Why do most black cosplayers do the same low effort thotty shots and then get mad they don't get attention? Slutty bikini shots are a dime a dozen so no duh talented people in armor get more followers.

It's not that it's black women specifically, it's female cosplayers in general. Popular cosplays are skimpy cosplays because men are horndogs and you're going to see them more than the non lewd ones. Several posts here are most likely made by someone with a fetish.

>>

True but black cosplayers get the built in racist excuse when called on their low effort shit. I remember one who all but used bedsheets for her crappy takes and no one could say she looked bad cause it was "You're just racist against a fat black cosplayer." She even got a few 'cosplay articles' written about her so called struggle.
>>
>>10449044

Female cosplayers that aren't black would still use the fat or sexism excuse. Dudes who aren't popular would blame the thots. People who are thots blame men for not being sex positive, people who cover up blame the men for only wanting to see skin. There is no end to people finding a reason to explain away how unpopular they are.

People thirsty for efame and insecure with themselves will use any excuse or find anyone to blame that may help them feel better about the fact that they are irrelevant.

Everyone does that shit, not just black people. You just want to complain about them in particular or maybe just don't realize how desperate for attention most people posting their cosplays online clearly are.
>>
>>10449061
they're talking about when fans use that excuse, not the cosplayers themselves.

This is the truth and people refuse to see it. That and some men and women are just assholes
>>
>>10449157

Ayrt and yeah, it's the same shit, everyone just has a different angle for their excuse or aggression/blame, whether it's the fan or the cosplayer.

Some people are incapable of accepting or lifting themselves/the people they like up without trying to put down others in the process and this just bleeds into any niche community.

It means you aren't white (or at least not 100% white) but you could pass as being white. Hence, white-passing.
>>
>>10450050
when people think you are white unless you tell them otherwise. deltoro here for example is not white, but anyone who looks at him would think he is.
>>
>>10450051
Wouldn't it be better to cosplay a black superhero then, rather than a slutty white one?
>>
>>10450061
I love it when a cosplayer completely gives off that Jojo vibe despite not having the build. It's like an alternate character design.
>>
>>10450114
It would be, but chances are she probably doesn't know any. To be honest, I don't know any either but I'm not into cape comics. Just a weeb and there are plenty of options for black cosplayers, thot or not in anime and manga compared to like, popular western cartoon/comic media.
>>10450050
>>10450089
There were actually some white passing black people in the past that protected themselves by calling themselves white.
>>
>>10450152
Storm and Valkyrie come to mind immediately. Both from huge, popular movie franchises.

Oh right, Storm. When I look up Valkyrie, it looks like she was a white woman first and recently was made black in 2018 which is a trend I'm seeing and not particularly fond of. Are those really the only ones? Bumblebee is another one I just remembered. Other than Storm, these don't seem to be very well known popular characters aside from the new rendition of Valkyrie.

White passing doesn't mean white, and she's clearly POC
>>

I don't think you know what white passing means. see >>10450089
>>
>>10450173
I know exactly what white passing means and she isn't it. Her skin color is obviously not that of a white person.
>>
>>10450163
Yeah there's not a lot. Nonwhite superheroes of either gender are rare. I can't think of a single Hispanic superhero and only 2 Asian ones. It's kinda sad. Why does the race swapping bother you? It's usually done with minor side characters so no one minds much.

Race swapping bothers me because it feels like a pity move. I understand why they do it, but I'd rather a new character be made than piggybacking off the existing IP of another character. I know original characters exist, but they don't get as much advertising or rarely written as well. Usually written in a way that says "HEY LOOK THIS CHARACTER IS BLACK, BLACK HEROS MATTER EVERYONE, LOOK HOW WOKE I AM." instead of just writing a cool/fun hero that happens to also be black. Also give me more black magical girls or black girls in frilly, cute outfits and not just skin tight titty costumes.

>People thirsty for efame and insecure with themselves will use any excuse or find anyone to blame that may help them feel better about the fact that they are irrelevant.

God this, so much. It’s unfortunate because there are prejudices in every community that are worth talking about, but they are constantly coopted by insecure assholes who want asspats.
>>
>>10450114
Sometimes people just like slutty white characters. I genuinely like power girl but I know I would be called an ethot if I ever tried, so I just admire people who go for it from afar.
>>
>>10450441
>people cosplay to please my dick and my autism and not because they just like a character or it’s design
Ftfy
>>
>>10450061
Saw this person at acen and desu I think they were the best bruno I saw all weekend.

I hate shit like >>10450441 because I would rather see people try to make good cosplays for characters they love than see assholes in half assed cosplays ride on the fact that they look like a certain character.

Cosplay is about making good costumes and nerding out about things, not casting the next marvel movie.
>>
>>10454348
>>10454340
And that's fine. The question was why does race swaping bother me. This is in regards to the companies race swapping the characters for woke points, not cosplayers wearing cosplays of different races. I'd rather these companies, creators, etc. create a new character than race swap existing ones. Who the fan cosplays is fine and up to them.
>>
>>10454348
Damn. That’s hella fresh.
>>
>>10450113

White (Latino or Arab) is literally a box on every survey since the beginning of time.
>>
>>10456295
No. There's "white (not hispanic or latino)" and then there's a "hispanic or latino" box to check. White = European. And who tf would consider Arabs white??
