Summer gives its last warm breaths before dissipating for good..Previous thread: >>3939956
This must be one of my favorite fanarts.
>And so I hear about a man who jumped from a great height with a parachute and came safely down to earth. This delights me, and I badger my sisters for an exact description of the man and the parachute. Mother sews me a little model, I attach a stone to it and am proud when stone and parachute slowly drift to the ground. I think to myself that what a stone can do I must be able to do too, and when I am left alone for a couple of hours the following Sunday I lose no time in exploiting my new discovery.
>>3956009Upstairs to the first floor! I climb on to the windowsill with an umbrella, open it up, take a quick look down, and before I have time to be afraid I jump. I land on a soft flower-bed and am surprised to find that I have twisted every muscle and actually broken a leg. In the tricky way in which umbrellas are apt to behave, the thing has turned inside out and hardly broke my fall. But nevertheless I abide by my resolve: I will be an airman.
You know, I'm starting to like Rudel.More Rudel stories, please.
I don't have enough Rudel pictures to tell all his incredible stories, here is one about fishing:>At the moment we are having a muddy spell and consequent difficulties in getting up supplies, even our rations. When flying low over the Dnieper I have often seen both our own and the Russian ground troops tossing hand-grenades into the water and by this means catching fish. We are at war, the Dnieper is a battle zone, and every possibility of feeding the troops must be exploited. So one day I decide to try my luck with a little hundred pound bomb.>After waiting until I have identified our chaps I drop my missile from between sixty and ninety feet. It falls into the river very near to the bank and explodes after a short delay.>From above I can see the white bellies of the dead fish floating on the surface.>Among the catch are some monster specimens weighing 60 to 80 pounds; mostly sturgeon and a kind of river carp.>A couple of weeks later a fresh fishing operation is carried out with equal success.
It's the end of summer and here I wonder if our sleeping drawfag would draw new summerish Miyafuji picture before it's over.. It's been a while since last art piece!..This one's among my favorite fanarts ever and second best delivery ever.>>3957734That's from a book right? Did they really localize units into feets and pounds in it, just curious. Funny story otherwise.
Don't die on me
>>3958618It's been a while since I last drew in general, but I'll try and scrounge up some motivation.
>>3958618I think I've hear Krupinski use feets and miles in a interview too, but I'm not so sure if they really used those units, for example Rudel mostly talks about feet and miles too but there's an exception:>There is no island in this ocean of plain for hundreds of kilometres until the fair-sized town of Elistra. The front curves East past Elistra.
Tell me anon, why is Lynne so cute?
>>3961565Beautiful blue eyes and dark blonde hair. Demure and gentle hearted but carries a big stickMotherly and caring loves to cook for othersSelf insecurities mean that despite her strength she still needs love and care. Very moe you want to protect that smile. absolutely perfect venusian proportions very much the embodiment of felinity, Looks so soft. but has the heart of a warrior. Flies a spitfire. Absolute perfection.
>>3957598Bit of a delay, but all is well now.
>>3961976I also really like her warm cuddly looking sweater, really pretty hair in that really pretty braid, lovely eyebrows, and cute smiling face.
I forgot Miyafuyi and Sanya's birthday
Happy birthday to everyone's favorite qt ghost, Sanya! The only 501st witch to be based on a girl.Lydia Litvyak (12 victories, 66 missions) was among the best female pilots of the war. She was shot down over Kursk in early August 1943. She died charging into a swarm of JG-52 aircraft. It is known that Rudel, Hartmann, and Barkhorn fought in the same battle, but they did not fight in the same airspace as Litvyak.Litvyak was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, the USSR's highest military honor.
>>3964141Hartmann had this to say in an interview >It should be said that the Soviets knew who we were by name. We knew a lot of their pilots, too. I knew of Kozhedub, Pokryshkin, Morosov, Litvyak, and the like. I think Barkhorn and I were in the fight near Kursk where Litvyak was killed. The date seems correct, as does the location.
>>3961976>>3962663Seems like we have the same reasons then. I bet Lynne feels really soft and smells nice as well and cuddling her feels like heaven>>3964141Happy Birthday Sanya!
>>3964660Shizuka is such a cutie.
>>3967433I love when these two get screentime together.
I don't understand the Shirley and Gertrude pairing. Is it just like a crackship that somehow got popular? Well I don't understand shipping to begin with.
>>3968642Lesbian love is all about constant fighting and hate sex. Don't let them tell you otherwise.
>>3968643But neither are gay. In fact, I'd say they are some of the least gay leaning witches around.
>>3968658that's what makes it even more funny
>>3968658All witches are very gay, even if they're not.
>>3968688exactly, they don't really have a choice
>>3968754How can one witch be this cute?
>>3968756It's a miracle

>>3969245Not surprising, there's been zero news since the teaser ages ago and with SHAFT dedicating most of their resources to Madoka right now there wasn't going to be much room to still do it in Fall.
>>3969245Can't say I wasn't expecting it.
>>3969433Hug the Krupi
Krupi's story>MH: You also flew with Erich Hartmann, who would become the greatest ace of all time with 352 victories. You had a special association with him, didn’t you?>Krupinski: I had just become commanding officer of 7th Staffel of JG52 when in March 1943 I first met Erich Hartmann. He was a child! So young, and that was when I gave him the nickname of ‘Bubi,’ or boy, and it stuck with him for the rest of his life. He remembered me from about six months earlier when I had a memorable crash landing in a burning Me-109 at Maikop. I was shot all up after a sortie against the Soviets, and I was blinded by smoke and slightly wounded. Well, I came in to land and slammed into a pile of bombs that had been placed at the edge of this field, and I scraped right through all of it. [Raymond] Toliver and [Trevor] Constable wrote about it in Erich’s biography, The Blond Knight of Germany.
>>3969451Hartmann's story:Q: You flew with Krupinski as his wingman often. What was that like, and how different was it from flying with Rossmann?A: Well, the partnership was a little uneasy at first, but we found that we worked well together. We both had strengths and weaknesses and managed to overcome these problems. It worked out well. Besides, I had to make sure that he came home due to his many girlfriends always waiting on him to come down. I won the Iron Cross 2nd Class while flying with "Krupi." The one thing I learned from him was that the worst thing to do was to lose a wingman. Kills were less important than survival. Q: Tell about your first meeting with Krupinski. I have heard Krupi's version, but I would like your version.A: I was being addressed by Hrabak when a fighter came in smoking, and suddenly landed, flipped over and exploded. We were sure the pilot was dead. One of the men said that ‘it is Krupinski’, and out of the blinding smoke this man walked out of the wreckage with a burned uniform, but no other damage. He was smiling and complained about the flak over the Caucasus, but without any real surprise on his face. This was my first meeting with “The Count.”
>>3969449I don't think Eila is receptive to the idea
I want an Eila/Perrine episode. Eila's playful nature contrasted with the tsun-tsun megane would be cute.
>She doesn't wear her hair down on her dakimakura cover
>>3970864She looks so much prettier with her hair down.
>>3970932and she's super pretty as is, so that's saying something
>>3962254>pic related>>3968642probably started with crack shipping in the first season, but the potato episode in season 2 made it semi-official
>>3958618My apologizes, it looks like Rudel's biography was later edited by americans and published as cold war propaganda.Rudel meets Barkhorn:>For a short period comrades of the 52nd fighter wing are stationed with us on our airfield. Their C.O. is Squadron Leader Barkhorn who knows his job from A to Z. They often escort us on our sorties and we give them plenty of trouble, for the new Yak 3 which has made its appearance on the other side puts up a show every now and then. A group advanced base is operating from Jassy, from where it is easier to patrol the air space above the front.
>>3971130Very important lessons.
>>3971081Hartmann has a short discussion of his meeting with Rudel. It was at Kursk, so the same event Rudel recounts. >This was on August 20, 1943. Our orders were to support Rudel's Stukas in a counterattack. Rudel is a man I respect, but he was, to be polite, just insane. He was perhaps the bravest man I ever knew, but then again you have to use common sense in combat, at some point. He was probably the luckiest man who ever lived. I just think that he did not care about his own safety.
>>3971379Very lucky indeed, considering how he crashlanded 30 times and even flew while injured I would say he was luckier than Krupinski
Schnaufer and Hartmann were awarded the Diamonds in the same ceremony in July 1944. There's a famous photo of them standing next to each other. I wonder if they knew at the time that they were the top night ace and top day ace respectively, and whether they had a good time together.I can't find anything in Hartmann's interviews where he mentions Schnaufer.
Looks like whatever Trude and Johanna were doing until just now wasn't entirely consensual
>>3974065It was probably some sort of contest.
Hartmann and Shirley were good together in the parody anime. Hope we see more of that.
>>3974180It fleshed out their relationship in a good way. I don't remember them ever really interacting in the series proper.
>>3971139extremely so. Also its funny that Krapunski is depicted as a sub with Rossman given her behavior with other people.
>>3975230Can't top kitsune-onna-sensei, that's just common sense.
Hello, this is probably too early but I was wondering if you guys would be interested in having our own Secret Santa card exchange on Helma. I was wondering because I know a couple of us have participated in /a/'s Secret Santa and posted cards there. However, I would like there to be enough people that want to participate so that our identities are actually secret. Please let me know if you guys are interested by voting in the poll below. For internationals (non - Americans) that are interested, I will say that you guys will probably have to have to mail internationally so I added an option to see just how many internationals there are. I will make an official post about the card exchange in October if there's enough interest. Thanks. https://www.strawpoll.me/45649945
>>3976144>https://www.strawpoll.me/45649945I think it doesn't work. I tried to vote but it didn't show up in results.
>>3976160That's weird. Thanks for telling me. The new poll is down below:https://livepoll.io/Gv5osx8c/
>>3976144never really used helma and don't bother going to /a/what is this exactly?
>>3976229>he doesn't knowwho's gonna tell him?
>>3976226Every year on /a/, there's a Secret Santa where people exchange cards and gifts for Christmas. Some people would post their SW-related stuff on Helma in the Christmas threads there so I thought that some of you guys might be interested in our own Secret Santa card exchange. Here's an example of a card, that I got from last year's Secret Santa. https://files.catbox.moe/5u96tf.jpg
New bread >>3976328>>3960283Hope you got something.. I kinda tried to muster to draw something too but so far it's just a shitty sketch.>>3971081Well that explains it then.
