>>10495254This is gorgeous, ugh. Hermes Trismegistus was right, the punishment of desire truly is the agony of unfulfillment.

>>10495252I’m kind of disappointed that this isn’t a skirt
>>10495249I'm so happy someone beat me to it. I was waiting for a release drop to start a new thread.I'm digging the overdress a lot. The OP is kind of a weird fabric to do it in imo though.
>>10495273Same. it would have so much versatility.
>>10495253I really love that purple and I really love how everything has pockets.
>>10495293I love the overdress, I just wish it came in more than black/grey. Some earth tones would be really nice (but I understand they don't go with the general feel of the release).
>>10495255I know it supposed to be a dragon but all I can see is the loch ness monster
>>10495398I think it's a peacock? They've been using them on some of their stuff lately.
>>10495252>>10495253>>10495254>Polyester gabardine stretch>95% polyester, 5% polyurethaneVM, why? Stretch fabric containing a waterproofing fiber...
>>10495682I'm so confused by this fabric. Polyurethane is used for PU / fake leather. So is the texture like suede? Sounds like it will smell terrible if you sweat at all.
>>10495682They dress itself is so cute but I can't look at it too closely or I feel itchy.
>>10495682Same thought, I was hoping it'd at least be cotton or something. Polyester/pu blend is the weirdest fiber content I've ever heard of.
>>10495817>>10495948I looked up this blend and it seems it’s a faux suede that’s used almost exclusively for upholstery.
>>10495973is it literally couch fabric, like the stuff my parents' couches are made of?
>>10495973>literally grandma’s couch fabrictoppest of keks
>>10496137>>10496138I really love the cut of the jacket, but I wish the peplum could fit a petticoat
A more classic release from MetaRosalie dress with cape and bonnet
>>10496178I want to see actual pics of the solid version, the dotted fabric looks very cute
>>10496178This is beautiful, any idea when the pre-order ends?
>>10495973I looked this up yesterday but it is also the same fabric as an older release of theirs called Maniera frill. Yes, not very breatheable, but it drapes decently and actually gives quite a royal vibe imo
The IW Belle Epoch series is up and I’m happy to say it’s at least cotton (though the print still looks like Christmas wrapping paper)
>>10498127I’m also really liking this Charlotte Pettiskirt
>>10498127IW finally comes out again with something I would buy, but in a length that would be at my ankles.
>>10498127Makes me think of JM
>>10497726Oh guess the fabric wasn't as experimental as I thought it wast. threadstarter
>>10498130It looks pretty easy to shorten, there's no trim on the hem or anything
>>10498140Yeah VM using literal upholstery fabric isn't new. I ended up getting it knowing it will be similar to some of my pieces and knowing the drape. I cannot bring myself to not buy a good purple dress.
Last hour or so before reservations for the Witches' Tea Party Series close.
>>10495249>>10495253>missed out on it by one fucking day
I now regret not buying this series. The sleeves hit just right ugh.
>>10501595They usually have some extra stock once it releases.
>>10495273Same. I'd actually fit a skirt.
>>10501595>>10501596Yeah and the extra stock is up right now. Looks like there's one brown jacket left.http://www.victorianmaiden.jp/SHOP/203MJK03.html
>>10501608I missed out on the skirt, but I did end up buying the OP oops.
Cross posted from >>10508118 but IW will have their reserves for lucky packs starting Nov 30th.They also have a new OP which will be included with the packs, however it looks like the reserve deadline has been reached for the OP
>>10508121The Rene OP in question.
Innocent World will release their millefeuille bolero in pink and green 12/7/2020 in sizes M and L.I might buy just this from them along with some socks. The green gets me so much.
Dumping some recent photos.
>>10512730Mother-daughter pairBuzzfeed wrote an article about their outinghttps://www.buzzfeed.com/jp/reonahisamatsu/mama-64
>>10512731This is so precious, her mom is really cute too
>>10512731Coords from IW's individual lolita lessonshttps://twitter.com/iw_osaka/status/1316709192506384384
I know this is not classic but more of an every day wear but I stumbled upon an Innocent World Penguindrum collab which I never knew of. This is one of my favorite series and I always wanted Himari's outfit. Since it's years old, what are the chances of this being restocked in the future? I know this kind of stuff is super limited , oh god i feel like i missed out so much.
>>10512874This really belongs in the stupid questions thread, but fine. The chances are slim to none, you’re better off checking the secondhand market obsessively.
>>10512874It was rereleased last year, so I don't think it will be restocked any time soon.
>>10512874This was a MTO and available for a long time. It will not be released again. You had a chance
>>10512874It pops up a lot on secondhand, so don't worry and just keep your eyes out on there.
>>10512879>>10512893>>10512906thanks, too bad i didn't know of it earlier>>10512997this gives me a bit of hope, what sites would you recommend for second hand market? I mostly check lacemarket and yahoo jp auctions
>>10513031mercari.jp, wunderwelt, maidenclothing, closetchild, fril.jp, usagiyouhinten
>>10512874>I know this is not classicWhat did anon mean by this?
>>10513343Newbies dont know about classic lolita, ignore them.
>>10513031the blouse is literally on fril right nowbut you'll be paying $$$
>>10512737This was a really comfy dump senpai, thank you.
It really hasn’t been a great year for IW
>>10497726>royal vibeRoyals, historically, have worn the most gaudy and loud fabrics. Plain colored couch upholstery fabric is not royal by any means.
>>10514630Cool, might get some stuff.Agreed that it hasn't been a great year for IW. Their releases haven't exactly kept up with the current trends and (I think) weren't popular with their current audience either. Then they also closed international sales for a period which probably hurt sales too. Come to think of it, I don't see IW being mentioned much anymore in FB groups. I remember IW being recommended for tallitas, but now I see Meta, AtePie and MAM recommended more often.
>>10514650>>10514630The quality dip combined with their near-blatant dislike for western buyers kinda killed their reputation, in my opinion. I'm hoping they start shipping internationally again soon. Also when will MM return from the war
>>10514630i can't be assed to go through an ss again and pay those taxes
>>10514703>>10514736Isn't their international store back up? See pic related from >>10462758.
>>10514745Sure, it's back up. EMS only, like before. And there is no EMS to the US.
>>10514773Oh, you're from the US. My apologies, then.
>>10514703I wouldn’t call it a dislike for western buyers, they’ve always been a great international brand. They’re taking a loss by not offering other shipping methods but I really don’t think it’s personal. They’re not shipping to my country either but my go-to SS is EMS only as well. Seems to be the case for a lot of companies. Can’t deny that quality dip though
>>10514736This, I want to give IW my money, stop making me pay extra to do that through someone else. I only got one dress and an apron from them this year, and while I like them, if you got one dress from their release this season you pretty much got them all. Accessories are nice though.
>>10514630Just looked through and not much besides a few pieces and accessories look cute. What the fuck is their trend of ugly fabric choices and long ass cuts? This definitely isn't what they were a decade ago when I threw all my money at them.
>>10514806AYRT, I thought I read somewhere that they upcharge western buyers, but I could be mistaken. As much as it sucks, if they weren't using DHL before I can see it possibly being too pricey/difficult to negotiate. I'm speaking without any solid background knowledge, though.I personally appreciate IW for their cotton OTKs, I don't think I've liked a dress release they've put out since at least 2016, which is disappointing.
>>10514971I have definitely been charged tax on items when I shouldn’t as an international buyer so it could be that. I’m too non-confrontational to call them on it though.I really hope they turn things around next year. I still consider them my favourite brand but I haven’t loved anything they released in a long time either
>>10515156I'd really love to see an IW renaissance myself; I know there was an initiative/incentive program recently for japanese companies to move manufacturing to Japan. I wonder if that would also lead to better fabric choices, at least?
VM is holding reservation for the new series "Swan Lake" which includes two types of OP, a skirt, and an underskirt as well as accessories. Reservation starts 12/12.A feature of this series is apparently original feather tulle lace.
>>10515216I apologise I forgot to mention there is also a skirt for the series
>>10515213That's some really nice lace
>>10515218Yep, I’m going to need that blouse
>>10515213anyone know if new VM is hard to resell around retail? love this but I'm worried if the fit will be off on me
>>10515240While blouses almost always sell below retail you almost never see them, so I always feel like it's a decent investment. I don't really sell brand blouses either anyways, they stay with me for life.>Cries in scalloped lace blouse
>>10515218>>10515216I can't get over how bad her wig/bangs are.But this looks like nice, traditional VM. I wish they offered the skirt in a slightly shorter size, but at least this one isn't meant to be floor-length.
>>10515218Is this not the Harvest Gauze Skirt? They have an underskirt with this release
>>10515218Normally I'm not into their cinnamon colour, but it looks really nice with the harvest gauze skirt. It really gives a nice muted feel to the entire outfit. I'm just hesitating because most of my accessories are ivory and I don't know how well they'll go with cinnamon.
>>10515524They won't go well together, VM's cinnamon is a nightmare to match. You'd be better off adding an acccent colour.
>>10495647Looks like a cassowary to me.
>>10514630> want to order some stuff> EMS won't ship to my countryI want to cry ;_;
>>10515639Oh man, thanks for the heads up! I was thinking of pairing it with my harvest gauze skirt in sesame, which is another color that is a bitch to match.
>>10514703>quality dip> dislike for western buyerswait, what? i haven't looked into their stuff for ages
>>10516361Their quality went downhill after they shifted gears and started doing more "grown up" stuff. IW kind of sucks at doing non-cutesy stuff, but that's all they're doing now.
>>10516398They used to do really nice "grown-up" (in my opinion) items as late as 2016, I think the issue is they've shifted more towards what VM does in terms of giving a polished, tailored look. IW, unfortunately, lacks the construction (those tube bodices) and material quality to pull it off.
>>10516402I think the JSK you posted is still pretty cutesy, but that's just difference in opinion. But yeah I agree with. IW's good at trimming and decorating, not the construction.
>>10516423It's definitely on the shorter side (if you want to qualify "grown up" as tea length+) but to me if you removed the bow it would be a (less put-together) Valeria cousin.I'm not trying to argue, I'm just genuinely curious where people's opinions lie when it comes to styles of different classic brands.
>>10516435I always wondered what made IW more 'cutesy' than the other brands even if they do straight up grandma wallpaper dresses like this, and the conclusion I've reached is their overall styling and not just the dress. I've seen people put very elegant coords with IW and I've had to do a double take. Maijuline for instance had a lot of very elegant coords that made me want an IW dress for its elegance rather than its cuteness.
>>10516466Like this strikes me as more elegant than cutesy I guess. Definitely still 'cuter' but it shows a more mature side of IW that really appeals to me.
>>10516466AYRT, the styling of this is definitely more cutesy than elegant. But the thing that both this outfit and >>10516470 that surprise me is the legwear is solid/visually uninteresting. I feel like that simplicity combined with other factors (brightly colored/loud accessories, shoe type for the first outfit, neckline size/shape for the second outfit) contributes to that "girly" feel.
>>10516435I don't think it is length though. Pic related is even shorter, but it still feels more "grown up" than your standard IW release. >>10516488 Is probably onto something about the overall styling and IW's more willing use of brighter/bolder fabrics/trim combinations.I dunno. Something about IW just makes it *feel* different from the other classic lolita brands.
>>10516668It's always been styled as more casual and sweet-classic. I think that's the difference. To me the items feel more wearable as everyday lolita.
>>10515241It really depends. I've had recent purchases sold for near retail, but I've also seen a handful of listings sit for months on the second hand market. This release is looking pretty popular though, so I think you should go for it.
Remember to vote in the American Duchess polls for the colors you want.
honestly even though i'm not a fan of IW's more grandma-type prints and their cutesy styling with florals and lacy boleros since my taste in classic dresses leans towards mature styles and darker colorways i will say that they are a godsend for taller lolitas i'm about 177cm and i can always count on finding IW dresses cheap secondhand bc they go down to other gulls' ankles or whatever lmfao
>>10515213I have so much love for this release.
>>10515213Wow, it's been a long time since I've been as excited about an OP as I am about this one. The details are so pretty!
Sneak peek of an upcoming IW series. It will come in ivory, pink, light purple and dark purple.>https://twitter.com/iw_fujiwara/status/1340160293586923520
>>10519944Looks beautiful but I’ll need to see the cuts. Fingers crossed for a return to good IW
>>10519944Thin polyester, it's like they don't want to stay in business. I don't mind thick poly but I miss old IW
>>10520312Pretty sure it looks like chiffon rather than just low quality poly
>>10519944>Florals Fuck yes, rain it down on me IW. Still would have liked cotton, but every inch is an inch.
Another twitter preview: Lily of the valley lace OP. Pictured is the mint, but it also comes in pink, green and purple colourways. It’ll be introduced via an instalive on the 25th apparently.
why the fuck doesn't innocent world make things in sizes smaller than medium or large anymore? I'm petite and I love their clothes but I don't wanna pay for gigantic items to be tailored
>>10520373the chiffon is probably still synthetic so anon is technically correct.
>>10520312Old IW also used chiffon though. Poly has been used for a while and doesn't in itself automatically mean shitty quality. Tons of 1930s and 1940s dresses are rayon for instance but give the piece a beautiful shape and drape.
>>10520935Oh absolutely it will be polyester; I was just pointing out that it's "thin polyester" because it's chiffon rather than because it's poor quality (that being a main reason a lot of people avoid poly releases). Chiffon is almost exclusively synthetic these days because that way it's a lot more robust than when made with natural fibres (i.e. silk).
>>10520942nayrt- I agree that their older chiffon and other poly fabrics are excellent but the current poly they use is shitty, and cheap cotton > cheap polyester.
>>10520961Yeah no, hard agree with you on that. That being said the fabric at least looks better than their weird, awfully draping poly so here's to hoping!
>>10520942Yeah like I said, I'm fine with thick poly like they used to use. What I'm not fine with is flimsy super thin shit that snags on my rings and nails
>>10520933Fatties and also the "baggy" clothing trend that people are trying to claim the last decade.
These always remind me even when things go back to normal I'll never have a Victorian Maiden posse.
>>10521903A few of friends and I have a plan to do a small Rococo Bouquet meet once things get back to normal here. Between us, we have at least 1 of dress in every colourway except black.
>>10521903god i want majestic rose doll so bad>>10521930I have it in black! Although I doubt we are in the same comm ;_;
>>10520873This is mint? It looks like sax to me. Cute design, anyway!
>>10521947>>10521930Actually same. I have most of the colorways actually. I just can't literally can't find enough people interested in classic lolita around me, oh well.
>>10521973My comm has two and a half classic lolitas, but I have friends who are willing to be dressed up.
>>10522557NAYRT but the one other person actively into classic in my comm moved a while ago so it's been just me. Why does it feel as though there's so few classic lolitas compared to other substyles.
>>10522668Goths go through the same, mate
>>10522671True, gothic lolitas also have it rough. Maybe it's because they're more intentional about finding other gothic lolitas/they're more likely to be lolitas into more than one substyle but for some reason I've seen more western gothic lolitas together in photos than classic. It could be more of an internal bias, though.Partially related: what are people's thoughts on Alice and the Pirates? I feel as though some of their pieces are applicable to classic when styled correctly, but a lot of it gives the feel of "sweet prints and cuts but in brown".
>>10522557I have one other person I can twin with, but tbqh there aren't that many people either I would trust with my brand, on top of only being mildly interested in classic at most.If I got my online friends together on the other hand, we'd kill it. I'll probably bring a few pieces actually the next time I visit some of them so we can dress up.>>10522695Some of their pieces are classic, I would agree with that, but would also agree they lean sweet a lot. Like even their more gothic pieces are sweet but in black. I think too the general focus is on nonprint classic at the moment - I haven't seen any prints actually in this thread apart from florals and IW's new release which no one was interested in.
>>10522695I have some floral pieces like Time of the Roses that can give off a classic-ish feel when styled that way. I think that whole early 2010's era of AATP really lent itself to living in a weird inbetween space of sweet, gothic and classic.I agree with >>10522703 though, even most of their darker pieces are basically sweet with gothy or classic motifs than being actually gothic or classic.
IW is doing an Instagram live on their 2021 releases right now! Come and join if you're free!
>>10522978What are everyone’s thoughts? At least there’s one cotton release. At the end Fujiwara said that a lot of lolitas find cotton too thick and heavy but surely polyester is way more cloying? I’m glad she at least knows the cotton squad are big mad about it. I’m obsessed with Rose chan though! Not even a bag just a cutie
>>10523007I liked the Rococo Revival Doll OP, but I'm most excited for the pearl necklace they showed during the live. I thought the convertible bonnet was pretty genius.Rose-sama is so cute! I loved how they matched her roses to the ones they've been using on their headpieces.
>>10523019What makes it convertible?
>>10523019I HATE this. The bodice is too short and skirt too long. It's so close to being a nice dress. Saving money yet again
>>10523034The back of the full bonnet can be detached, turning it into a half bonnet.
>>10523040Agreed. I love the print but as soon as I saw it was this dress again I lost interest
>>10523007>>10523019>>10523050Not into stuffed bears, dress is too long, too babydoll, and not my taste, and not into bonnets.Guess I'm saving my money for another season... The cotton that Glitter Cat was printed on was nice, why can't we have that again?
>>10523126The bears were a surprise to me given that classic lolitas overall tend to prefer more mature looks.
>>10523127It wasn't too surprising to me, Fujiwara has a pretty big collection of Steiff bears if I remember right. She's had them in her videos, I think they even did a collab once?
I didn't see this mentioned anywhere yet, but it looks like they'll be releasing a leather shoe soon? From Fujiwara's twitter>"Ribbon Square Pointe Shoes">Off(white), pink, chocolate, black>Genuine leather that adult Lolita likes
>>10523142Yes, they were introduced in the live. They're made by a cobbler in Japan, come in 4 sizes (22.5, 23.5, 24, & 24.5), brown white & pink, and will be around ¥25,000. Please correct me if I have any of that wrong, it went by a little fast for me to catch it all. Misako said they're wide (ie comfortable) and would be good for a day at Disney.
>>10523145Thanks! I missed the live, do you know how high the heel was? Are they more flat on the teaparty or a decent few cm tall? Also if there's anything else revealed on the live that gulls can share, would be appreciated!
>>10523152Nayrt but the heels do not look very highhttps://twitter.com/fukasawamidori/status/1342466842799919112The live is up on IW's insta if you wanna watch it!
>>10523156Wow, they are totally swamped in those dresses... Even though I like the design I could never wear it at 153 cm.
>>10523156I liked the front of this dress in an rpg village kind of way, but the back is just too much
>>10523163They mentioned in the live that the bustle is removable. Personally, I think IW has gone too far with the long skirts.
JetJ has a new release called Les Couloirs du temps. Comes in pink and black for 53,000 yen. They also opened a taobao storefront. https://twitter.com/J_et_J/status/1342361156082520064
>>10523163>>10523164I agree, so I'm fine with it when the bustle is detached but the length is just.... it doesn't look good.
>>10523164That’s a relief. I agree on the long skirts. I’m very tall so they aren’t unwearable, but they don’t have a nice shape.
>>10523176Out of curiosity, where do the recent long dresses hit you at the hem? Like the 110-114 cm releases.
>>10523152It looked like only 1-2cm or so, similar to their frill scallop shoes
>>10523167I want to like this but the side trim looks like tripe and I can't get over it.
>>10523192Yeah, this was a way better idea in pink. Maybe they should have gone with sax instead of black for a second colorway, the spiral is too harsh on the black. At least it'd be less noticeable.
>>10523181So the longest OPs I have are 112cm (I’m 178cm tall) and wearing a petticoat the hem falls just below my knee. I always avoid the flared skirts like pic related though.
>>10522779>>10522703AYRT, this makes me feel a little more sane. I've been spending too much time in the instagram tags and so much AATP is deemed classic (I know, tag spam, but still). I feel as though border prints never really caught on in classic like they did in sweet (and gothic, to a far milder degree). Even IW prints can swing classic or sweet depending on styling, it's hard to have purely classic border prints (that aren't florals).>>10523145These look so cute, but I wish the pink shoe was less bold.
>>10523203I would say Grazia Crown (and probably most of their royal/crown prints in that vein like Crest Goblin) count as border prints that are primarily classic. Maybe even Palace Rose, I guess it depends on how wide of a print you'd still consider a border print.Very weird for current lolitas to think AATP is classic, though. Even their OTT "classic" stuff was very sweet (imo the majority of the "OTT classic" trend had actually been just sweet in jeweltones or with rococo themes, though).
>>1052314524 and 24.5 lol wtf why not just make typical L and then LL instead of the half cm difference.>>10523007The purple op is beautiful but like everything else it's 100++++ cm long. I hope that purple color way is used in more pieces in the future because it's absolutely gorgeous.
>>10523205OTT classic made me so frustrated for that exact reason. AATP gives me the "sweet but in jewel tones" vibe as well. Getting mad about substyle overlap is like splitting hairs, but it is disappointing when someone says they really like classic and then using something (imo) tacky as an example.(Not saying all of AATP is tacky, but I'm personally not a fan of the prints that are essentially "sweet but jewel toned/brown")
>>10523019I'm actually digging this even with the high waist. I love toile like fabrics and the fact this is a cotton is making my heart go doki doki>>10523222Yeah, I mean I don't mind if it's one print but it's another thing when someone goes "I love classic" but all they have is AATP, BTSSB, and AP. They're usually also the same people who point at IW and go "isn't this, like, not lolita?" Absolutely maddening.
>>10523198In all of these front button pieces there's weird gapping in the waist area. I'm not a fan. I think they're lacing the dresses too tightly or the construction is off. These are tiny girls and shouldn't be bursting the seams.
>>10523236Probably waist ties are tied too tight, or else the dress would be hanging off of them. With a princess seam cut like this, I imagine it's hard for it to be tailored nicely to the bodice while having such a huge amount of skirt weighing it down.
>>10523235Exactly! And usually there's a single, OTT MM release they point to that's on their "wishlist" but don't care enough to do the searching involved/won't fit into it even if they found it.Also all cotton releases should be encouraged.
the absolute best part of the livestream
>>10523266sorry Im too dumb to make gifs but I could watch her face slowly floating into frame all day
>>10523266>>10523270Only semi related but I loved how much fun they had during this stream. I'm glad they really enjoyed themselves too!
The pink isn't ugly right, someone tell me what's so ugly about it before I dump 50k on it, please.
>>10523296the ruffle looks like a seahorse imo
>>10523296That’s lovely! The ruffles are very on point for 18th century gowns. It’s just rather pricy, which is the main downside.
>>10523196It's a reboot of Angel Mignonne, so I'm guessing the sales of the black back then was enough to justify a re-release.>>10523296I thought Angel Mignonne was fugly when I saw it, but when I saw it in-person, I was floored. The stock photos did not do it justice. It's probably the same for this release.
>>10523283Meanwhile, Risa blank face Nakamura reeee
>>10523318who the fuck is Risa
>>10523328Based classic lolita anon
>>10523126Because glitter cat went on sale
>>10523206Because a lot of people are US size 7, which is 24cm. 23.5cm is too small for me but 24.5 slips off my feet
>>10523339I might be wrong, but didn't only the pink go to sale for all the cuts?
>>10523342It's been on lacemarket a lot, and doesn't sell. Gulls love to say the cotton dresses are superior, but when you look at actual sales, it's just us who think that.
>>10523608IW shouldn’t do cat prints desu. the cats are always kind of ugly
>>10523619That's on you. I love the cats on glitter cat. It's my most worn cat print
>>10523608A lot of recent floral or simple print cotton releases have done well, it’s just that their prints like the cat dress have been miss after miss lately. I love cats but that dress in particular had a lot of awkward elements. They haven’t released any solid cotton dresses lately though and I’d like to see one.
>>10523626I like it too. >>10523637It's not selling cuz the scalper is overpricing it.
>>10523639I don’t know about the current second hand market because I’m avoiding shopping sites at the moment, I just mean at the time of release it didn’t do as well as expected. But it still did better than pic related which I think they still have stock of years later. My point is that the print is usually the problem more than the cotton.
>>10523608You say that, but I haven't been able to find my preferred cut/colorway. Only, again, pink dresses that people got in last year's lucky packs (and that one navy set that's been listed forever for over $300 because it's a Chinese scalper, as >>10523639 says)
>>10523296I think it's absolutely beautiful but I don't like J et J cuts lately. Tired of the waist being too high and literally no way to alter it longer
>>10523019>tea lengthFUCK. If they would just go back to regular length I would 100% have bought both colorways. For Christ's sake I'm 5'1, this would go down to my ankles.
>>10523019i want to like this. i think the cut could be really cute on some body types, but i think where the bodice hits would be super unflattering for a lot of people>>10523608i sure as heck haven't seen the black colorway lately though i'm not specifically hunting for it.

>>10523929VM does wa? Not you too, we have enough lolita brands doing it, and most badly. That fabric is hideous and who thought black x brown made sense?
>>10523198they're hold hands. this is so pure
>>10523222>>10523235I’m still bitter about all the years my comm’s Secret Santa organiser matched me with “other classic lolitas” whose wardrobes were 100% AP and Baby border prints in jewel tones and brown.
>>10523929I love the kimono fabric dress with white. It’s exactly what I wished I had (and was thinking of making) for wa challenges and themes while fitting into my exclusively classic style.
>>10523929I'm new to classic- is VM making blouses out of polyester a common thing?
>>10524112Depends on the fabric. For example, they've made this blouse in poly chiffon before.
>>10524145vs the same blouse style (but high collar version) in cottonThey release it every so often as a staple piece, so they seem to change up the exact cut and fabric each time!
>>10523163>>10523156Misako is only ~5'1 right? I'm trying to figure out where this would hit on someone 5'7+the design is really nice
Baby does Elisabeth OP in full black for Grand Bazar, but it’s not velvet. Idk how I feel about it.
>>10524166We are fucked still. All the IW shit put out in recent years is stupid long.
>>10523929I like the concept but I kind of wish there was an option with beige (keeping in mind what >>10524062 said). I'll probably skip the OP but those blouses are to die for, I'm glad they're re-releasing them.
>>10524112Yes, it happens pretty often. VM tends to match the fabric of their releases to the season, so you'll see more polyester and literal upholstery fabric around this time and more lightweight, breathable materials around summer.
Weird seeing kurumi in sweet
Does anyone know what happened to this model? I hope she also didn't get marry and just retire
>>10525257Left one is so good
There is a chance that the broadcasting date might change, but currently the program that features a tea party hosted by Kurumi is planned to be broadcasted in 9th Jan.>https://twitter.com/krm0320/status/1346764489484423168
IW had a small Christmas tea party last year.>https://twitter.com/mintkismet/status/1343033050561540096
>>10530656Are these cookies? I'd be so sorry to eat them...
A 1.5m-tall lolita made this collage of her IW outfits from last year for people around her height to use as a reference when buying longer length IW.>https://twitter.com/kotoriy000/status/1343877290350923776
>>10530663I'm about the same height as her; honestly this isn't as bad as I was expecting. Only the green and gray OPs look a little too long, and that's probably just because I know from the other photos they're short boots and if the hem was just a tad higher you'd get to see the entire boot which I prefer.
>>10530660Well, you could always seal them with a glaze and make them into brooches instead...
>>10514636Every royal throughout all of time always ever, you're so totally right anon, loool, silly me.
>>10522557There's maybe 5 classic lolitas in my comm but there's only one other girl who actively keeps up with VM. Somehow we never buy the same releases. I chalked it up to us having different tastes, but it's getting a little uncanny.
Has anyone heard back from MM with regards to their order?
>>10530663These all look good except the Himari skirt, but I think IW skirts are generally unflattering regardless of size
>>10531050I agree, especially the sloped cut of the waistbands in a lot of their mid 2010's releases makes you look like you have a potbelly no matter what. I'm confused as to why the skirt sits like that because I don't think the Himari skirt actually has that cut.
>>10531412It doesn’t. Some of the problem with the Himari skirt, at least with the original, is the ridiculously strong elastic. Even being nearly a good 10cm under the alleged max waist for it it’s a struggle to zip it up, simply due to how strong that elastic is. It’s a gorgeous skirt in person, photos don’t do it justice. But it’s really not an easy one to get to sit well. It was a common issue around then with their skirts. I can’t say anything for their more recent skirts, including the Himari rerelease.
>>10531421ayrt- I have the too-strong elastic issue with some of my skirts as well, so that definitely explains it. I was a good 8 cm under the measurements for that chiffon flocky velvet print they released around that time (I forget the name) but it looked so terrible on me I resold it. Now that I think of it, it looked a little similar to this photo.
IW reservations are up, starting the 18th. The pastel colors of the Lily of the Valley dress are nice, time to jump through these hoops.
>>10537096the price for the shoes is fair given the quality, but I'd rather buy pleather taobao shoes and save the 24,800 for a dress
>>10537103Damn, just saw that price. Personally I don't like that box toe, and while I really want to encourage the leather shoes, for that price I can buy real leather shoes I like from somewhere else.
>>10537114Leather has always been expensive in Japan though.
>>10537103I think it will be more popular in Japan but here where in the US where cowhide is pretty plentiful I think I'll just stick to my comfy real leather shoes. It's tempting though, sometimes all brand everything just makes you look more put together.
>>10537117Oh I understand that, that's just reflective of how I don't see myself buying them. I still hope they do well so IW might consider different designs.
>>10537096I'm a dumbfuck, can someone link to the page with reservations? I can't find it.
>>10537131Usually they update the english webpage later anyway but for some reason they haven't updated the Japanese reservations page either, so you can only access the items from the front page>https://innocent-w.jp/onlineshop/index.html
>>10537114I was surprised to find I like the box toe. I like that it’s different from the standard lolita shoe, I get a bit of a more mature vibe from it. If they had given it a decent heel I might have ordered desu
>>10537096Item listings are up, lads. Most things have already sold out or are in low stock so if you were eyeing something, it's best to order quickly.https://innocent-w.jp/fs/innocentworld/c/reserve
>>10514703Since when does she dislike westerners specifically? I was always under the impression Fuji likes us, but maybe wouldn't like the Chinese. I know she said something in a tweet about too many new lolitas buying her sale stock lately, but I didn't think it was directed at westerners. Do you have a screencap or more details on what she said?
>>10538597>Message Tenshi about it Friday>Never got back to me>Dress sold outSon of a bitch.
>>10538597Oh wow. I knew the dress was popular but I'm still surprised that almost every colorway sold out. Too bad...
>>10538597So much for sweetfags proclaiming IW is one foot in the grave kek. I'm glad it sold out even if I wasn't a huge fan of the material for the dress. It's a nice design.
>>10537114Yea the rectangle toe box is not kawaii. Round is the way to go. They seem ok quality though as far as construction and they're made of leather. I would buy the equivalent with a round toe box.>>10537096I am so tempted to buy the lily of the valley dress, but goddamn it is long. I'm 5'8 but I think it would still go past knees.
>>10538846Here's hoping spring is kinder to the burgers, I just want to give IW my damn money.
>>10538663is this normal for her?
>>10538907I've ordered from her several times and get very fas confirmation responses, so this is new to me. But I've heard others on her say they're having trouble getting a response from her. Chances are she's swamped by the Sugery Carnival rampage, but I can't say for sure.
Any good off brand finds? (Please still in stock or I'll cry at another thing to search endlessly second hand)
>>10540205What sort of stuff are you looking for? Admittedly, ever since CC started selling general jfashion I've been not as invested in the western market for offbrand finds, plus I have been trying to cut down on buying first hand particularly outside of lolita. However, I broke down and bought some simpleretro blouses and they're pretty decent for classic lolita. I'd wait for sales though to get their stuff.
>>10540288thanks anon! I'm going to have a look at simpleretro.. seen them around, but good to hear they're actually good. But I guess in particular, I'd be interested in shoes, jewelry, and bags. I guess those things are better purchased outside of lolita anyways? Also hats. One can never have enough hats.
where do you gulls buy mature-looking classic lolita jewellery?
>>10540534I use a lot of vintage jewelry, it's pretty fun to look at thrift stores and antique shops for things that will work. 90% of the stuff you see won't, but the gems are worth it. Besides that I really enjoy peppermint fox pins for something cuter and I'm make my own jewelry if I need something specific.
>>10540548Wow I was going to type up the same answer, twin chan. Good to know there are others out there with excellent taste.
>>10540555It's what I love about classic, the coording options are endless.
Reservation are up! 31,800 yen for the dress. The jewelry is really cute for this release.
>>10541175*They are up, but start the 25th
>>10541175Finally, something I like! The earrings are very pretty, I'm thinking of grabbing them and maybe matching necklace in pink. Thank goodness the posts are titanium, I'm allergic to most cheap metals. The question is do I want to go to the trouble of an SS for it as a murrican... I really wish IW was able to use DHL or Yamato.
>>10541268I really need ems to come back to America, paying an SS more to pay for more expensive shipping is a pain in the ass.
>>10538911She posted yesterday she'll be out of town of the 25th to the 27th, so she's out anyway if you want to use her for this release.
