For example someone I know gets a few quid a month for allowing a corner pasture to go fallow because a threatened saxifrage like plant grows in abundance there. Perhaps if one bought land, formally zoned as agricultural use, bordering a waterway of known platypodal providence and reformed the property with native plants and allowed the creek to return to it's natural course. Perhaps you might even earn some financial support? I mean they pay someone to not mow a lichen every month, it's worth looking into?
