If I exercise while doing 3-day fasts will I lose weight faster? 2-3 hrs of cardio a day, every day.
>>
>>24922869
yes
>>
Go for the 7 day fast and you will drop 10 pounds a week
>>
>>24922869
Your body will have to get the energy from SOMEWHERE .... so yeah, if provided with nothing "new" it'll hit the larder ... or in your case the lard-ass.
dw i'm putting on weight too, it was said with concerned-affection.

You will make it anon.
>>
Yo anon , go for something sustainable.
I'm doing intermittent fasting with some really light weight training daily and one to two 1.5 h cardio sessions.
I eat breakfast at 10 and a lavish dinner at ~4.

I lost like 10 - 12 kg over maybe 3 months.
I think that's better than doing something crazy quick and then not sticking to it
>>
Fasting is a bad idea. It fucks up your metabolism and thus muscle growth. Sure, you'll lose weight, as your body turns on its organs

you'll lose pounds but you won't look much better
fasting + only doing cardio = muscle will be eaten
>>
>>24922869
You'll get everything back the week after stopping. If you want to lose weight, working out is much better than cardio

Why would your body consume it's organs before fat anon...

When your enter ketosis your body’s level of human growth hormone goes into overdrive alongside some other processes so it becomes incredibly efficient at using fat as a fuel source and your body consumes very little muscle (it still has to break down a bit).

It's still ass to do tho. You get so bored and then after you've actually lost the weight you need to make sure you're eating better or you’ll just get fat again.

OP instead of rolling 78’s to lose weight meal prep each week and measure your calories and macros. Do this when you want to gain weight as well so you can lean bulk easily.

If you're going to fast do 2 or 3 5 day fasts each year for the health benefits - not to lose fat.

2-3 hours of Cardio a day every day is just plain unhealthy unless you're a professional athlete. Swimming is the least "dangerous" type of Cardio but i'd say even 3 hours of swimming a day will break you.

If you run or cycle you will probably get some kind of an injury if you keep that up for a week. If you can even do 10min. of Cardio at the end of the first week.

Have rest days Anon.

if he's fat he's probably walking and 3 hours of walking never hurt anybody
>>
>>24923806
If he's so fat he can't run then 3 hours of walking every day will also break him eventually. Fat peoples joints are fucked and it walking with an additional 50kg of fat fucks them up even more. That's why i recommend swimming. It just doesn't stress any joints and the water helps you to not feel like a huge fucking boulder.

holy shit, don't do cardio while doing multiple days fast, just moving around is enough, if you do actual exercise during hours your body can fail.

If you want to fast and doing exercise, 24h-36h fasting at most, exercise 1h right before eating.

>>24923493
Not exactly right, while in fasted state, body create growth hormones so your muscles do not disappear. They can disappear during long fasts, more than 48h, so the average fasting method is perfectly fine. Now if you want to get really big muscles, probably what do you want to do is eating all day and not fasting, some people gain muscle while fasting with proper diet (no weight losing diet)
>>
>>24922869
Pick one or the other. or do both moderately. 1 hr cardio a day with a 48h fast once a week or something. Honestly with 2-3 hours of moderate to high intensity cardio a day you should be losing weight pretty quick unless you eat like a horse.
>>
>>24922869
Yeah.
But holy shit, you'll also probably black out at some point.
If you're doing fasts, your energy comes from sugar and fat stores. But it only gets made as fast as your liver can process it, so if you use it up faster, you're going to get switched off until it recovers.
Big difference is if you're already a well fat adapted athlete and you can burn grams of fat a minute but that takes time.
>>
>>24922869
The best way to lose weight is to do fasting + low carb. Lower carb = more weight lost
>>

>Why would your body consume it's organs before fat anon...
That's a good question. Most likely it's because the number of calories you burn every day is mostly dependent on lean tissue. Muscle cells, for example, burn ten times as many calories as fat cells even when you aren't exercising. If you're living in famine conditions then burning away your muscles and organs means you need fewer calories per day to keep going.

It also, unfortunately, kills you after a while. And honestly, that's what you need to be focusing on. *Why* your body does this doesn't really matter. What matters is that it does it.
>>
>>24923493
Drinking water decreases the likelihood that this will happen
>>
yeah you can but if your new you wont even have the energy to go outside, an hour of light cardio is more realistic to the most you could accomplish.
>>
>>24923587
only if you gorge. the first day the weight loss is coming from the glycogen you're burning, not fat. your weight drops quickly during this period but since it isn't from fat it isn't durable. after a day or so the weight loss slows to a bit under a pound a day as your body starts burning fat. when you stop fasting your body replenishes its glycogen reserves and you regain the weight you lost that first day or two - but that weight wasn't from fat anyway. if your goal was to lose fat, then this doesn't matter.

fyi
Body's fasting energy sources by how long you do a fast.
Your body is ALWAYS turning over protein anyway, so you are going to lose muscle mass over time.
You will lose a lot more fat though.
>>

>it only gets made as fast as your liver can process it
ketones are also made in the pancreas and kidneys, but yeah the liver is the main source. it's simply a matter of scaling back the intensity of the workout to the rate your liver can produce. there are some very successful ultramarathoners (think 24-hrs of le mans only on foot) that get into deep ketosis as part of their pre-race prep so they can run the whole thing on a few lbs of fat instead of staggering from sugar station to sugar station
>>
Yes, but the more likely result is you will fail and bounce back harder. It sounds like a good idea now while you are full and sitting down, most people can't handle such a sudden and big change in routine.
>>
>>24924025
water adn electrolites and you can fast for days.
>>
>>24922869
Uh you can try that but if while working out you feel a lightheadedness or dizzyness or nausea that won't go away please just break the fast it's not worth passing out mid run and cracking your head on the pavement

Don't listen to these quitters OP, take the David Goggins weight loss and exercise plan into account and do some of what he did (if not all of it). If you want results and are determined to get them quickly, you can make it happen.
