You actually need to observe the trichomes under magnification to determine when the plant is ready to harvest. This was the most nerve wracking part of the whole process for me. Look up pictures of this online.

First time grow, 6 plants, 30gal pots, 7.5lb yield dried. Gorilla glue #4, og kush, and harlequin x kimbo kush.

Immensely fun, but also an obscene amount of work every step of the way.

Clear trichomes = more cbd
Milky = mostly thc, best flavor and potency
Amber = mostly cbn

The more cbn the sleepier the stone
The clearer trichomes make for a more uplifting high.

Would a non-oscilating fan also work? Since with oscilating fans you can't have the fan more than 15 degrees forward, at least with the one i looked at.

Honestly, no clue. There's probably a fan you can get that doesn't have that limit. Positioning it lower may work as well.

Read an article saying for longevity it's best to get one that isn't oscillating. Also that pointing the fan directly on the plant is a bad idea, but rather there should be a breeze hanging at/over the top leaves; when the leaves vibrate a little bit, you know you're good and it's growth isn't completely stunted over a thick stem. Both are in harmony that way.

Also the fan should optimally run for 24/7, whilest the grow light has a fixed shedule of course.

I don't pay too much attention to any of this however, since i'm not growing weed, i won't grow anything of significant value, so i don't have to do everything perfect. Just trying to grow seedlings so they're ready for outside of behind the window.
