Either one will lead to a new global monetary system sooner or later. it probably and hopefully won't be the proverbial Mad Max scenario, similar to what you describe, but times will probably be tough. It's not a fantasy. I would love it if things could go back to being the way they were just a few years ago, or even just stay as they are now. It just seems unlikely to me, though I hope I'm wrong.

I don't know what kind of gold he was selling, but the owner offered him $125 for it and he was dissatisfied with that offer because he stated that the week prior he was given $150 for the same amount of gold. The owner told him that he doesn't control the price and that gold had been going down.It was interesting seeing somebody desperate to sell what little gold he could scrounge up for cash.
