theres a cat that lives outside that has all 4 legs but only walks on 3 of them. it keeps its front left paw curled up at all timesthe neighbor said the cat was injured at a young age and after that never walked on that paw again. the injury was a year ago apparentlyis it possible that kitty could be fixed if someone took it to a vet, or is it a lost cause
Is she cute?
>>4261876I think it really depends on how bad the injury is. If it's been a year since the injury and it's been avoiding using the paw then it's most likely something that the cat can't heal itself so a vet is obviously the only choice. But that doesn't mean it's a lost cause, it might be only a minor surgery that's needed. Are thinking of taking the cat in to a vet yourself?
>>4261865is this a /kot/ porno shoot?
>>4261881i feel really bad for the kittybut i dont want to abduct it because technically it belongs to the neighbor as a permanently outside cat
>>4261906Ah, from your wording I thought it was a stray neighbourhood cat, not someone's outdoor cat. Maybe you could offer to take the cat to the vet? Although I doubt they'd agree to it, they'd probably take it as you saying they're bad owners. Alternatively you can report the neglect to an organisation, I don't know who it would be for where you are. (Here in Australia it would be RSPCA)
I have very vivid and real memories of my cat that doesn’t make sense. These memories are from my current house but my cat passed away before I moved here. The first memory is how I would rest his head on my face while hugging him and later he would come rest his head on my face by himself. The second one is he is on my bed and I give him a big hug.At first these memories were burned on my mind and I was convinced that it actually happened. I remember exactly those moments when it happened. But when I think about it chronologically it doesn’t make any sense.Am I going crazy? Is my old cat giving me visitations
>>4261906It doesn’t belong to them if it’s permanently outside on whatever property it chooses. Its a free cat. Enjoy.

>go downstairs>MEOWMEOWMEOWMEOWMEOW>cat will meow every few seconds when i'm around, glancing at one of her toys>even after i play with her she'll do the same if i'm making food, watching me the entire timethis is the chattiest cat i've ever seen in my life
Little Buryat brought down the curtains on top of me last nightShe likes to climb
>>4261876Almost definitely a fracture, and at this point it's never going to back to normal. A vet could still look at whether the injury is likely to worsen over time, and whether that can be prevented via surgery, but if it needs surgery it's not going to be cheap, and if it doesn't what's the point in going?
>>4261955In psychology there's a thing called false memory

These two will go from hissing when one looks at the other funny to this in like ten minutes.
>>4261955He still loves you. You too. My cat died in 2018. Tomorrow is her birthday.
lol
How do you deal with cat flatulence?Little Buryat farts like crazy and it smells like shit.Doesn't seem that there are any other symptoms like nausea
i'm getting my first kitten/cat soon. he's going to be 15 weeks old when i get him.he's a siberian male, the only cat breed that i've never been allergic too.the breeder recommends to feed him ad libitum with royal canin maine coon kitten dry food for a year.i've read online that dry food is bad, that wet food is a lot better for hydration.i was planning on buying a drinking fountain for him to drink more.what should i feed him?
>>4263128What do you feed her, and how much food do you give her daily? Also she looks a bit scrawny. Something seems off.Is she done with deworming/vax etc.?>>4263162I give my cats dry and wet food (with crushed pills to help boost the immune system because they're old kots), and I've never had problems. What matters is the quality of food, a good brand makes the difference. However a cat that eats exclusively dry food needs to drink more, so a fountain can help. I collect the water from the shower and recycle it for toilet flushing, and when it is in the bucket sometimes my cats like to drink from there for a change.
>>4263128Natural weaning, better food, patience.
>>4262258They look related, are they siblings?
Noone adopted my cat's siblings and now they're feralAt least someone is going to sterilise them, but i feel guilty for not taking them in myself(despite the fact that the cat i got desperately needed to be separated from his siblings)How do i deal with this feeling?
If there was a worst pets list, cats would be right up there with rabbits
>>4263244>>4263247She seems to be gaining weight, I feed her 80 grams of wet food in the morning and evening and is on dry food for midday, both are baby oriented I'm not sure if she is completely free from worms, but 2 weeks ago she tested negative for parasites at the vet
the kot is lost...
And so it begins again...>Nigga just stop picking up strays!I about fucking lose it when I see a dead one in the street, how am I supposed to feel if I saw this one dead RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE??
>>4263468>that eyeWell it won't be long anyways.
>>4263479Yeah those corneal ulcerations are a death sentence!
>>4263162You can let dry food soak up water for hydration. It's still has way more plant based ingredients than good canned food but the water intake issue is optional.>>4263434>She seems to be gaining weightThis is the most important thing with young cats. As long as she's eating a lot and playing some minor digestive issues are nothing to worry about.

My cat has been peeing in various spots in my house. I clean it with vinegar and enzyme spray thoroughly, have added lot's of scratching posts, pheromones, play with him daily, I have 3 litterboxes with and without lids, and fucking still he pees almost every day. I've been doing this for 2 months, no uti or other shit after visiting the vet. He's very anxious and the smallest things will make him piss everywhere. What do I even do at this point? I have never owned a cat that does this.
>>4263582Don't worry, her URI has cleared up and she's a fucking mile a minute.I think she's gonna be very floofy.

>>4263611No he's neutered, he's only 3 and we do have another cat who is also neutered. We play with her and haven't noticed any aggression between them. As I was typing this I just watched him piss in the same spot I just fucking cleaned with enzyme.
>>4263614This sounds like a case for Jackson Galaxy
>>4263676I just had an idea, what if I had him stay at my moms until this next vet appointment comes up to get him on prozac. This way when he comes back, it'll be new to him? I don't know what to do.
>>4263614Put one of the litter boxes in that spot
>>4263401They're gonna be fine as sterilized feral cats, the sterilization will avoid a lot of troubles they would have gone through. There are so many cats up for adoption every year in the summer season, not all of them end up adopted. It's not your fault.

My kitten has diarrhea (supposedly due to change in the cat food as the one he usually ate was delayed in shipment). Anything i should do for him to recover faster or will he be fine?
My cat still won't give the rest of my family the time of day, but is absolutely obsessed with me. Is this normal for a cat that's just over a year old, and how can I get her to trust them more?
>>4264309This is the most kiked-up post I've ever seen on /an/
>>4264617It's ultimately on them to understand how to act around a cat.
>>4262238Not according to the APA
After two days of constant hissing whenever she crossed paths with the new kitten my older cat now just swats at him from time to time (with the occasional hiss when he surprises her). She hits hard but hasn't drawn blood so I'm positive there are no claws involved. Would you say this is an improvement and that she's only showing him who's the sheriff around these parts?
Anon, here's the plan
>>4264309Literally have second kitten from wild breed and you are full of shit simply because you can't raise it to a good cat. Of course cats are destructive and full of energy, they are fucking predators not rabbits, after they run out of energy they are pure angels
how do kittens play with each other without butchering themselves? Isn't cat skin more delicate than human?
>>4264592If the problem is just adjusting to the new food I guess he will recover fast by himself. You could try to help with a fiber supplement powder for pets like Fortiflora.>>4264925Yes, it's an improvement. She wants to assert dominance and establish a hierarchy. If all goes well she will start ignoring the kitten and eventually accept him, maybe they'll never get along to the point of playing and grooming each other.>>4265084The fur softens the impact and protects them from serious damages, that's why they look like they're fighting even when they're playing like good friends.

My cat follows me around a lot but one really weird thing is he watches me like a hawk when I do dishes. I don't have a dishwasher so sometimes it will take me a while and he just sits in the middle of the kitchen staring at me the whole time. My sink is in a corner area so maybe it has to do with how my back is exposed? It's every single time.
Someone in an earlier /kot/ was shitting on friskies wet food. What affordable wet food should I get for my cat instead? Her main food is dry Hill's Science diet 2-8 yr old.

Cozy sink kot.
my kot has been throwing up food. when he does it looks pretty undigested, like almost whole pieces of kibble in a moist sausagehes been doing this for at least the past 2 weeks, but it doesnt seem to happen every dayon friday and saturday i found some of his vomit contained packaging tape. hes always had this strange affinity for it and tries to eat it when its around. i was moving apartments recently with my gf and warned her to not let tape be accessible around kitty, but clearly i was ignored...he looks a bit thinner now so i weighed him. back in may when i had to take him to the vet he was 15 pounds. today he is 12im at work all day so i havent been able to monitor how much hes eating vs comiting, or if hes pooping (we have multiple cats)should i be worried?

He's fucking dead frens. They said we had to euthanize because of a blood clot. He started limping and we took him in thinking he sprained it jumping down from the couch or something. 13 years old. >>4266023That phat tail should be illegal.>>4266357>>4266410It's dry food of cheap brands that is problematic; wet food of almost any brand, except when it isn't prescription food, isn't going to fuck up a cat's organs in the same way dry food from a bad brand does. Dry food is processed in a different way and can contain shit that a cat doesn't need, sometimes toxic shit too that can be the cause of health problems in the years.
>>4266588Well, first off remind your gf to not let the fucking tape around. Seems to me that he is the typical cat that eats too fast and throws up as a result, many such cases. >it only took like three days for my cunt of a cat to accept the new kittenFeels good, I do have to break them up sometimes because I kind of taught her to play rough by accident but oh well.
I got an 8 week old kitten three days ago. The first day he was shy and didn't do much except explore. I bought him kitten milk and kitten dry food and he only ate the dry food when I mixed in a tiny bit of cream sauce from my dinner. (I know this is bad but he didn't eat the whole day and I was worried so I gave him some of the sauce which was just meat juices, cream and nothing else really) and he fucking devoured his food.Next day he was full of energy but only drank his kitten milk and water.Today he was full of energy the whole day playing with his new toys but I had a nap and when I woke up he started throwing up half a tea spoon of white fluid about 5 times. He's now resting on the chair but it's weird to see him go from going mental to throwing up and looking depressed. I bought him 3 types of wet food and some sour cream to entice him to eat but he hasn't eaten anything yet.I'm pretty sure it's the heat that fucked him up because my apartment is pretty hot especially because I can't open the windows fully because I don't want him jumping out and there's a heatwave here, any ideas on how to get him to drink some water and eat?
>>4267180It wasn't your friend's fault. Kitten was born with a poor health and in the middle of a cold winter, all of that had irreparably weakened her. :(Also her birth defect makes me think that she was probably left behind by the mom. Thank you for saving her, anon.Who knows if her fate would have been different if she stayed with you, nobody can tell. It's no use brooding over it. You gave her a home, blankets, warmth and spared her from a slow, painful death.>>4267201Good to read, it's so nice when progresses are quick and neither you nor the cats are stressed.
>>4267359The kitten arrived just 3 days ago, give him some time to make himself at home. He's of course not completely at ease.>I bought him 3 types of wet food and some sour cream to entice him to eat but he hasn't eaten anything yet.You do NOT have to change his food randomly, quickly and so many times. Replacing food all at once without a slow transition to the new food can give cats an upset stomach, vomit and diarrhea. Stick with one or two types of food per type (wet and dry) if you want his diet to vary. Food intolerance might also be a thing but I doubt it. Kittens' stomachs simply are sensitive. He will eat and drink by himself once he's completely comfortable in the house and around you. You could try to direct his attention to the food bowl by playing with his toys next to it.
>>4267413Thanks for the advice bro. I feel the same way about the whole let him settle in thing but at the same time I was worried today when he started throwing up and went from zooming around to looking miserable. He's on my lap now with the window open (so I know he wont jump out) and he's back to being cute and happy so i'm pretty sure he just got way too hot earlier and it fucked him up. We're going through a big heatwave here which is rough on humans let alone kittens

How do I get my cat to be friendlier to house guests? She follows them around hissing and carrying on even if they've done nothing to her. She's fine with myself and my missus, most of the time. Gets a bit cranky on the odd occasion, but most of the time she's on our laps or coming up for a pat. But she just can't tolerate strangers. This has been since we moved house, prior to that she was fine with guests.
>>4267768Got a better idea?
>>4267866When guests show up have them let her smell them and offer a treat

i know this is unlikely, but anyone have any ideas on how to prevent my two cats from going out the front gate at night?they are indoor/outdoor cats and love going outside, especially at night. we have a big front yard, but sometimes they go outside the gate and onto the road. We live on a quiet street so it's hopefully not too risky, but we lost a male cat about 20 years ago after it got hit by a car so I'd prefer to minimize the risk.indoor only is not happening.they always escape through a horizontal opening at the bottom left corner of the gate.
>>4267909Lock them inside the house at night. That's it.
>>4267914No.
>>4267920That's literally all you can do. I did the same with mine. They mowed and mowed but gave up. Why just at night and not during the day? Do vehicles only drive at night where you live?
>>4267920Let them play outside during daytime, they will still have several hours of leisure time to release their energies. You aren't taking their freedom away if you keep them in at night.Your cats (and pretty much all cats) love going outside more at night because that's when they are mostly active and hunt. But this increases the risks of injuries or even death.Another option is building a catio in your yard.
>>4267920The cats dont care how you think they careThey naturally roam and then they want to go where they went again. Its pretty mindless. They have no poetic appreciation for the outdoors. If you keep them inside they will forget they ever went outside eventually especially if you buy some cat gym stuff that will create new territory.
First time having a cat with longer hair. Sometimes (not too often but it happens) after he poops a bit of poop will stick to his hair and he will wipe his ass across the floor and furniture to get it off. My fucking cat loves chewing on wires. I have a ton of them, especially since I work from home. What is the /an/-approved way of stopping a cat from chewing on wires?I've tried a mesh sheath like in pic related, but it's too thick and unwieldy for most situations, and actually caused one of my chargers to fray and start sparking. Also tried spraying the wires with vinegar, but that didn't seem to deter her. So far, the best solution I have is draping cheap bath towels over all the cables, but that's not always feasible, and it looks goddamn ugly. Might also be a fire hazard (though less of one than having the wires all chewed up).

My cat is obsessed with my gf. When she wakes up in the morning, she specifically goes and meows at her to wake up and feed her, even though she's fine and I feed her 9/10 times. Even when I fell asleep on the couch, the cat went to our room to yell at my gf.

Alright real talk /kot/, I have this cat that I'm really tempted to get rid of, what should I do? Almost everybody I've contacted doesn't want it, don't want to take it to a shelter where they can charge me and then charge someone else for it (among other ridiculous stuff they do regarding dogs and dog applicants), and I can't just set it free for various reasonsJust tired of looking at him, would rather have a stuffed animal than a lifeless pet. I say this as someone who had to take care of a dying dog months ago and it was not fun
My cat keeps pissing in the car grass, thus killing it as soon as it growsAny ideas how to remedy this?
I'm reading up on leash training cats and some of the stuff is making me legitimately angryThey're animals, their primary function should be to go outside and run around. Do people seriously just let their cats lounge around indoors and do nothing? No wonder some of them are so boring
>>4269858*Cat grass
My cat is having a bad day. He went to the vet today and I also chose today to start harness training him. Poor guy can't catch a break!

>>4269872Mine started doing really well on a leash until he randomly decided to start flopping over during walks. It's really making me want to get rid of him because in all honesty he isn't that great when indoors either. Paid nothing for him and he does nothing most of the day so it's not like I'll feel it when he's gone

>>4269913I mostly got it for easier long car rides because he stresses himself out in a carrier crying. He does a lot better out of one but I wanted him to have limited mobility so he isn't crawling under brake pedals and such. Harness + leash seemed like the best idea and if he does well with it for walking that's a plus. Then again, I like saving money on flea meds so idk if I want him outside much.
I love this guy. Step dad used to be a dick, he beat the shit out of me one night and my mother got this guy off my sister after sending the step dad to sleep on the sofa. He hated cats and left after we got this guy cause we said we'd report him to the police for trying to throw him out by the tail and throwing a kitten at a wall. I'll always feel like shit for making this little guy go through that right after being seperated from his mother. To try make up for it with and took him with me when I moved out and he gets 4 meals a day, a weekly catnip session and free range of the apartment. He got me and my mother a better life and I owe it all to him. There might be thousands if not millions of tabby cats but he'll always be my favourite.

>>4270137That is actually a really good question, I still haven't figured it outTrying to get rid of the little brat but he keeps comng back like a bad cold. Wish the thing would just die already
My cat is fat. Vet said to feed him 200 calories for weight loss. Fed him 200 calories daily according to what his bag of food says... He gained 2 lbs! Is this just because of the carbs in dry food? Or do the bags lie? He gets treats rarely and its only 1 or 2, usually just pieces of his kibble because he loves it. Switching him to more wet food to see if it helps even though it's expensive.
>>4270394Someone else is feeding them. If this can happen someone else can also feed him something deadly.
>>4270338cats have evolved smaller brains so bugs that get stuck in one ear can find their way out through the other. they do have autism fits when a bug crawls on their brain though.
>>4270398He's an indoor cat so that isn't happening. There is one other person in the house but he does not feed the cat. Maybe I'm just retarded and didnt do the math right. I was feeding him 1/2 cup of solid gold indoor cat food (with 1/2 to 1 cup water added). I reduced this by 1/4 when I noticed he looked fatter. I'm now feeding him 1/4 a cup of the dry and 1.2 oz of shredded meats. Which is supposedly only about 130 cals. Maybe he is getting into some source of people food but I haven't noticed anything out of place and he's been gaining over a few months.
>>4270394My parents used to have a fat cat (i want tonsay he reached 24lbs, but am unsure). He wasn't an over eater, so we don't know how. He just died the other week, 18 years, his mother is stoll alive and alone now fug. Anyway, Fat Fat rapidly lost Wright maybe 3 years ago. My parents never got him checked but my mom had the feeling he had diabetes. Idfk, but obese cats seem to do fine. The poor fuck was even confined to underneath the bed too because my parents' piece of shit chihuahuas. Dude was always fat, hence his name Fat Fat.
>>4270434He's not that fat at least. I adopted him at 13lbs and now he is 15. He was certainly a house cat at some point in his life and became a stray for some reason. He could very well have been really fat at some point and lost weight being a stray. I worry about reducing his food intake too much because I don't want him to be nutrient defecent. I try to play with him 20-30 mins a day but sometimes he won't chase and just flops over. He entertains himself with stuff too sometimes like chasing his tail. He has some other health issues so I really don't want them to get worse from being fat.
>>4268102I like his colours, cute
>>4270452When was the last time he had bloodwork? The obesity may be a consequence of some other problem.
>>4270453>his
>>4270468I only adopted him in March, so the shelter did bloodwork for him which came back clean. He's already around 7. Had urinary issues in the past because he's had PU surgery at some point. So he could have been obese at some point and gotten issues from that. He was also adopted at some point and returned for financial reason and "gender confusion" lol. I'm actually waiting on results for a UTI, but the vet thinks he has FIC so that's a delicate situation already. Not much you can really do about that one unfortunately. He's a REALLY good kitty so I want to try my best for him.

My family has outdoor cats. They recently took in a new one, and at home everything is fine, the cats tolerate each other. But when they're outside, one of the toms will not let the new cat back into the house. He is well-trained and overall obeys commands but in that specific situation when the new cat tries to get back inside he fixates so hard on attacking her that he ignores everything else. Why are black cats such bros?
im so annoyed with shitty owners. my friends roommate has one of the friendliest cats i've ever met (had cats all my life), he comes to greet me every day i go over there as im riding up on my bike. on day 2 of him not coming up to me, i asked if anyone had seen him, my friend was like 'he's gone', he supposedly jumped out of the car near a store down the street. he never even got out to try and get him, just assumed he knew his way from the store. i had someone post to faceberg in the local lost & found animal groups, 2 weeks go by. it was my mother who sent me a listing someone else posted - "extremely friendly cat found", and theres his big dumb face. he wasn't far but much further than he's ever gone by himself, so in the end i'm happy we got him back. but the fact that his owner didn't want to do anything for his own cat is just really sad and aggravates me. he's young so he wasn't fat anyways but you can tell he lost a bunch of weight, so i've been buying him tuna every single day. i recently lost my cat so maybe i'm projecting that loss onto this guys cat, but he's such a sweetheart and was really lost. he never goes more than 3 houses away in any direction unless we take the dog for a walk, then he'll follow us.
>>4272226I have no idea but im getting myself one the second i can, they are either ridiculously inept at cat things or complete masterminds even at human things.
>>4272487Ask the owner if you can take the cat from his hands. Win-win for everyone.
Any savannah cat owners here?My gf went on a trip to Morocco with the girls for 2 months and left me to watch her F4. A few days later the cat started pooping on the floor instead of the box and has been doing it for more than a month now.We have a big high walled poopbox for her where I've tried putting the poop in the box and putting her in it to cover it up and she always does the needful. I also keep the box relatively clean and she pees in it like a normal cat. I also tried putting valerian extract in the box but that didn't help. I've also tried multiple types of sand and wood pellets but it doesn't help. Currently she has some sort of lavender scented sand.
>>4272545>either ridiculously inept at cat thingsYeah, my black kot is atypical and weird.

>>4272582I will try putting in unscented sand but wouldn't she also avoid peeing in the box if she didn't like the smell? We already have 2 boxes (added a 3rd one recently but that one was completely ignored). My dumbass of a cat just came back after he had a fight with another cat with wound on his head by his ear. I can't bring it to the vet because it's late at night here, I cleaned his wound, he wanted to eat something and then found a place to sleep. It's not the first time this happens obviously but it doesn't make me less worried. I'm sorry for venting.
>>4274359He's gonna be fine, good thing you cleaned the wound. If he gets into fights because he isn't neutered then it's your fault. Also you're not smart for letting him out if this already happened in the past.
>>4261906if it's been limping around for that long and stays outside the owner is a piece of shit anyways. if they just feed it, fine... but that doesn't sound like an "owner." either way, could be fixable or not. cats who fight all the time with other cats can limp off and on regularly due to bites or scratches. A cat in my neighborhood who always starts fights at 3am limps every other week. I also once saw a feral that damn near limped for an entire year, and now he doesn't have a limp. they can also get stuff stuck in their foot that they can't get out themselves, or a festering grown that can easily be fixed by a vet. only way to find out is to take him to a vet.
>>4274401festering growth.
>>4274391He's neutered but unfortunately he is mostly an outdoor cat so I do let him out after he eats dinner, I usually can hear him when he's about to start a fight, but not this time unfortunately.
I'm seriously considering getting a cat in the next month but I've never had a cat beforeHow much do I lose from not getting a kitten? It's going to be an indoor cat so I'm wondering if I'd be better off getting a kitten so that the chances of it having toxoplasmosis is much lower than if I just adopt an adult cat?I have a lot of plants around the house, will this be a big deal?Basically I want a cat who i can pat sometimes, play with, give catnip to, who will walk around and do things and is ok just going off by itself and staring out of windows
>cat has a weird lump on the back of it's neckI can't believe I've not noticed it until now. It's quite big. It must have been growing for a while so I don't get it, or maybe it just grew really fast. He's an old boy. Will get him checked out. Anyone had experience with this sort of thing before?
>having breakfast>cat comes into my room and starts meowing at me>he's already been fed, usually doesn't make a fuss in the morning >decide to follow him>he leads me into the laundry, find washing powder all over the floor>cat has evidently knocked the box over>he sits there and watches as I clean it upMaybe I'm giving him too much credit, but I like to think he's a smart kot

>>4272576Cats are strange sometimes. My cat got a UTI and was pissing on the floor for a few weeks, even after the UTI went away. I got frustrated and yelled at her about it, which from experience you should never do to a cat. But right after that she went back to her litter boxes. Understanding cat psychology is difficult, and I've had cats all my life.
good night /kot/
Sup guys my 18 year old lady is showing signs of breathing trouble. She's has been very healthy until the last 2 days, strong appetite, wanting to go outside, and jumping up on things. Now she's having trouble breathing, her stomach is churning whenever she exhales, her mouth is partially open and she's only really moving to get water. I'm hoping that this is a respiratory infection but obviously she's 18 and it's could be organ failure, all recent trips to the vet have said that she was in pretty good health for her age. I'm waiting for the vet to open (3 hrs), is there anything I can do to ease her pain in the meantime?
>>4274540>How much do I lose from not getting a kitten? An adult cat comes with a baggage of experiences and a formed personality. For a first time owner it might be more difficult to deal with a cat whose past is unknown because its behavior inside a house would be unpredictable, that's why people often send the cat back to the shelter and would rather get a kitten.I'd recommend a cat that is just about to end its kitten phase, and that stayed with the mom the necessary time to learn socialization (10-12 weeks).>It's going to be an indoor cat so I'm wondering if I'd be better off getting a kitten so that the chances of it having toxoplasmosis is much lower than if I just adopt an adult cat?Cats can get tested for harmful diseases like Fiv and Felv. Toxo is widespread but not so much like /an/ want you to believe. Also a human can get infected only under particular conditions; just don't neglect the hygiene of your cat and the house and literally dont eat its poop.>I have a lot of plants around the house, will this be a big deal? Some plants can be toxic for animals, do a quick search of the variety of plants you own.>Basically I want a cat who i can pat sometimes, play with, give catnip to, who will walk around and do things and is ok just going off by itself and staring out of windowsSo you want a cat that does cat things. Good luck with that.
>>4274547A week ago while petting my cat I noticed a small lump on his leg. It is quite small but I'm monitoring it. He's under therapy for another issue so for now I don't want to further stress him for now.I hope all goes well with your cat.>>4274602He's satisfied when he sees his slave doing the hard work.>>4274718So what, it's a cute thing and she complimented you. >>4274540You lose a guarantee that your cat will be well socialized. Well socialized cats are basically lazy and lovably dumb dogs. They are extremely affectionate, trainable, and tolerant. They don't hide from strangers or freak out and shit, piss, vomit, and get stuck on fridges when stressed. Socialization is 90% of the cat's domestication, the other 10% is a smaller brain and body and absent fight or flight instincts. Black cats are best for this because they're a good bit smarter than t*bbies. The polar opposite is the stereotypical mass media cat or traditional cat as they were before spay and neuter so most were kept outside and raised each other among other cats. Difficult to get along with and puts a 1/2" deep gash down your arm for touching its belly and is generally an awful pet that doesn't belong indoors. Not really an awful pet, just not your pet, not anyones pet, and never will be.

I really want a kitten but I don't want pay some stranger a rehoming fee when there are cats outside. The problem is I don't even know where cats hide their kittens. I have a bunch of open fields full of trees, grass, bushes near my house. Sure wish they'd come and just birth their kittens here in my yard. I leave food out that they eat and I have a bunch of trees, bushes, and little shelters I built for them here.
>>4275155I adopted from a local shelter and the fee I had to pay was nominal, and most of it was just a deposit for getting him neutered, which they did at the shelter when he was old enough.
