Some of this year's ACDC RAG design contest winners are really nice.
>>10447707There was another winner that was kinda cute but more rainbow decora than pastel.
>>10447706To those who own any of Nile Perch's polyester satin dresses, how did you get the creases in the fabric out? i bought a baby gift apron and after washing and steaming it I still can't really smooth the fabric. have any of you bought a similar item from them and successfully removed the wrinkles? i don't really want to take an iron to the fabric. i know this could technically go in the help thread but i figure it's easier to ask here where people are more likely to own the dresses
>>10447735this has less to do with the specific dress and more to do with you not knowing how to use an iron.
>>10447740I mean, I've used a cloth barrier between the fabric and the dress before without much luck, but the care label says to not use an iron at all and I'm paranoid of ruining it
>>10447735NTA but I had a similar dress before and I just sprayed water on it, put a tee above, and iron over that.
>>10447836Thanks for your response, I'll see about giving that a try
Fickle Wish is shutting down.
Spank! updated their website! About time.
>>10448746Considering Covid as well as how fuck all expensive their clothes are (which has also to do with rent in downtown LA too) this isn't surprising. Kinda sad, though, I always wanted to go even if it wasn't as cute as fairytale boutique. Doesn't help either that the owners are scam artists and the shop staff is made up of rape apologise egomaniacs kek
Suzuri has 1000yen off of shirts, a lot of fancy and yume artists have shops on their so maybe it's worth looking? They even added mint and lavender recently as base colorhttps://suzuri.jp/search?q=%E3%82%86%E3%82%81%E3%81%8B%E3%82%8F.
Not sure where to post this but I ordered a top from Dreamily and I'm super happy with it. The art is really cute and the material is nice quality. It's also super flattering. I'm posting the art because they didn't actually have a good picture of it on their site, but it's really cute so I'm glad I took a chance.
>>10449741You're complaining that Fickle Wish is full of rapist apologists when Fairytale Boutique stocked RPA? Fickle Wish's clothing isn't actually more expensive then buying it direct once you otherwise take into account the price of shipping EMS internationally. It kind of sounds like you don't know what you're talking about.
>>10450843What does RPA have to do with rape?
>>10450922NTA their print designer Tama is well-known for being a pedo since the livejournal days (basicly helped her husband to have sex with little girls), it even GLB distanced themself in their magazine at some point. Idk if that's what that anon is refering to.
>>10448746Why is there a gofundme to give each of the shop staff $5000? Aren't they all getting unemployment like everyone else? If not, looks like they didn't pay their taxes.
my honest opinion-- i'm sad to see a brick and mortar j-fashion business die, i really am. it's rare to be US based and see/touch/try on these clothes in person after only being able to see them on a screen. however, i felt their stock was really lackluster in variety and i wish they had the ability to stock styles that weren't for pop kei or VK style looks. i know they had Liz Lisa stuff and carried Milklim before it died, but it would have been nice to see more from them. i remember going into the store and being disappointed
>>10451166They get unemployment, but seems like the shop staff doesn't plan on trying to find new jobs during the pandemic as it's pretty much pointless with the current wave of unemplyment
>>10451182I feel the same way. I only visited them once, but the variety was bad and there was a lot more space that could have utilized.I won't say running a jfashion shop in the US is easy but all the failed shops seem to have been pretty lackluster. Fickle wish also had a website out of the early 00s and didn't really promote themselves online.
>>10451207Plus aren't the extra federal benefits ended now? So they may not get much or qualify depending on their state on a low wage retail job.
>>10451252they're being reduced to 200 a week
>>10451148See >>10451156. Yes, thank you other anon, I was pointing out the irony they'd call Fickle Wish 'rape apologists', but speak fondly of Fairytale Boutique which stocked RPA for exactly what you've mentioned.
>>10451267I actually didn't know about FTB doing that but fuck them too. Doesn't change my stance on Fickle Wish though.
>>10449741>>10450843what the fuck is this fickle wish rape apologist meme
>>10451207So... they are in the same boat as everyone else? Why exactly do they deserve $5000 each just for losing their job?Considering many of the shop staff have ebegged for frivolous things in the past, this is some shady shit.
>>10451341It's not like they force anyone to pay, in fact it was their dumb weeb fans that wanted to throw their money at them in the first place by suggesting a kickstarter.
>>10450797O this is super cute! How is the fit?
are the FW staff rape apologists? because if this has to do with RPA, afaik FW has never carried them, or any lolita brand.
>>10451897NTA but the RPA thing was regarding Fairytale Boutique, not FW, they did the same but with other artists.
>>10451384It's really loose, but it's still cute and flattering.
Magical is preparing a fake mask stock for Listen Flavor.
>>10452530Fake mask? What are they then?
>>10452570Fake as in they don't work, holographic fabric and all that.
>>10452633Or maybe they meant to type face ?
>>10452633you know that the holo fabric is super breathable and can easily be used as a layer over cotton.
Is there a list of taobao fk shops?
>>10458412https://fairy-tips.tumblr.com/taobao
Thought this might interest y'all anons- Candy Stripper is doing a collab with Hobonichi this year, so you can have a burando agenda cover to match your coords.
Do you live a fairy life?
>>10451156Do you have a source for this? I've been on LJ since way back and have never heard about it. Google doesn't bring up any articles either.
Where to sell Listen Flavor clothes? I have many that I don't want anymore but I can't seem to find anyone who's interested.
>>10461914Just look in some GLB magazines and her art, not like if she wouldn't draw nazi guro loli porn all the time while being bff with Trevor Brown.
>>10461918Try depop. I *might* be interested too.
>>10461918Agreed on trying depop, or maybe Kei Market. I would also potentially be interested.
>>10461968>>10462044Emailed you both.
made me think of this threadhttps://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a1z10.1-c.w137644-16895930042.45.498a34bcpV7Jsn&id=624124244224
Listen Flavor has a collab with Madoka.https://listenflavor.com/html/page280.html
>>10463328
>>10463328the pink one would have made a much better stock pic
>>10463331Looks like that crappy Ota-Q dress...no thanks
>>10463400...that's a tee, anon.
Nile Perch finally started stocking their winter goods a while ago, just a heads up.
>>10463493I know. But it reminds me of this hideous Ota-Q dress because it's a similar theme and similar color palettehttps://www.instagram.com/p/B7ol3D-Heh6/
Has anyone been successful in ordering internationally from Nile Perch? They say in multiple comments and descriptions they'll accept international orders, but they never reply to my emails or DMs and their site don't accept foreign cards.
>>10465942Maybe your email lands in their spam folder for some reason? But you are correct, international orders are done by email to "info@nile-jp.com".
>>10465970Guess I'll give it another shot from a different email.
I know this is kind of old news, but can anyone tell me specifically which artists stocked by Fickle Wish are predators? I follow quite a few Japanese/Japanese-inspired artists and I want to make sure I’m not supporting abusers.
imagine not getting your grammar checked by a native speaker before manufacturing lmao
>>10471724I'm sorry, what exactly is wrong here other than the random cringe "moon"? I'm assuming I'm not getting something from not knowing what the product is.
>>10473476because that isn't how you would say "goodnight moon" in Japanese. Right now it's just "goodnight. month." The Kanji for "moon" also means "month" and with no context it would be read as month
>>10473561this. usually when referring to the moon like that you add honorifics like otsuki or otsuki san/sama or something like that.
>>10473561>>10473572Ah thank you, I didn't realize that that was what they were going for.
>>10471724as if japanese brands don't constantly release things with butchered english names?
>>10473901While that's true, this release was supposed to cather to a japanese audience, making the release look half-assed.
>>10473901Yeah, and we make fun of them too, what's your point
Seems like we get a yumekawaii magazine, that is built similar to early Larme magazine, soon.https://twitter.com/YumekawaLady
Listen Flavor finally started stocking Magical via their online shop, but rn there's only face masks:https://listenflavor.com/shopbrand/ct149/
Can you order from Spank!'s online store with a tenso address?
>>10474622Yes.
>>10481479Thanks for your response, anon. I keep getting an error for whatever reason, maybe it's because of my card or something. Oh, well
>>10447706I used to love wearing fairy kei so much. It was my go-to fashion for 6 years, head to toe in pastels, a colorful petti, colorful hair clips, and fuzzy socks.I never worried when people thought it was weird or anyone judged me for it because it was what I loved and I felt great in it.But then I had a really bad incident where a couple people I know were telling me that it was not only weird but that I always look like an age-regressing kid or an adult baby. That wearing it was like having a swastika on my head and I shouldn't expect anyone to treat me well in it. All anyone sees me as is a freak and a person trying to look like a gross baby and a weird fetishist. Now for the past year I can't look in the mirror wearing fairy kei. I look at myself and I don't see that flowy fun pastel person that I love, all the things I used to see. I see someone in their mid twenties that looks like an adult baby. I see someone that looks like not just a weirdo, but a creep. I end up staring at myself for a while and crying and taking it all off.I have tried really hard to find a different pastel style I like but it is really hard and always falls so short of how I used to feel. Nothing feels quite the same no matter what I try and I always feel like I don't look like myself.Has anyone else had this happen to them? How can you get over a mental block in your brain like that?
>>10482194idk, but you can at the very least still enjoy the style in your own home with pastel roomwear and decor. i can see how other people shitting on it might make you uncomfortable wearing it around them, but you have no reason to be uncomfortable wearing in your own home. you know you're not doing it with any bad motives, so there's nothing to feel bad about when others aren't involved.
>>10482194imagine being this worried about other's opinions
>>10482194Would these people ever change themselves for you? No? Then fuck them. The fact that they actually think you deserve to be treated like a sub-human creep because of pink frilly clothes means that they shouldn't be in your life anyway. Why are you letting trolls get to you? Wear what you want and fuck them
>>10482194Did you ever get compliments wearing it? I question these people motives in telling you this.
>>10482194very juicy gull, thanks, I appreciate this high quality content, once that said >mid twentiesif you look like a qt young gull just go for it, you'll be 35 in 10 years, and then it's pretty much ogre
>>10482252saying what other people think doesn't matter is naive. how people percieve you can affect your job opportunities. if your boss hears gossip from a coworker that you posted a social media pic wearing a creepy 'baby outfit', that's going to shape how much they respect you and trust you to take on higher-profile responsibilities.
>>10482275At the same time tho, allowing other's comments to stop a harmless hobby that you enjoy is also going too far. Op isn't doing anything illegal, and even in that scenario, what Op does in her free time is her business.Unless she's a teacher*, her employment cant fire her for dressing like a weeb off company time, not without a lawsuit on their hands.*As someone who is becoming a teacher, one of the things our higher ups stressed is keeping a separate social media account. TLDR: Op needs better friends
>>10482294well in an at-will employment place they technically can fire her, but I'm sure they wouldn't. she just wouldn't be first in line for promotion if they believe she's a weirdo who does some kind of kink/cope behavior in public.
>>10482194They sound like bullies
>>10482194I've dealt with being on public transit with people who have very publicly and verbally disrespected me for being in pastel clothes (one man in particular said I looked like I "belonged in a weird porno" as I was boarding a train while wearing cult party kei... with a woman who I assume was his partner), but you just can't let people speak to you that way. Every time someone has tried to dish it out at me in public, I dish it back saying something like "your lack of social skills and awareness of how to talk to people is embarrassing, you're disgusting" and if it's someone who isn't visibly dealing with mental illness (i.e. they don't look like they're going to hurt me if I stand up for myself) they usually get embarrassed and apologize. Fuck what other people think; you're not hurting anyone by enjoying alt fashion, and the people who said that to you sound like bullies. As far as job opportunities go, if you're worried about it, do what I do and create a separate Instagram account that doesn't display your real name and post under a handle that way. Sorry you've had negative experiences with this fashion, though. I love it and while I've been harassed while wearing it and other jfashion sub styles, I love it too much for ugly meth heads on the train and some dumb normies who think H&M is as fun as fashion gets to hurt me when I'm wearing it
>>10482528this is also cringe. just don't respond to that shit.
>>10482528This x100
>>10482319Tru, but by then she'll probably find a better job offer somewhere else. Job loyalty doesn't exist anymore, on both sides of the coin
>>10482545Don't get me wrong, most of the time i just leave it be, but when it's an encounter in which someone won't leave me alone (i.e. being in the same train car as a person harassing me) I feel better sticking up tor myself that just sitting there and letting some idiot berate me
>>10482718nah man, even if you make them mad, responding implies a level of care about someone's opinion that i can't agree with.
I'm looking for coats like this. Can anyone give me some pointers? Also affordable legwarmers? Desperately trying to stock up on layers for the winter
>>10483308well that's a cape, for one so...
>>10482194Those just sound like bad people. Nobody is going to jump to that niche and highly suspect conclusion unless they themselves are a fucking creep.
>>10482720getting yelled at in public is pretty uncomfortable, anon. desu i wouldnt say anything if they look like a homeless crackhead because who knows what they might do but i think it's fine if you make a dumb normie shut up
>>10483323Aight well a cape or a coat that has similar characteristics. That better?
>>10483308You maybe should wait for DearMyLove's yearly Sanrio collab to come out, they always have that kinda stuff. Maxicimam would have some rn but they $$$.
Travas Tokyo has a collab with Care Bears atm.
Reminder that Swimmer is back, new Twitter account is https://twitter.com/SWIMMER_Prom/
might be too early but does anyone have any links to coats that would go well with fairy kei?? preferably pink
>>10489257Wait a little bit and Nile Perch will release some winter coats that work very well for fairy kei
>>10486566And they announced the start of international shipping today, nice.
Indie brands slowly start putting their luckypacks up, Cream Made already got theirs online:https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=628986397049
>>10483323>Need help finding a coat>Um actually sweaty that's a long cape with sleeves and buttonsOk?
>>10493148That's just gulls for ya
Looking up Mercari is probably a good option for coats, people always sell their old ones when new models come out.
>>10493112>https://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=628986397049Anon why would you do this to me, my wallet is already so empty
>>10488359And the onlinestore is up toohttps://item.rakuten.co.jp/pattys7/c/0000000424/
Reminder that dearmylove's yearly sanrio winter collab will release around the end of the month.
What do you wear in winter
>>10498840Same as usual but with more layers.
NP keeps hurting my wallet.
>>10498840I wear thermal/fleece tights under my printed tights and layer up on sweaters and other outwear. Frilly turtlenecks under sweaters is a cute look too. Embrace the layering everywhere
WC has nice pastel plush jackets atm.
>>10447706
>>10510794This is lolita, not fairy kei
>>10510825Nile Perch puts these out on a regular basis and ain't nobody gonna call them a lolita brand. Headdresses aren't exclusive to lolita.
Anyone else ordered the NP lucky packs?
idk if anyone needs a winter hat but I randomly found this one, maybe some people here like ithttps://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=629939017596
>>10511529I didn't know when they were going up crud. Did you get one anon?
idk if people know that shop already but it does nice remade stuff for decent priceshttps://www.mercari.com/jp/u/943336825/
>>10511802Yes, was easy as they were reservation preorders anyways.
>>10513086Uramo is pretty well known.
>>10511790Thats super cute
Sanrio and Yurie Sekiya have a collab going on.
>>10513519This is everything I’ve ever wanted in life
>>10513519little twin stars always get the cutest merch despite being one of the worst mascots. they look like those creepy little Bible children illustrations
WC's pastel plush jacket are on salehttps://wegoec.jp/shop/g/gWC20WN10-L50040820201/
>>10513662It's probably because they are the second oldest characters after Hello Kitty.
>>10525560So cute
Show me some winter coords
>>10527658
>>10529144she’s beautiful!! i love this girl’s outfits so much!
Can someone post some pajama looking coords? I love when Yume Kawaii goes the more sleepy route!
I miss when LF still sold pastels.
acdc re-released that contest winner as hoodie jacket
>>10537712Same. They were one of my favorite brands and while I don't hate them I do miss their old stuff . WC is also less cutesy nowadays which is sad
Is it appropriate to post menhera/discuss menhera fashion here or should that be its own thread? I haven't seen a menhera thread in a while and not sure if people just lost interest
>>10539238It always ends in people shitposting which is why it stopped, also the majority isn't pastel so it would be off here.
>>10539238if you don't want to start a whole new thread for it, you can post in the Other Jfash General:>>10531997A lot of people have sand up their vag about menhera though, so prepare for a rough landing.
