>CAW! CAW! CAW!Why are crows so annoying?
i wish we had crows herewe only got a wide range of different kinds of pigeons
>>3865393They're simply too based
Crows are CUTE
>>3865393because they are not ravens
>>3865414>a crow proudly present the words he came up with by jumping around on a keyboard
>>3865393They don't wear a tuxedo.
>>3865420it's the whole 5'11 6ft thing all over again
A Corvid fucking thread!
>>3865414what a magnificent sight
>>3865844For me it's the Steller's Jay. A couple of these guys hang out in the trees at my house. Very majestic birds and less obnoxious than crows
>>3867006Also a big fan of the California scrub jays in the woods around here.Recent research has suggested that western scrub jays, along with several other corvids, are among the most intelligent of animals. The brain-to-body mass ratio of adult scrub jays rivals that of chimpanzees and cetaceans, and is dwarfed only by that of humans. Scrub jays are also the only non-primate or non-dolphin shown to plan ahead for the future (known as metacognition), which was previously thought of as a uniquely human trait. Other studies have shown that they can remember locations of over 200 food caches, as well as the food item in each cache and its rate of decay. To protect their caches from pilfering conspecifics, scrub jays will choose locations out of sight of their competitors, or re-cache caches once they are alone, suggesting that they can take into account the perspective of others. California scrub jays also summon others to screech over the body of a dead jay, according to research from the University of California, Davis. The birds' cacophonous "funerals" can last for up to half an hour.
>>3867011I love my scrub jays. But I think that at this point my yard's been taken over by a single scrub jay. I put out peanuts and mealworms for them and when I put out the worms this one (I named him Simpson) almost instantly swoops in and eats all the worms. 20 worms gone in a minute or two.I'm planning on getting a bell and ringing it every time I put out worms so he'll come over when I ring the bell.We also have crows in our neighborhood, but they almost never enter my yard. The one time I saw one in the yard the two scrub jays who were nesting in my yard harassed him until he flew away.
I wish the ravens near me were friends, I wouldn't hurt them. I'm too forgetful to try and lure them here and look after them though, and I think there are a couple cats lurking about sadly.
>>3865393>have giant crow colony in apartment yard>wake up to cawing, feel at peace>old hags and other neighbors complains about the "the noise" to the tenant and since he can't legally cut down the tree's just shoots them.:(
>>3865393Crows are based, but they are up to some weird shit. For the last couple of days I've seen one filling all the ashtrays outside my office with gravel.
There's a crow that comes a few times a week to eat whatever I throw for the big birds in my yard.I usually throw peanuts, pears and grapes, but those based retards seem to prefer fucking french fries.Any idea how to tame that crow? I just want to be able to chill in my yard without it fleeing in panic.
people say Towhees are avoid people but I know California Towhees are bros and will come right up to your feet and stare at you, like yo bro you gonna share that sandwich?
>>3867701He's sick of smokers shitting up his neighbourhood. 7 in the morning and he has to wake up to that fucking smell every day.
>hlkhqqjkncn AH AH AH AH AH AH AAAAH hfuhqkfbannqoifno EEEEEEEE neqwdnnnuu OOOOOOOWhy are humans so annoying?
>>3865393They vocalize to communicate with other crows. for you it seems annoying, but for them it is totally normal conversation. Why are you so annoying?
>>3865393sure that's a crow?
>>3865399we dont have crows nor wild pigeons in my area. only those those common brown type sparrows.
>>3865393Crows are chads. You're virgin
How do I befriend crows?
>>38729721) leave food they like until they notice and become regular on the spot2) make sure they now see you giving the food3) repeat until they know you're mr food4) chill with them
>>38654203rd eye there
your shitty cat is bothering them
>>3873264I did this and they only come closer when their young ones are with them.
>>3873617It takes time... make sure they recognize you as mr food.
>>3873617They are wild animals. Not like you're gonna just be able to pet them. But they will recognize you and call to you and all that. So you'll mean something. But if you think you'll become the local bird man and be part of their group you're fucking retarded.
>>3865393I love those autistic retards.
>>3875658I know. Just found it curious they acted a bit differently when young ones are around.
>>3875842Because they're teaching them. Crows and ravens remember people and pass on that information to their young. Researchers who studied them even had to wear masks because they would know or recognize people and act differently.
>>3865393Crows are based. Smart as fuck and keeping things under surveillance for Odin.
crows are fuckin smart and based af
This thread needs to get going
I want to make friends with the corvids who live in the green outside my house. How do I go about this?
>>3879321like with most animals, food probably
>>3865692Is that magpie crying or blind?
I love them, they really seem to acknowledge you when they look at you
Ultra based gif/webm bro.Crows and other corvids are damn near peak life.
>>3867701>Crows are based>At work>See two magpies fighting-not withholding >They are fighting so barbaric, poking eyes and flying all over the place.>Not only are all the other magpies follow them watching them fight like crazy, but humans in the office watch too.>Chad crow or raven in the tree watches.>Swoops down between the fighting two birds and breaks up the fight.>The group of about 10 magpies disperse.>Flies back up to tree.
I'm afraid that if I befriend one it might poke my fucking eyes out if I get too close :(
>>3865393Give me more crow stories, or as I like to call them, crowries
>>3870928More like>blehblebh HAHAHAHAHA>OOOOOits even worse when they’re drunk
>>3879807Just read its movements and dont do sudden movements
there are some crows that live on top of the building i work, but there's a lot of foot and vehicle traffic. how can i earn their trust? when i try to leave them food they don't seem to give a shit
>>3880764>Just read its movementsDo you think I'm Goku or something? They react much quicker than us.
>>3865393They're not compared to birds that chirp in high pitches. I would gladly kill all songbirds.
>>3881532They can tell you're not cool enough to hang with them. Move on.
>>3865393Shut up faggot crows are awesome.Bitch
>>3865393Because nobody likes sketchy little black dudes who you know are up to no good loitering in their neighborhood.
>>3881532Kill them. The survivors will start to take you seriously
>>3879336I found Ozzy Man Reviews because of these gifts in these threads.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBsEJ0JyoeUlaughed my ass off with his voice overs
