>watch cute animal videos on YouTube
>eventually starts recommending me videos of animals eating other animals
>both in nature and people giving live rats to snakes and such

What the fuck, man. And these videos always have millions of views, too.

>And these videos always have millions of views, too.
People laugh uncomfortably at horror movies but they actually get a psychosexual thrill from seeing teenagers get killed.
>>
>>4305008
I’ve noticed this too. The comments are always full of the “it’s just nature” crowd. One of the worst I’ve seen was someone try to feed a baby crocodile to a pacman frog. It’s probably one of those sadist vore groups running the channels

>Puts rat in small glass enclosure with predator, assuring no escape
>"It's just nature bro, rats don't process things the way we do anyway"
Same here. Watch a couple of nice animal videos like magic tricks with monkeys then YT recommends gladiatorial death matches between "pets". At least the crushing videos seem discouraged now.
>>
>>4305008
>I noticed you like something something that's not a cat or dog
>would you like to see it getting torn open or people hunting it
>how about instructions on how to butcher it with graphic thumbnails
I think it's just they're trying so hard to get you to click on things to see more ads they don't really care what it is and if dumb or outraged people click on it who cares it's ad revenue.
>>

Probably this and appealing to kids I bet. Nothing makes more money than ad revenue from children, and kids seem less aware of gruesome shit.
Cickbait and outrageous stuff floods the interweb so much nowadays, it makes me wonder the psychological implications.
>>
>>4305022
>>4305133
>"it's just nature bro" crowd
Do you think people commenting that are sincere? I bounce between good faith and creeps.
>>
I reported about a dozen of these videos. Each one involving mammals getting eaten was removed, all frog and lizard videos remain live.
>>
Since it's largely third worlders on phones who watch that shit, the algorithm is probably thinking that they're high ad return content, so they're recommended more.
>>
>>4305157
I don't think it even intends to target children I think it just sees 2% of the people that see this video title and thumbnail click on it. Let's not show them .5% and 1.0%. Children are dumber than adults most of the time so they feed it, people with short attention spans feed it. I'm not so much concerned about the psychological implications as I am about the financial ones and why a product owned by the 4th richest company on the planet algorithms aren't more sophisticated and is ultimately following the philosophy of an amoeba.
>>
>>4305008
YouTube recommends what other people watch.
The YouTube viewer base is honestly very fucked up. Lots of sadists.
>>
>>4305301
I’m sure they are using people to test different algorithms. Google image search fluctuates. It start improving over time and then it get worse. I think they use the users clicks to train the AI and when it reaches an acceptable level they put a different AI to be trained. (you search an input and open the images that interest you so the AI know what was the right answer now). They probably do the same with youtube. They are using people to teach the AI what people want.
>>
>>4305008
I just wanted to watch care guides for pacman frogs to decide if I really want to own one or not and the results are instead full of fucked up animal battle royales where chinks put giant centipedes, snakes, frogs and tarantulas in a small box to see who eats who, and people trying to live feed their pacman guinea pigs and octopuses.
>>
>>4305360
People who want to own bugs or lizards or frogs as pets ARE fuckin' weird and get boners over that sort of thing and I'm tired of pretending they aren't.
>>
And yeat you eat animals. Very curious.
>>
>>4305008
Lucky you. I always end up in lectures, sometimes not even related to animals (just math and science).
>>
>>4305184
Either way, putting a pretty animal in an effective steel cage match against a predator is hardly natural. Sometimes the prey wins and kills their "pet", but they usually kill the prey anyway and get a replacement. Either they don't get attached, or they can't.
>>
>>4305022
Im part of that crowd
I think that brutality and sadism is part of our nature, as much as love and empathy. Thats why I think is useless to rebel against this urge.

Wild animals will suffer and will die being devorared by predators, having us part of it or not
>>
mmm mmm mmmm, daddy likes this young thing what's her name and what's her game if a fella can ask
>>
>>4305504
>Wild animals will suffer and will die being devorared by predators, having us part of it or not
Issue with that is the animals in the video often aren’t wild animals to begin with. Not exactly natural for a frog from Africa to be put in a glass box and fed domesticated rodents from europe
>>
>>4305504
>It's just nature
Every fucking time without fail
>>
>>4305504
There's plenty of philosophy and psychology about the urge to see/make cute things die, but there are better ways to satisfy that bloodlust. Go watch a hardcore wrestling match if you want to see something bleed for our amusement. Leave the animals that practically get deus ex machina'd to a grim fate out of it.

If the sale of meat was banned and in order to eat it you have to hunt it/raise it yourself I think A LOT less people would eat meat and those that did would eat a lot less of it. Which maybe is how it should be. We didn't evolve to be eating steaks 3 times a day, but our meat consumption is through the roof.
>>
>>4305669
a lot of people would fucking starve
>>
>>4305669
>We didn't evolve to be eating steaks 3 times a day,
Depends on where you live man. Our african ancestors certainly did (and many african tribes to this day do) eat almost exclusively meat. It's supremely easy in some places of the world to just stalk a gazelle until it's tired out, every other day, year round.
If you're talking about europeans, then no, eating meat daily was definitely part of the game for 99% of europeans. The existence of seasons really make it hard to hunt enough to eat meat daily, if not impossible, and especially during the middle ages the average medieval peasants home did not have fork or knife in it because all they ate was oat gruel, fruit, the occasional undesirable cut from a work animal that died, and later on milk products.

Which is to say, as far as we evolved in africa, we DID evolve to be eating steaks 3 times a day. Europeans just ended up making do.
>>
>>4305672
literally what are you talking about?
>>4305677
Maybe, but like I said they actively hunt the animal and use all parts of it to subsist for the next day. That's a lot different than eating chicken nuggies for breakfast, a hamburger for lunch, and pork chops for dinner every day.
>>
>>4305669
You will eat the bugs
>>
>>4305504
>t. zoosadist
>>
>>4305684
Most people are too stupid to even grow a plum tree let alone raise something as easy as chicken.

>>4305669
European nobles definitely ate a lot of meat, since meat is very easy to preserve and very nutritious. The peasants eating gruel was kind of a social construct. Their poverty was enforced, they weren't allowed to hunt and their livestock was property of the crown. If you moved away from the cultural centers of that shit you found people eating more and more meat.

And that is the model for our current society. The many work very hard and have very little that actually matters so the few can have what is important. Wagies are modern day serfs. if you have to work a full time job just to afford to live, you are a medieval peasant, but worse off in some ways despite the nicer food and health care. The peasant had more free time.
>>
>>4305008
The ones in the wild don't bother me as long as there's no tampering going on, that shit's just the way it goes out there. It's the ones where people put animals that would never even interact in nature, much less fight each other to the death/eat each other, together in a tiny box with nothing else and harass them until one kills the other. I report them when I see them but it feels like fighting a major uphill battle, especially when it concerns reptiles or invertebrates or other animals that aren't as traditionally "cute" or whatever the fuck

One of the originals of those YouTube channels was called JonahVore, the channel got banned around 2012 or 2013 but there are some reuploads. He had a method to feed creatures to snakes backwards, so you could see their face go down the snakes throat. He would upload “soon to be eaten” videos of rabbits and such in cat carriers.
>>
>>4305504
Same. I love animals, and I find it fascinating to watch animals hunt and kill other animals in the wild. I prefer not to partake myself, I have no desire to hurt any animal, but it literally IS just nature bro.
>>
>>4305008
Shit, I just fell on one of these, a little serval being killed by a lion...
>>
>>4305008
when I was a kid I saw videos of animals fucking in my dad's youtube recommendations.

This is how I found out I like to watch Asian people dismember a gigantic fish. They just take a giant fish and take it apart

>>4305008
>watch animals videos
>get suggested animals doing animal things, like eat other animals
Were they videos of animals that you found cute, or where they explicitly titled and tagged 'cutesie, awww, it thinks it's people'.
>>
>>4306096
A common trend is giving rabbits, cats, and puppies, to large snakes or crocodiles. They specifically pick animals common in cutesy type videos. A lot of cute videos use white rabbits with black fur around their eyes, so the feeding videos copy by taking the same type of thing and just tossing it in with a large python. It's always very graphic but none of it is done in a "natural" way, it's kinda like those weird videos from some weird third world country where people put fish in mud and pretend it's a nature fact video

>>
>>4306467
There’s plenty of those videos tho
>>
>>4305935
We’re not talking about animals in the wild, we’re talking about the videos where they put 10 hamsters in a box with a bullfrog that are cruel to both prey and predator
>>

yea i recently watched a giant centipede eating a mouse alive and it was fucked up but I couldn't look away
>>

Whites and sub-saharan africans are not the same species.
>>
>>4306719
you still have a common African ancestors even if you want to classify yourself as a different species now
>>
>>4305504
>>4305935
You are genuinely fucking retarded
Please explain to me what part of dropping live snakes and centipedes and such into fish tanks just to watch the fish eat it, for example? The same with frogs. It's not "nature", it's someone putting two animals in a cage and waiting to see which one kills the other first
>>
That's not even a wtf. I have a channel, few hundred subs; it's of our pets. When I click to see what other content my subs watxg and type of people, they're always animals having sex, and they're subbed to animals having sex channels. My animals do not have sex :(

I enjoy watching animals eat other animals alive, in the wild, in captivity, doesn't matter to me
When I do so, I like to imagine myself in the prey's position
that vid with the komodo dragons and the pregnant deer is an all-time classic
I love animals, i'm not a sadist. I just enjoy watching shit getting eaten and imagining getting eaten myself

>>
>>4305008
But you have to like animal cruelty, why else would you click on a cute cat video?

That would be like saying you don't want to see road rage if you like motorcycles. You want helmet cam footage of someone getting out of their car and screaming and punching at you.

Why would you click on a philosophy video if you didn't want to be recommended Jordan Peterson?

And no matter what you like to watch,

You always want to remember being raped, right? You always want to go right back to moment, so why wouldn't you like it every other recommended video was about rape?
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/channel-blocker/nfkmalbckemmklibjddenhnofgnfcdfp?hl=en

It's available on firefox, too. I have it on opera. It's the only way I have to even use the damned site.

Unless its literally illegal, which iirc feeding videos arent because theyve got plausible deniability about what the intent of the video is, youtube wont give a shit about reports.
A lot of those "baby elsa farts on spiderman" shit fetish videos are repulsive too and youtube doesnt give a fuck, doesnt even age restrict them.
At this point I wonder how many actual humans even work in their moderation team.

>>
Livefeeding for the sake of the animal isnt essentially bad, but this shit is fucking evil. And its alwasy goddamn Pacman Frogs.
Do they breed so much of them in those shithole countries where those videos are produced? Even the cheapest one of those things costs like 80 Euros in Germany, never could afford one.

Worst rabbithole is this shit where a Pajeet or other south east asian jungle monkey dyed dead food and pet fish in terrible eyesoring colours and does stop motion with them; and its under the category "Youtube Kids". Fucking evil satanic shit.

You can report those channels to Youtube for animal cruelty, at least the ones of people eating them alive. Won't stop the people doing it, but if the channels get closed enough times they won't be making money off it at least.
