Any stock simulator that has options? I want to experiment and git gud for the real deal

So I'm reading up bonds and I suppose there's something I'm missing.

If you have a bond with a payout of $1000, and a rate of 10 percent for both corporate and the other one, then when it matures, you wind up with $1000 + $100 x however many years. How does this get priced?

I think I get why bond prices move up and down. it's because as interest rates increase or decrease, the bonds issued previously gain or lose value because you can just get a new bond if rates are better, but if rates are worse, you want those old bonds. I think hte thing I struggle with however is understanding what these get priced at. Nobody is gonna pay "$1000 + $100 x number of years"...so what would they pay?

read anon.. more historical tidbits:

"In the early years of the stock-market rise that began in 1949-50 considerable interest was attracted to various methods of taking advantage of the stock market's cycles. These have been known as "formula investment plans." The essence of all such plans––except the simple case of dollar averaging––is that the investor automatically does SOME selling of common stocks when the market advances substantially.

. . .

Many of these 'formula planners' would have sold all their stocks at the end of 1954, after the U.S. stock market rose 52.6%, the second-highest yearly return then on record. Over the next five years, these market-timers would likely have stood on the sidelines as stocks doubled."

I don't care wether OPTI deal is legit or not

It will create more buzz and hype

The ticket jumped 100% on the news alone that there was a 2 billion dollar deal

It has now been paid for, certified, and they are starting to fulfill the order.

EVEN IF, all of that is not real THERE WILL BE more buzz closer to December 31st, and thats why I bought in Friday.

https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1557340/000107997320000919/optec_8k.htm

Instead of wanting it to be a scam, I want it to be real, and I want all of you to be apart of it!

Happy New Year

>"Thus we reach the final paradox, that the more successful the company, the greater are likely to be the fluctuations in the price of its shares. This really means that, in a very real sense, the better the quality of a stock, the more speculative it is likely to be—at least as compared with the unspectacular middle-grade issues"

interesting, though I'd argue we're plagued with some strong "retard strength" these days. just consider NKLA for example, though its downturn was swift.

that's *maybe* a 10x ticket with a very likely 100% potential downside, you may as well just use that money for OTM calls on PLTR or GME or whatever else your portfolio had

what's the point of dwelling on a dud, you're not the same person who was averaging DOWN on it are you?
>>
>>24131825
The redemption value plus or minus depending on if the bond is in the money or out of the money with its interest bearing rate. A $20,000 bond with a 10% value for five remaining years right now would sell for way over $20,000 because the interest rate is almost 0%. Its an odd time for bonds because the interest rate is so low, normally I could also say a $20,000 bond with five years left of 4% interest will be worth way less than $20,000, but that’s not the case right now.

Covid has destroyed my hours as they cut in person classes and sports/gym/pool way back. Thought I would be in good shape a couple weeks ago then BAM university execs freaked the fuck out about the case count spike and shut down even further. Starting salary at UPS would be a pay cut for sure but still manageable.

Rocket lab isn't really competetition to spacex, they're a smallsat launch company. They might steal some of spacex's tiny rideshare payloads but those probably respresent less than ~10% of spacex revenue.

Their rockets are really interestingly designed to be cheap, simple, and reliable though. If almost all of these space companies weren't private I'd be investing.

UPS Career routes goes as follows:

1) Work there temporarily just to make some emergency money

2) Work there permanently, either going through

a) Managment
b) Driver Route

Either route, your first year is boring, miserable and exhausting. If you stick through, it becomes much easier.

Luckily for me, I bypassed all that BS. Signed up to be a CDL Driver for UPS. Union wages are Yummy.

Also fits my anti-social personality.

>>24134057
I'm into boxing. I get to choose my routes. I can either:

1) Work 11-16 hour days, get paid 100-150k.

2) Work 8-10 hour days, get paid 80-100k.

I chose option 2, so I can actually retire in 20 years without dying 5 years later.

The guys working inside the warehouse, loading, unloading are in great shape cardio wise. Anyone that does that job loses 10-20 pounds the 1st month, guaranteed.

I was an unloader for FedEX for 2 months in my 20's. It fucked up my lower back and knees towards the end. It's great job for those who want to exercise while making money, but it's not sustainable.

If the stock market does crash, money would flow into bonds. This pushes interest rates lower, and you sell the bond at a profit.

When interest rates rise, this causes stress to the credit market. This is the order of how capital structures get crushed:

The first assets to depreciate are:
- Equities
- Real estate
- Junk bonds (they're positively correlated to equities)

These assets do reasonably well
- Mortgage backed securities
- Corporate Bonds
- Municipal Bonds

These assets are risk free (but they carry currency risk)
- Government Bonds
- TIPS

This asset has optionality but has inflation risk, and also "bail-in" risk since it becomes an equity position if your bank fails.
- Cash

This asset has deflation risk.
- Gold
- TIPS

The best way to understand this is by reading up on capital structures. Remember that stocks are the first to go to zero, then mezzanine debt, then senior debt (bonds), and finally bank loans/debtor-in-possession debt.

Banks get first dibs (they get all their money back), then bondholders (they get most back), then mezzanine debt holders (they get some back), and then finally, shareholders (who get practically nothing).

50/50 WKHS & Ford/Oshkosh.

My thesis: USPS wants the HR pump with electric play/"look at us, we're green"...while also having a diversified energy source so that they're not totally reliant on EV if anything goes wrong.
>>
>>24135262
Gold does poorly because investors get margin called in a liquidity crunch, and they end up having to sell their gold to cover.

If the deflation is so bad that it causes banks to fail, then gold is still a good asset to own even if the price goes down, because it's better than losing your entire bank deposit (1931).

They make the cutscenes to all of your favorite CoD games. PLTR is also automating the payload deployment on the F-35. Now all bombs will specifically target people with high levels of melanin content. Super big contract inbound. Source- bro trust the plan

GME is probably the "safest" out of the meme stocks right now if only because it's a value trap in its core (still only at 0.17x of revenues kek)
there's nothing impressive about holding it when institution buying made $10 the new floor
>>
>>24136033

>It's a shame that coom posting stopped them from taking profits at $15/share. RIP
easy to say in hindsight

it doesn't make sense as a target to trim profits on, and GME is such a volatile stock that every pullback can easily be followed by a whipsaw the next day so it's hard to justify setting a trailing stop this early

People just underestimated how much panic selling there would actually be prior to elections, but fuck lol even TUP had a -50% pullback before it would go up another +400% so just focus on FA and add on pullbacks
>>

those are all albums they did
>>
>>24136194
nah, it was only the 3rd week of the month that was significant. It's pretty much clear until 12/18 now

GME can now dump hard now that people who bought 11p and 12p for 11/20 have killed themselves. If you're optimistic, you could also hope that it can now rally upwards until Q3
More likely it will just crab until Q3 while PLTR goes to $25

survivor bias

what happened to overwatch? All the other MMOs that are now defunct?
It's also not enough that they are still alive, how is WoW's growth in subscribers over the past few years? You are putting money into it, can you be sure you will actually see returns on it or will it just crab or go on a decline?

if we were talking about a Pokemon IPO, obviously it'd be a different story, but that's never going to happen because they would never need an IPO in the first place because they make too much money already

So just so everyone knows, Bezos long game is to turn Mars into a giant industrial planet free from environmental compliance constraints and the prying eyes of Earth. Nuclear powered everything, dumping waste straight to pits, exhausting toxic fumes directly to atmosphere. Terraforming is a giant meme and Jeff knows it. In 2100, Amazon rockets will deliver refined precious metals and other base industrial goods straight to Earth. Mars will never be green, no. Mars will be bright fucking red.
>>
>>24136495
>Amazon rockets will deliver refined precious metals and other base industrial goods straight to Earth

a rocket loaded up with gold would weigh so much...
>>
>>24136450
Do you know for how long Roblox has been around? It's not going away.
>>
>>24136495
>Bezos long game
>Mars
So close, yet so far. Musk's long game is Mars, Bezos' long game is Luna and O'Neill cylinders. It wouldn't make sense to put a forge world on Mars, the shipping time to Earth would be abysmal. Imagine if you could only send and receive shipments from China every 26 months.
>>
https://twitter.com/ryancohen

i hope this is a fake account because if it isn't, Cohen sure is narcissistic
but at the same time I don't think it's fake because the twitter account was made before Chewy IPO'd and no one would have given a shit about some random CEO
>>
>>24136508
If it was loaded with gold, sacrificing the rocket and crash landing is still worth. Just getting it out of the gravity well is the bitch.
>>
Is it time for utz calls monday?
>>
>>24136528
The closest other square footage is Luna and NIMBY liberals aren’t going to let you go full anarcho-space-industrialism on the moon because you can see it from Earth. Mars is also closer to the asteroid belt. More importantly, there is no other short term use for the land other than as a place to do dirty things. Green Mars is a 10,000 year pipe dream.

What’s also important is government subsidies for taking polluting processes off world. The world is going to become more agrarian and service based because that’s what Earth is good for.
>>
>>24136515
i just explained why just being "alive" is not enough
you are putting your money into it and hope it will grow. Do you think Roblox will continue to show substantial growth? Or will it just decline and stay stagnant after a couple years?
Plenty of vidya shit and MMOs are still "alive", but in terms of stocks, they'd be like value traps that aren't growing anymore

but say we ignore all that shit because we're boomer investors and don't actually understand vidya. The biggest red flag is the fact that Roblox needed to do an IPO in the first place. Aren't they supposedly at peak popularity thanks to covid? Read the SEC filing again and see how much money they're losing
>>
>>24136645
How bout you delete your post and kindly shut the fuck up so we can all pump and dump this meme stock in peace.
>>
>>24136645
>Or will it just decline and stay stagnant after a couple years?
haha no one is gonna park their money into RBLX for years, we'll dump after a few months tops when the initial pump slows down and put our gains in the next new growth stock.

3) Convtroversy

That's what sells, gets millions of views and makes the most money.

Get a 18 y/o tight ass bitch giving stock advice that's edgy. Like shorting Tesla or buying leap PUTS on Pfizer when this vaccine starts causing penis shortening in 5 years.

Apparently I missed a lot in the beginning. Gma and mom wearing the symbol on the necklace. Mom's eulogy saying basically she didn;t know who any of the people at her mother's funeral are and she doesn't trust them. And two lines about nuts "we don't have the epipen". And mom's eulogy was basically "my mom could never admit she was wrong and basically she kept me at a distance my whole life"

Really very psychological, not mythological

While traditional EV relies on Solar/Electrical infrastructure to charge semi's, HYLN'S semi's use RNG (cow farts) to fuel their semi's. Actually reducing rather than nullifying carbon.

They're also not ran up like other ev's. Customers also love their product from their reviews.

They can transform an entire fleet. Hybridization of existing semi's while fulfilling new orders for the ERX (RNG semi).

Have to think long term though, will run up guaranteed late 2021. 2x+

Tesla is the original EV bubble stock, the meme that started it all. thinking it won't go down 70% at some point is pure delusion.
it's a bet against time, will you make money before the dump or will you get fucked?
>>
>>24136645

>needed to do an IPO

your thinking is backwards here, you launch IPOs when we are in a late phase of a market cycle and access to cash is easy. it has nothing to do with "need" it has to do with opportunity.
>>
>>24137215

it's a bad move, sugar is not a long term bet.
you might not see this if you live in US but in Europe the trend is crystal clear and you will catch up eventually.
