Thread the Twenty-Fourth!F A B U L O U S EditionOld Thread: >>3366049
As much as I prefer suits over dresses, this one that was shared a while back is pretty nice.
>>3398730Indeed it is. To answer your question from the previous thread, I'm quite well, thanks. I'm sorry to hear something is ailing you. Hope you feel better soon, and please let us know if we can help.
>>3398748Oh. I forgot to include what the problem was. That was my bad, nothing major though don't worry.Just the Star Wars group sort of accidentally, uhm, invoking the annoyance of a criminal syndicate already(To be fair, most of them are newish and don't know better, but one of them absolutely should) already. However what I am looking for is what, IIRC, was an SFM video of D.Va as a Titanfall Pilot that I cannot find for the life of me, if you remember it yourself? Longshot, but might as well ask.
>>3399032Ah, that's unfortunate, but nothing I'm sure you can't handle. Hey, at least it wasn't the Deathwatch or a Sith.Sorry, I haven't the faintest, so I hope this cute pilot is at least a serviceable consolation.
>>3399409Yeah, it's hardly the end of the world, just didn't want to have the risk of them being indebted to a criminal group this soon. Oh well, it'll work out one way or the other. It is anon, appreciate it.
"Yeh best be wearin' green today if'n yeh know whats best fer yeh!"
>>3404971"'Sombra, my phone won't start.' 'Sombra, my computer's slow.' 'Sombra, the cable's all static-y.' 'Mleh mleh mleh.' I swear, the day this operation goes bust, I'm bailing and flooding the server with goat porn on my way out."
>>3405370"And on United Nations News tonight! Local Doomfist literally flies into orbit in a fit of rage after every file on his organization's work computers are replaced with adult material so sickening it was even banned by the Rebel Gorillas of the Horizon Colony. Masked murdered Reaper is quoted as asking 'Why not just turn it off and back on again?'. More at nine."
>>3405664"When reached for comment, Dr. Moira O'Deorain* replied: 'What's he so upset about?' before returning to her own computer."*I -think- that's her last name.
>>3405714I would ask why Moira wouldn't be concerned by all her files being replaced by goat porn, but knowing her she probably uses it as psychological warfare when the test subjects misbehave. And with that thought, I don't want to know.*It is, yeah.
>>3405853Uh, sure, "psychological warfare". Let's go with that.
>>3406014What...what else would she use it for? I mean I...uh, I'm not sure where this is going.
>>3406333I was going to be cheeky, but then I realized that we've basically taken this joke from "Sombra is Talon's only tech support" to "Moira likes goat porn."There comes a point where these things need to stop, and we seem to have reached it in record time.
>>3406758That's fair, I mean it's not like she's Sylvanas...or Doomfist(Although that claim depends on how annoyed I am), so yeah. Also sorry for sorta...'disappearing', yesterday I felt horrible and today was...not a good day.
>>3408184Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I know it's a stretch, but is there anything I can do in my capacity as a fellow poster to help you feel better?
>>3408488Honestly cute things helps a bit. It's not a small thing(What made the day bad), but every little helps
>>3408584You've come to the right place, then. I'm real sorry to hear you're having a rough time. I won't pry out of respect for your privacy, but I will wish you the best and do what I can to cheer you up. And you know what always cheers me up? Aminals.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7_8nWJyiPc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zi0-491IaOATo the extent it can, I hope this helps you.
>>3408988>>3408999Amazingly it's not me that was (directly)affected, unusual given my luck but that's not really any better, something happened with a mate that's...yeah, I appreciate the not prying. The animals help though(Especially the first husky and the Pandas). On an unrelated and slightly brighter-ish note, been playing the Division 2(It's very much a Ubisoft game, so bugs abound) and we thought it feels a bit like "Overwatch: But Singleplayer and also more depressing". Bit divided on whether it's Winston's Overwatch or Blackwatch but not Evil though.
>>3409259I know I've often felt worse for some of my own friends when they've gone through something than I've felt for myself, so I feel you; those are often more difficult to handle. You should know by now that I like to help and be positive, so please don't hesitate if you feel like you need a pick-me-up.Not really a follower of that franchise; I've heard mixed things about the original, but I may be willing to check it out if the issues have been ironed out. I've developed a habit myself of viewing media through a filter of "This is like Overwatch, but [X]" when appropriate, and even sometimes when it really isn't. Perhaps I've just become so anxious to see what initially lured me in pay off after three years of waiting that I subconsciously project my desires wherever they can gain a foothold. Vicarious closure is still closure, right?I hope everyone has a bear-y good evening.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f3RHmNJOTM
>>3409620I appreciate it, it's just...well trying not to say too much, not mine to say, but it's not something that -can- get better, so there's nothing I can really say that'd magically fix it. Just makes me feel useless. The first one got a LOT better(Minus the PVP) over the years, so I'd honestly recommend it if you can get it cheap to see if you like the gameplay.tl,dr:The (Strategic Homeland)Division is created, as part of Directive 51, a covert Government 'sleeper agency' intended to save/restore society if things get BAD, and is empowered to do whatever necessary to 'save what remains'An insane Scientist(Think the worst parts of Moira and Doomfist with NONE of the good sides) decides that mother nature needs a 'helping hand', and creates an incredibly lethal virus which he releases in New York on Black Friday(Infected bills). The Emergency Services are entirely overwhelmed, so Division is activated to try and contain it.If you want an Overwatch-ish experience, it's basically "The Omnic Crisis except the Strike Team is actually a good Blackwatch, and the Omnics are replaced with Smallbola and criminal groups taking advantage"(I want to be less vague but I'd rather Discord that, so the thread doesn't become wOrDs x50)It's going...about as well as it could, all things considered(The bears helped), you?
>>3409710I'm sure that you're doing all that you can. As long as you exert influence over what you can personally affect, you are never useless. No one has the means to solve every problem, and not every problem is yours to fix. Act responsibly and within your means, but don't harangue yourself over what you can't change.Sounds interesting, so I may give it a look. I need to get this itch scratched, and if Blizzard can't be bothered to lend me a backscratcher, then I would at least accept a fork from someone who can.I'm doing fine, thanks; not really anything to report. I hope things get better for you, so please take care of yourself.>>3409773I appreciate your contribution, really, but the rules around here say no boys allowed unless accompanied by a female chaperone. If you're new to the neighborhood, then welcome! And enjoy your stay.
>>3409994I know it's just...it sucks, can't really avoid that.To me it really is, lot more than I thought it'd be, although it is a bit of a "You have to travel off the beaten path to find all the notes and recordings" thing, so if that's your thing, even better. Plot was inspired by the findings of Operation Dark Winter(A Bioterror simulation conducted by the US Government to test preparedness), which I found neat, if a bit depressing. Although ODW also didn't have gangs of lunatics trying to screw over everyone else.(Directive 51 is also real, and was signed to help ensure continuity of Government in a 'catastrophic emergency', but the real D51 is incredibly boring and doesn't have sleeper agents....as far as the world knows)I'll try, but no promises.
>>3410355Hang in there, man; you aren't alone.Government agencies in real life tend to be far more mundane than fiction often portrays them, as they are largely bureaucratic institutions... unless that's what they WANT US TO THINK [X-Files theme]. That sounds fascinating, so now I'm not only interested, but I also want to read into this and do homework. I have a free weekend coming up, so I may give it a rental to check it out. I don't actively pursue collect-a-thons, but I don't really mind them; besides, that's just what's come to be expected from a modern Ubisoft title. Arkham City was -insane- with Riddler objectives, yet I still got them all, and I think that experience inoculated me from that particular brand of tedium.
>>3410642Well, now we'll be marked down for 'questioning' since we know too much about the shadow agencies, hope you enjoyed life so far. Ah, but being serious, I'm glad you're interested in it, although I will say it is an MMOTPS so the enemies are a bit bulletspongey at times just in case that's an issue. The collectibles aren't TOO bad, and they're usually pretty interest/neat, but there are a lot of them. I didn't quite get all of them, should have, but oh well. Hopefully I can get them all in 2 at least.
>>3410801Damn pigs will never take me alive!I don't mind bulletsponges as long as I'm with a coordinated team. If everyone is running around like a headless chicken, however, I would rather just let the boss eat me and move on to something else.
>>3411287It's too late, they already used their dark Illuminati powers to control the skeleton inside you. I should know, *they got mine first. Resistance is pointless*.They...MOSTLY know what they're doing in my experience, which is good. The few times they don't is unfortunate, but can't really be helped.
>>3411368Silly anon, skeletons aren't real! The costume and decoration industries invented them to increase sales around Halloween.
>>3411629But if Skeletons aren't real then what are those spooky looking things that are inside you when you get an X-Ray? And why do I feel urges to consume calcium when I'm unfocused?
>>3412214Coordination with the medical and milk-farming industries to maintain the ruse and keep the public in control through a constant state of ostiophobic paranoia.
>>3412484That sounds...believable. Now we just need to come up with an excuse for those white bits that you see when someone breaks their leg hard enough....we could just say something about cyborgs. People love cyborgs, right?
>>3413315That's our natural human candy filling, of course. Did you sleep through biology class or something?
>>3413802I...may have paid less attention than was strictly recommended, yes. Candy filling sounds delicious though. Now to find some....
>>3416169Have the full image on me, friend.
>>3416256I...didn't even know there was a full one, it's appreciated.
Hypothetical, if Lena was Blackwatch instead of Jesse, do you think she'd be able to convince Gabriel NOT to do the thing(...which may involve words being had with a certain Doctor)? Or just not do the thing THAT hard?(Admittedly this pic is Talon, but IMO the -actual- Blackwatch ones I have look more Talon than it.)Also how do you think a Blackwatch Tracer would get her powers? Some sort of personal teleporter or a case of "Lets just use one of Gabe's rejects to pilot the Slipstream, they're expendable"?
>>3417382That's hard to say, because that scenario presupposes a lot of factors (not the least of which being that she would have been roughly 18 and not yet enlisted at the time of the Venice incident, which is what I consider to be the initial breaking point, but we can be flexible just for the sake of discussion). The Lena Oxton attuned for a position in Blackwatch would likely be quite different in upbringing and temperament from the one we know, which calls into question which of her most identifiable traits would remain consistent. We can't know for sure, and it's impossible to take every variable into account, so let's just assume she would be mostly the same person but with a demeanor more suited for black ops (same ideals, but less cheerful and quicker to engage in the use of lethal force). If so, she's been shown to definitely not be afraid of speaking her mind around her superiors, so I'm sure she would have no issue with at least calling him out or reporting his behavior if she saw anything amiss. Whether or not anyone would actually listen to her and take action, however, is another matter.A Blackwatch Tracer could still be a pilot, but perhaps in a different capacity. Heck, as long as we're playing around with the canon, we could re-envision the Slipstream as an experimental stealth bomber or spy plane designed more for covert operations than as a traditional fighter jet.>>3417762Reminds me of the werewolf girl from Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School. Boy, that's a trip I wasn't expecting to take today.
>>3418115Honestly, the way I see it(which might be fatigue talking again), Lena isn't -that- far from Blackwatch material just going by Canon. She wants to do good, and does so, and if the needs must, then 'little things' like laws or sovereignty become things that 'other people' care about(Post-Petras and Uprising respectively). I agree that her...herness would need some tweaking though, so that she could stomach the darker side of the work. Her love for her friends might become a problem if she couldn't cool Gabe down and instead convinced herself his increasingly dark acts were the right path in the end however, road to hell is paved with good intentions and all...Speaking of speaking her mind with her superiors though, what do you think would happen with Moira? Assuming Gabe didn't listen to Lena saying that she's obviously bad news, she can't just tell Jack, since BW 'doesn't exist'. I...sorta want to say that Moira might have a not quite so accidental accident(There’s no way Lena would have let Moira do her thing if she knew. BW Lena is less squeaky clean, but she’s not EVIL.)….which might fix a lot of the fall depending on WHEN actually...The Slipstream as a covert dropship/spyship would probably fit Blackwatch I think? Hard to catch the infiltrators if their jet just blinks out of existence. Essentially a Hind, but modern, stealthed, and with time powers.(Stupid, semi-related thought. Lena is essentially a good Gabriel. I blame the lack of sleep for this mistake.)
Oh also, the new Archives event has an announcement trailer and.....oh boy it's all bad*.From the gameplay of the characters they picked, to the in universe reasons**....this won't be a fun one, going by what's been shown so far(Which is nothing except an audio log and a date).*Subjectively.**Still mad about Uprising. Also mostly subjective about the gameplay. The fact still is that two of them were nerfed into uselessness and one is Genji.
>>3418528>Tracer is in charge>not funOuur girl is back. I just hope that writers will finally treat her with respect instead of beating her up and ruining her hopes and dreams.
>>3418561>Tracer is in charge.>In part due to Uprising. For me, that is indeed not fun. Don't get me wrong I still adore her, but that right there won't stop being a sore point for reasons I covered before and really shouldn't again(Don't want to drag the thread down I mean). The one bright spot is that main man Winston gets a moment in the spotlight. Poor guy has done nothing wrong, unlike...the entire rest of the Oldwatch cast, and yet he never gets any love.(Although I should clarify that 50% of it not being fun for me is that two of the characters, Tracer and Mercy are currently....unloved by the balance team, and Genji is...Genji, I personally just don't like his playstyle, especially in PVE. The other half is still lore though.)
>>3418160I see where you’re coming from, although I think her occasional disregard for the law is more situational than a habit; it’s more a matter of "in this particular instance, this is the path of least resistance to alleviate human suffering", which will always be her top priority. The substance of Blackwatch duty is a far cry different from that of a more "mainstream" agent, and would likely entail much harsher actions on a more consistent basis. A Lena more attuned to such a position would be more mentally prepared to accept and stomach these tactics, but–in the context of recognizing the problem of incrementally more drastic measures–stands a greater risk of becoming desensitized. That might be the greater liability, as the Lena-as-we-know-her would likely have a more visceral reaction and lobby a stronger objection. The chiefest problem would be her recourse for disciplinary action. I don't think even a darker Tracer would resort to outright murder of a colleague, even a bad one, but Blackwatch's nature admittedly entails a limited pool of options. Its agents are privy to Overwatch's most sensitive and damaging secrets, so they can't just be discharged. Jesse and Genji might understand, but would you trust Moira to maintain the honor system and stay quiet, even under threat of reprisal? Imprisonment may be an option, but that would necessitate a trial and sentencing which would no doubt invite public scrutiny and more questions. There may not be an entirely clean solution, unless leadership was willing to be very diplomatic (perhaps with a severance of a grant and a private laboratory) to ensure their parting on amicable terms, although you could also argue that amounts to little more than bribery or capitulation.
However, in the parlance of our times and, more presciently, with regards to today’s news,WE GOTS BIGGER FISH TA FRY.
S H EB A C CB O I Shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgffRW1fKDk
God Almighty, I have been waiting for this. Do you know how long it’s been since her last (canon) appearance? I do.July 6, 2017–April 8, 2019641 days. Just over 1 year and 9 months. 21 months. 91 weeks and 4 days. 175.62% of a common year. If a human child had been conceived on July 6, 2017, they could have been carried to term, delivered and begun walking and talking by today.Yes, I know there are plenty of other characters who have either gone with less for much longer or even not yet received anything, but I feel like few others have had to deal with as much that was actively as unenjoyable and damaging, and she has always been special to me. I’m real sorry to hear that my friend is disappointed, but I personally feel like I finally have a reason to be happy for her again. I am literally giggling to myself like an idiot as I type this right now, I’m so excited.
I was so fired up last night that I could barely sleep and fully expect myself to start nodding off at work today, but it was worth it.I also just realized this is the first time outside the context of putting over a newcomer that we'll be seeing the dream team in action since the very first trailer, so that's pretty exciting.
>>3418900It, upon looking it up, is sort of complicated Tl,dr: While the...Uprising thing breaks at least one VERY serious law, She only MAY be breaking international law with the Alive and forward stuff(It depends on the wording of the Petras Act apparently), so it could go either way in regards to disregarding the law. I do agree about having to be a lot different from a blue-y to fit in Blackwatch though, but otoh, surely there’s no smoke without fire? You're right about the desensitization honestly, I just thought love/loyalty due to how she answered the Recall almost immediately. Given what Overwatch did last time, that's a lot of loyalty to her friend to just jump straight in. That mixed with what you mentioned is...not good. That’s just the problem though, Overwatch can’t get rid of her, because like you say, she knows too much, so their options really would boil down to “Lock up and throw away key” or “unfortunate lab accident”. While it’s possible the deal might interest her, the big problem there is that there would almost certainly be clauses she wouldn’t accept(I.e: Don’t be a war criminal), so that option’s out. So her only real option to deal with Moira is the second option, and while Bluewatch Lena certainly wouldn’t do it(Without a pretty big push), Blackwatch Lena isn’t quite so neat and tidy, especially given that she’d need to be suitably...darkened to do wetwork in the first place. Like you say at her core, she wants to do good, and if fixing the ‘Moira Problem’ will save thousands, if not millions, what’s one more little part of her soul compared to them?(Of course it’s also possible that after Moira tries to ‘treat Tracer’s condition’ -replicate it/make her into Widowmaker...Tracer...thing- one too many times, Winston might do it. Innocent and harmless he may be, but harm his friends and he very much will harm you.)
>>3419326In the case of Alive, I would argue the PETRAS Act doesn't apply to her since she was operating in her own capacity as an individual rather than on the behalf of Overwatch itself. Unless just her being a former agent is enough; in which case, she's violating the act any time she goes out of her way to help someone–like with the mugging in Reflections–and that seems a tad extreme. She's definitely violating it by responding to the recall, though, since that explicitly entails rebuilding the organization. I'm sure loyalty played a part in that, but loyalty more to the ideal of the organization and to a personal friend who you said yourself hasn't really done anything wrong. I'm sure she's aware of the myriad problems that were in play; she may just think hindsight and a clean slate can help them do better this time and circumvent those issues.I really hate to use this as a comparison, because it's an extreme one, but there are instances of former nazi scientists and engineers being recruited by the Allies (mostly the US) following the war to assist in the arms race against the Soviets. So, with the right circumstances, offer and willingness of both parties to compromise, there is precedence even in a historical context that someone of her... demeanor could be won over peaceably (if not necessarily spotlessly, and it's not a smooth 1:1 comparison due to innumerable variables). Or they could just stuff the lab freezer with a year's supply of dino nuggies; that would certainly win -me- over.
>>3420003The mugging isn't so much an issue as the getting into a gunfight with an Assassin bit, imo at least. While it's hardly going to hurt anything to stop some ass from stealing from people, 'interfering' with a sanctioned police/security op is a big step up...even if the officers/mercs were currently unconscious/dead. Which would mean she couldn't interfere....The exact wording, and thus, bindingness of the Act is going to be yet another thing to throw on the MOUNTAIN SIZED PILE of things Micheal needs to address if someone can stop him from going Sequel Trilogy on Overwatch's (scarcely)existing lore for 2 seconds. Post-Recall is definitely bad like you say, but...And true she jumped back to the Recall quickly, but for a hypothetical Blackwatch Lena, then Gabe would (maybe?)be her friend, so she might turn a blind eye to some of his actions...then commit them, and so on and so forth. It's not so much the extremeness that makes me shy away from making it(More that it's terrible to be told "Hey ur waifu a nazi k?"), but you are right, although an important, and potentially deal breaking, caveat is that most* of the staff who got 'dealt with'(Moved) were involved in the designing and manufacture of weapons rather than from the Medical Corps. It’d be a lot harder to convince anyone(especially Lena, and Mercy+Winston actually) that hiring the Dara Aingeal an Bháis** is on the same level as, say, letting one of the AIs from the Omniums design Anti-Omnic weapons(If Torb hadn’t stayed around I mean), never mind convincing her NOT to do something about it when the official response is “STFU and deal with it”. I mean I’d settle for a lifetime supply of spicy food, but to Moira, SCIENCE is the spicy food, and if the ‘waiter’ doesn’t let you have ALL of it...you have to go to two restaurants at once.*But not all, AFAIK**Google Translate is your friend, although you’re probably able to guess from the second word, with the context of the discussion.
>>3420052Yes, which is why I say that interpretation seems extreme. We can't actually know if we aren't privy to what the specifics entail, and "No Overwatch Activity" is a pretty broad blanket when you consider so much of the cast are former agents who are still operating in some capacity. Like, is Reinhardt violating it just by putting his armor back on? Does Mercy now have restrictions on how she can practice medicine?Perhaps, but it depends on how many of her ideals would remain consistent and how stringently she would adhere to them. After all, Jesse had pretty much stopped being friends with Gabe by the end, and while I certainly don't consider him a bad guy, I'm under no delusion that he's as idealistic.Fiiine. TWO years' worth of dino nuggies. Like I said, it's not an entirely smooth comparison (especially since, in addition to what you mentioned, the process was more about recruiting German technical expertise, and not everyone involved had nazi sympathies), and the last thing I want to do is call someone's waifu a nazi (on the other hand, this is 4chan, so some people might consider it a compliment, but that's not even what I'm saying; I'm just using a historical precedent for dealing with people who have less-than-wholesome opinions as an example); I'm just trying to examine our potential avenues. Frankly, Moira means so little to me that I can't fully invest myself in this part of the discussion. I think if there's any conclusion to be drawn from this at all, it's that accepting her might have been a boo-boo.
>>3420734Extreme, yes, but the circumstances were too. They had what was essentially a World Police that was ignoring directives from it's superiors(Assuming that wasn't covered up), and had a super shady black ops unit that recruited actual terrorists. Between them, OW and BW had a timejumper who's true power is only known by precisely one man...who is also a fiercely protective gorilla supergenius that is the strongest being on earth, a walking tank that could take on entire companies of murderbots by himself, and a cyborg ninja who may actually be magic, to name a few. IMO at least these aren't the sort of people who you want to risk going rogue AGAIN. Although to be fair even if it IS binding, it's possible the police just don't want to deal with it as long as they be good with their breaking the law. Lot easier to just ignore Tracer saving those people than it is to tell Wiston "Uh...no you can't have your friend back...please don't do what you did to Doomfist."(assuming you can even catch her). Although Mercy's fine, she doesn't really Overwatch anymore.Eh, Jesse is also significantly less loyal than Lena imo, although at least he managed to stay good-ish after running off.It was absolutely the biggest booboo, bigger than screwing up the Slipstream, failing to keep track of one dude's wife(funny how Fareeha never had to worry about going missing, eh Ana?) and creating Blackwatch combined.Yeah I get what you mean, and in the sake of fairness, there WOULD be a deal Overwatch could make that she would accept, it's just that they'd be insane TO make it. Plus nobody would be happy with it(even Moira wouldn't).
>>3420761I rise from my slumber! My power's been out.On one hand, the forces that threaten the world are of a similar caliber, which makes Overwatch the force best-equipped to handle them. On the other hand, there is a real risk for them to cause harm with that power if there is no measure for accountability. On the third, radioactive, hand, that concern has been shown to not be unwarranted when those measures are removed. On the fourth, also radioactive, hand (which is actually a glowing foot!), they've also accomplished much good under those same conditions. It's a complicated issue. Should we ever see substantive progress with the rebuilding effort, a possible solution may be greater coordination between the two parties (that is OW and the UN, or... "Owun" if you like naming your OTPs), perhaps with an on-staff liaison with a direct perspective for how the organization operates for the sake of maintaining transparency and communication. Gah, there's so much to do and so much to explain! I'm thrilled to see Lena back, but I wouldn't mind seeing some actual progression either.
>>3422946Welcome back my dude, we have cookies now.I mean you have a point that it's true, and that Overwatch did need scary people to fight the -evil- scary people, but they could have achieved the same by recruiting their scary people from special forces imo, rather than, well...what they did(Minus Genji, because actual magic ninjas are too rare NOT to pick one up) which would help curb the "If you don't get caught it's not a crime"-ism that sort of really plagued Blackwatch.The...covertness minus accountability is complicated, yeah, but surely there would have been a better in universe solution than "What do you mean the people are upset we formed a covert special ops unit that does terrible things and only have -their- word it's for the good of all?". Ah well.I mean that would give a good excuse for Hana to go to Overwatch(And isn't just "LOL time for the -other- Pilot to commit treason* for giggles"), but we'd have to see how (in)competent Micheal is feeling when he advances the lore first. I'll just cross my fingers and hope. Also, I'll probably end up not touching the event outside of All Heroes so I can play without the lore, but what platform are you on if you don't mind saying?
>>3423021I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, mate. I, personally, am feeling rejuvenated. For nearly two straight years, all I've wanted for my top girl is a reprieve from indignity and futility. Now, I finally have one and an opportunity to cheer for her again, and I'm very excited for it.Welp, I guess it's confession time. I play the PS4 version. Furthermore, not only am I a filthy consolefag, I'm also [pause for thunderclap] a Mac user. In fact, part of the reason I'm a Mac user is because I'm a long-time Blizzard fan (my gateway drug was the original launch of WoW all the way back in 2004), and they've traditionally been really good about keeping us in mind with their releases. I'll admit to being disappointed that Overwatch broke the trend, but I don't really begrudge the decision (we macfags aren't exactly known for being competitive e-sports types, after all, and I'll also confess to having never even touched Competitive mode).
>>3423580Nothing to be sorry for man, don't begrudge you for liking the lore changes. It's not even really what Tracer did(Well, not entirely), but how the -world(of Overwatch)- reacted that has me peeved.I mean, I play on PS4 as well, comp I played on died....a -while- ago and I just didn't play enough modern games to justify splurging on a new one, so back to Sony it was since Microsoft killed all their exclusives. Being a Mac user though..."Talon uses Mac, you don't want to be like Talon, do you?" - Microsoft employee in a really terrible Overwatch cosplay(Although I only got back into Comp because I bet a mate I'd get more kills on...urgh...Fortnite, then lost)I'd ask if you wanted to team up for it, buuuuuuut....Mercy says that consuming too much salt is bad for your health, and I have a feeling that the atmosphere will -become- the salt in short order. (Sort of related: I am beyond tilted that JACK of all people gets his formal uniform from the Intro but not....oh....everyone else who was there too.)
Also the actual trailer for the event dropped and...the law requires I not voice my opinions. Did...did Jeff let the people responsible for all the Sylvanas wankery make this trailer?
Can you post your rarest Mercy pics to get me through the possibility her being matched with someone tomorrow? I'd be grateful.
>>3423745Matched in what sense? In the sense of the Genji(VERY professional Doctor) hints?Still, I'll do what I can, although I don't have that much Mercy.
Not too sure about the tattoo, but the rest is great.
>>3423761>>3423770Thank you, friend. And yes, it is because of that. I'm quite fearful.
>>3423821I know the worry, I'm still...'unhappy' with Blizzard about...the redhead who isn't Moira(Literally anyone else is better), so I'll hit you up with the good stuff while I play. This one is pretty rare afaik, but...I'm not sure WHY the artist put those scissors there...
Not exactly rare, I don't think, but one of my favourites nonetheless.
There's also this, but I don't think this is quite what you had in mind.
>>3423586Give it time, it'll happen eventually.I wouldn't be averse to that, but not for Competitive. That's not my style; besides, I would totally be the guy who picks Mei just to laugh as everyone else gets salty.
>>3423745>>3423821Be strong, my friend. I'm sure you are not alone.Genji and Mercy have already had shipping wars waging around them for years. If Blizzard actually commits, I imagine the community will explode to a degree the likes of which we have never seen before.
>>3424048Don't worry mate, Comp can get the Doomfist treatment(That is, it gets thrown in a small room with no connections or care), was just meaning for the event or the odd arcade mode if you felt like it. At least there wouldn't be a rush to grab Tracer this time around...ha....ha....(I'll play Mercy. And D.Va in all Heroes.)At least ye not-so-old Retribution has no really moodkilling lore bits*.*There is the obvious one there but we don't talk about that. Can catch me on Discord or one of us could post PSN id? Brain isn't fully powered to think of logical solutions rn to be truthful.
>>3424095I personally found Retribution kinda dreary, but I'm still up for most anything. I think I still have your Discord contact saved somewhere, so I'll hit you up in a few days. I have work to deal with now, but I also have a long weekend coming up because of Easter.I'm leaving for work now. If the fandom blows up while I'm away, tell my waifu I love her.
>>3424343Eh I liked it myself, probably more than Uprising purely speaking from gameplay, but it's a fair complaint. But it's cool, don't worry about it.If thinks explode we can just get all the waifus and hide in Korea. Hana has a pretty nice place....excluding the almost exploding then almost drowning because of Omnics. But I mean, with enough waifu there is no threat to laifu, yes?
Well, it happened. It certainly didn't shatter my soul like I was worried it would. I still don't know how to feel about it though. At least Lenafriends will be happy. She had a lot of nice moments.
>>3424481As one of the aforementioned Lenafriends(The salty one), I can't really say I'm happy with...any of it in all honesty. The best I could say is there's one bit I'm conflicted about(The bit where the irony levels get so high prequel memes need to be involved).Sorry about it though Mercyfriend. Have a feeling I'm going to see the scenes shortly...when I go play Mercy...because Tracer is....I'll just not say the thing. I will however fetch my rarest Mercies.
I'm so happy right now.
...the hell did I just play? I feel robbed.
>>3424481I was going to post some Gency earlier in the thread. In hindsight, I'm kinda glad I didn't. Sorry about your waifu, mate. As a Lenafriend, I am indeed happy and excited to hear that, and I appreciate the sentiment. And as someone who quickly made peace with Reflections, please let me offer you some encouragement: as long as what you love about her remains fundamentally unchanged, then she's still worth loving and that's what matters most. Do what makes you happy, and try not to let other things worry you.>>3424446After all this drama and madness have settled, a waifu picnic in Hana's backyard sounds like a great way to chill out and unwind. Can we please go back to having fun again?
>>3424552I walked outside, and I swear the trees looked greener. I feel like a dark cloud that has been hanging over me has finally begun to dissolve.
>>3424963I will have fun again eventually...once I fire up the headcanon machine at 200% power. Still got the Division for the Not!Overwatch fix at least...Ah in all seriousness I'm glad you're happy with it though, as long as some good comes out of the event I can't totally hate it.
>>3424963I won't stop loving her no matter what. She means everything to me. I don't really want to go on another rant again but she helped me turn my life around and I even got into STEM because of her. It's just that all of this caused me a lot of pain that might linger for some time, but I'll find a way to deal with it. Honestly this incredibly forced ship already breaks established lore and character development so I feel justified if I don't consider it canon. Now I know how you feel about Reflections. Thanks for all the cute pics and the support. You are a sweet bunch and deserve your waifu's love.
>>3425111Not that guy(The other Tracer fan tho), but I know what you mean, been ignoring reflections since it existed(for good reason) so you're not alone in the non-canonizing.If you don't mind the asking, what's your preferred ship? The most common one I've seen is Pharmercy(Which I like out of game about as much as I LOATHE it in game...so a lot), but I've seen the odd Tracey and one or two...Mer.Va...D.cy...uh...Hana and Angela.(Personally Widowtracer is my drink of choice, although T.Va has been growing on me too...)
>>3425111>I won't stop loving her no matter what. She means everything to me.>she helped me turn my life around and I even got into STEM because of herThat's the spitit, anon! Good luck with your studies!>Now I know how you feel about Reflections. It still hurts like hell. I'm so sorry you have to go through this, anon, but I hope you'll find your way out. Remember that your feelings towards her are more real than anything any writer could ever write.
>>3425111I actually like Reflections just fine, myself, but I can easily understand why others would take issue with it. You have the right attitude about this. I wish you luck with your endeavors, and I hope you stick around. We piss and moan sometimes, but we also have a lot of fun and support each other, and we could always use another positive poster.Boy, I hope the Pharmercy shippers are alright. I always liked it, but never to a degree that I actively worried about it being sunk. Really, I enjoy nearly all of the major ships (with the main exceptions of Genzo, Widowtracer, Moircy and Reaper: 76), but my one true pairing will always be Bastion/Roadhog, which is the true patrician's choice, of course.
>>3425430I mean while Widowtracer(...and -that-) is always gonna be a sticking point with us, but....>GenzoYou see now I know* you must be bsing me with that. Because that's absolutely silly** anon. Nobody would actually do that***. I would take FemGabrielxTracer**** over that.*Hope.**Absolutely disturbing.***I'm almost certain it's actually been done.****Exclusively meaning Pre-Traitor Fembriel, not Reaper. But uh, on an unrelated and less 'interesting' topic, would either of you be able to recommend some relaxing music to just chill with? Ubisoft games being Ubisoft games doesn't get any less distressing just because one accepts it. Just trying classical atm, but open to suggestions.
>>3425439Yup. But you have my word I'll never be antagonistic about it as long as you do the same."you must be bsing me with that"Oh, sweet summer child. If only you had seen the things I have.I think I can help you with your problem; I'm a fan of classic jazz, myself:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fC1qSxpmKohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LvY-Bj85Ushttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fEqrnR7_yT8But let it never be said I can't branch out:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNwYtllyt3Qhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m45dfKYezowhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ulEMXUNyRo
What an eventful thread this has been.
New adventures await!New Thread: >>3425665
>>3425662I mean, if it helps I do have reasons beyond "Hurr Tracer is horny and the baguette has nice assets", but the thread is not the place for that discussion. That's some nice music, and it does help relax, although an unexpected(and very welcome) boon is that it reminds me of 'the old days', watching Blues Brothers on VHS. I needed that, so I thank you. (Was quite strange seeing Princess Leia as Jake's psycho ex since I watched the OT first though.)
