Gotta be one of the coolest/strangest animals

I quite like these animals and I wish they did better in aquariums.

seahorses are pretty dope

Some animals, like seahorses, seriously make me doubt the theory of evolution. I've watched a video about how they may have evolved and it still seems farfetched to me. How does natural selection even create such a body plan?

The males carry the babies in their bellies.

Why?

They look more like a cross between a duck and a shrimp than a horse to me. Too late to change the name?

Because it's funny like female hyena penises and venomous platypus spurs.

When you actually see them stretching out horizontally, they look pretty much like any other pipefish. A seahorse could be thought of as just a pipefish that learned to anchor itself with its tail.
