Reminder that it's not funny or clever to keep captive cockatoos. The poor cunts can live for 70 miserable, anxious, isolated years in captivity, given no stimulation or socialisation and moved from place to place and owner to owner with no notice or explanation.
Same goes for all other parrots and all other birds, really.

That’s why you get two
>>
>>4424905
Most wild parrot are flocks not only two
People will recommend two because thats the minimum amount anyone can afford
No one can afford 50+ fucking parrots
so its scaled down to two for convince of the human not for the parrots true wellbeing
>>
>>4424912
Honestly i don't understand how can anyone accept knowing birds living in massive flocks and simultaneously accept owning two birds is ok. As if two birds are equal as a wild flock.
>>
>>4424912
>>4424914
Yeah but two is better than none
They’re happy for the most part since they pretty much own the house now
They even like to bathe with me
>>
>>4396656

Because the flocks are mainly just for safety in numbers. They form permanent pairs and don’t generally interact an enormous amount with the rest of the flock since flocks will split up and form together on the go

A young yellow crested cockatoo crash landed into my fence and I look him in and raised him for a bit. Every so often he comes back and chills on my table.

Every morning and afternoon these enormous flocks of cockatoos fly over my house. I'm talking 2000+ cockatoos in three groups. The groups are separated by about 10 minutes of time. Sometimes it seems like there are tens of thousands of cockatoos in each flock becsuse it can take 5 minutes for them to pass. He is one of the cockatoos in the flock. I bet he's happy with so many of his own kind.

It's always the same shit too, talking about caging them up and keeping them from flocks. None of these anons ever talk about the actual pains of dealing with these brats. (like the chewing)
Ultimately if you have the resources, time and money they're wonderful but too many people who buy them just actually want a decoration.
If you get one give the little guy the best life you possibly can they deserve it.
(pic related is my current little shithead)
