Dumb Question? Perhaps. But are they just frog food?
>>3440636To annoy me. I am obviously too strong so they invented mosquitoes and flies to nerf me.
>>3440636they eat shit its what they do
The halfway point between fish and iguana.
Their purpose is to fly
>>3440636So i can reinstate the vietnam war in my house every summer
>>3440636Nothing has a purpose.
>>3440818t. edgy teenager
They exist because they're a successful organism.
>>3440636What is the definition of purpose here? If the purpose is ecological, then they have many. The larvae of many of fly species break down organic matter so plants have access to the nutrients that would otherwise be inaccessible. And then the flies and their pupa/larvae exist on many points in food webs globally.
According to Islam, God created flies to annoy/humiliate the tyrants. All that power but they can't take care of a little fly?
>>3441278>be me>be tyrant>fly is annoying>order one of my 700 concubines to swat it for mewhat now god
>>3440636>Doesn't know what decomposers are and the cycle of nutrients
>>3441380Most people don't know about that but happily take on the information when informed, which is why spreading knowledge in a kind way is great.
>>3440636Pollination, decaying matter
>>3440636To frustrate my cat.
>>3441369>be tyrant>fly is annoyingDone. God already won.
>>3441385It should be pretty obvious just by looking at them.Fly larvae consume decaying material like shit and carrion and by doing so they break it down for smaller organisms to eat until the nutrients are completely redistributed.Without flies dead bodies and other nasty things wouldn't decompose nearly as fast and disease would breed in them for a lot longer.Thank you flies.
>>3441592Obvious to people who understand the process of nutrient cycling, yes. Which most people don't understand. I used to volunteer at a sanctuary and a laboratory teaching kids, students, and adults about the work being done, and the vast majority of them don't know about how important decomposers are until I told them. Unfortunately the stuff we think is common knowledge may not actually be.
>>3441631Stop being a preachy faggot.
>>3441635Sharing information about ecosystems is preachy huh. I suppose more people in the world need to be preachy faggots.
>>3441631I want to make a kid's cartoon that talks about the unsung heros of the world: Bees, worms, decomposers, spiders/centipedes, pests, etc.
>>3441704I'm ignorant, what are centipedes good for?
>>3441759They along with spiders are fantastic pest killers. I'd rather see one centipede than 50 other insects.
>>3441704Kids respond very positively to cool invertebrate information! Especially when presented in fun ways. It is rewarding to see children gain strong interest and appreciation for nature and little creatures on earth. Gotta prime some potential future entomologists and environmentalists somehow.
>>3440636The purpose of all life is the perpetuation of life. They fill a niche, so they exist.
You just wanted an excuse to post keroro gunso didnt you?
>>3440636I mean I feel like nothing exists for a specific purpose, but if you mean in ecological terms1. food for insectivores. Birds, bats, frogs, etc2. Larvae are decomposers, breaking down carrion and fecal matter to be reintroduced to the food chain3. waifu bait for /co/
>>3441278>god creates animal to annoy tyrants>they thrive in pigsties, chicken coops and other places where farmers go and tyrants never set footIs god dare I say retarded?
>>3443717no, just islam
