Welcome to the Monero General, dedicated to the discussion of the world's leading decentralized P2P privacy cryptocurrency!

Monero is secure, low-fee, and fungible, meaning users can send XMR around the globe despite corrupt governments or broken financial systems. Innovative privacy features such as Ring Signatures, Stealth Addresses, and Ring CT ensure that Monero's blockchain is obfuscated -- In other words, the financial history of all Monero users is encrypted from the prying eyes of adversaries on a public blockchain, with transactions being visible only by a user willingly providing a view key.

Monero has also improved upon the scaling downsides of current popular cryptos. To avoid high fees, dynamic block size ensures that the size of the blocks will increase as the amount of transactions increases. Further, the mining network algorithm RandomX establishes that anybody with a CPU can participate in mining, preventing the ASIC miner domination that creates a high barrier of entry. Lastly, the mining network will be preserved by Tail Emission -- instead of the block reward falling to zero like with Bitcoin, the block reward will gradually approach 0.6 XMR in June 2022, where it will forever stay. This constant linear inflation means the inflation rate will asymptotically go to zero while continuing to provide an incentive to miners to maintain the network.

If you still have questions, feel free to ask and a MoneroChad will be with you shortly.

I'm a few months into crypto and I've come to the conclusion that this is one of the only worthwhile projects among a sea of all hype and no substance shitcoins. Bitcoin has no relevance to anything. Crypto needs BTC as much as it needs DOGE.

based. truth is, normies still think BTC etc. are private. combine that with the fact that they'll gladly hand over all their info to Faceberg etc. and people wrongly assume the general public just doesn't give a flying fuck about privacy in ANY capacity, when in reality BTC etc. are even LESS private than Facebook etc. because as you said, they're visible to fucking everyone, not just gubmint and zuckerberg.

There needs to be a payment solution for resellers to easily add to their stores. It needs to:
-provide a public key for the customer
-log the relevant transaction data and pair it with a order number
-create an invoice for the customer and the seller
-email the customer with their invoice and order number

The easier the payment solution is to implement, the faster people we begin to accept monero as payment.

I thought monero was cool this morning but now I think its really sleazy and gay. The people that use it are for the most part shameless criminals who get what they want via deception and theft, and who prey upon and cannibalize their fellow man. I thought monero would stick it to the givernment, who i viewed the most egregiously immoral actors in commerce and culture, but i now realize that my peers in the monero space are actually sketchy scumbags and con artists who are much worse than big brother government. I now understand the sentiments of those people who would ban this anonympus medium of exchange rather than enable these shameless wretches to use it degrade and destroy society.

BOYS IT HAPPENED.

A completely NON-EXSITANT chain is worth TEN TIMES more than XMR.

What a fucking clown world crypto has become.

To clarify: The Solana blockchain has come to a halt due to a bug, and last txn was four hours ago. After the bug, team shut the network down themselves. 100% centralised, 100% halted.

https://solscan.io/txs

What a fucking joke.

Once enough of these scams go up in flames, we will be some of the last few standing there with actual crypto.

this never happens and people just forget about it. The DAO hack was supposed to be this as well for Eth when they reverted the chain, but it still kept its 2nd spot place for so long... because normies just want number to go up so they are willing to take the risks. We will be the last ones standing because people will have no other choice, like the "criminals" do today

Out of curiousity, what purpose does wownero serve? Is there more to it than a Monero reskin?
>>
>>40818773
It's basically a testnet version, but out in the wild. Features which would be considered risky to deploy but need real world stress testing like banning pool mining get implemented on wownero. You can think of it as monero but with cocaine and hookers, it's probably not good for you health but it sure is more fun. if I honestly needed to make a secure private transaction I would stick with XMR, but WOW has decent meme value and it's worth at least being aware of.

It's in beta and down at the moment, so half the board is shitting on it. Imagine Ethereum, but with mere seconds of confirmation time and for Monero-tier fees. That's what dPoW/PoH consensus can do. It's crypto with a focus on mass adoption. I hope we can have a more decentralized version of it as a side chain to XMR one day.

About Monero not being able to generate interests, well it can't in a decentralized way it's not the purpose of the project anyway. Any bank or pseudobank can treat it like any asset as collateral though.

>>
>>40825747
If you did KYC then no. If only for the fact that there could be a note attached to your name saying you bought XMR. If you're super schizo you can always buy from localmonero
>>
>>40825747
If you withdraw from binance first, nobody will be able to see what you spend your moneroj on. However, binance is know-your-customer, so *someone* will know that you bought it at some point. Non-KYC exchanges are mentioned in the images posted first in these threads.
