10535506
15-25 tierI feel this gift a bit strange but also quite cute. Also it was wrapped with cute little cat stickers on wpapping that I liked a lot. Anyway thank you Santa!Wine blouse isn't my size, bodyline bolero fits good, necklace is mostly sweet but I think I can make it work. Aaaaand one cocoa ginger herbal tea bag:D It's a pity that it's only one because smells great:)
