Post Cockatoos please. They are absolutely charming!
Wow! Thanks everyone this is splendid!
>>4396656Reminder that it's not funny or clever to keep captive cockatoos. The poor cunts can live for 70 miserable, anxious, isolated years in captivity, given no stimulation or socialisation and moved from place to place and owner to owner with no notice or explanation.Same goes for all other parrots and all other birds, really.
>>4397001>and all other birds, really. My chickens are perfectly happy

Whats some good cockatoo media
the ones with the yellow head feathers seem to be cooler than the all white ones.the all white ones just act like spergs.

is there a spazzier bird?
>>4396660No way, Liberace is back?
>>4410649only the all-white ones seem to act like total retards though.the others are usually just funny dudes.
>>4396748looks like david lynch
Why do their eyes look like that?
>>4409800Cats are an invasive species and are killing local populations of native birds. its not about protecting them from nature its about protecting them from cats which aren't even supposed to be in that area

>>4396724Can these two kinds breed?
>>4397001You can let them walk around your house like a dog.
Why are they such assholes?
>>4397001That’s why you get two
>>4424905Most wild parrot are flocks not only twoPeople will recommend two because thats the minimum amount anyone can affordNo one can afford 50+ fucking parrots so its scaled down to two for convince of the human not for the parrots true wellbeing
>>4424912Honestly i don't understand how can anyone accept knowing birds living in massive flocks and simultaneously accept owning two birds is ok. As if two birds are equal as a wild flock.
>>4424912>>4424914Yeah but two is better than none They’re happy for the most part since they pretty much own the house nowThey even like to bathe with me
>>4396656What do they look like when they come out of the egg? Do they have crests?
>>4397183You realize people can either like both or prefer corvids, but uh, is that not just human opinion? Did you ever think of that?
>>4405428>"Get that fucking camera out of my face!"
I love everything about these birds, best parrot. I just really like having full sets of fingers.Very conflicting.
What does it mean when your parrot repeatedly wavers it’s head back and forth
>>4426104Mine doesn't bite too hard.
>>4427803Mine does it when he's happy i think. He sees me and starts dancing side to side
>>4431591look at that cockajew
>>4424914Humans live in massive flocks as well and nobody can't stand each other. 2 bird is enough
>>4432048You are retarded
>>4424914Because the flocks are mainly just for safety in numbers. They form permanent pairs and don’t generally interact an enormous amount with the rest of the flock since flocks will split up and form together on the go
here, take this

>>4397183Nooooo don't fightI like both
>>4442190>>4447614Something about parrots with relaxed eyes makes me feel a great amount of second-hand comfort. >>4427803Probably either something akin to laughter, a stereotypy indicative of mental anguish, or a response to blocked or itching ears depending on context.

i have two cats, would a cockatoo make a good addition? Would they all get along? Cats are two years old.
>>4397136how can you compare retarded creatures like chickens to the animal geniuses parrots/cockatoos are?
A young yellow crested cockatoo crash landed into my fence and I look him in and raised him for a bit. Every so often he comes back and chills on my table.Every morning and afternoon these enormous flocks of cockatoos fly over my house. I'm talking 2000+ cockatoos in three groups. The groups are separated by about 10 minutes of time. Sometimes it seems like there are tens of thousands of cockatoos in each flock becsuse it can take 5 minutes for them to pass. He is one of the cockatoos in the flock. I bet he's happy with so many of his own kind.
>>4458067This is one of the pics I took of the cockatoos flying over but it doesn't even begin to show how many there are. I swear some of the groupings have ten thousand or more yellow crested cockatoos. They are insanely loud.
>>4458067>>4458074Here are some videos of the cockatoos. They do this every day. I like to watch them.https://files.catbox.moe/yuiq7y.mp4https://files.catbox.moe/q350nz.mp4https://files.catbox.moe/1widug.mp4
There's always one attention seeking loser who has to try to b8 people about how bad companion parrots are.
>>4459198Parrots are good companions but they belong outside with other parrots instead of forced to live in a cage
>>4459226Noooo he’ll dieeee
I was mauled by a cockatoo as a child. Ripped out my septum and split my upper lip in half. Still have the scar.
>>4396656I'd like them if they weren't so fucking loud
Are they the most chaotic animal?
>>4459198It's always the same shit too, talking about caging them up and keeping them from flocks. None of these anons ever talk about the actual pains of dealing with these brats. (like the chewing)Ultimately if you have the resources, time and money they're wonderful but too many people who buy them just actually want a decoration. If you get one give the little guy the best life you possibly can they deserve it.(pic related is my current little shithead)
are cockatoos common in australia? let's say i visit some cousins, would i just find a cockatoo flying around?
>>4466389Extremely common. Especially in suburban parks with a bit of forest in them, there can be hundreds of them
>>4410649do they have their legendary outbursts in the wild too?
>>4397183i love dem both so much
