What would other animal skulls look like if they grew huge brains?
>>

Like ours basically. The ape face shape was moulded by the brain pushing stuff around and altering the position of jaw muscles. Smaller brained ancestors looked something like a cross between a cat and a squirrel. Microcephalic children have protruding upper jaws.

If we ever give dogs human intelligence we need to do so by introducing avian genes for neuron density and efficiency

Like this. They don't have a huge brain but they do have an enlarged skull volume due to hydrocephalus. Basically their brains got inflated like a balloon and the skull had to grow with it.

What about animals like birds and whales, whose bodies need to be aero/hydrodynamic?
>>
>>4466022
Whales have big heads already. Birds are unlikely to evolve big heads, but if they do, they'd just look like birds with big heads
>>
>>4466022
birds are just dinosaurs with much bigger brains

AKCHUALLY birds reorganized and shrunk their neurons to they could achieve greater cognition without increasing weight and energy requirements.
>>
>>4466071
have you ever seen dinosaur brains?
bird brains are like 100 times bigger by body mass or skull size.

Highly evolved neanderthal versus primitive sapien, I assume.

yes, also invention of agriculture shrunk human brain size.

This image sucks as it implies our brains are at their peak currently. Neanderthals and Early Modern Humans like Cro-Magnon had bigger brains than us.
Also, a sign of high intelligence is a high cranial vault. Some birds developed this convergently.

>In fishes no distinct cranial vault as such exists. Instead, the skull is composed of loosely jointed bones. The cranial vault as a distinct unit arose with the fusion of the skull roof and the endocranium on the early Labyrinthodonts.[2] In amphibians and reptiles the vault is rather small and inconspicuous, only forming proper vaults in mammals and birds.
Birds are reptiles with enlarged brains and they attained this convergently. A high vault and bigger brain is hyper-correlated with intelligence.

Cortex neuron count is the closer correlation to intelligence than brain size.
