I bought a dress from her and it STANK of BO but she left money in the pocket. Is she just shit at managing money? She shows dresses off on COF and calls them her child and then the next day sells them saying she needs the money

how much money?

I hate the FB sales group. You're not special because it's your birthday. Go hunt for these dresses yourself. Stop posting giant wishlists.
>>
>>10499150
You should've sent the money back to her, its not yours and was probably left in there by accident.
>>
>>10499150
>she left money in the pocket.

This is so fucking hilarious if it's true. Please tell us how much it was, anon!
>>
>>10499169
I'm going to make sure I buy Candy Fun Fair JSK in mint if I ever see it, even if it means I have to sell nudes to my friends that month so I don't stay in the hole monetarily. It's a dream dress of mine, been trying to get it for 4 years, and I will absolutely spend money I don't have so she doesn't get it before me.
>>
Nothing makes me more suspicious of a seller than putting RARE in most of their listings.
>>
>>10499177
I have at least 5 of these dresses with the headbow + accessories and I would never sell them to someone who is so new to lolita that they have this big of a WTB.
>>
>>10499151
>>10499176
It was $6 plus a receipt from target for an electric tea kettle. I figured the $6 was my discount for getting a dirty dress. Luckily it was poly so it was easy to wash at home
>>
like three times in the past 2 months I have offered someone something posted as WTB and they buyer was like "no thanks".
I offer current going rate. these bitches posting WTB expecting to get some amazing deal. so sick of it.
>>
>>10499169
I love seeing wishlists like this with dresses I have and knowing I’d never offer them to someone this pathetic.
>>
>>10499218

I always get the same satisfaction when I see a dress I own in several people's WTB. I guess it makes me feel more justified in investing the money into dresses if other people also want them.
>>
>>10499215
you should post in the BST thread here

Today must be desperate WTB day.

>willing to pay up to $350
I think my new pet peeve is people like this who don't even know the market value of the dresses they want to buy.
>>
>>10499238
When did Dream Doll become so expensive? I got it for like $80 back in ye olden times.
>>
>>10499239
I guess to be fair, the $800 offer for Dream Doll is good. But $350 for all the others is kinda laughable. All these solids are rare.
>>
>>10499238
Dream doll was sold just over $2000 on Xianyu recently, of course she would want to buy it for cheap and scale the hell out of it.
>>
>>10499169

>>10500220
> $450

What a cunt. Twice the size doesn't mean twice the price, Jesus fucking Christ.
>>
>>10499653
Tbh i dont think WTBs or wishlists are a problem. We literally do that all the time in the BST thread here... its just a fb version. Don't be mad at people posting the WTBs, get mad at them for ignoring the offers when they come up.

I love throwing WTBs on the FB threads, sometimes a Xianyu SS will deep dive for me and find it in some cave on the app for a good price, and sometimes people who have items they were only thinking of selling see motivation to do so. The big issue is people expecting way less than market value after asking for them.
>>
>>10499871
I feel like 'rona played a part in that. ppl who kept their jobs and stopped going to cons or whatever now had extra income to buy dresses but never wear them anywhere so now its a crazy collector hobby. the market inflated hugely this year too bc of it.
>>
>>10500223
but muh sweet boom!!!!

>>10500223
Just saw that, who tf pays that much for ruined brand? You wanna cut up your dreases, fine do so.

But at least have the shame in pricing it reasonably
>>
>>10500220
To be fair, I’d pay in the neighborhood of $450 if it wasn’t modified and in flawless condition. Maybe even if it was modified in a way that didn’t look like total shite.

LOVE that she doubles down on saying she has medical bills AND the age old “not responsible for lost packages” nonsense.
>>

>Extra fat! Extra fat! Buy it now! Now for the low price of 450 burger units! Buy it now! Limited time offer! Extra fat!
>>
>>10500265
>modifying brand doesn’t necessarily decrease the value
But it does. Lacemarket’s damage list includes modifications.
>>
>>10500287
It also lists wrinkles though despite the fact they can be steamed or ironed out sooo...does being wrinkled decrease value too?
>>
>>10500271
I agree with this to be honest. Much as people hate it, there IS a market for plus-size AP, so I bet this sells for asking price. But yeah, if it doesn’t, she’ll presumably just reduce it. It’s that simple
>>
>>10500296
To half of lolitas increased size lowers the value, to half it makes it way more valuable because they get a bigger piece without the "guilt" of being the one who altered it themselves.
>>
>>10498672

I'm surprised no one talked about that one set of knockoff shyness bear ears someone was selling. The listing has been removed already.
>>
>>10500287
I actually think that's unfair anon. With a good seamster, it's definitely not something that should be in the same category as onions sauce stains and torn lace. This is a shit mod though
>>
>>10500271
Because this is CGL anon, and everyone complains about everything. But also, this girl kinda hits all the pain points:

- ye olde medical bills excuse for price gouging
- overpricing a generically sweet print that no one actually cares about that much (the mint JSK set unaltered is $100 cheaper on LM)
- pretending like she's not responsible for lost packages
- trying to guilt trip by mentioning being sick

While usually a high-priced sweet item complaint would be met with "STFU poorfag" on CGL this rule does not apply to fatties who will always be subjected to additional abuse.
>>
>>10499926
nayrt but it just feels salesman-y, especially when the items aren't notably rare or sought after.

>>10500265
i think that depends on the nature and quality of the modification desu. i've definitely cringed seeing dresses that have been altered by someone who didn't know what they were doing. i do know i'm more likely to buy an unaltered dress than an altered one either way. the proof photos have to be excellent before i'd even consider it.

>>10500287
we can rest assured that it's listed under damages just to have a way to tag it lol. it's more about disclosures than suggesting it means it's inherently a damage.
>>
Urgh
>>
>>10500370
Would help if the photo didn't drop
>>
>>10500300
I don't understand the guilt complex. If I pay $300 for a dress and decide to light it on fire, that's my prerogative. I do understand the anxiety about fucking a dress up tho. I went to a local "seamstress" to repair the hem of one of my dresses after the stiches came out and she fucked it up so badly I wish I had just done it myself.
>>
>>10500383

The guilt is because of the "alteration shaming" that people tend to do if it is to change fit to accomodate a lower weight (people are fine with lengthening straps or taking things in but hate a dress made to fit significantly larger even if it looks fine on the person's body if the alteration doesn't seem pretty on the hanger)

Most lolitas are otherwise normies and subject to peer pressure and self esteem issues despite the "we don't care what people think" rebellious origin of the fashion. They probably feel afraid of being shit talked for altering though I'm sure most normal people don't care and would rather fatties have a dress that fits well than squishing into something that doesn't.
>>
>>10500265
I think it depends how you market it and if the alteration was done professionally.

What I mean to say is, if I wanted a dress just a bit bigger in the bust, an alteration buy a reputable professional (letting out) even just a little, will still cost about 150USD and up (If a tailor at an actual tailors does it). So if marketed to someone who needs that size, I might argue it's worth the price.

However, I prefer to bring things to my tailor rather than trust the franken-dresses we see on Lacemarket.
>>
>>10500372
That is super cute! I'd hella wear that
>>
>>10500416
$150 anon ?!? I am not charging enough lol. I recut an entire bodice to fit a 118 cm bust on SC for $120 rip
>>
>>10500418
Ita trash, that's some milanoo shit.
>>
>>10500394
But to your point, yeah no real professional would ever in a million years put their name on the modifications I’ve see on Lm, including this one. To be fair, there’s a lot of “seamstresses” out there that have no business advertising their services as professional.

In this case, making the bodice bulkier with straight lines like that makes it seem unnatural and actually draws attention to the larger stature. “Professionals” that do this style of modification are lazy imo and taking advantage of people who don’t know any better. Just cause you can see doesn’t make you qualified to make this kind of structural change to a garment.
>>
>>10500425

At least!

I needed to let out two dresses at the bust just a bit. Waist was fine. To source fabric and add two gussets (with lining) and let it out at the bust cost 175$ USD both times.

I take my Lolita dresses to a well known bespoke tailor in my area, and so I know I'm paying a bit extra for his time, but I'd rather know it's going to be done well than end up with the Lolita equivalent of Frankenstein's monster.

>>
>>10500864
I don't even like this print but this physically pains me.
>>
>>10500864
But.. why? The jsk is generous and you can just wear a cardigan on top???
>>
>>10500872
Right? Like it's already plus size friendly, what kind of person has a bust greater than 112cm, but a waist smaller than 100cm? The math dont add up
>>
>>10500872
Probably too fat to fit it
>>
>>10500875
Actually a lot of people. This also varies drastically on where you wear the dress. Fatties often wear skirts quite high so their fat rolls act like a petti and are hidden by the shape, and because their waist under the boobs is much smaller than their actual waist line.

Weirdly enough tho, I don't hate this. She didn't overprice it, they did re-releases across all AP platforms so it's not super rare, and the modification isn't top tier, but it's not been destroyed. what's there to get so pissy about? Fat people existing in Lolita? If she'd worn the JSK in an unflattering size she would have been posted to the ita thread.
>>
>>10500884

They also admitted to putting the bag in a “vanilla scented trash bag” so I’m pissed. Gonna ask for a partial refund bc I have it airing out in my guest bedroom and I’m going to have to wash it/get it dry cleaned.
>>

Normie bf offered to buy my gift early and I'm still waiting on three packages from the Kumya Cosmetic release

> She should give you a 50% refund
> Just return it and get a full refund and buy yourself 2 straight from baby

Honestly considering it. I'm kind of a pussy and don't want to outright ask for such a big partial refund. Do you think it would be fine to just ask for a 50%??
>>

>>
>>10504858
Waiting for a price drop, saving to bid at the last second for a deal, like the item but don't have money at the time, maybe plan to buy later.

All of the reasons I can think of involve being money related really.
>>
>>10504861
I mostly sell AP tho so a search for the print name is prob better than liking some item when you will literally never look at in your like list anyways.

anon do you ever actually ever look at your like list?
>>
>>10504863

Oh I look at my like list all the time. Literally multiple times a day. I like items before committing to buy them and let them sit to think about if I really want it or not, or waiting for price drops if it's a little steep, sometimes for expensive things that are reasonably or rightfully priced I'm just waiting until my next paycheck depending on how I'm doing financially (I'm a freelancer).

Sometimes I use LM likes for fun and plan whole coords with items I wouldn't neccesarily buy even if I like them and then draw lolita characters wearing those coords. Sometimes I like cutsews and blouses for inspo for my handmade pieces too.

I didn't realize no one uses their likes list considering it's the only "bookmark" function on LM. I use it more to save things for later rather than an ig like.
>>
>>10504863
I always look at my list. Like >>10504865 I use it as an ideas page as well as a list of things I'm actively wanting to keep an eye on.
>>
>>10504858
All of the above. It's a list of things I might consider buying if the price is right/if it's still around when I get paid next month. Also sometimes I like things I already have to see how much they sell for, or things that I think will be a bloodbath and want to watch.

Not to whiteknight, but is the smell of perfume and food really a reason for a partial refund? Just hand wash it, like you should do with second hand items anyway.
>>
>>10504921
Perfume maybe not since Japanese items I buy often have perfume or moth ball smells, but FOOD??? Is this person cooking and eating with their overpriced stuffed animal bag in the kitchen? It just seems kinda grody and has an impact on the quality, especially for a kumya which is more difficult to wash because of plastic and metal parts on the inside and outside.
>>
>>10504921

Seems like you're her desu, anyone would agree a lingering odor is damage the seller clearly didn't disclose. Lying about aspects of the item's condition that could have an impact on someone's purchasing decision which seems intentional considering how "desperate for rent money" she is should be grounds for a return or partial refund. You're basically tricking people into buying.

No, I'd totally get it if it was body odor or if it smelled like shit or if it was dirty, but perfume and cooking(?) smells seem like an overreaction to me. I have a question since all of you are more well versed in LM and I think the dumb questions thread died out. But do people setup auto bids on something they're trying to win? Is that possible on LM??
>>
>>10505166
>>10505166
Most auction sites use a max bid system and so does LM. If you max bid say $10 for a starting action of $5 then it'll place the first bid for $6. If no one else bids then you only pay $6. If someone else bids say $7, then the system automatically rebids for you to $8. It'll keep doing this until it reaches you max bid.
>>
>>10505168
Ok so I understand that, that's very helpful. My next question is does LM show what the highest bid is? Cause I bid on something twice right now with the impression that what was being shown was the highest bid already and there is no way that person is just sitting there upping the bid the second I do.
>>
>>10505171
The bid only gets raised if someone else bids on it.
Say, if the starting bid is $1 and I put my highest bid at $100, if no one else bids, the bid will show as $2.
If someone bids $10, then the price will raise to $11 as my highest bid is still higher than the competing bid. Someone would have to outbid my $100 before their bid shows up as the highest bid.
>>
>>10505172
Ohhhhhh ok! Thank you! So definitely go in with your highest bid at the beginning and then just debate with yourself afterwards if it's still not enough then huh? Lol I'm thinking it was like ebays system. I'm dumb af, thank you for helping a dumb bitch out!
>>
>>10505173

>>10505126

You don’t use straight bleach. Just a splash in several gallons of water. I did oxyclean first but the stain I had still has a slight mark left behind, and the heavily diluted bleach water was enough to lift the remaining stain without discoloring anything else.
My cleaning routine usually starts with white vinegar and baking soda, if that doesn’t work, oxyclean, and the last resort is diluted bleach water.

>>
>>10506023

What drives me bananas is when people sell dresses without the waist ties "because I can't find them" and when they eventually do, they don't contact the person they sold the dress to to offer them. I'd at least pay shipping for any missing waist ties... but I've seen some people doing this and wanted to message them "have you offered these to the person you sold the dress to a few months ago?"
>>
>>10506236
Not being able to find the waist ties is so confusing me. Like, are they not storing all of their lolita items in the same place? I just don't understand how somebody can "misplace" things like waist ties or detachable pieces like bows or neck ties.
>>
>>10505895

>>
>>10506225

>>
>>10506309
I usually take out the ribbon of the back lacing, because I think it’s unnecessary and comes undone quickly. Honestly, at some point I had to add a tag to the bundle so I would remember which ribbon belongs to which dress. Once I panicked, because the ribbon of an AP dress was so cheap, I absolutely thought it must’ve belonged to a Bodyline dress, but it ended up being the right one.
But waist ties? How easy is that. If I don’t use them I just store them on the same hanger (you can just use the buttonhole and pull the hook through it).
>>
>>10506023
Do you not remember the girl who was trying to sell a single waist tie on Lacemarket
>>
>>10506309

Ayrt

Agree. I know where all my waist ties are and If I were to sell a dress I would dig them up to make sure that they stayed with that dress.

Low key someone didn't disclose all the missing pieces of a dream dress of mine. When I got it, it was missing all the ties and bows. I was so pissed. I messaged the seller who said she would look for them, but she ghosted me afterwards.

It's okay now though, someone posted the same dress months later for a ludicrously low price, so I bought it just for the missing pieces.
>>
>>10505914
idc if they price it higher, just don't tell me i have to pay more than i agreed to after i already bought something and be up front about the price
>>
>>10506309

Moving houses will do it, especially if there's other people involved, so what can started out well-organised can end up with the box containing all the detachable bits being shoved somewhere in storage.

Or it might not even be missing, you never know if something happened to the waist ties but not the dress, like a house fire, pest infestation, dog ate it, lost luggage, someone stole some stuff and accidentally ended up with waist ties, etc etc. Or the far more likely explanation that someone bought it secondhand and it just didn't come with any detachable bits.

This >>10506236 and >>10506403 are just kinda assholey though. At least disclose the missing pieces are missing, and if seller does find the missing pieces it'd be nice to ask the buyers if they still want it. I think half the time they won't (if they already knew the waist ties were missing and were okay with that when they bought the dress it's likely they can't be bothered to pay shipping for the extras they didn't count on anyway), but it's still polite to ask anyway.
>>
>>10506496
>if they already knew the waist ties were missing and were okay with that when they bought the dress it's likely they can't be bothered to pay shipping for the extras they didn't count on anyway
What? Do you even lolita ?
Yes I would pay to ship that, even international.
>>
What is it with some lolitas listing unpopular dresses, or even unpopular cuts/colors for market value or above? Even new with tags. Like, if anyone else wanted that mess they would've bought it by now. You should've wanted it bad enough to keep it because no one is paying face value for that except you. And it's almost always some form of gingham, AP solid, or stained.
>>
>>10506515
Do you know what market value is?
>>
>>10506309
There are some items that I own for 10+ years. Since then I have moved 4 times. I was in a long distance relationship for a long time, so I've basically lived out of suitcases for more than 2 years until we finally moved together. Things got lost or forgotten on the hotel floor, while moving or traveling, while I stayed at my parents parents or while I trusted my laundry to my mom or my bf. It were usually the small detachable things that went missing, like waist ties, brooches, pins. Though once I forgot an Excentrique jacket in a hotel room and I'm still sad about it today even though it happened like 5 years ago. I'm much more careful today, but it still happens from time to time that for example some brooch just falls off while walking around and I don't notice it until I get home again.
>>
>>10506515
Stay mad, poorfag.
>>
>>10506501

>half the time they won't
>half, not all

Not every dress that gets sold is somebody's dream print, sometimes it will just be a nameless, not-that-popular, nobody-cares nice solid dress that had waist ties and now it's just still a nice solid dress without waist ties, the new owner may or may not care about it.

Not to mention, if it's missing some pieces in the first place, the most likely person to buy it is someone on a lower budget willing to settle on a lower price with an incomplete dress. In their eyes, the discount may no longer be "worth it" if they have to pay extra to ship the waist ties, especially if the dress isn't all that highly valued to begin with (either market value, or the buyer's own; the dress may have been bought because it was cheap and not because it was on the buyer's wishlist).

Then, there's a couple of prints where the "waist tie" is just a long ribbon with nothing on it (AP's Melty Berry, at least one Moitie dress, probably others), so it may have already been replaced (if you don't like taobao/eBay ribbons, just shell out for Shindo Inc ribbons, they're pretty close to brand quality).

There's also gonna be at least a few who have already sold the dress to someone else, so of course they have no use for waist ties of a dress they no longer own. Heck, if the sale was years ago the buyer may have even sold the dress on, too.

Disregarding the ones that, I guess, don't like waist ties (? I mean, if so many get lost/misplaced then I guess there's some girls who don't like them?) -- there's enough reasons why some buyers won't bother paying extra to ship random missing waist ties.
>>
>>10506625
You're making up excuses not to ask though. I need them for any dress to fit. I've even bought a dress without the back lacing and was grateful the seller was able to find it and get it back to me.
>>
>>10506625
desu I wouldn't do it for basic corset lacing but I would definitely pay extra shipping for something big like waist ties or non-generic detachable bows

I’d been looking for that special set for a little now and this listing hurt me

>collectors
>wear the fashion
Those are kind of... opposed to each other. When you collect something (I collect plushes and figures.) you want to keep it in one piece, yes, but you also want to have it maintain optimal value. Why do you think people display figures in cabinets, even for smaller collections? Or why do you think people display plushes on shelves instead of plopping them on their beds to sleep with? It's to maintain that optimal condition and avoid damage.

With clothes, even if you're very very careful, it's still possible to accrue stains over time. And the optimal state is NWT. So, yeah. If you're collecting you're going to wear clothes as little as possible, to avoid damage as much as possible. I wouldn't call that wearing the fashion. I'd call it "using your body as a display mannequin for a collection."

I only post about 1-4 coords a month but I wear lolita almost every day. Not everyone cares about getting attention online.
>>
>>10507737
It hurts me that someone actually bought it too
>>
>>10505127
It's meant to be Whyteleafe.

A heffalump and woozel?

I had some trouble with emails from Lacemarket (I noticed a buyer bought something after 3 days!) so your seller might have the same problems. If you want, you can try to find them on ig and contact them there. maybe the username is the same.
>>
>>10508159
Don’t do that, it’s creepy
>>
>>10508159
I think the best way to handle it is to use the e-mail that you use for the invoice to message them.
>>
>>10508161
>>10508169
I thought she already did that! the problem is that usually you receive an email when somebody buy something from you on lacemarket. if the seller doesn’t see/open/reply to that email, how are you going to contact them?

>Depop
Ugh
>>

>usually you receive an email
That sadly not always the case.

Who else is waiting to see how much the Honey Cake OTKs end up selling for?
>>
>>10508352
It's weird that idiotinkorean was the top bidder last I checked when that user is always reselling stuff for financial emergencies or whatever; you'd think someone struggling would be more responsible.

I'm quite excited to see how much the socks go for. Weird that AP didn't rerelease them.
>>
>>10508352

Socks are interesting but I'm just wondering when this seller is going to just remove this memorial cake listing because of how filthy the headbow is. It's under $200 and seemingly no one wants that nasty shit.
>>
>>10508352
I'm amazed that people are bidding for that shitty beat up honey cake bag for 66 bucks. Someone just listed their brand new one for 100, I'd rather just pay a bit more to get one in better condition.
The MTO and original are pretty much the same anyways.
>>
>>10508361
Same person is (or was) trying to sell DDC with cigarette burns.
>>
>>10508352
$111 for some socks, jfc

That shit has head lice

There is a special place in hell for people who split sets.
>>
>>10508414
I'm laughing at this dumbassery. NWT - but no apron, cause you're keeping it? AND more than retail? Fuck outta here.
>>
>>10508428
On god same. Since wine OP didn’t even sell out on the US site in the bloodbath I hope no one buys it.
>>
Just saw this on a listing for a JSK

Why are people like this
>>
>>10508487
Wha-like, what??
Currently shipping is fucked up due to Corona and Christmas. What kind of question is that.
>>
>>10508352
Wasn't the set (OTKs and Yolk JSK) up for bidding for like $375? Why are they now split and the JSK $700ish?
>>
>>10508548
multiple people requested to buy just the socks, so they put them and the bag up in their own listings
>>
Do you guys think people will sell more of the Melody Toys jewelry after the USA drop? I am in desperate need of the Bear Toy necklace and ring.
>>
>>10508549
It's so weird to me though, there were zero bids for days for the set? Why then list it for $700? (Also with stains, color bleeding, and missing waist ties lol.)
>>
>>10508560
it was a 14 day auction, people were probably waiting until there was less time to place bids. But enough people asked about individual pieces so they split the set and listed just the JSK and KC with a price they would be ok with letting it go for; even with all that damage I can imagine it'll still sell.
>>
>>10508428
That OP set is $360 if you buy it from AP directly newfag.
>>
>>10508414
I think it's fine if they're selling it below retail, which she is. I don’t know why people are so weirdly salty about this, it's not like the idiots who sell just one waist tie or the burando ribbon chick.

>>10508428
Are we looking at the same listing? It's $300 for the OP, that's $80 cheaper than AP USA.
>>
>>10508414
They wanted the apron but no one would split their set, so they bought an OP specifically to get it. Why are you salty about it? it's not like the wine OP with the apron isn't still in stock at AP JP/USA
>>
>>10508567
Probably will still sell. But older HC pieces still pop up frequently enough that a decent amount of people may end up not wanting to buy and waiting. The socks and non rereleased colorways and cuts are the rarest since everyone and their mom who doesn't hate poly got the MTO, but a harder to find cut may not be worth the price with stains that aren't guaranteed to come out.

I do wonder why the seller didn't just list the JSK and KC as bidding. They'd probably have been able to get more than their BIN price with a bidding war. People competing for an item will likely bid far more than they'd ever pay for a BIN even if there's obvious damage because of the mental fuckery of auctions.
>>
>>10508638
And only $15 cheaper than AP Japan. Plus shipping from Singapore. I also think it's overpriced especially without the apron.
>>
>>10508955
The price on the site is before tax newfag.
>>
>>10508845
More than $700 for a stained HC JSK with red bleeding and missing waist ties? Come on anon, we both know she made out like a bandit at that price.

The KC tho I agree with you. Probably could have gotten $300 for just that.
>>
>>10509054
What's your point? Tax isn't retail price.
>>
>>10509537
God you're stupid.
