So has anyone else grabbed the re-release of the LOTR skirt from IM?
>>10500878I want to get a cape for winter, but I can't really see myself leaving my house since covid cases are up.
>>10500882Sorry for spoonfeeding but do you have a link? I looked on their taobao but didn't see about a rerelease, maybe I'm looking in the wrong place
>>10500941Never mind I found it, sorry for dumb. I'm really excited for a rerelease because I have wanted to buy this as a present for my friend for years but it never comes up secondhand
>>10500925do you have a porch or a park bench nearby? it's so nice to just sit outside and look at the world sometimes.
>>10500925If your parks aren't too crowded and you aren't in an area of the world where there's actual lockdown you could go there with a mask pretty safely as long as you keep your distance.
>>10500948>>10500954I do and I am, but the lockdown hasn't started yet. Fuck it, I'm getting that cape.
>>10500956Worse comes to worst just wear it as a blanket as the world goes to shit around you. It'll be at least more stylish than a slanket and you'll be ready if you need to bolt.
Baby are starting off the Christmas season with their new kumya print, coming out tomorrow. I think it's really cute, though I don't like this colourway
>>10501066this blouse is so tacky i love it
>>10501066Really? I find the colorway refreshing. Either way, the print is really cute and festive. Thanks for sharing.
>>10501066Absolutely fucking adorable I’m gonna hurl. I feel like I already own too many Christmas dresses though.
>>10501066Kinda looks like it might be poly, I hope I’m wrong though
Does anyone have their wardrobe insured?
>>10501066I hate how those shoes can go with any Kumya print
>>10501134... why do you hate that?
>>10501138nta but she might be worried they are just going to use them with all their kumya print stock photos from now on.
>>10501138>>10501140That, and like, they're so fucking ugly in concept. It shouldn't work, but it does
>>10501141but they are really so precious, anon! look at their little faces. don't you want their little faces on your feet?
>>10501066god im such a sucker for baby's kumya items, I hope this comes in pink
>>10501144i actually wanted to hate those little kumya face shoes too since there's something just conceptually ridiculous about them and looking down at your shoes only to have them beaming little :3 faces up at you. but they're adorable and somehow don't look like trash like 99% of little animal face shoes.
>>10501134I hate how they are always out of stock in the standard Kuma color
>>10501149It does! On the website it says it will come in pink, sax, red, and black. This blue is a limited online color only though.
>>10501183This is cute enough to make me willing to buy a holiday dress after I swore off buying any (besides Valentine's because hearts are generic)
>>10501150is this what you see in your nightmares, anon?
>>10501151They’re never in stock in any color
>>10501066the christmas earrings.,...ahhh
>>10501200they're in stock right now in white and in dark brown
>>10501200They dont come in US11 so rip
>>10501267>get the kumya shoes>scalp off their little faces with a knife>wear their defeated faces on top of your jumbo 11s
>>10501281Kuma Leatherface shoes
>>10501189Its really tempting unfortunately
>>10500878please link. please.
>>10501264I didn’t know that but those are still the worst colors
>>10501377They can work
>>10501381If I’m paying $200 for shoes I want the color I actually want.
>>10501381Also, those are the Christmas color.
kumya shoes are the crocs of lolita. i hate them but i still want a pair
They’re restocking the kumya shoes along with Christmas Market.
>>10501359It's called Witches' Tea Party, but the reservation ended on the 8th.http://www.victorianmaiden.jp/SHOP/102574/141842/list.html
I'm really surprised at the wardrobe thread in rufflechat where most people are saying 1-5 main pieces is small and anything over 10-20 is large. Everyone commenting must be new. Having only 1-5 main pieces is barely a wardrobe in my opinion. That's pretty much beginner level. I think <20 is small. Then maybe 60+ is large. Or am I just too wrapped up in lolita to understand reality anymore?
>>10501415i dunno i definitely have more than 20 main pieces.
>>10501415I think anything over 35-40 main pieces is a large wardrobe simply because that's about how many main pieces you can comfortably stuff into an average sized (not walk-in) closet without it being completely stuffed. If your lolita wardrobe takes up more room than the average sized closet, that's a large collection imo.
Ugh the kumya capes sold out within seconds
>>10501415In past cgl polls, 20 to 30 main pieces was around the average wardrobe size for users here
>>10501415I wear lolita 1-2x a week but while I have a wardrobe that's entirely too big for me (about 100), I would think I could probably get by with 30 pieces to be fair, the turnover being 15 weeks or 4 months, which is very reasonable for a wardrobe. The problem is I just love this fashion too much.
>>10501066This is the cutest fucking thing i've seen all year.>>10501200They're fully in stock right now.https://babyssb.shop/category/select/cid/934/pid/11556
Baby dropped some comfy roomwear with an announcement an hour prior.
>>10501452baby's really coming through
>>10501452I really want this, what’s the price
>>1050147217380¥ for the 3 piece sethttps://babyssb.shop/category/select/cid/935
>>10501446thank u, snatched up a pair. i wish the US site was in sync with the jp site on this.>>10501452can't decide yet whether to get this... very cute on the model, but I'm not sure about the fit and the material
Based baby strikes again with 3 cuts, (1 skirt, 2 jsks), a huge amount of accessories, and with everything being made out of cotton. This print is so ridiculously cute, it's put me in such a Christmasy mood, I can't even decide which colour way I like the most
>>10501538I love how much the black colourway makes the print pop
>>10501539I'm basic and prefer pink. Not super into red this time.
And the skirt is plus size friendly, hell yeah!1st time ordering from Tenshi, is there anything I should know?
>>10501538After taking a look at all the colorways, I still think the navy is the best. Too bad it seems to be sold out though.
>>10501613BTSSBs full shirring skirts have always been plus sized friendly, but I find their pieces in general to have less poof than AP so be careful if you are very pear shaped or have large hips, you might find it fitting a little tighter than you think in the legs if you're also plus sized.
>>10501538The sax colorway is my favorite!! I love how it looks like a snowy day
>>10501624Sax and pink definitely stand out the most to me as the cutest! It's all just so adorable. BABY has yet to disappoint with any cotton prints, especially when kumyas are involved. And they're good about restocking. Does the SF site update on a schedule with the JP one? I only ever buy from JP so I was just curious if SF store ever lists these same pieces for sale online too?
>>10501617Thanks for the heads up! >>10501624Sax is hella cute and it's amazing how good the pink is too! Gold x Pink is starting to become my favorite colorway
>>10501616I'm just ridiculously happy that the kumya hat and capes sold out, despite me not even buying this release. It's just so adorable that so many people spent $50 on a seasonal outfit for their fricking frilly little bear purses and that makes me so happy.
New US-based second-hand lolita store? Insta mentions something about formerly selling on lace market. I’m interested to see what the prices will be. If it’s the seller who I think it is, I’ve bought from them before. It was a tiny bit pricier than I would normally pay (like $20-$40) but it was readily available and they were super easy to deal with. And it wasn’t scalping prices, just a little tiny bit more expensive than what I could’ve gotten it for if I had spent months searching or waiting. But we shall see! Definitely looks to be mainly pastel sweet at this point. If I’m honest I thought about doing this. If your work sends you to Japan often or if you have close friends or family there, loading up on a ton of secondhand stuff from the shops in various cities there and selling here, you would probably be close in price to what it costs to buy from closet child or Alice girl. Don’t want this to descend into a fight about scalpers, but who is interested in this new store?
>>10501639Isn't koko kuma Kokoro on LM? I think that's her fb name based on her selling that replica in a group one time. I don't dislike her for her mild brand and taobao scalping, I dislike her for her 15 negatives and the few interactions I've had with her being hella rude, that makes me worry the service will be shit.
>>10501640Yeah that’s who I’m pretty sure it is, just didn’t wanna name her on here. She has some bad reviews, but they’re spread out over the years. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with her from the four or five things I’ve gotten from her
>>10501643I don't hate her but some of her claimed handmade stuff just looks like taobao and xianyu resold (the apron with the little puffballs in it and all, unless she used sewing skills to copy the xianyu style ones and make her own with domestic materials cheaper). If she is just remaking similar styled items and charging typical handmade prices that isn't awful and I much prefer it to the reselling secondhand aspect. I always rather someone use their own creativity for profit rather than just mess around on the market, and if the products are good its more sustainable for her long term.
>>10501640I never bought from her because of those 15 negatives, even when she had my ultimate rare dream dress lol.
>>10501633It sold out in under a minute and I was crushed, I wanted it
>>10501640I'm worried about the service too if it's being run by Koko. I've also gotten either rude or extremely late responses that resulted in me missing out on items I've tried to get from her on LM or any other site she'd list on.
>>10501640as others have said she's pretty rude and acts like her responding normally is her doing you a favor.
>>10501656I didn’t get that reaction from her, but I’ve never sent her a message asking about a dress. I’ve only purchased and then paid the PayPal request. It’s weird how different people can I have totally different responses from the same person. It is a little unprofessional because it implies that whatever is going on in her personal life is leaking out into her “business”. Hopefully with her own store people with issues will find it easier to get resolution or to get money back via PayPal. There’s nothing worse than having to file a PayPal claim for a damaged item from LM and PayPal just not getting lace market or not understanding the listings and where to find the TOS and just the general culture of lolita second hand. PayPal doesn’t seem to understand that these aren’t just secondhand clothes, they’re collectibles and while small damage would be fine if it was just any other dress, on a collectible item it’s a big deal and warrants a refund or a return. I’ve had dresses that were sun faded in streaks that the seller didn’t mention but because the seller said it was secondhand item which may show signs of wear, PayPal didn’t have my back
>>10501640She was really nice to me until I paid and then she flat out ignored my messages. She sent the item on time and it was fine, but the sudden silence was jarring, I asked her to let me know when she sent it.
>>10501640popping in to add my confirmation that Koko is indeed hella rude, and her personal life def leaks into her (lack of) manners.
what kind of handmade accessories would you gulls like to see? the market seems pretty saturated with the same kind of things that sell easily, so i am wondering what would be a welcome addition.
>>10501625Yes check their blog.
>>10501706tasteful wristcuffs that aren't ugly and huge, for one. besides that, garters, bloomers, brooches, jewelry, hair accessories, and pochettes (think mini mini kumyas).
>>10501719Second thing more hair accessories that aren’t barrettes or head dresses. That’s all anyone seems to make because they’re easy. A KC with a cloth-covered headband like the brands make would be super nice
>>10501749Ugh I mean seconding
>>10501719>>10501749My kingdom for some nice looking wristcuffs/ Alice Bows
>>10501719wristcuffs that are simple, in multiple colors like lavendar, sax, light pink, darker pink, white, ivory, black, navy, greenbloomers with lots of room for wider hips and thighs, whose elastic won't ride up or chaffhats OTHER than berets please100% cotton blouses in 'western' sizes. 100% cotton!!!We have enough brooches and jewelry. Garters might be cute, but I'm thinking more classic-based
>>10501749Agreed, especially solid colored KCs like pastels, red, white, and black that are actual nice cotton possibly wired headbows with a cloth covered headband that is ideally some sort of plastic that could be machine washed and air dried so rust wouldn't be an issue. Not sure how to accomplish wiring a headbow without metal but at least a non metal band would be nice so it can be washed more easily.
>>10501749More stuff like SheenaBellaBows (changed her name recently on etsy but I forgot to what) with her cute pancake headwear or other cool non rectangle headpiece designs would be awesome.
>>10501753thanks for the rec!!>>10501749>>10501756>>10501758seems like the community really wants solid headbows to match their dresses, lol. i think versatile solid accessories would do the best profit-wise. aprons, overdresses, scepters, and crowns/mini hats might be worth making as well for a higher price point.
Baby's new skirt sold out and Tenshi never got back to me. on a scale of 10 how screwed am I?
>>10500878The dress I wanted got bought by a sissy on LM. Feels bad
>>10501758>headband that is ideally some sort of plastic that could be machine washed and air dried>non metal band would be nice so it can be washed more easily.A plastic one just sounds like it'd break in a washing machine. But I hate headbows, they always hurt my head after a few hours. I'd rather have a headbow with ties at the end instead of a headband.
>>10501769I doubt it would break if washed on a gentle cycle, and you could hand wash still but not have to deal with rush which you do now with metal even with handwashing. Any type of headbow or headband does hurt my head too (also berets), but I have just accepted I get headaches easily and live with it or choose a different headpiece because stuff with ties slips a lot for me. I have to sew wig clips into them to keep them up/
>>10501766Baby are usually pretty good when it comes to restocks, so there's a good chance you will still be able to get it. Usually you can just email them about an out of stock item, but if you want to use a shopping service, I don't know how you should go about it (unless you pay for in store shopping)
Meta just announced that magical artefact is shipping out in batches between today apparently and January, as opposed to the scheduled time in March
>>105018672020 is looking up
>>10501879This all started on March, Friday the 13th and its all ending on the next Friday the 13th.
>>10501881For better or for worst, thats for sure
Did anyone else get this? Lowkey weirded out because it came to an email address I made like three days ago, so I don’t know how someone could have it.
>>10501896The self promo today has been strong, damn
>>10501896lmao anon literally scroll up a few posts in the thread
>>10501867If I reply to the email letting them know that the address is correct, will they shop it sooner? Or do I leave it and wait for them to ship it out?
the fatties arguing about size in the AP thread got me thinking. what are the smallest measurements you have seen for a specific lolita piece? I remember BTSSB skirts used to be pretty small. this applique skirt is listed as 61 cm waist in lolibrarythe btssb ice cream skirt is also around 62cm
>>10501909That's a stupid idea
So I completely missed this release? How does everyone feel about it? I'm really digging the jewelry from it ngl
>>10501909They said no, do not email them, this will not make things move faster.
>>10501938Some people liked ithttps://rbt.asia/cgl/thread/10468008/#10471514
>>10501930Older skirts seem smaller in general. I have an old Meta skirt that I can't find on Lolibrary with a waist of about 62 cm. My oldest Angelic Pretty skirt (I think from around 2006-08) goes up to 68
>>10501768If you’re thinking of the same one I am then agreed, my heart is crushed.
>>10501930There's some ETC pieces that are about 50-55cm, which is more consistent with normal sizing in Japan. It makes sense, because ETC is not a strictly lolita brand and caters a lot to the normie market. Some older JetJ pieces are in the 53cm range as well.Interestingly, looking at lolibrary, the smallest I could find for AP was 60cm waist back in the early 2000s, and even then most releases were 64+ and many had shirring. Their current releases are also running at about 62-64+, but they have a lot more shirring nowadays to fit the 60-80cm range. So at least for their skirts, the sizes haven't gone up quite so dramatically as gulls claim. And BtssB has a lot of recent releases that have a larger min waist, 68cm or 70+.
>>10501966>>10501930I honestly wish brands gave more detailed measurements than just bust and waist. The biggest change in AP sizing is actually their shoulder straps, which changes the length of the dress, which in turn changes how the dress sits on you. Baby is another culprit, the older dresses may have very wide measurements but the length is usually for petite girls, and their shirring isn't the stretchiest. It's really one brand I advise anyone who isn't small and petite to be wary of, even when the measurements look like they'd "stretch" quite often it just looks like shit.
>>10501987They usually have adjustable straps, and if they’re still too long making buttonholes is really simple, if you can’t do it yourself you probably know someone who can.
>>10500882>>10500941Does anyone have a link? I’m so out of the loop I don’t even know what IM is.
>>10501997That's what I'm saying. What you don't see in lolibrary is that a lot of the older dresses *don't* have the adjustable, longer shoulder straps.
please take this from me anons
>>10501938Are you in the US anon? They told me they had the series in stock in-store and not on their website. Maybe you can email them if you want that specific one if they have it? (The only thing I know for sure isn't in stock are the little dresses for the kumya pochettes, which was what I was looking for) And I believe the jewelry just had a restock the other day if you want those too? Also, I have almost everything of that series in pink and the usakumya jewelry and am absolutely in love with it! It's soft and the fabric is very gliterry!
So they just let anyone be a big sister now I guess. The reason so many lolitas coord Honey Cake with red is there’s a lot of red in the print.
>>10502475Bruh, they really do. HC with red is like, one of the few times red +yellow doesn't look like a wannabe McDonald's coord
>>10502527I suppose yellow cherry or berry prints with red would look fine too but with HC it's so kitschy and retro looking it works better to me.
>>10502068Wait, the series is in stock in store?? I’m crying from the east coast
>>10503030Did you not read that you can email them and ask for it?
>>10503030Yeah! Just email and ask if they can check the stock. I can't guarantee they'll have everything/anything that you want, but it couldn't hurt to try and send an email.
Sorry, I'm a newfag and couldn't find the correct thread if there is one. Can anyone tell my what Dollhouse op by AP in grey is worth? It's in great condition but it's missing the caplet.
>>10503589Are you selling yours? I’ve been looking for this dress for a while, I’ve dropped my email above if you want to talk about pricing
>>10503589Old AP is getting really popular. I’d say $300 if you’d had the cape so maybe $250 without as long as the screen printing still looks good.
>>10503828I think you're lowballing desu. She could probably sell it easily for $350+ even without the cape.
>>10503835Yeah, maybe. I went a bit lower since it’s a pretty small cut and will have a smaller pool of potential buyers.
>>10503844Coming back to correct myself since I forgot it was a shirred OP and so really not that small. I agree with the anon above now, you can get at least $300 for it if not more
New dress from Meta, no plus plus size, but plus should work fine. It's cute, but I'm more excited for the headbow
>>10501639Absolutely not interested and I hope this shitty trend dies. I can't stand that other western secondhand reseller store. There's a difference between these and places like Closet Child. CC buys stuff from lolitas who know they are reselling to a store for a profit. These companies just lurk the same sales we all do and snatch up items to resell tonus once again with a higher price tag. Basically secondhand scalpers.... If I'm selling my pieces I would prefer them to be bought by individual lolitas that want that particular piece and are excited about receiving it and wearing it. I don't care if they will resell it later on, but at least that item brings joy to that lolita in the moment. I don't want my stuff being bought by gross companies like this just to be resold to that same lolita for $50-100 more. Not to mention it shits up the pricing for everyone. They get theirs but fuck the whole lolita resale market.
>>10503969The regular plus size for that floral dress and cape set was yuge; even fat people should have little trouble fitting this in a plus size since it looks almost fully back shirred.
>>10503589Put this on auction on LM, you will probably get 400-500ish.
>>10503978Western resellers are just dumb. I get western firsthand sales like kuroshiro and stuff being a little pricey if for some reason you need to go in person to the shop to try on brand and all but it's being sold new, not fucking up the secondhand market and is just another option for people that doesn't involve worrying about international shipping or communicating with shop staff who may not be strong English speakers. The only people opening up these secondhand resale shops in the west are basically known LM scalpers reselling taobao pretending its handmade and upcharging on cheap brand they snapped up a little faster either via SS themselves or a friend abroad.
>>10503589For me, the capelet is the main draw of this dress so I'd only pay up to $250. But you should just auction it anon, if you aren't planning to sell to a gull.
>>10503969gasp there is a plus size
>>10503980As someone with a 129cm bust, it's nice not having to wear binder just to fit.I think this was a nice experiment on Meta's part to see if fatty-chans actually put their money where their mouths is. Hopefully enough people bought the plus/plus plus sizes
>>10504011The regular plus size of all those releases that had plus and plus plus are still in stock but I think the plus-plus sold out for some? I prefer meta for old school and sailor aesthetic items rather than cute prints so I am planning to reserve this release.
>>10504011>129 cm bustHonestly anon, gross. Lose some weight. Even my stocky friend with giant DDs only has a 109 cm bust. Obesity is disgusting.
I'm living in Europe and I'm thinking about using the time of the second lockdown for a lolita blog. What do people like to read? since there are sadly no teaparties to write about..
>>10504012Meta doesn't release anything old school for a long time
>>10504029The lacy floral dresses are kind of "classical" lolita style which is sort of confused or associated with old school too.
>>10504015I like diy crafts, cooking, going to the park but with the photos actually having some fashion content, like if u are holding ur crafts in ur hand then have a frilly sleeve visible, if u have a photo of what you cooked then set up a cute still life with kumya, if you take a pic of some flowers at the park then have ur skirt and shoes in the pic
>>10504030It doesn't have cotton lace to be concidered old school
>>10504012Plus sizes did sell out, but meta always do lots of restocks so anything rarely stays that way. What they're currently doing must be successful as it feels like every release since has had plus sizes
>>10504041This. Some of my oldest dresses are poly and still fit the old school aesthetic. It's usually just a matter of styling anyways.
>>10504041nta but I'm not sure if I trust your definition of what is old school "concidering" your spelling and assumption a dress even has to HAVE lace to be oldschool. Many dresses have no lace at all and the recent floral release is at least reminiscent of Meta's older floral pieces that often had raschel lace, not the cotton (I assume you mean torchon or eyelet) lace you're probably thinking of.
>>10504049They seem to be claiming you need cotton lace to be old school. Agreed that it's mostly styling though.
>>10504050Good luck being lonely grammar nazi, bitch
>>10504041Old school can be with any lace, it's more about general aesthetics
>>10504055Good luck getting roasted for wearing anything with cotton lace and "concidering" it old school. It wasn't ever a grammar issue, it was spelling, you illiterate cunt.
>>10504053I don't have to, I'm not a whale and I effortlessly fit into any lolita shit I want to wear.
>>10504087Good for you, but you still gotta cope
>>10504090Learn what that means fatty
>>10504123boohoo how dare fatties wear my precious chinese sack dresses boohooCope
>>10504146Fatty hate is repetitive and annoying but not as much as you posting "cope" as a response to anything that hurts your obese feelings. Please do everyone a favor and stop. I'm fat too and I get being sensitive about your weight but dear god at least have a more clever comeback than idiotic scrote responses.
Is anyone else's comm having a winter ILD, whether it be online or in person?
>>10504159Mine is trying to have one in person and I'm not cool with that at all. We already had a few test positive for covid already
>>10504170So don’t go, let them be stupid if they want.
>>10504171Im not? I can still complain about it then again, a few itas dying will mean the comm looks less like shit
>>10504170i keep seeing large ish lolita groups in my comm take pictures without masks on social media, and i just want to shake them all.
>>10504159My comm is having a physical meet and it's the same one they have every year. It's almost like the organizers think we're not in the middle of a global pandemic or something.
Does anyone know what happened to the brand Sugar Alchemy? They are a Japanese brand in Tokyo. They made the one corgi on a broom necklace and dissapeared around 2017.
>>10504038I like the photo idea, thank you :)
>>10504215Take comfort in the fact that they'll hopefully be weeded out due to stupidity
every time I see one of these "do you think it's a replica?" I have to stop myself from commenting "does a bear shit in the woods?"
>>10504651meh, at least they're asking. I'd rather see a LS BSoLF post asking for replica verification rather than an ita in CoF proudly showing off their "totahlly real Angewic Pwetty"
>>10504651I always wondered, some people say they use replicas for making accessories they'd never want to cut up good brand for, like a mask or bag; has anyone ever used a replica as scrap fabric for an alteration of a piece? The only replica I've ever seen of a dress that I own the original for is Little Bears Cafe and the replica was so obviously the wrong fabric and texture and colors off that I can't imagine it blending well with another piece but maybe for others the fabric is close enough that if it's done in an inconspicuous area of a piece like making the straps longer or only on the sides rather than front center if re-cutting the bodice to make it fit a bigger bust, etc. would it be possible? It would be an interesting exercise for most common pieces or even just decent practice for making adjustments to brand without having to waste a real brand piece if you got it cheap.
>>10501452argh why am I the queen of missing reservations

>>10500878I feel like such a fool, I got the new kumya print dress, but after looking at it again I really dont like it?I dont want to be accused of being a scalper, but I dont want to lose too much. How do you guy price new things?
>>10504720I price it at the same amount I bought it.
>>10504724Seems simple enough. Thanks!
General question: Do any of you own multiple cuts and color ways of a specific print or collection? What was it that made you collect them?
>>10504760I own multiple colorways in the same cut of prints I really like. Mostly pastel toy prints; I tend to buy the pink and lavender colorways, and for berry prints the red and pink colorways. Some dresses are just really enjoyable when styled with different color palettes.
>>10504760I have multiples of Misty Sky, they're really comfy and casual. Easy to coord, and can have totally different vibes depending on the color. Also have 2 of Milky Planet because I really, really like scallops. I haven't seen any similarly scalloped prints besides maybe the recent ice cream one from Baby. The sax is very vibrant and different from all my other sax stuff too.
>>10504760I own multiple colorways of a few different AP cutsew OPs. 5 of one, I love it so much.
>>10504760I have all the colorways of AP Loyal Rosette. The quality on the dress is amazing and I find the different color ways lend themselves to be coorded very differently, and not just different color palettes. Like the brown is effectively one color so I coord it more the way I’d coord a solid. And the blue always lends itself well to sailor themes, while the green is great for Christmas and regal type coords because something about that bright green really pops. The red is great for darker coords with but also eye-catching graphic coords with lots of black and white patterns. But basically it’s the quality. Every time I’ve tried to expand my collection to include other AP plaid or rosette prints they’re always worse quality so I sold it and turned around and got another colorway of LR. A re-release with a new colorway would be a dream come true
I'm eyeing a third cut and colorway I don't have yet and was questioning if I should get it. It's nice to know other people have specific prints they love that much.
>>10504760I have a lot of these. There's an old IW dress which I bought in person at their store, I was surprised that looked darn good on me, so I ended up hunting down the other two colourways. It's not a popular print and nobody would recognise it, it just looks darn good, so of course I got it in all the colourways.I've tried to replicate that with a btssb dress but it's more popular than the IW one, so I only own the btssb dress in navy, black and brown. I really wanted another black so I don't have to worry about wearing down that colour.I have multiples of some pony prints, usually because the second-favorite colourway came up for sale before my favorite colourway did, and then they look kind of cute together so I never sold the second favorite.I have also gotten duplicate IW dress in random lucky packs, so far none in the same cut/colourway that I already bought, and I already like them so I kept both. And then....there's Chocolate Rosette, of which I somehow own in 5 colourways. I only ever wanted the green, but it wasn't available in the first re-release MTO, so I bought pink (I don't know why). Then there was a special set in mint and the SS I contacted said it was probably impossible (but she still managed to get it, so I bought it). Then there was another re-release with the green included and you bet I bought it. Then for some reason AP did a special set of it and since CNY was coming up I bought the red. Then my friend remarked that red was really bright and difficult to wear and for some reason or another I ended up with the brown colourway too (red and brown both turned out to be the most often worn colourways lmao). This isn't even my dream print (except the green), I should just get my feelings sorted and sell off the extras at some point.
>>10504772Baby has scalloped jsk cuts all the time if you're looking for more.
>>10504760I somehow ended up with 5 dream marines.I wanted it really badly at a time when it was hard to buy and then the rereleases and mtos came out and they became soo easy to get. I just picked them up when I could get them for cheap. they are really comfy and easy to wear I need to sell them tho I don't, I think its more fun to have different prints, and to experiment more
>>10504760I own all the colorways of an old unpopular IW dress, too. I saw the first colorway come up really cheap (missing detachable items) and it wasn't my favorite, but I thought what the hell, and bought it. Then another color came up with all the detachable pieces, which I could also use with the first color I bought, so I bought the second one for that reason. Finally my favorite color came up (also missing detachable pieces), so now I have all the colors and one set of detachable pieces that can work with all three of them. I figure it worked out well.
>>10504760I try to vary color and cut, although I do have pants and JSKs of the same series in the same colorways. I think I own at least two colorway/cuts of about 5 series and three colorways of 3 series.
>>10504856What’s with people selling things with out the detachable pieces? How hard is it to keep track of that stuff even if you’re not wearing it?
>>10504849I know, most of the time they either don't match my wardrobe or don't have a scalloped collar as well. I am a huge fan of the scallops on their old school dresses, but don't have much to match them yet. Thank you for looking out for me, anon!
>>10504720if you only do it a couple of times I think you'll be fine. its people that do this all the time that get accused of scalping.
>>10504760There are lots that I want to collect because they have my favorite motifs and designs, but so far due to finances the only intentional one is AP Sheep Garden, of which I have 1 sax skirt and 1 black jsk. I do have a double of an IW print because I bought the cute cut from CC and found out it was an M size, then saw they actually have a less-cute cut in an L size which should be more comfortable; ultimately, the fit is so similar, I don't think the 2nd purchase was worth it. I also have 2 of a Liz Lisa OP with an embroidered strawberry motif I really like because I got my preferred colorway at full price and the other colorway on sale.
>>10504760I've got maybe 5-6 dresses where I have multiple colorways of, and I plan on picking up some more colorways of what I already have multiples of (like Misty Sky and Dream Sky) and would like to get more colorways of some dresses I only have one colorway of (would also like a yellow Milky Planet, but so does everyone else, sigh)
There's a new LIEF release that looks super cute! It comes in gold, pink, navy, and all black.
>>10504760I have a lot of multiples! I'm really picky about prints and cuts so if I like something I get more copies.AP:Dolly Heart - OP in red, JSK in black, black KC to match both. I might buy the pink JSK as well, idk.Neon Star Diner - skirt in black and pink, cutsew blouse and socks in black, blouson in all 3 colors, blouse in black and pink. >>10504992That's cute. You don't usually see items in this colour, I'm loving it
Was this already discussed somewhere? This person seriously wants people to give them free content that they can turn around and sell. I looked at their website and they are selling a "full coordinate" box for $300 where you wait 2-3 months for her to buy secondhand items and send them "blind box" style to you, with no refunds or exchanges. I really hope no one gives her "business" a dime.
>>10501452pleasantly surprised that this arrived already! It’s super soft and cozy I love it.
>>10505163She already tried this once, saying that the subscription box would include at least one brand item then back-pedalled on it when she realized she wouldn’t make any actual money from it if she had brand items in the box. I hope no one gives this ita any money.
>>10505163"Inspires and informs aspiring and veteran lolitas"Oh hunny, why would anyone be inspired by your mediocre coords. If I ever buy a blind box I'd at least buy it from someone who knows how to coord.I think an indie brand accessory box might be nice, but only from the brands that don't make horrible shit.
>>10505163>>10505169>>10505170Is this girl desperate for efame? She keeps trying to shill her so-called brand and coords on every online community she can find.
>>10505170Her coords are usually just "okay." Borderline ita with the low quality items and bad hair, wigs and makeup
>>10505170Her coords are not bad

Bonus points if pink.I just love how the little cape looks and this style in general. My budget is limitless, I just want it to be good quality. Posting here because I can't find feels thread...I'm finally getting a job interview at a nice company this coming week and I'm excited to pay off my COVID-induced debt, move to a better neighborhood, and be able to buy whatever lolita items I want. Does anyone else have the My Precious Things dress? I just got it in the mail from CC and naturally want to wash it before putting it in my closet. I did a qtip test on an apple on the print and some pink came away. I'm not sure if it's safe to wash, even by hand. For now, I put it in a dryel bag at least to freshen it up. (it wasn't stinky at all)Has anyone washed it themselves or is this a dry clean only dress?
>>10506162yeah i checked their sizes, im european S , judging by their sizing i may be able to fit in their stuff (85 cm bust, 64-67 waist), my only concern is the shoulder width of the items.
>>10506318wash cold water either hand wash or machine w/ most gentle cycle possible, use color catcher(s), boomThe most recent stupid questions thread starts with how to wash lolita clothes, ask stuff like this in there
>>10506464know how to handwash, I do with most of my pieces.I also know theres some things (especially older red ap pieces) that you can only dry clean because they bleed like hell even in cold water.I'm specifically asking if my precious things is dry clean only from other people who own it. Theres too much vibrant red thats rubbing off on the qtip next to whites and yellows for me to just chuck it in a bucket of cold water right off the bat. Also the stupid questions thread is in auto sage
New ETC release is so simple but pretty

Meta has completely remodeled their online shop, though it's more awkward to navigate now in my opinion. I wonder if anyone is going to get offended by the large usage of 'girl' in the about lolita fashion section kek

>>10506614This is great.
>>10506682Thanks! I'd sooner be safe than sorry than have any color transfer which would make me super sad. I'll just put it on my list of the pieces I can only dry clean.

I haven’t been into Lolita for years - are there a lot of trans women into it now?
>>10506867I s2g if yall shit up the thread over obvious bait again
>>10506872Is this even bait at this point? Its painfully obvious.
>>10506879>>10506872I’m genuinely curious
>>10506867brolitas have have been around for a long time
>>10506897Brolitas aren't trans though. Trans "women" would be extremely assblasted if you were to call them brolitas lmao
>>10506614I loved this when I was scrolling past but now that I'm really looking at it, it's driving me insane that the bottom part of the cutlery doesn't line up with the top.
>>10506904The absolute irony of these “women” completely chimping out over being correctly sexed, hmmm kind of like how men react violently over dumb shit.
>>10505163I can forgive it when people who don't know what they're talking about try to be all gung-ho about XYZ project, but not when they're trying to make a profit. I hope no one is really stupid enough to pay that much for a coordinate box when you can pick something out yourself... It's so fucking weird that she's buying stuff secondhand because you know she's gonna be finding the most unwanted shit to send you.
>>10507024Apparently someone already bought a starter box from her. Poor soul. I’ve gotten unpopular but still cute BABY sets for $80.
>>10500878The person I'm doing a payment plan with ghosted me on the last payment 4 days ago. Do I still send an invoice or what? How have you all dealt with a no-show buyer mid-plan?
>>10506867There are a few - it’s possible that with the growing acceptance of trans people more sissy fetishists are calling themselves “trans women” so that the woke brigade lets them stay in comms. If you call out a transwoman for creepy behavior that’s “transphobia.” Moreso, a lot of comms are overflowing with transmen (who still wear makeup and dresses) and nonbinaries because apparently if you don’t enjoy conforming to sexist female stereotypes 100% of the time it means you’re not a woman.
>>10506915Damn, big same. It's so simple, too bad they can't even get the main part of it right. If it's a printed item I usually prefer to buy it in store if it's first-hand, since I like to choose a piece that doesn't have awkward or wonky placement. If it's secondhand at least you can see photos of the exact piece you're getting.
>>10507025Oh god. I hope it was a family member who felt bad and not some misguided newbie. If it's the later, I'm desperate for a review.
It seems that Baby is shipping out Kumya’s Christmas Market by Yamato for countries that aren’t open for EMS, or at least the US. I guess they want lolitas to get them by Christmas which is sweet.
>>10505597I used that service and it was terrible. I dejected the biggest box and they gave me a cutsew OP as my big main piece, and it was definitely a non-lolita cutsew, just by a lolita brand. Barely came down past my ass, zero room for a petti. And I was super broad, basically all I said was that I I don’t wear casual lolita so I did not want a casual coord. And they gave me a casual coord. They took like 4 months, too and in that time they sold plenty of dresses that cost less than I paid them and would have fit me. I’m still salty
>>10506897I respect brolitas more than transwomen since they have no problem with wearing women's fashion and still call themselves a man, while a tranny will cry at the slightest thing said about them that isn't asskissing.
>>10507028You‘re dumb for sending multiple invoices anon, makes it easy for the buyer to scam you. Next time send a single invoice with the „partial payments“ option (a mere check-box).
>>10505163You guys think she has commercial licenses for all the fonts she uses? Putting them on prints and selling them definitely isn’t personal use and most creators wouldn’t want you using them on a website where you sell things without a commercial license for the font.
>>10505163This bitch is so stupid, she’s not even worth arguing with. She keeps talking about retail as if it’s fucking relevant to one girl trying to profit off newbies.
>>10507103pic for ants
>>10507087Lmao I got into an argument with someone about how not all brand cutsews are lolita. They insisted a piece I own multiples of was 1) totally lolita and 2) totally would fit a petti, I was just fat/tall (I'm short and kinda Skelly)I wonder if that anon has any relation to this person or if there are just tons of dumbass lolitas
>>10507152Are you the person who was arguing about this in another thread? We all saw the conversation, you don't have to brag about it days later.
>>10507153Yes and I'm still assmad about it >https://youtu.be/XoWE4ssR3mU>You're gonna look at me and you're gonna tell me that I'm wrong!?!>Grow up, bro
I can't decide if I like this or not. What do you all think?
does anybody else think its weird that so much on closet child is sold out so soon after they update? Is it bots?
>>10507370No, it's just lolitas in favourable time zones. There's even a video where it's basically a meme, with lolitas who are at a meet then realise closet child has updated and then they're all on their phones buying stuff.
>>10507343wtf is this
>>10507343Anon this is fucking hideous
>>10507343What is this? It's godawful, anon.
>>10507439No it's not retard. The good stuff gets snapped up by bots as soon as it's listed.
>>10507453Based on the number of people claiming Japanese lolitas use scripts I want to believe it's true, but at the same I hear about people managing to snag desirable stuff or at least get it into their cart before missing out on it so idk.
>>10507455You realize no one is saying it’s impossible to score good deals on cc, we’re saying it’s just a very slim chance
>>10507456I never implied anyone said it was impossible. I am a different anon than the original one asking about bots and was just giving my perspective based on what cgl posters say about scripts vs not and everything.I can't handle the stress of rushing to checkout immediately upon updating so I just shop whenever and pick through leftovers, so I don't have any experience shopping at update times. I'm just going off of what other people have said in the past.
>>10507453>>10507458I kind of have difficulty believing it's bots. Would it have to evolve some AI to realise which dresses were desirable or does it just buy up all the A-rank dresses or it's linked to a mini database ranked by desirability or it just tries to put random fugly items in the cart or...?At least bots buying from AP webshop is believable, you know ahead of time what will go up and there's an obvious profit to be scalped later, but Closet Child.... idk, seems a bit high-effort just for some randomised secondhand stuff.(obviously nayrt, just speaking my thoughts)
>>10507507They may have it look for items using a preexisting list and setting parameters. Using something like lolibrary, you could make a decent catalog of things for a bot to look for. It may be why some items that aren't on databases sit around a little longer. There's a scalper on Y! auctions that often resells items that are on closet child for just a minute, so I wouldn't be surprised some people use scripts. Also, I've see around 30+ very cheap (2000 yen or less) Qutie Frash items get bought in about a minute...and that seems a little...fast.

I honestly think a lot of lolitas nowadays would be much happier in the doll hobby. They could satisfy their collectors mindset, need for attention and flexing, taking pretty pictures and expressing their fashion sense without squeezing themselves into clothing they look ugly in, don't fit in or is uncomfortable for them.
>>10507736I like the idea of dolls for customization and making tiny lolitas or tiny mini-mes but I'm afraid any cheaper ones I buy en masse will be recasts without me knowing or made out of material that I can't use a dremel on to change facial features.Dolls would put me back financially way more than lolita. I just saw a Japanese doll that is out of stock but costs like $400 new that I love the design of. The last brand piece I bought was under $150
>>10507748this. i only have one doll and it's pretty pricy if you want it to be nice. doll clothes are pricy.
>>10507736Most of the attention whores can't afford dolls.
>>10507736I thought wearing lolita was about wearing clothes and not being a social influencer. BJD is significantly more expensive then lolita and anybody who joins lolita for clout tend not to last more then 1 or 2 years, doubt they would be willing to drop thousands on one doll and one outfit.

>>10507611As a classic lolita, this makes me barf. The ring, stars, and scissors accessories are sweet.
