I was a NEET and I was with my bun 24/7 for 10 years, never had her in a cage and she always fallowed me around the house, every time I went to the bathroom she waited for me outside at the door, when I had to leave the house she stood by the door till I got home, when I finally got a job after 10 years and only came home once a week, she started to rarely eat and got really weak and died after 2 months.
I thought it was coincidence because she was old.

A friend introduced me to someone who owned a pair. Their hind feet were basically dyed yellow from droppings and the main living area where the cage was reeked of rabbit feces. Are all of them like this or was it just that the owner is terrible?

My girlfriend has two bunnies, but sadly one of them isn't very social and seems to be completely terrified of me and her. I have tried feeding her special snacks from my hand and seeing if she'll let me pet her, but it almost seems like she is traumatized by something. It can take a lot to get a rabbit to trust. They know they are prey and they don't want to be ate, so try to always interact with them through that context. Make yourself smaller and don't focus intently on them can help. Rabbit vision is also a factor because they have poor depth perception and aren't great at seeing things close where we are trying to interact with them. So the primary way to socialize with practically any animal is to spend time with it. Specifically in the case of that bun, spend time in an enclosed space where you are doing absolutely nothing to it. Fuck around on your laptop or read a book while you're in the enclosure. Even if the bun sniffs you, don't pet. Unless it's literally shoving its head under your hand (which is how my two buns let me know they want to be pet; and if I ignore further they start to bite or thump), leave it alone. Let it explore. Do this for a long ass time. Literally hours a day. Some animals will take weeks or even months of this. Some will adapt in days.

If it starts sleeping around you, you've won and you can pet and probably a lot more. You could also try taking a nap in the same enclosed space as long as you're not a retard sleeper, e.g. you don't flail around while sleeping or waking.

By enclosed space I mean something that's no larger than a queen/king sized bed. And if you're brave enough to risk pee and poop on your bed, your bed is a pretty good space (it still has to be enclosed though because obviously they'll just jump off otherwise).

I have two bunnies right now, one is big and one is small.
The problem is that the small rabbit is weirdly aggressive. I keep them separate for this reason, but when I do take down the barrier Small will hide away and then suddenly run out and attacks Large. This is not friendly play, she latches on and grunts and is clearly doing her best to do damage.
Fortunately Large seems to come out of this with no physical injuries, but Small gets injured in the struggle and I'm generally worried about it getting worse.
How can I get these two to get along? In spite of the fighting, Large is definitely a lot more lively and active with Small nearby. They have plenty food and space (they each have about 200 square feet), I think that Small is just scared of Large. What can I do?

I've had Large for over a year before I had Small who I've had for about a month. If anything, Small stole half of Large's territory (Large doesn't care much afaik). Small was definitely angling to take more territory though, she would poo all over the place, and would constantly sneak over to Large's side and pee on stuff. I don't know if this is relevant, but after every fight they eat each other's fur. I take it away so they don't clog up their intestines, but I didn't find anything on this behavior online.

Hi /an/, I was walking home from work and there was a wild rabbit in the path, and unusually it didn't run away like they usually would.
Instead, it started rolling around all over the place as I got closer, almost like it was trying to flee but was unable to determine which way was up. So it just sort of flip-flopped for a few minutes, until it calmed down (or tired out) and just laid there.

There were no visible wounds or blood, at a glance it was perfectly healthy. Any ideas what could have caused it? I was guessing head trauma but it was fairly far from any roads, and again it appeared fine.

My bun's cursed. Out of the five potential bondmates so far:

This little shit just escaped a 5 foot tall enclosure by climbing onto his bed then jumping over the side. Luckily the fall didn't seem to hurt him too much, he started doing laps around the coffee table and jumping around until he tired himself out. AFAIK the pellets are supposed to cover protein and micronutrients that a monotonous timothy diet won't cover.

Most pellets are made from hay, plus onions hulls (because they're cheap) to bump the plant protein content. The zero-onions brands say this is bad because of some digestion bioavailability mumbo jumbo, but that's been the formula for decades.

Rabbits are my favorite animal, but I don't have the luxury of taking care of such a messy, sloppy, stinky creature.

Fuck retards who adopt rabbits on Easter and then abandon them a week later. But part of that is the rabbits' fault for being a lot higher-maintenance than their appearances let on.

I've been raising two little Netherland Dwarf bunnies, a male and female, for a couple months now, and just today I noticed the female was repeatedly attempting to mount and hump the male.
What does she mean by this?

My female rabbit sometimes does this to the boy rabbit. She's the dominant one of the pair. Strangely she humps his face, absolutely trying to rape that bunboy mouth.

Saw two buns fighting in the street. Laid on my horn to get them out. I hope their mutual combat didn't result in mutual destruction.

I posted earlier in this thread about my two rabbits that aren't getting along. I started the stress bonding and it seems to be working, I won't leave them alone unsupervised, but they are so much better. Large is 95% OK with Small and Small is just wary around Large.

But I'm having another issue, I thought it would go away when they stopped fighting, but it's still just as bad. Small keeps on peeing in a corner of Large's territory. Large doesn't even spend much (if any) time there, but every time Small works up the nerve to enter Large's territory she'll go there and leave a thick piss. She also poos all over the place on that side of the room, but that's less of an issue. It's fairly close to Small's litterbox, but she is fine with her own litterbox when the gate is up

Adding protein isn't a good thing. The whole reason why everyone suggests Timothy over Alfalfa is because Timothy has less protein (and calcium). Too much protein can cause impaction in adult rabbits. Pellets do have hulls in them often though, like onions hulls and oat hulls, not onion.

Regardless, rabbits don't need pellets at all to have a healthy life as others have stated. Hay and fresh veggies are more than fine.

anyone got tips for geriatric bunnies?
He's going on 13/14 years old, and just overall being more lethargic.
He's developing some sores on the bottom of his feet from not moving as much anymore and he can't really clean himself the same as he used to. There's soft padding everywhere but he just can't move like he used to.

Vet says he's completely healthy just old.
