also she thicc
>>3441542No, it needs to be covered in puffy colorful feathers and have big red dangly parts like a vulture
>>3441542The feeding was unnecessary. Typical fetishization of carnivores. Most of the lives of even carnivores are just lived hanging out. They could have made this without the gore, but expecting millennials and zoomers to go easy on the gore is like expecting them to not run this fucking world into the ground.
no the arms likely had display feathers and there may have been light quills on the neck and tail
>>3441574what's your source on that
>>3441564Eating is a regular part of any animal's life tho, just because it is considered "cool" and "edgy" doesn't mean it isn't that way
>>3441575reality (aka not your favorite movie when you were 9)
No it should look exactly like this
>>3441564Haha yes let's have a lifelike model of a once living and breathing animal doing absolutely fucking nothing, that would make it feel more alive!
>>3441599i'm the first guy to defend and uphold accuracy when it comes to representing dinosaurs or any other prehistoric animal in media, but as far as i know, the latest soft tissue samples from t. rex show that he was covered in scales. if there's anything you can show me that states otherwise, you're more than welcome to do so.
>>3441564Hunting is part of their life too, it not supporting your "predators are lame and uncool" agenda doesn't make it inaccurate
>>3441542cross it with pic related and it would be perfect
why can't we just crispr some ostriches already?
>>3441691Looks too mammalian. What parts would you keep?
>>3441542Were their legs really that short? Holy shit, absolute JUST
>>3441691Why did they make the lips so retarded looking? they look perfectly fine in the statue but here they look like dumb bulldog lips
>>3441721It's probably based on the Sue skeleton they had to build in an akward pose because it didn't fit in the room
>>3441739Just looked up her new exhibit, holy shit it looks awful
>>3441564We need more models of sleeping theropods.
>>3441542so where’s the Official 4Chan Photographer’s shot? I just wanna see just how realistic it really is, for reasons.
>>3441738Emulating monitor lips maybe?
>>3441872I find that really weird since people spent years trying to get it in people's heads that dinosaurs are not lizards
>>3441542Like all modern reconstructions it's way too front heavy. The posture is unrealistic, it would've fallen on its face. Like it or not this wasn't Velociraptor with a stiff tail and an S shaped neck.
>>3441937Why wouldn't they have lips? It keeps their teeth safe, undamaged. Most vertebrates without beaks have them. Dinosaurs would look weird without lips.
>>3441941>The posture is unrealistic, it would've fallen on its face.
>>3441949I mean basing the lips on lizards, as i said they look allright on the model but look weird on the saurian model
>>3441949>Why wouldn't they have lips?Because unlike yo momma they didnt evolve to suck dick
>>3441564He's just warming his friend with his mouth bro
>>3441996I'm not your brother, buddy.
>>3441542This thing looks like it would fall over the second you hit 'unpause'
>>3441952I want you to look at these geese and then look at the T-rex againYou can literally see that they have a very heavy weight towards the back end that is around equivalent to the front end
>>3442308obviously it wouldn't walk like that, but how do you suppose it would lean over to pick up food without falling over? this is a snapshot of motion, not a position it's actually holding.
I like this one
>>3441542This honestly makes me believe that dinosaurs are fake. Dinosaurs were probably made up to scam money out of people (archaeology grants, museums, exhibitions, books, art, etc). If dinosaurs existed they probably lived at the same time as humans, but humans hunted them to extinction and that's why so many cultures have stories of dragons and heroes who slew dragons.
>>3442591did dimetrodon live alongside humans too creatonist kun?
>>3442658It looks like a dragon to me.
>>3441542>Is this the most accurate reconstruction of a T.rex ever? No, this is.
>>3442689i dont know why, but when i see that statue i get an irresistible urge to position a sniper in the mouth and lure an innocent local in front so he can shoot them in the head. huh. weird.
>>3442689I used to stop by there all the time on my way to Palm Springs as a kid, i wonder if it's still around>>3442739Settle down Boone
>>3441607honestly it might not be realistic but this kind of look is so much nicer for fiction. games and otherwise
>>3442817Then why don't they use it in fiction games and otherwhise?
>>3442846cause all of their autistic supporters support these third party games for autistic realismMHW is basically what you just asked for
>>3441564this is quality bait.
>>3442689One For My Baby
>>3441564Pretty original piece of bait, I have to admitHave a (You)
>>3441599>>3441574>>3441607>not a single t-rex feather fossil has ever been found>ever>arm bones have no quill knobs the way raptors do>many skin impressions show bumpy mosaic scales, not feathers>dipshits will still die on the "t-rex had feathers" hill
i want to fuck a trex bros
>>3441564they just needed to support the front part for ffs, it's just much easier to build this way
>>3443174>for ffssorry, i was meant to write "for fucks ffs sake" of cource
>>3441542No, pic related is the most accurate depiction
>>3443179That's... That's just a barn owl
>>3443179looks like the bird aliens from Stellaris
>>3443175ffs ffs ff sake
>>3443179That’s a reconstruction of Cryolophosaurus you troglodyte
>>3441542I remember their arms being tiny but not that tiny.
>>3441691>>3441542Why do they think it leans forward that much? I just have a hard time imagining it not tipping forward with the slightest swivel.
How does this thing have any sort of balance? Also whats up with those beedy little eyes? Reminds me of a pitbull
>>3443276>>3443279Like I get the tail is supposed to act as a counterweight, but it just doesn't look anywhere near big enough.
>>3443207honestly ive often wondered this. Like how do we come up with any of these assumptions over how dinos look based on their bones? Seems like we could just be way off
>>3442343its tail would need to be much heavier or it would have to crouch down much lower with its arms and chest on the ground.your choice, nobody knows. but OP isn't going to work.
>>3443276i feel the same that t rex always looks so front heavy, i cant imagine anything like that being balanced
>>3442591I’m on you with this.
>>3441564Imagine being this much of a hippie freak that you would say something like this.
>>3441607These would look good in a final fantasy game.
>>3443276Isn't it thought that dinos had air sacs to help reduce weight? There's probably actually a lot of empty space in the neck and torso. Lungs too of course.
>>3443575it would have to be filled with helium to counter that anemic tail
>>3441575It's the Feathers of the Gaps argument.
>>3441996>Ooga booga bix nood
>>3443207>This Twitter meme proves dinosaurs looked like barn owls
What do you guys think of this T. Rex reconstruction?
>>3443694Looks good...a lot better than the fatass in the OP pic.
>>3443179how would they preen?
>>3443207Funniest picture that I've seen all year so far.
>>3443282We look at living relatives and compare anatomy. For dinosaurs we only have surviving archosaurs (birds and crocodiles) and generally try and get a sort of middle ground there. In rare cases now we actually have fossilized mummies too. I believe we have such a thing for some form of ankylosaur as well as an edmontosaurus. For others we have feather and skin impressions and we've gotten to the point we can actually tell what color some feathered dinosaurs were. Dinosaurs are a broad group mind you want all the stuff we now about Tyrannosaurs for example isn't very useful for determining the appearance of sauropods for example.
I'm so fascinated on how much our view and understanding of the T. Rex has changed in the past over 100 years.
>>3441949Because of crocodilians. They're somewhere between a crocodilian and a bird, so there's debate whether or not it has lips.
>>3441575Reality ya dip
>>3443179looks like one of these secretary birds /an/ likes to simp
>>3443280>>3443521they just had massive balls to act as a counterweightor they had a large structure made out of cartilage on ttheir tail to help balance?
>>3445099Wait, is that why mountain goats have them?
>>3443575Yeah, that's why mammals can never get quite as big as the dinosaurs were. Even the biggest mammals are strictly quadrupedal. Dinosaurs had fenestrated bones where pockets of air from their respiratory system would fill, so a dinosaur bone would be lighter than a mammal bone of the same size. Also the tail was around 15% of it's body mass and it's center of mass was around where the knees and pubis are.
>>3441599what a fucking loser lmao
>>3443207Shrink wrap fags btfo.
>>3441607Top one looks awful, but the rest are fine.
>>3441564I bet you would cream your pants to this
>>3441607these look like reskinned monsters in FFXII
>>3441564What? Zoomers advocate for lies, disinformation and censorship. If anything, zoomers would have made this: >>3441547
>>3445459>Go to artists tumblr>See tranny shitGod fucking dammit
>>3441607Why does it have feathers if it can't fly?checkmate
>>3445651Every single time
>>3445603the fuck are you talking aboutzoomers are barely even old enough to be researchers at this point20 years old are the oldest zoomers
>>3445651>>3445686>Go to artists tumblr>Only see palaeo and nature related stuffWhat did you mean by this?
>>3445723Go down far enough to the peacock post, you'll see it
>>3445726>Post about their peahen, turning into a peacock, something they can naturally doAutist
>>3441738This. Tyrannosaurus would have had lizard-like lips like retrosaurs, not mammalian lips like nufaggot depictions and edgy 80's crocodile snouts.
>>3441937In the 80's faggots tried to make Tyrannosaurus look like a crocodile, now they try to make Tyrannosaurus look like a bird. LIZARD-like retrosaurs were always the correct depiction, with the exception of tail dragging. However, I have a gut feeling Tyrannosaurus stood more upright than nu-artists are letting on, due to the colossal head causing problems with balance if they were wholly horizontal in posture.
>>3442467Damn, that gives me the creeps. Imagine hiking through the forest, Breaking in to a clearing, and that looks up at you
