I hate Tulle, it looks like it feels cheap and scratchy
>>
There’s already another new thread, retard
>>
>>10495560
I take it back, it’s already awful
>>
I'm crushed that I won't receive the Little Witch jewelry in time for Halloween, Paris hasn't even started shipping yet. I guess I'll have a cute coord for next year at least.
>>
So who is planning their Christmas coord already? Real angelic pretty fans skip halloween.
>>
>>10495633
I ordered jewelry snow a month or so ago when it went on sale in the jp shop but i cheaped out and got freight shipping. What are the chances I get the package by Christmas? Lol
>>
>>10495635
so today is oct. 29th 2020 and you stated that you ordered the package "a month or so ago" which is around Sept. 29th 2020. Christmas is on Dec. 25th 2020 and if you want the package to arrive before Christmas(xmas) lets use Dec. 24th 2020 for the calculation. the day before Xmas is exactly 56 days from today or 86 days away from the time you place the order. that's 8 weeks or 12 weeks respectively. because of covid-19 according to uspsoig.gov "package may be delay" we have to add that into our calculations as well. we'll use c19 in the formula to represent covid-19.

so after adding and subtracting everything including c19 I can safely say that you will recieve your package before Xmas(Christmas).
>>
The secondhand AP market feels dead. I know I'm bias because I'm a 2010 sweet whore, but my spending has gone way down the past two months. There's almost no good listings recently.
>>
Am I high or did AP USA never receive a Petit Heart shipment? I remember they got the Falling Heart socks which came out around the same time
>>
>>10495692
they never did, you are not high.
>>
>>10495681
to some extent yes, and I have found myself buying more new stuff than ever, but I definitely have been able to score from dream dresses this year.
>>
>>10495681
if it means anything I just culled a bunch of 2008-2012 AP blouses and dresses from my wardrobe, but I'm gonna wait a month or two before I bite the bullet and sell everything I picked out
>>
>>10495692
Does AP even care about APUSA? It feels like they don't get 90% of the things that AP releases.
>>
>>10495939
No, they don’t
>>
>>10495926
nayrt but will you post in the BST thread?
>>
>>10495926
I'll be waiting and ready to buy. I love old blouses.

>>10495912
I bought a lot earlier in the year, but now it's like everything has dried up. AP rarely releases anything good anymore. I've only snagged some of the accessories.
>>
One hour since the drop, none of the broom jewelry is sold out.
>>
>>10496023
it's laughable how ugly it is
>>
>>10496038
I think it's really cute but I don't have any witchy stuff to pair it with.
>>
>>10495615
Halloween is until Nov 25th, Anon. You've got time.
>>
>>10496045
Same, I almost want to buy it just because it's cute but I have nothing to wear it with.
>>
>>10496023
It looks insanely cheap IMO
>>
I's been two boring releases for the last two weeks so chances are this week will be a print. I'm betting it's Lovely Poodle I want it to be Toy Museum though.
>>
So how long will we have to have to wait for an Ice Cream Parlor MTO?
>>
>>10496045
>>10496054

Three of us. The lavender stick is throwing me off, there's nothing lavender in my halloween wardrobe.
>>
>>10496667
It’s not happening
>>
>>10496666
I want it to be toy poodle so I can save up for toy museum lol I spent way too much on Halloween shit
>>
>>10496667
I'd be surprised if they do one, they might do a new years re-release of the SP. But then again people weren't expecting the fall/summer release either so eh who knows
>>
>>10496692
Am I the only one that thinks toy museum looks a little cheap and washed out? It's like discount Charlotte Bear

I read squirrel in John Oliver’s accent. I’m here for it.

Risa does not suit that JSK at all.
>>
>>10497611
The high waist JSK and the salopette only
>>
>>10497606
I need to stop buying AP jewelry for the moment if they are going to keep rereleasing things. AP never used to rerelease jewelry years after the fact.

Black for sure
>>

Girly sticker, toy museum and now this, why must brand cost money and make me unable to buy every release I want

Girly Sticker will definitely go on sale

Are they releasing accessories besides the headbows and tights?

I'm hoping they're going to release the original OTK socks and some jewelry but I'm not getting my hopes up. I already own the headbow/jsk/tights so I'm good in the department.

Toy doll box salopettes and hanikami bear KC are on AP USA right now.

thanks anon!! I saw the salos were on AP earlier but not the bear KC, was almost about to buy the more expensive one on LM and now I don't have to.

I also want AP to rerelease the OTKs. They are impossible to find and now everything else has been rereleased except these.

I stress bought the sax KC (I already have the white) because I'm in the US just waiting for the election to be over.
>>
>>10497934
I'm getting the tights but really want the otks too.
>>
>>10497858

Don't they use these beads because they look like candy? btssb does a similar thing with their konpeito stuff.
>>
Okay, am I crazy or did AP USA never get the Star Toy necklace rerelease? AP USA just updated thier banner on FB for Girly Sticker.
>>
>>10498378
No they don’t always get items
>>
I managed to get the mint JSK and headbow but the rings were all sold out by the time I got to checkout. Guess I'll make do with the necklaces for now.
>>
>>10498503

Wanted the rings and they were all in stock and in my cart, but couldn't justify inflated AP Paris prices and shipping. Would rather test my luck in a USA bloodbath or go without.
>>
>>10498506
My luck with USA releases is shit so I don't even try at this point. I didn't even want the bear or bunny rings initially, just the heart one, but since I struck out it makes me want to have them all now lmao
>>
>>10497903
friendly reminder that scalpers heavily over speculated TDB and you can find most cuts and color ways on discount on fril and Mercari.
>>
>>10498503
I saw the email 10 minutes too late and most of the jewelry was sold out. Preparing for the Japan release tonight. If I’m not successful, I might as well buy a scalped listing because AP USA is so expensive.

I’m not super familiar with paris releases. Do they release at the same time each week, or is it random based on the email?
>>
>>10498533
ayrt, I'm also not super familiar with Paris releases but I usually see their reservations up the day before official JP releases. I want to try for JP but I'm not familiar with the site at all :/
>>
>>10498530
so many people reselling it too
>>
>>10498533
What? Paris is way more expensive than AP US. Unless you’re factoring in shipping costs and you live in Europe
>>
>>10498567
I bought a pair of socks from AP USA and AP Paris and the end price is with shipping is very similar, Paris was maybe like $5-7 USD more which I'm fine with paying (International shipping is more expensive)
>>
>>10498567
Yeah it’s the shipping
>>
AP US 10th anniversary Milky Bear that was previewed a while back this weekend. I foresee a bloodbath, especially since the Little Witch jewelry is releasing too
>>
>>10498533
The time is random and depends on the email, but they release stuff on Thursdays often
>>
>>10498503
This rerelease makes me sad because the dresses were all in stock hours later frpm being released so many times - all anyone is after now is the accessories. I'm trying to get the brooch, heart jewelry, and the bunny toy ring and have been after them for several years. I don't even care about the bear jewelry. I'm really counting on my SS this time because of how bad I heard AP USA's site crashed for Little Witch. I have a sinking feeling about it all. What sucks more is my SS is so busy that they normally don't say whether they secured my items until at least 24 or 48 hours afterwards, so I can't even buy scalped listings tonight without chancing doubles.

Sorry that turned into a rant.

>>
>>10498717
After I refreshed the item I wanted sold out (pink bear necklace). I was in a bit of shock seeing it like that so if I thought to refresh right away, maybe.

I’ve been having good luck with AP USA for a change so I still have a tiny bit of hope.
>>
>>10498730
It's an hour past release and the SF limited bear is still in stock. That flopped hard.

>>10498997
I'm actually scared that AP USA won't get the Melody Toys items. I missed out on the heart necklace and I'm depending on AP USA now, but they didn't get the Star Toy necklaces (not even the new glitter lavendar color). So I'm worried that rerelease-related items will fall through the cracks (even the new bear jewelry).
>>
>>10499011
ayrt and I'm a little worried about that too. I feel really bad but I might just buy a scalped listing if I can find one.

They got tons of stock for the SF bear. It lets you add almost 40 to your cart. If only they'd do that for certain other items...
>>
>>10499011
>>10499027
iirc their 10 year anniversary is usually celebrated closer to Thanksgiving. maybe they'll have a special round of items next weekend or the weekend after.

I'm hoping for the Melody Toys jewelry too (and the bag, although not likely at this point). best of luck!!
>>
>>10499027
Wow I didn't even investigate as far as you did. I thought maybe AP USA never got a lot of stock in order to cut down on shipping prices, but 40 bears would be a huge box.

I'm pretty sad about missing the heart necklace. I might take the plunge and buy a scalped listing. Although the only ones up are for the necklace and ring, so I'd be buying a double of the ring. I wish we didn't have to wait at least 2 weeks for AP USA to catch up to Japan.
>>
>>10498947
why would you want a replica
>>
>>10499032
Ouch, anon. Hang on there and see if you'll have any luck with AP USA. I would love to get the pink heart necklace, but I am not willing to make a deal with a scalper.
>>
>>10499011
Still up after 3 hours, oh well.

At least I'll break even on it
>>
>>10498997

>>
I’m kind of glad they at least got plenty of stock for something I love the minty bear

I actually thought the same thing haha. But there are probably way more out there the people bought already
>>
Is there any chance to get AP Paris to send my MTO plush bag in Express Mail if I ask them to?

>>
>>10500645

>>
>>10499045
Well I caved and bought a listing for ~$80. The last time I bought a necklace from AP USA, with tax and shipping it was $72. I figured I didn't mind paying a little bit more if it saved me the stress. There's also no promise Melody Toys even makes it to a US rerelease.

If the USA does get it, it just means I can buy another lower priority item instead.
>>
>>10501052
I ended up buying one of the Little Witch necklaces from a scalper too. I knew AP USA would get them but honestly it saved me so much stress, paying more was worth it.
>>
No print this week, but there’s this cute cutsew dress.
>>
>>10501059
And a hoodie.
>>
>>10501060
This week’s release Sharon OP. There’s also a JSK and headbow. Interestingly no sax headbow as shown in pic related though.
>>
>>10501061
The Lacy Frill blouse is being released in white, pink, lavender, and black.
>>
>>10501062
And the Secret Fairy Cutsew, same colors as the above blouse.
>>
>>10501054
It's sad cause as much as I don't like scalping, sometimes it's kind of worth it for only $15 or $20 more. Of course I always go the SS route first, but once you miss out in those prices in yen, it's so much more expensive in USD.
>>
>>10500891
Mintkismet is currently unreliable, because her health is getting worse.
>>
>>10500089
It was never a very popular print even before the re release so you could get it for lower.
>>
>>10501076
Crazy that the yellow JSK still sold for almost $700 on LM
>>
>>10501061
Another release that looks huge. Great.
>>
>>10501121
yeah. poor Risa, getting put into these tents all the time
>>
>>10501076

Actually it sold out the year it was first released, it was just a rather chill, more laid back bloodbath that took a bit longer than the usual.

It came out the same year AP made a lot of darker, more 'grown-up' prints, and was the first sugary sweet pastel of that particular year iirc, so the sweets who liked pastel instead of the darker sweet AP was putting out pretty much went at it like a mini version of our current sweet boom.
>>
>>10500891
it is, only once out of three orders was it ever cheap. her fees are really high and it takes her 2-3 weeks to ship. I don't mind the wait because of her health, but at least leave the brand bags or gifts in the packages.
>>
>>10501061
OMG just release toy museum already, nobody wants this shit wtf
>>
>>10501159
Yeah it’s tacky that she keeps the novelties.
>>
>>10501061
>>10501121
can this trend die already? my other jfash friends are complaining about everything being excessively baggy.
>>
>>10501163
As a short person the length and bagginess combined is just unappealing on a dress I already wanted less since it's not a cute print. Some of my friends have no trouble with the sizing but some struggle with brand being too big.

I wish they'd at least do what Meta does and just offer different sizes now, but maybe add in a small size that caters to a bit of a smaller range, maybe in lower stock if they don't feel it will appeal to enough people.
>>
>>10501061
They keep releasing these lamp shaped dresses, I’m tired
>>
>>10501170
Same. It’s not that I hate solids either, I own a good number of non print AP.
>>
>>10501059
This is so cute but I don't want to spend nearly $200 on something I'll only wear as pajamas. Really wish AP would make a normal dress with cute details like this
>>
>>10501162
She keeps the novelties? Wtf?
>>
>>10501061
Is this supposed to be plus size? It's fucking huge
>>
>>10501173
It's honestly just rude. She's being paid for her service, it's not like she's taking a freebie in exchange for doing anyone a favor. It'd be one thing if people request she consolidate to save on shipping and she uses that as a reason to remove extras but if she is straight up taking gifts that kinds makes the buying experience less fun. I love getting cute notes when I buy secondhand domestic or international and use the notes some sellers write to practice my Japanese as well.
>>
>>10501185
doesnt she do in store? that means she only gets one novelty I think. could be wrong though
>>
>>10501196

If that's the case it makes a lot more sense, but if it's online and you get one with every order or something I'd be upset.
>>
>>10501168
>I wish they'd at least do what Meta does and just offer different sizes now
This. I have to plan on modifying every modern AP dress I get now.
>>
Got the Milky Bear OP in white and I'm 99% sure it'll have pink accent wings! So glad the blue colorway was more popular because I think it's so painful to look at. I bought the Melody Toys necklace in sax as well, because reasons? Also finally snagged a lavender cutsew... they sell out so fucking fast.
>>
>>10501160
Agreed that no one wants these crappy solids. AP could do so much better. They almost never sell well and it feels like AP loses money on them.

The next print release is probably going to be the Poodle one though, if Candy's instagram means anything.
>>
>>10501311

SUPPOSEDLY they sell well in Japan but not US, but desu I am willing to bet the prints are still the most popular. If they're going to do solids I wish they'd at least do some cute older style solids or maybe applique. Seems like it would be a minimal effort way to keep people happy. ALSO OFFERING BASIC PASTEL WRISTCUFFS REGULARLY which I will forever rage about. The energy I had to spend getting pastel wristcuffs in every color secondhand and number of times I missed out in bloodbaths just makes me salty as fuck.
>>
>>10501311
I would want them if they can in larger sizes. To echo the anon before, I wish AP had different sizes like Meta
>>
>>10501312
I liked last year’s Bunny Crown and Lovely Symphony, they were beautiful thick cotton too. Now it all seems like giant long poly though.
>>
>>10501275
Why would you think that? The white hoodie (the one released a few weeks ago) had white wings.
>>
>>10501314
I'm glad they don't, fatties hurt a brands reputation the same way a trap house hurts a neighborhood's property value
>>
>>10501060
The hoodie is so cute AF. I love this one better than the sweatshirt-looking one. I want to get it...but I'm not sure if I should wait for it to miraculously end up in a secondhand site for less.

I feel like offering multiple sizes (which is always perceived as fatty catering despite some brands doing it and still not being fatty friendly) would only serve to improve a brand reputation. Besides, currently AP has a reputation of being only for fatties and not fitting any petite girls anymore without having to super tighten the corset lacing if there is any; multiple sizes would mean shorter and thinner people could have appropriate size and length and AP can still rake in their fatbuxx. Right now they're toeing the line in a way no one is really happy with. Most of AP's non rerelease items are poly trash anyway so it doesn't really upset me to see fat people wearing HC MTO or the poly new prints.

Meta has it right; they continue to serve the small to average sized market in Japan and the west but also allow for a middle range and a landwhale or super tall range with the plus and plus plus sizes, so they get everyone's money as long as the dresses themselves are decent pieces. And Meta's poly feels a lot nicer to me on the pieces I own than AP so they have them beat there too for me. Meta was always best brand, but I'm kind of glad they aren't as popular; there's rarely a bloodbath for anything I want/like.

I don't think lolita should be made more accessible. I think the brands should shrink current sizing and nothing should go above a 95 cm bust, absolute tops. The range should be 75cm-95cm, not the 85cm-105cm it currently is. The fact that HC MTO was exclusively for fats is a tragedy for the ages.

Petite girls are the only ones who look good in lolita. Big boobed? Tall? Fat? This isn't the fashion for you, try pinup or something. I like that lolita is exclusive. I really do not understand why people will put clothing on their body that's so unflattering for their figure.

Do fatties and titty monsters not realize how terrible they look in lolita? It's worse than if they just wore frumpy normie clothes. They're drawing so much attention to how shitty they look. It doesn't surprise me that lolitas constantly talk about how you "just get used to" negative comments and dirty looks. I've been wearing lolita for 4 years, daily lolita for 2 years before the rona. I can count on one hand the amount of negative interactions I've had in public. Usually I'm just showered with compliments to the point that it's almost tiring to thank everyone because it happens like every 5 minutes it seems. I'm guessing it's because I'm thin, petite, and above average in the cuteness department - things very few lolitas can say about themselves.
>>
AP USA shipped my Wrapping Heart MTO today, if anyone was curious.

I don't buy from meta even for stuff I like, because
1. i dont want to share a dress with a landwhale
2. their regular size is too big for me, which is hilarious because I'm both tall for the fashion and not even anachan.

I still get compliments despite not fitting into Mary Magdalene so yeap, I think it's a larper too.

The bigger clothes help. I mean, I already wear AP because it fits better than Mary Magdalene, so while I'm not smol petite etc at least I still look decently put together and not like I squeezed into something too small for me (which you know the fatties will do anyway.)
>>
>>10501412
Meta is hilarious because their sizing is literally choosing between large, huge and fuckhuge. I'm a Japanese size M and Meta is too big for me, same for Moitie who also offers two different sizes that are both bigger than Japanese M. I'm not principally opposed to multiple sizes, but these brands are definitely catering to fatties by Japanese standards and saying that they still serve the small to average sized market isn't correct. I wish they did, but they don't.
>>
>>10501420
Not really agreeing with this post but I do find it strange how often you hear lolitas speak about negative comments/dirty looks etc. Not to say that I get showered in compliments, but the comments I get are 90% "you look nice" and 10% "what is this style called?"
>>
>>10501447
Same, their unshirred OPs are okay since they’re unlikely to ever be released for fatties but they’re rare.
>>
>>10501203
You don't get novelties online - those are in store only. You get a bag if you purchase a dress online.
>>
>>10501529
I guess Japanese meta wearers are just fat then cause I assume they are buying the regular to some degree? AP is huge too these days, especially HC and some other full back shirring JSKs in comparison to what they used to be and my complete point was that AP should do what Meta does but one better by offering a small size or something rather than only regular, bigger, and biggest options.
>>
>>10501530

I get nice or just curious comments from everyone, except sometimes black men in their 20s (the same race and age generally as me). Sometimes black dudes just love making fun of people in their peer group who are different than the norm for them, even strangers in public, even if dressed well in less crazy looking stuff than lolita. One time 2 dudes in an elevator called me "Raggedy Ann"; my hair isn't red and I was wearing a lavender berry print dress, so idk if they meant strawberry shortcake (I get that a lot with berry prints) since she used to be a Raggedy Ann doll, or were just being mean spirited and couldn't think of anything relevant to say.

I've also had homeless people approach me more when I'm in lolita in busy downtown areas and then get angry and call me ugly or other insults when I tell them I don't have cash on me. But they'll do that to anyone who says no dressed any way cause it happens in normie clothes for me too.

It probably really depends on your age, where you live, if you're still in school or university, the disposition of some random stranger you see that day, and a lot of other factors. That being said, most people don't care enough to waste time insulting strangers and those "dirty looks" are probably self conscious people misinterpreting curious stares because they arent used to the attention.
>>
>>10501572
Japanese lolitas are usually on the fatter end, I think. I remember lolitas used to be regarded as like the unpopular/weirdo nerds in a class, usually stereotyped online to be ugly, so it could make sense for the brands to have bigger sizing. Also obesity levels rising around the world doesn’t help
>>
>>10501585

I'm hard-pressed to believe Japanese lolitas are fatter than westerners on average considering their whole country is known for having such low BMIs they have to have their own scale to prove to westerners they're just healthy and not ana-chans. I think people complaining about stuff being too big are just people who are even more petite than Japanese lolitas and few and far between, or larpers mad that fatties get more size inclusivity while they aren't doing the same for petite people, which is unfair, but most Japanese women on average are smaller than most western ones and I've yet to see anyone corroborate sizing complaints between the west and Japan, though you are correct about people getting fatter all around the world in general. Even Misako is fairly thin and before you assume it's because she's a model she's also a nurse that's pushing 40 soon, the time when a lot of people tend to gain weight. The closest I've heard is that longer cuts from AP are supposedly trying to appeal to older Japanese lolitas who want stuff that can pass as more normie girly stuff and wanna cover up their bodies even more than typical lolita standard as they age.
>>
>>10501603
Sorry, the anon you replied to, I meant Japanese lolitas might be fatter than the average Japanese person (which is already pretty tiny in comparison to Americans)
>>
>>10501603
>they have to have their own scale to prove to westerners they're just healthy and not ana-chans

The Asian BMI calculator still considers anything under 18.5 to be underweight, the only difference is that the cutoff BMIs for being considered overweight/obese are lower.

Asians with a BMI of 23+ are considered overweight, whereas the regular BMI calculator only classifies you as overweight is your BMI is 25+.
>>
>>10501607
Ahhh, gotcha. That makes a little more sense. I'm not mad or anything, hope my long response didn't make it seem that way.

Some people were claiming to be a Japanese M and swimming in Meta as if max measurements of a piece somehow negate the minimum ones or the fact that waist ties and coreset lacing can help a dress fit, and that's the confusing part for me. I really just wish brands would offer small sizes on the other end of the spectrum and include everyone. Kind of like how nowadays western brands are becoming truly "size inclusive" by having not only really big sizs like 6xl but also the smaller ones like 3xs to really accommodate everyone. obviously lolita brands can't go that far but shirring being common helps with flexibility and Meta is already going up to like US 3 or 4xl at least with their plus plus sizes so it's not impossible.

Have you... seen the minimum measurements on these dresses? Looking at the recent My Dear Friends release on their website, the minimum measurements of the regular size are said to be 86cm bust and 70 cm waist. If you're on the low end of Japanese M that's already kind of baggy, and for S it would definitely be too big.
>>
>>10501668

I presume that's without corset lacing or waist ties tied. Yeah it's not ideal and of course we'd all prefer to have a smaller sized option available too in the end, but the current state isn't so bad it makes it unwearable for a thinner person. If you're flat chested AND a Japanese S which is at least xssmall by western standards sure you'd struggle a little but pretending as if an item being a little oversized is going to ruin the look completely when so many other adjustments can be made to accommodate comes off just as whiny as fat people claiming the current options for them in lolita aren't enough and they need bigger dresses.
>>
This argument is stupid and I hope AP never makes multiple sizes. It would make secondhand shopping incredibly irritating. Only the normal/regular size would sell out while all the fat sizes would be left. This is how normal clothing works too. Smalls and mediums are always sold-out before large and extra large, because even fat people like squeezing into smaller clothes to feel good.

AP can't separate its production efforts into large and small sizes when they don't even want to produce enough for normal bloodbaths. I wish everyone would just accept that it's a "one-size-fits-all" scenario and move on.
>>
>>10501687
First of all, JP S is smaller than a US XS. Meta is bigger than JP M, which a lot of people in various jfashions are. If Meta lists the minimum bust at 36inches, I can't tighten it enough for it to be medium size of 38in when I'm 34. Nor can I tighten the waist to the medium of 29in, when my waist is 25.
3in may seem like nothing when you're already big, but for smaller sized people it's a lot.
You just seem bitter than you think AP sizing is small, when anyone not fat thinks it's big.
>>
>>10501668
I think the sizing has also changed for S and M. I used to be a Japanese M 5-6 years ago, but now I'm an S (when my measurements haven't changed). This might be what people mean when they claim their generic size.
>>
>>10501721
New Meta starts off at 34 inches so it’s not going to be huge on your bust. You can certainly tighten with the waist ties to bring their starting waist of 27 inches to 25. I also have a 34 inch bust and new Meta fits me just fine.
>>
>>10501721

What even? I have been consistently saying AP and all brands should offer smaller size options. How does that make me a landwhale? I just acknowledge that if the brands are trending larger and want to make money off fats the logical solution to retain smaller customers is to also accommodate them by offering a small size, and using Meta as an example because they are currently the main brand offering like 3 sizes on almost every other release right now.
>>
>>10501716
Most people are fine with one size but fats and more recently small people can't shut up whining that one size Japanese clothing doesn't perfectly fit them.
>>
>>10501740
You missed my point. If the range goes from 34-42, then for it to actually fit properly, you have to be 36-38. If the minimum size waist is 27-35, then you have to be 29 for it to properly fit.
Fat lolitas don't seem to understand how sizing impacts how flattering clothes will be. Just as you can't fit when you're 2 inches above the allotted measurements, you can't be below it either. Tying the waist 2-3inches down wrinkles the fabric, and looks bad.
You're, ideally, supposed to be in the middle of the range or close, for it to be your size.
>>
>>10501757

Nayrt but first of all not everyone who finds your thought process weird is the same person or fat. Second of all, I'd agree with you if not for the fact that shirring exists and if you're buying new it's intact and holds its shape well enough, that 2-3 inches is silly because the elastic sucks the garment into its smallest measurement unless you stretch it out.

Also arguments about multiple sizes meaning fat sizes will be all that's left after a bloodbath are a lie; in western alt clothes like dollskill or even indie fairy kei and pastel fashion stuff the stuff that stays in stock longest is small and XS, because fatties buy up all the XL and L and Small and Med people size up to have a comfortable oversized fit or extra room. Sure that aspect isn't going to apply as much in lolita but your dress likely has more secondhand resale value when it's bigger too because fatties jump as plus sized secondhand items, so the bigger sizes will still sell out first, which is seemingly what happened for Meta the last few times, even accounting for the fact that they also had two separate markets competing for regular sizes.
>>
>>10501757
That’s not at all how shirring works anon, shirring will stay at its minimum so long as you’re not stretching it out like landwhales do.
>>
>>10501757
I have no idea what you're talking about because my bust is 32in (underbust is 28in) and with a bra and blouse, 34in minimum size JSKs fit me just fine. In fact I was worried the first time I bought an AP JSK for this very reason, and it felt like the dress was made for me. We're talking about a circumference of 2-3 extra inches, meaning 1-1.5 inches on either side, which goes very quickly with a blouse plus whatever movement you are doing in the clothes. It's not supposed to be skin tight.

Granted, AP OPs are large on me because there's no blouse taking up any room, but I've never had a problem with any JSK up to 2017.
>>
>>10501762
>Also arguments about multiple sizes meaning fat sizes will be all that's left after a bloodbath are a lie
All the brands you listed are not AP. AP is in it's own tier and comparing it to anything else is pretty useless. Fat people might be the most vocal group, but I'm pretty sure regular sized people are still the majority of buyers for AP. Even I admit that if someone had a wardrobe full of larger sized AP, it would be worthless compared to a wardrobe of regular sized AP. Status is something that is always going to be present in lolita and fat sizes will never be valued more because they are less "authentic," in a way.

Also.. I sure as hell don't want to be fighting on WW or CC for a JSK and click so fast that I miss what size I'm buying, because I have literal seconds to make a decision. My opinion might change if AP actually produced enough quantity that it wasn't an extreme pain to buy any semi-popular dress. But multiple sizing is a hard no from me when everything is already in short supply.
>>
ok so if ap ever did offer large/small sizes I hope they charge up the ass for the larger sizes needing extra fabric/etc. I'm sick of brands charging the same for XS and XL.
>>
>>10501765
Don't waste your time with this idiot anon, they're clearly larping as a small person. Agreed on blouses taking up some of that extra room as well, ease is a thing you include in clothing for a reason, no one just stands still and does nothing in their clothes. I have similar measurements to you and I fit AP and BABY comfortably. I haven't bought any non cotton newer Meta because I don't like poly but the stuff from more recent years I do own fits totally fine so long as I bought it new/not previously owned by someone who stretched the elastic a ton.
>>
>>10501771

You literally have no idea what you're talking about and it's painfully obvious. Yes sizes may make it harder to buy future releases with varying sizes secondhand but it hasn't caused that many issues with the few AP and BTSSB items with various sizes that currently exist as far as I can tell. The last chocolate release made that obvious. Brands don't care how easily you can buy from CC and if you read slow that's your problem; the brands care how easily you can buy new from them which separate sizes for BOTH bigger and smaller people improves for those who may really be sized out on either end and guarantees the brand more money.
>>
>>10501773
It would be totally fair to charge more for pieces that use more material like how OPs cost more than JSKs at times, but they can charge whatever they want. We're not owed a discount for being thinner, and they make extra charging the same for XL and XS so they have no incentive not to.
>>
>>10501776
You must not buy from CC regularly. I know CC doesn't care, but things have gotten to a fever pitch on there. You literally can't read the listing. If you see a picture you click and go. It's harder to buy popular secondhand AP from CC now than it is to buy from AP releases. You basically have to use a bot. So I guess we can all code sizes into our scripts now.

It's whatever though. Neither of us can control what AP decides to do. I'll just be disappointed if they make the situation more complicated than it needs to be. I don't trust AP to produce more of each size. I think they would sooner just split production between the two. It could work if sizes were offered as MTOs. Maybe.
>>
>>10501776
That's the thing though - AP doesn't care about being accessible or making money. Otherwise they'd make it easier to buy from the Japanese site, or have done a Milky Planet MTO.
>>
>>10501793
The only good new AP releases are MTOs anyway so that's all that matters.
>>10501795
AP cares about making money when it involves simping for fat $$$ and producing low quality garments in comparison to their previous standard so long as they can get diehard APfags to keep buying, apparently, based on HC MTO and all the poly new releases since.
>>

>>10501795
Every company cares about making money, what people here don't understand is that western sales are a drop in the bucket compared to Chinese sales. Americans are so used to being the number one customer and being catered to in every sense that they hilariously accuse companies of self sabotaging when it doesn't happen. It's very Karen of you all.

I don't enjoy the China pandering either (holy shit the recent release with the awful Chinese looking sleeves) but at least I understand that there are girls out there putting down massive capital for them and we aren't. It's kind of like the Disney stuff, fucking god awful but I'm not blind to reality or why it happens.
>>
>>10501908
To be fair though, there's no good way to give AP money in the US. Releases (at last the good ones) sell out quickly and we don't get any favors or extra stock. How are Americans supposed to give AP huge sums of money? We're doing the best we can wirh what is provided to us. And frankly Americans make up a large percentage of people who use shopping services to get releases in Japan.
>>
>>10501912
Imagine thinking Chinese lolitas don't use shopping services. There's more Chinese buying brand than Americans.
>>
>>10501773

It doesn't change the amount of work or the number of findings that goes into a dress, and this being the AP thread there's usually a million things going on in the dress other than how much fabric there is.

I agree, it's not just that the fatties should be charged more if they're using that much fabric, the extra higher pricing would make up for a smaller market size, so if the fatties want their AP then paying higher pricing is good incentive for AP to give them more dresses.

I'm just explaining that it's not all about fabric cost, a lot of the cost for an AP dress is in the labour, detailing, and the artwork fees.

same. it's too thick and shapeless. atleast if it was thinner fabric it would look floaty.
>>
>>10503011
See I love the sheer overdress look. I agree the quality doesn’t look the greatest but meh, sadly I’m used to that now.
>>
>>10503011
It's growing on me. I don't like it when it obscures a print (like in Cecilia Cross), but I feel like it works on this one. Or maybe I'm just desperate, who knows.

What is with AP lately with their obsession with bibs
>>
>>10502974
The star trim is so pretty. Ready to see lolitas whining in RCU about how AP is stealing from smaller creators (remember the boguta ita magnet skirt?)

The teacup is so cute. I wish AP USA got these kinds of novelties.

I think the silver's actually hotprinted onto the overlay this time, so nothing will be really obscured, even if an underskirt is added.

Agreeing, the star lace feels like a huge improvement over the other weird underskirt (that one always seems to look like a wardrobe malfunction if you angle the photo wrong).

I like it, just not enough to deal with that high waist. Pity.

I miss the days of two JSK cuts, but I know they're not coming back.
>>
>>10503078
It's sad because multiple cuts have always been a workaround for differences in sizing needs for bust or shoulders, etc.

Might be better for stupid questions thread, but does anyone know if it's normal for ap socks to 'tear' at the seams? When not being worn my socks are fine, but when on my legs (even on my water bottle) they stretch out, it makes me not want to buy any other otks from them
>>
>>10503081
You're either fat or someone fat wore them before you.
>>
>>10503081
I have had that with AP socks that are the thicker knit/not stocking material that have more "vertical" patterns if that makes sense. My calves are a bit big so I thought it was just me having muscular legs but I guess even on small things lile water bottles it happens?
>>
>>10503084
They're torn on the water bottle because they were already torn on fat legs. Once the tear starts even a small stretch will make it worse.
>>
>>10503081
Oh wow. Did you buy them secondhand? The only time I’ve seen socks like that is when the person is super huge and stretched them way out and weakens it, I’ve bought secondhand socks that showed up like that and it’s a bummer. Yeah even wearing them on chicken legs they separate all weird.
>>
>>10503085
Ahh, I figured it was just the socks being stretched. I have muscular legs from sports so I have accepted that my calves are fat for lolita legwear standards.

AP is releasing its own perfume.
>>
>>10503091
If it doesn't smell like fruit or sweets I don't want it. (Seriously tho many Japanese perfume and scented item scents are very floral in a way that does not smell nice on me for whatever reason)
>>
>>10503082
>>10503086
Yeah, I got them from lace Market, but they were part of a large set so I'm not too sad about them being stretched out. Glad to hear brand new socks won't likely do this though, the girly sticker ones were really cute

>>10503084
Thanks for the tips anon, I'll stay away from vertical line ones since they seem easier to stretch lol
>>
>>10503094
It's not like we'll be able to buy it anyway, unless Paris and the US get it.
>>
>>10503048
Agreed. Idk why they don't! They'd sell well.

I have an AP mug I snatched up on mercari years ago and I adore it. Wish I could have an AP mug collection.
>>
>>10503081
Wow. I'd be mad and leave a bad review. That's damage. That's not normal.
>>
>>10503091
Finally, a release for larger lolitas
>>
>>10503100

I chuckled a little bit anon
>>
>>10503098
I have some baby and aatp little covered dishes and I use them on my vanity to keep bobby pins and such in. I’d love more of this kind of stuff. The only novelties they ever sell in the us are pouches and folders/notebook covers and I just don’t need any more of those :(
>>
>>10503081
What do you even do with socks like these? I got some pairs off of mercari that are like this. I don't wear them and I don't think they're sellable in this state, either.
>>
>>10503106
Mercari? Damn maybe japanese lolitas really are fatty-chans.
>>
Talking about cuts, which ones are your favorite ones? My bet is for Milky Cross and Katrina OP cuts. I like these sorta victorian girl ruffled collar styles, >>10502974 would probably look good with it. They did a hybrid of both in Holy Milky Bear, but imo the dress lacks on details.
And btw, Astrology has reminded me of Cosmic. It was on my wish list a while ago, but I didn't end up buying it. Somehow none of the cuts got me 100% into. I think, OP would look so much better with longer sleeves alike to Wrapping Ribbon OP.
>>
>>10503107
Yeah, it sucks. I would give them away for free with another purchase but I don't want to scare the buyer into thinking I stretch out my brand.
>>
>>10503110
This cut is adorable but still has zero titty room. Not that we would expect that for an OP anyway.
>>
>>10503110
Same, I had Cosmic on my wish list for a while but I'm glad I didn't get it because I like Astrology better.
>>
>>10503106
Sell em in a lot for cheap. I’ve bought damaged socks like this for real cheap to wear when I’m going to be drinking and around a bunch of normies who wouldn’t notice the difference, like at a party at my house (RIP house parties) where I might take off my shoes, or an backyard bbq with peoples dogs. At any rate there is a market if they’re priced low, like $5
>>
>>10503113
>Not that we would expect that for an OP anyway.
Okay, this one seems like more fitting option, heh

>>10503120
Idk, foil print looks pretty cheap, although it might work better with darker background.
>>
>>10503125
I love the ruffles under an overlay, that’s really good looking. Sad that there’s no room for titties
>>
>>10503125
see, this i like.
>>
>>10503125
Mm good shit. I hope the Astrology OP is similar.
>>
>>10502979
Speak for yourself, I'm a 30DD, and have no problem with high waists. Sorry you're fat and think it's just your breasts. I'm not underweight or short either.
>>
>>10503157
I'm sorry you suffer from body dysphoria but trust me no one else thinks you look good
>>
>>10503106
Personally, I'd sew them back together. It's knit, you just have to match the thread color.
>>
>>10503157
As someone that shares a sister size with you and looks comical in those extreme high waist cuts, I'm doubtful
>>
>>10503157
>>10503158
>sorry you x
>i'm sorry you x
Can we stop with this retarded meme already
Get some better comebacks you braindead worms
>>
>>10503157
Seems like you have no problem looking like a fool either.
>>
>>10503174
Sister size means nothing. You fit into high waist better when your underbust is small and your boobs are in the front. It means you can push them up while not having bulk on the side.
30DD is pretty small compared to average. My point was that cup size is irrelevant. It's actual measurements that matter. 30DD measures 88-89cm.
>>
>>10503189
The dress shape in the bust isn't cut with a curve that is flattering to a bigger cup though.
>>
>>10503192
All of AP's high waists have a curve shape in person. I say this as someone with most of my AP jsks being highwaist.
They only look small on the mannequin. In person, they're often roomy.
Base your arguments on measurement rather than visuals.
>>
>>10503193
This, as someone busty they actually look the best on me. No boob loaf and very flattering. Glad I took a chance.
>>
Since Shibuya is getting Toy Museum and Astrology early, that means this week’s release is probably Lovely Poodle.
>>
>>10503193
That's good to know! If the shape is actually more round than the photos make it look I can see a very thin person with a larger cup size managing to look okay in them. I was thinking they just basically made all bodice seams on these pieces straight lines haha
>>
>>10503189
>It's actual measurements that matter
>for a dress with no measurements listed
>>
>>10503207
These dresses usually have full back shirring which means anyone not fat will fit them.
>>
How do i find an SS to buy a dress for me from Japan?
>>
>>10503209
just because something will fit doesn't mean it'll look good, basically that just means it's perfect for fatties with a c-cup and below
>>
>>10503237
Try the stupid jfashion questions thread
>>
>>10503265
Keep trying, maybe you'll get there. Until then envy will keep you occupied.
>>
>>10503272
again - the amount of shirring doesn't matter if the dress isn't made to accommodate anyone above a B-cup

To be fair, I have these same socks and they just suck ass. I've never encountered another pair of AP socks that have this same problem. I think it's the vertical stripes like the other anon said. I got them secondhand as well and never wore them because they look so bad, and the two sections just pull apart immediately. For reference, the circumference below my knee is 12.5" and above my knee is 14.5" So I guess call me fat if you want (I carry most my weight in my hips) but I think the socks are the problem.
>>
>>10503200
They're only getting one special color each for their anniversary
>>
I have the same, and no, they did not rip like that? :s
>>
>>10503285
I have the mint and they're fine, but I also think socks with more intricate vertical designs are smaller and prone to ripping if you have large legs.
>>
New thread >>10503529
>>
>>10503301
Yeah, but they're getting the print early in general, it says so on the page.
