So a case for demand would be this: A company wants to run a site, but they don't want to constantly buy tokens all the time to let people use their site. They buy a certain amount of tokens to lock up and use the rewards to self sustain their canisters. The initial tokens are now off the market, and the tokens that are being printed are then being burned. Now amplify this to a larger scale as more and more people create on the IC. Eventually the rewards dwindle down to 5% per year so the bar to flip from inflationary to deflationary gets lowered until 5% is reached. Tokenomics are pretty cool.
