There's some good ones where the deforestation part isn't until the end. I can't think of many that completely exclude deforestation, since its a big reason the documentaries are made in the first place, to raise awareness. I haven't seen them all though, so if you find one I'd be curious to watch it too.

it was some kind of animal documentary depicting orangutans, and when the sex part came in the narrator in soft voice explained that a male orangutan breaks female's pelvis during copulation every time and it has led to a decline in their population. then i woke up.

Maybe I am reading far too much into that webm but animals really dont purposefully mix foodstuff right to make it taste better.
Maybe it was just a happy accident or coincidence that he did that but imo it tells that Pongos can put two and two together which for other animals would be two separate things with no tangible connection.
Firstly there's liquid of some kind which tastes good. Then there's pastry or bread of sorts which is dry and possibly bit bland. So how do you make it better, you dip it and it works because the texture is something that can soak up some liquid.
It may look simple but there's still deep understading of various things that other animals, as far as I know would not be able to produce.

If lets say, someone (not me) used physics and bio-engineering to speed up generational evolutionary gains, would orangutans theoretically develop good enough cognitive abilities to comprehend physics and escape fenced enclosure into the wilds? If they were given tools (in theory) could they use and replicate them to create independant orangutan society? Just bored, that's why i'm asking

Bonobos are fine. Chimps are just as bad as macaques when it comes to cannibalism, murder, necrophilia. Infant rape is much, much more common with macaques but isn't unheard of with chimps. The difference is I can see myself holding and caring for infant and toddler chimps, muhcocks and baboons get the million pity treatment regardless of age.

>Bonobos are fine
absolutely false.
bonobos are at best as bad as chimps, and in some aspects worse.
they don't actively go on patrol like chimps, but they still rip each other limb from limb for no reason. MOST adult bonobos observed in nature are missing appendages. the meme that they are free love hippies is just that, a meme. according to a lot of studies they actually have sex LESS than chimps, and in some contexts are MORE likely to initiate violence.

So i'm confused anons... Did humanity evolve strictly FROM chimpanzees or are they just the closest thing to us? It'd have been a lot cooler if we had evolved from orangutans, but i see no steppes there to facilitate bipedalism.

We had common ancestor that then branched TO apes and humans.

Common ancestor, like all things.
Even "living fossils" aren't technically the same species they evolved from.
Chumps/bonobos and humans are cladistically very close though, and we would probably be the same genus if we weren't so anthropocentric.
You're actually kind of wrong about the walking thing though. Of all the great apes pongos are the most bipedal by far.
In many ways they're closer to us than chimps, actually, but it's almost certainly convergent evolution.

If pongos generally live alone in the wild, how come the orphans at the Jungle School are so well adjusted to living in large groups?

Correct. Somebody showed him and now he does it. Maybe he likes the taste better too, but even that isn't necessary for this behavior. He has no fucking idea what it means for food to be "too dry" and how to fix that.

I think I read that they're solitary not by choice, but because of the scarcity of fruits. Once in a while, years, there's a giant fruit boom where food is abundant. When this happens, the orangutans become much much more social and form little groups and the kids play together. But when the boom dries and fruit becomes more scarce, they have to focus on themselves to survive.
