Since the last thread died, and the stupid jfashion question is not always the best place, let's do it again !link to the old thread : https://warosu.org/cgl/thread/S10308151#p10339388unanswered from last thread : >>10349177 >>10328727 >>10328446 >>10322355 >>10319329 >>10308745sorry if I didn't find all of them. The picture is from the 46th edition of Fruits magazine
>>10366540god my mistake, I will repost the unanswered question here since the thread obviously got deleted : >I don't know if there was any lolita involved, but I think it was possibly alice in wonderland inspired and I thought maybe you weebs might recall it. Memory is vague, but I remember an animated music video for some Japanese chamber pop-esque song where there was a scene with a girl standing on the hands of a clock, or something similar. I think there were plucked string instruments in the song. I tried searching all kinds of keywords and couldn't find the song. I found it sometime in 2003-2005.>Anyone remember that lolita beginner tutorial parody on youtube from like 2014 or something? Think it was a girl called Neko Pocky Desu and wearing a replica of Milky Chan the Fawn. I can't find it>This reminded me, did anyone else join Mana’s social network back in the 2000s? I can’t remember what it was called, let alone my log in details, but I’m curious about it>Anybody archived good secrets from back then? I remember saving like four before tinypic shut down>There was a video on YT about 30 minutes long that was a Japanese tv report on Lolita fashion. It was around Christmas. First, they went to AP when it was lucky pack seasons and asked some people there what they got, then, they asked people in the street why they wear Lolita fashion, etc... then they went to an AP tea party. There was also Cathy cat at some point I believe. The video got removed from YouTube and I’m wondering if anyone saved it. Thank you!>bump anyone has that japanese interview about the daily lolita who always carried a plushie around to "feel less alone" since she switched town?
Since I have seen a few threads about dead brand/less famous brand,I wanted to start this thread on a dead jfashion brand I did reaserch on but sadly didn't found a lot of things on,even in japanese. The Brand is DARIO and it's the one behind this infamous shirt. The designer is Dario Hsieh, he is a taiwanese fashion designer and his brand was under the H.P France fashion conglomerate. (1/9)
>>10366543The brand was sold at WALL in laforet, the dress where priced around 40000 yens and they mostly sold shirt, hoodies, skirt, dress, short, coats, pantyhose and I also found a pair of shoes.(2/9)
>>10366544The first collection I found is from 2014, it was the spring summer collection, it's the one where the first pic is from, the theme was based on " Annie in darkness " who is a rich orphan full of hate ( a key character seem to be Amanda, the blond girl you can find on multiple items ). (3/9)
>>10366545Another collection I found is named " Strange Love " and seem to be a winter collection, it's yami kawaii with interesting pockets placements. (4/9)
>>10366546 The most recent items I found was from 2016, the only information I found where in old archived threads, blog post about event for the new collections and pictures on second hand websites. All social media and it's page on H.P France where deleted.I remember seeing the pictures years ago on cgl and someone was saying the shirts with the offensive texts where translation of hatefull messages send to peoples on the internet but I don't know if people where making it up or if it was my terrible english comprehension ( as you can see my writting is not much better).links to articles I found : https://www.style-arena.jp/en/shops/747http://www.japanesestreets.com/reports/2896/dariohttps://tokyo-fashion.tumblr.com/post/80882068387/dont-screw-with-me-dress-by-dario-via-hphttps://tokyo-fashion.tumblr.com/tagged/Dariohttps://the-styleinsight.com/post/81504428286/dario-taiwan-designers-2014-ss-collection-party https://www.beautynewstokyo.jp/%E5%8F%B0%E6%B9%BE%E7%99%BA%E3%80%90dario%E3%80%912014%E6%98%A5%E5%A4%8F%E3%82%B3%E3%83%AC%E3%82%AF%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3%E2%98%86/(5/9)
>>10366550I have a few more pictures if someone is interested (9/9)
>>10366547yeah sounds like they’re gone. Since this brand isn’t lolita and are well known for their meme dresses you could probably take this to /fa/ if you want more info. they’re way more active than cgl.
>>10366584how fucking new are you?
>>10366549I'm really digging those, thanks for posting this anon
>>10366598I'm happy that someone like it too ! I also found this pair but I like the angel one better.>>10366584I understand why you would suggest it, but I doubt /fa/ is the good board, since I've seen the meme dresses appear much more on this board than any other, and /fa/ is too quick of a board with a lot of threads.
>>10366540What's the deal with all the fake replies in the OP?Why put those in?
>>10366673R u dumb
did the designers from putumayo went anywhere after it closed down?
>>10366785He's working for Nude SOX.
>>10366804Also his IG: https://www.instagram.com/sillyhypothesis/
not sure if this belongs here but i'm not sure where else to post about it. i am so obsessed with old scans of FRUiTS magazine. there is something so raw and cool and creative about these outfits.
>>10367028some more that i particularly enjoyed
>>10366805thanks anon, i met him years ago at a teaparty and he called my long legs sexy haha it was odd.
>>10367028>>10367031( pic related is some proto-lolita )I love it too ! There is something so special about those turn of the millennia coords. I kind of want to see how the closet of those peoples looked like, to understand how they would build they coords. there is an interesting article by the editor of fruits about this era : https://i-d.vice.com/en_uk/article/xwdzy7/the-editor-of-fruits-magazine-on-the-rise-and-fall-of-harajuku ( it's probably where you got the first pics but in case someone else want to read it )
>>10366584>implying /fa/ is more well versed in minor Japanese brands then /cgl/
>>10367144>>10367028I also love this! Is anyone aware of any lolitas who currently dress like this?
>>10367791Only one I can think of off the top of my head is Ferro, but I'm sure there are others.
>>10366540bumping because I want to learn about more dead brands
>>10368588your post made me wonder if it would be interesting for some to learn about maybe the past of some major brand ? I was thinking about the brand pretty which was the old name of Angelic pretty and maybe the start of milk ( even if it's not that famous anymore). I will probably have time to do it next week or a bit later.
>>10368851Not like AP's past was too interesting.
>>10366543>You are adoptedDamn, what an insult
>>10366542Answer to the first one, I believe you are looking for the artist Kanon Wakeshima
Posting some Fruits scans.
>>10371936Thank you for this dump! it's so good
>>10371936the dump was so great ! Thank you anonAll the download link I had for egg magazine are dead now, If anybody have a link to full magazine scan i would love it ( especially the special manba editon in pic related )
Does anyone know when the brand Love Rabby shifted from teen/junior size fashion to children's only sizes? I used to think the brand had gone out of business but it's still around, they just now make only little kid's clothes. I used to have a ton of pieces from 2002-2005 or so due to my PGSM obsession but they got damaged in a flood years ago.
>>10366543This design is on mercari right now for 1000 yen, as a blue croptop.
Does anyone remember a picture of either Maki or Asuka from back in the day, that was posted to LiveJournal with the caption "She's hard at work designing a new print for us!" I believe it showed her sitting on the floor of the studio sketching out some type of design.
>>10371926how to do hair like this
>>10381157On its own it’s the same idea as a space bun but you let the middle go up to make the horn instead or trying to make it a ball Realistically that’s a wig and she used a wire to shape it. You could make a wire headband into a horn shape and wrap your hair around it.
>>10380821Thank you, it got sold out before I had time to get it sadly
>>10381248Sorry anon, it was me. If it doesn't end up working out for me, leave your email and I'll get in touch....in four months or whenever Japan can mail shit again.
>>10381255my email is cottonsatingingham @gmail.com, idk how I can pay you since I don't use paypal ( I can maybe buy you something like on amazon whishlist or something else ). I'm happy to see that someone like those dumb shirt too
>>10381271If it's any consolation, similar stuff from that designer is on secondhand sites too - I also bought one of the noob dresses but there's multiple ones for sale! Let's match!
>>10381503I saw some on mercari, I will have to find something that cool and fit me ( the angels shorts are super cool but I 100% would never be able to wear it )
I remember Nana Kitade was a favourite singer amongst lolitas back in the day.Though there was a all female band that wore lolita in one video, I think it had love in the title. I know the video was posted to egl but I can’t remember it.
>>10380430I don't have an answer but I remember obsessively looking for this brand because of pgsm too.
I didn't find Information in english about it, so I was wondering if anybody know how the early style of circle lens looked like ? I assume it was the thick black fading limbal ring but it maybe untrue.
>>10390237like how early? regular color contacts have existed since the 80s. circle lenses probably started out like big color contacts.
>>10390272I was thinking east asian style circle lens ( wikipedia say it begin around 2004 ). For some reason it seem difficult to find pictures of older color lenses
>>10390344circle lenses are the large ones specifically, anon. my point was color contacts existed before circle lenses with a more unnatural style, so if eye size enhancing lenses existed a long time ago they were probably the same idea but just normal looking.
>>10390349Found this the glb make up edition from 2004 have used colour contacts on the cover. Obviously there is possible early examples but I got this from a google sreach.
>>10394522>>10390349Thank you for the pic ! sorry for the late reply. I figured out that it was probably possible to find picture on fashion magazine but I only have newer gyaru mag so I maybe didn't had the best examples. It's funny to see it didn't had a big diameter but it's more opaque than the circle lens in fashion right now but still have a limbal ring.
>>10366545This Looks kinda like it was designed by someone with schizophrenia in a good way
>>10390344I think circle lenses specifically started around 2008? I've been following Japanese fashion since 2003, and I believe 2008 was the first year I saw them popping up. Could be a little earlier though, but I can't remember seeing them in the first half of the 00s at least.
>>10395419i have some popteen from 2007 i can look at.
>>10383174you are right. she even did a collab with baby, which I'm sure you know about.
>>10383174Was it Doll$Boxx by any chance?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu2z4Uf9TgcThe coords aren't great on everyone but the blonde's (Fuki) coord is super cute.
I need help tracking down any issues or further info on the publication "parfait" info is sparse but here's what i've managed to gather so far:>ran from 1999-2003>5 issues on paper and 2 cd roms, which appear to be compilations of prior issues and contain bonus features of sorts>all info i've been able to find so far is from the archived website of defunct indie brand "baby secret love" who seem to have been featured prominently in the magazine?no signs of any second-hand copies on any online marketplaces i've checked. it will probably be hard to track down anyway because it seems to have been a very small indie publication and probably not many copies exist. i doubt anyone here owns a copy but if you do i'd love to at least see some pics.website archive:>https://web.archive.org/web/20050329033657/http://home.att.ne.jp/blue/DGT-Follower/Parfait.html
I'm not sure whether this is strictly the right place to ask, but my question was brought on by rewatching Kamikaze Girls and I figure if anyone knows, it'll probably be someone here.Anna Tsuchiya's Wikipedia page, it mentions her friendship with a model called Yoshika Yuhnagi, who also has a Wikipedia page and allegedly died tragically in 2001. Apparently at one point they ran naked through the street of Omiya in 2000 (but I can't find any record of this on Japanese news websites).I thought this sounded kind of interesting so I tried searching for more information on this in both English and Japanese, but I'm getting absolutely nothing. None of the sources on either Anna or Yoshika's pages are in any way searchable (unless anyone happens to have the May 2005 issue of Bubka, which I highly doubt) and the ISBN code for one of the cited books doesn't seem to be valid. Also, Yoshika's page doesn't seem to have a Japanese translation, which seems suspicious to me if she really was a popular model. I also can't find any photos of her - all the google image results turned out to be different people on closer inspection. Which, again, is super weird if she was a model, right?Does this person even exist? Has someone put a weird amount of effort into writing Anna Tsuchiya fanfiction or is it just that all the sources for this have dried up?
Is there picture of early ( as in late 90's early 2000 ) handmade or upcycled lolita ? I was wondering if it's wrote on street snaps listing.
>>10395708besides the red dress, all the dresses/costumes are from bodyline
>>10395708Sorry for the delay in replying. That wasn’t the band but thanks for sharing I love the song. With help of a friend I finally found it. It was Love Message by The Possible. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x48s71Though I can’t find the full mv of the song other than the dance video. There is a mix of different brands being worn and a mini crown hat which I love.
>>10403353Is this the full MV, anon?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79ScStvbzM0
>>10397407So I looked up the ISBN for the first book, which was written incorrectly. It leads to a book named 『日本タレント名鑑2002』published by VIPタイムズ社. It is a directory for talents in Japan, illustrated and sorted by year. I dug a bit deeper and stumbled on this page in Japanese (seems like a blog site), which mentions the Omiya incident but cites that their whereabouts are unknown. https://d.hatena.ne.jp/keyword/夕凪よしかWild trip this one. I'm inclined to believe this is an elaborate fake though.
>>10403364Yes it is, thank you for being so awesome star
A few weeks ago, I stubbled upon old tv reality/ ""look a that freak"" style videos about individual wearing jfashion in my country. Even if it's not lost media, I guess it could be interesting for some to watch, and I wonder if some have similar videos comming from their country :a 20 yo girl named Sarah wear lolita and live in the north of France, 2011. She still wear lolita to this day. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayoRpheqjMI Marichou, 18 yo, from north France, wear sweet lolita since 2 years, her step father is very ashamed of it and try not to be seen in public with her, the two will then meet another father who's daughter is wearing lolita and have a chat at a café. 2015 but I think it's olderThe video also show another story not related to j-fashion, so skip beetween 2:20 to 4:38, 11: 19 to 19:18, 24:39 to 30:42, 38:00 to 45:15, 48:58to 52:52, and it end at 58:25Princess pudding, live in a small village in north of France, her parents are tattoo artists and she wear full on pink cyber/ harajuku OTT outfit everyday. 2010. Now princess pudding wear slight alternative fashion, blacked out her colorfull tattoos and do boudoir photoshoot s on her instagram.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3lcrDLqjWM part 1https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FYk4ITGRgTo part 2Nafrayou, 23 yo, wear colorfull cyber harajuku fashion, a bit gyaru-y by time. She is a great friend of Princess Pudding, live in Marsillia, south of France and want to be a mannequin as well as start her deco brand. 2010.Now Nafrayou is a great alternative mannequin, her instagram have the same name handle.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JZrDJy5mD8(1/2)
This one is a mix of a lot of style, some non j fashion like baby rockers, bimbos, ""rap"" and j fashions like lolita, and colorfull cyber punk. 2012.lolita at 14:56 to 18:32cyber at 25:00 to the endhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGw6ZBirhsg&pbjreload=10 part 1cyber at 00:00 to 02:05, at 22:46 to 25:59lolita at 11:10 to 17:12https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzuMpvl6M9Mpart 2lolita at 6:05 to 12:50cyber at 19:46 to 25:19https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjhNukTkT_Q part3ironically the ""rap"" part was the most wholesome.bonus : this weird clip about dance featuring lolitas from the french community: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPmYfwgNLJgthis hilarious one about a mom who hate that her 17 yo girl wear "goth". The title is litteraly " My daughter scare me (gothic, satanism)" and it's full of fake deep dark stuff, like the girl putting essential oil on her pillow to help her sleep. (2/2)
